Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware

The absolutely divine Da'Vine Joy Randolph joins us on the podcast this week! The Oscar winning actress joined us in the midst of her global promo run for the brand new film Eternity, which coincidentally also stars friends of the podcast Callum Turner & Elisabeth Olsen! Da'Vine has to be one of our most foodie guests, we could have talked about eating and drinking for hours. We also discovered that London feels like her second home, that she has a seltzer water addiction, that she loves a sticky toffee pudding, what filming The Holdovers was like and she reveals that she has dumped men over their bad food choices at restaurants! This is surely the first of many meals we'll share with Da'Vine, what a lovely lunchtime treat! Eternity is out in cinemas in the USA now, and UK on the 5th December. Hosted on Acast. The comic fantasy "Eternity" takes the romantic triangle concept to a multidimensional level. Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner star in the tale of an afterlife weigh station, where a woman must decide whether to spend eternity with her husband of many years or her first husband who died decades earlier. The concept is better than the execution, but a likable cast gives this rom-com a considerable boost. The animated farce "Zootopia 2" is a worthy successor to the 2016 hit. In this lively, funny and smartly executed tale, a fox and a rabbit uncover the mystery of why reptiles are prohibited from a city where most animals live together in relative peace. It's a family film in the best sense of the term. It's a beautifully animated offering with zany slapstick for the kids and sly cultural and political commentary for their parents. Can't wait for “Zootopia 3.” "Left-Handed Girl" is an edgy Netflix drama from Taiwan. A struggling single mom opens a food stand in a busy Taipei marketplace. She contends with the troubles of her two daughters, one a wayward teen and the other a 5-year-old kleptomaniac. Although it's the first effort of director Shih-Ching Tsou, Sean Baker of “Anora” fame is the co-writer and editor. “Left-Handed Girl” is a shrewd movie that takes viewers to places they may not expect. A solid performance by Josh O'Connor is the main attraction of “Rebuilding,” a convincing if stubbornly low-key drama about a group of people living in Fema shelters after losing everything in a devasting Colorado wildfire. “Rebuilding” is an effective, deliberately paced tale of resilience anchored by inspired casting.

The cast for the newest season Traitors has been released and it's a good one! One of football's most notorious mothers, Donna Kelce, will be on the show. A judge has thrown out Justin Baldoni's $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively. Although it may seem like this is over, I think we still have a long road ahead of us. Apparently there is still a court trial against the two set for March 2026. For what you may ask? I couldn't tell you. Dua Lipa is the latest star to be on the cover of British Vogue and in the article she announced that her and Callum Turner are indeed engaged to be married. I haven't been this happy since I saw Kylie and Timothee at the basketball game. I saw the movie Materialists, and while I thought it was very very good, it did take a turn and I'm not really sure what to think of it. I also saw Miley Cyrus's film, Something Beautiful, and beautiful it was. It was visually and sonically stunning. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Sorry if you didn't see it because it was only in theaters for 1 day. We also talked in this episode about Rihanna's net worth plummeting nearly $400 million since last year. Now I know that sounds like a massive amount of money (it is) but don't worry. Our former popstar still has $1 billion left. Thanks for listening!
