In this episode of Need Some Introduction, hosts Victor and Darren discuss several TV shows, primarily focusing on the first two episodes of 'Murderbot' on Apple TV+, the new series 'Duster' on HBO Max, and the progress of 'Mob Land.' They delve into the complexities and enjoyment of 'Murderbot,' comparing it to characters like Dexter and exploring the autism metaphor. They also consider the merits and drawbacks of 'Mob Land' and its soap opera qualities. Finally, they examine 'Duster's' retro styling and procedural nature, debating its potential long-term appeal. Additionally, brief mentions are made of films like 'Final Destination,' the newest 'Mission Impossible,' and upcoming releases. mailto:needssomeintroduction@gmail.com 00:00 Introduction and Episode Overview 00:18 HBO Max Rebranding Confusion 02:10 Discussion on MobLand 04:37 Character Analysis and Plot Predictions 22:48 Murderbot Series Review 29:09 Murderbot's New Friends 29:27 Book vs. Show: A Comparison 30:04 Humor and Improvisation in the Show 31:22 Character Dynamics and Relationships 34:29 Conspiracies and Mysteries 35:40 Soap Operas and Pop Culture References 37:23 Duster: A New HBO Series 50:54 Final Destination Franchise 55:08 Upcoming Releases and Final Thoughts

Jenny Pulse is a visual artist, singer, songwriter and one half of the collaborative duo, Tim Kinsella and Jenny Pulse. They're newest release, Giddy Skelter (out now via Kill Rock Stars), is a multi-textured collage of live instrumentation, samples, electro beats and experimental hooks. The recording is accompanied by a beautifully written zine titled Giddy Skelter : A Case Study. How to Make The Album You're Trying To Make, which functions as an illustration and manual to the process of making the record. In this episode Jenny shares how a karaoke rig and an old synthesizer were the gateway to her learning composition and arrangement. She tells us how the accompanying zine is a document of a new process of making a recording, how trips to the art institute influenced their song evolution and why she prefers mixing in a studio. The two discuss why untethering from the computer is a cure for the CPU blues, why band names make you feel like a teenager, and we hear a couple tunes. We left off last week with the murder of Gary Hinman. Bobby Beausoliea was the one said to have murdered Hinman and when he was arrested Charlie was not happy. Nervous in fact. Thought that bobby's arrest may point the finger at the rest of the family, mostly himself. And Charlie had plans that didn't include that. Still wanting to be a rockstar but likely confidence dwindling in that category after Terry mulches said "no" to him….He was good at the power of suggestion and manipulation…he was good at targeting and finding people men and women that would be susceptible to it. He was good at the art of the con. And if he wasn't going to be a rockstar in 1969 he was going to become famous for something else. Helter Skelter, his family of lost souls, his wayward insane personality that he would ride straight through until the end. This is the story of the nights of August 8-10 1969, the murder that followed that, and death valley…the place they thought they were safe from all harm or punishment but the place that they would slip up, get caught, and stand trial for the murders that ended the summer of love. With GC Kuss edging ever closer to Madrid and Jumbo-Visma's Grand Tour Grand Slam now inevitable, these are RadioCycling's latest headlines...As Jumbo-Visma end their tactical Vuelta skelter, we ask whether the Dutch team is the greatest of all time and whether it can maintain its supremacy. We also hear from former UCI president Brian Cookson, who assesses whether that dominance is good for the sport and why salary and budget caps aren't the solution to the perennial issue of big-money teams lording it over their rivals. This week's heart scare for Jumbo-Visma's Nathan Van Hooydonck was followed by the news that Cofidis's Wesley Kreder had suffered a similar issue two weeks ago. We looks at the details of both cases, the science behind heart issues in endurance athletes and the shadow that Covid continues to cast over the peloton.NCL – boom or bust? The National Cycling League was launched to a fanfare of hype, with celebrity backers like NBA star Kevin Durant and a million dollar prize purse. Hailed as a future for cycling, it's quickly hit the skids, with races scrapped, venues changed and riders laid off. We get the inside line of what's gone wrong and why from Escape Collective's editor Caley Fretz. And we have the transfer latest... including big name signings for Israel-PremierTech and, it almost goes without saying, Lidl-Trek, news of a new Brit in the WorldTour, as well as the return of the Vinokourov name to the pro peloton. Plus, there's an update on arrivals at Ineos Grenadiers... Support the show

With music & lyrics by Jimmy Dowd & Kevin McCann and book by Nicole Judy Vardon, 'Healter Skelter' has Moon dissatisfied with her noughties life and facing rejection from her father, she drops acid and escapes back in time to 1960s California, to meet the ultimate rock n' roller Charles Manson. Moon meets the Family at the height of their popularity and is quickly immersed. Little does Moon know, but she's about to play a part in the infamous Manson Family murders and trial. As we move in and out of Moon's trip, through Moon's eyes, we see the cracks in the various systems that still govern us today. But as the trip wears off, Moon is forced to confront her own inner demons, and how she too plays a big part in how demons and monsters are created. We allow people to build walls around us; is it for protection, out of fear, perhaps protecting our sense of what OUR TRUTH is regardless of facts? And how do we separate "the legend" from "the facts"? Or do we crown someone we love to hate? We needed a scapegoat and Charles Manson was perfect. https://www.healterskelterthemusical.com/

----------------------------------- SEGUICI SU: - Web Page: https://www.nippop.it - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nippopbologna - Twitter: https://twitter.com/NipPopOfficial - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nippopofficial - YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/nippopbologna

Hi, this is Rae Lundberg. I'm a writer, producer, and VA on The Night Post. Our show follows the conscripted couriers of Gilt City, a growing industrial society at odds with the ancient, arcane frontier that surrounds it. As go-betweens for the city and the Skelter, the pigeons of the Night Post are caught in the middle of a culture war over tradition and the supernatural. What begins as Milo's search for his missing husband becomes the couriers' journey to save themselves and uncover the secrets of the organization that chose them. Tim Moore's new book, Vuelta Skelter, sees him retrace the journey of the 1941 Vuelta a España in the wheel-marks of the winner, Julián Berrendero. Berrendero was a Republican who had spoken out against Franco. He spent 18 months in a concentration camp but was released in time to ride the 1941 Vuelta, or "the tour of a nation reborn," as it was branded by Franco and his followers. Vuelta Skelter completes Moore's grand tour trilogy after French Revolutions and Gironimo, his books about his exploits riding the routes of the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia. In this episode of Kilometre 0 Moore tells us about the complex, frequently rude Berrendero, why this book might not have happened without a global pandemic, and sneaking off to Spain to complete his Vuelta in between lockdowns.
