Here is the second episode of the Summer Edition and for this episode I decided to focus on Latin America so I selected 2 clips from 2 very interesting conversations about different aspects of the Latin American continent. I want to start by mentioning the clip from the episode about Suriname - that will come on the second part of this episode, so stick around to learn about Suriname's economic development. But first, we will talk about Fintech Funding in Latin America and this clip is from the episode Latin America's Fintech Funding Gold Rush. As you might know, financial inclusion is a recurring theme here on the EMT - so I invited Guy Hartstein a VC analyst from Recharge Capital, LP backed fund with a strong focus in emerging markets. He told me about the exciting fintech trends in the region, how valuations are different in LatAm compared to the US and what he looks for in a company before making a deal. And here is the second clip from one of my favorite episodes of 2022: Suriname Economic Development and Wildlife Conservation - I wanted to talk about Suriname and you will learn a lot about the country's economic situation. I invited Monique Pool, the founder of Green Heritage Fund Suriname. We talked about everything from economic development to how urbanization is affecting the country's wildlife. Monique told me that Suriname is one of the 3 carbon negative countries (along with Butan and Panama) and how she envisions Suriname's future, hopefully with a green economic development mindset. In this episode of Wake Up To Real Love, Dawn is joined by strategic advisor for ethical brands and managing director of The Sustainable Economic Development group, Valentine Stockdale. They discuss How childhood experiences can impact adult life, overcoming ‘the shadow' and self-limiting beliefs and why plant medicine can heal your past and create new neural pathways for your future.    KEY TAKEAWAYS  Self-limiting beliefs are common for children that have experienced abuse and abandonment growing up in cruel environments and often the child continues to believe they're limited and carry that into their adult life causing a range of subconscious patterns of negative behaviour that can be self-destructive.    Plant medicine allows your brain to create new neural pathways that give you clarity over past traumatic events giving you the ability to bypass them and understand the latent knowledge sitting in your mind inaccessible previously due to cognitive dissonance. Childhood pain is a shadow which is a collection of trauma and parts of our personality that we have rejected. Your shadow is a suppressed part of your personality you must overcome and flush out in order to reclaim your body so that you can shine brighter and be a better influence on people.    Past experiences and trauma cause us to shut down and hide and we use them as protective mechanisms, not really expressing what's really going on with ourselves because we have to live up to some expectation of who other people think we should be.    BEST MOMENTS  “Their obsession takes them to the point where they just outperform everybody's expectations and it's incredible. “You've got lots of conflicting views and opinions that will clash together and prevent you from seeing things clearly.” “I wanted to normalise people's struggles because this is why we shut down.” “You can be hurt by other people projecting onto you because they're unable to manage their emotional space.”   VALUABLE RESOURCES CONTACT METHOD https://www.instagram.com/theawakeningwithdawn dawn@theawakeningwithdawn.com ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. The rapid growth of the digital economy is the defining narrative of the last fifty years. Spurred by an era of remarkable innovation, digital technology has transformed societies and now contributes an estimated 16 per cent to the global economy annually. However much of the world remains poorly served, with an estimated 3.5 billion people still with no access to the internet. Most live in low to middle income countries where limited digital capacity in everything from skills and infrastructure, to governance and regulation, hinders economic development. But we know that simply connecting 10 per cent more of a country's population to the internet leads to an estimated 1.4 per cent growth in GDP, the impact is transformational. Which is why accelerating investment in the digital economy must be a development priority. Join us for a conversation with leading emerging markets VC investor, Nikunj Jinsi where we will discuss how digital transformation can drive sustainable and inclusive growth. We will also explore the role impact investors can play in accelerating the adoption of digital technology in developing countries. Nikunj is joined by our Managing Director, Abhinav Sinha who heads up our Technology and Telecoms team, and the discussion is chaired by Colin Buckley. Communities around the world can be sources of experimentation and inspiration as we move towards a clean energy future. In the northeastern United States in particular, cities and states are leading the way in engaging citizens and communities to work together on clean energy and sustainability issues—from bold pledges to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the formation of the nation’s first functioning cap-and-trade system, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. What lessons have these efforts taught us so far and how can the transition to a clean energy economy most effectively bring jobs and sustainable economic development to our communities? The first annual conference of the Yale Climate and Energy Institute convened leaders in science, policy, business, and international affairs to discuss the barriers that prevent clean energy from achieving full-scale deployment as well as solutions for overcoming those barriers.
