Swans Crossing turns nothing into something, nips things in the bud and confuses to confront. It's read Grant Booth's The Art of Turning Tables and isn't holding back.
Garrett gets a new dad but Derick doesn't remember anything so is anything really different?
Nate Runkel is back for a whole new week of Swans Crossing (as we always knew he would be).

We live inside a concept of “linear time” and “linear space” and we work on the basis of “linear form” in movement, from the way classical anatomy is taught. Yet fascia, the fascinating “matrix of time and space” in the body - is part of everyone's non-linear form and non-linear motion...In this episode, Joanne is joined by her friend and colleague Shane McDermott to delve into the fascinating topic of “linear time” and how it can dominate our productivity and our culture and our self-image. What if we have the power to change that, with just a subtle shift in perspective and these beautiful distinctions? Can it impact our sense of self and our soul journey if we expand our understanding in simple ways that change how we perceive our bodies? How we move? How we feel?Join Joanne and Shane as they invite listeners to expand their consciousness and gain a new perspective on, or relationship with, how we interact with time and space. Discover how you can break free from the constraints of linear time and see your way off the treadmill of the “productivity trap” and towards living a more empowered, intuitive, and awakened life. In this conversation, Joanne Avison interviews Shane McDermott, an advanced practitioner, photographer, therapist, and explorer, often referred to as a “contemporary renaissance man”. They introduce the essential difference it makes to understand the human body beyond anatomy - and into archetypes - over time. To begin, they reminisce about meeting 25 years ago while teaching for Tom Myers and reflect on their time training with Caroline Myss, when she first taught Sacred Contracts (Archetypes) in person. Joanne and Shane delve into the transformative impact of understanding archetypes on body work therapy, emphasizing the way we understand time and how it is linked so closely to our life force. When we think we are time bound - we can operate at a level that keeps us on the “hamster wheel”. When we know how our archetypes work, in time, we can access deeper states of being and healing. It is a wonderful introduction to the series on Space and Time that's coming up soon. The end of week 4 is our first full week of Swans Crossing and it's really a wonder we could ever stop ourselves before. Gimme smore!
If nothing happens on Swans Crossing does anyone even notice unless you make someone watch it who has never seen an episode before?
In this episode of The Joanne Avison podcast, Joanne and her guest, Shane McDermott, engage in a deep conversation about the different qualities of listening... Can we listen from the heart? With our hands? As well as our ears? They discuss the four key levels of listening - download listening, factual listening, empathetic listening, and generative listening - and how they impact our perception of reality. It's a must-hear for everyone - especially those who work with people in a therapeutic or service based way. And Shane shares insights from his diverse studies and experiences, including his work with Otto Harmer, Dr. Ibrahim Karim, and Daniel P. Brown. The conversation emphasizes the importance of listening and how moving beyond self-centric approaches allows us to embrace relational and generative listening, fostering deeper connections with others and innovative solutions to problems. It's a superb way to tune in to guidance from within. Tune in to enjoy exploring how different listening practices can expand your awareness and transform interactions for yourself, with others... Don't be ridiculous, just because all the charcaters are different and don't know what they are saying anymore does not mean Swans Crossing isn't still the greatest show to ever be. Maybe that's exactly why.
Week 4 begins by reviewing episode 15 for us and the characters of Swans Crossing, who need it just as much as we do.
This is it. This is it. A swans to build a dream on.
Swans Crossing takes the connotations of a thirteenth episode a little too literally. Barek is in town and we may never be able to sleep again. Except for Derick who already doesn't remember what just happened.
Did Swans Crossing just become good TV? We know its only temporary, but its difficult not to get obsessed. Not as obsessed as Jordy is with that phone The Countess is using, of course.
Swans Crossing is back for its third week of that blissful summer of 1992. It takes us to The Growny Zone and back, sings and dances, tempts us with hot dogs and throws us off our bike.
The end of Swans Crossing's second week may not have everything you've come to never expect from this show, but it does have balloon monologues, divergently moble cakes, distracting soundscapes and mysterious floats. And shouldn't that be enough?
Derick tries to ruin Swans Crossing but it's too detached from reality to fall for his tricks.
Only eight episodes in and Swans Crossing is challenging everything you think you know about television. Also contracts, elevators, phones, bikes, sinks, birds and the sun. Grab your shimfork and dig in!
Somebody had to join us for the come down episode after 6 and it's Chris Hayner! Episode 7 has its own identity though and would really appreciate it if you stopped comparing it to episode 6.
Swans Crossing peaks way too early. So does television.
It's only episode 5 of 65, but we couldn't wait any longer to deploy Pete Capella on Swans Crossing. But what difference does context make when you're watching a show never really concerned with context?
Jordy Bogguss is back in Swans Crossing with us and maybe he'll stay forever. That could be part of Garrett Booth's elaborate plan after all. (Still no Mila. Kunis or otherwise.)
We had the privilege of interviewing Shane McDermott, the man behind the iconic character of Mitchell Goosen from the 1993 movie Airborne. He talks in depth about how he fell into the role, what it was like working with Seth Green/Jack Black and so much more. Hope you enjoy this fun conversation! Swans Crossing will not leave us alone and that's just fine with everyone. Rob Bowen joins us and confirms that Swans Crossing did, in fact, exist and isn't just a collective fever dream we never want to wake up from.
Our first breath of Swans Crossing won't be our last, we'll just lock in the family vault until next time. @JordyBogguss @DerickArmijo @SingleSeasonTV singleseasonrecord@gmail.com

F-Stop Collaborate and Listen - A Landscape Photography Podcast
Welcome to Episode 108 of the F-Stop Collaborate and Listen podcast. I'm really excited to present this episode to you - I feel like it is so different than previous episodes of the podcast thank to our amazing guest, Shane McDermott. Shane and I have known each other for a couple of years and I have always found him to be a wonderful breath of fresh air. His perspective on life and photography is so refreshing and thought-provoking. He also happens to have some absolutely incredible work, which you need to check out as soon as possible. In this episode of the podcast, Shane talks about his beginnings as an Integrative Health provider and how that informed his approach to photography. We define and discuss contemplative nature photography and how Shane's approach to landscape photography is similar but different from that approach. Shane shares his thoughts on "visual centricity" "awareness," and "constant creative flow" and how this approach to photography can change how you interact with the natural world through your photographs. We also talk about Guy Tal's article on Nature Photographer's Network about "The Mindful Photographer," and how that approach is similar but different than Shane's. Lastly, we talked about his unique approach to workshops, which he calls "VisionQuest Photography." This week on Patreon, I ask Shane about his experiences of travelling through Navajo and Hopi land in pursuit of landscape photography and he shares his experiences and thoughtful insights from his interactions with their culture as a photographer and traveler. Please consider supporting the podcast on Patreon! There's a ton of bonus content over there for subscribers! Your support is critical - it helps with production costs and to improve the podcast over time. Thanks! Even $1 / mo helps a lot! We are growing closer to our goal of getting to $1,000/mo in support, at which point I will create an award to be given to a photographer that is a champion of conservation. Help us get there! Here are the photographers that Shane recommended for the podcast: 1. Kathleen Reeder. 2. Florian Schulz. 3. Doug Koepsel. I love hearing from the podcast listeners!
