Has your brand become like background noise in the marketing landscape? Repeatedly saying the same thing has value as you try to establish a consistent brand . However, when it becomes a monotonous drone, your audience tunes out. If your message has lost its flavor and faded into the sea of sameness, it's time to rekindle interest in your brand through subtle adjustments. Introduce a fresh hue into your visual palette or refine your verbiage to highlight a singular aspect of your message. These subtle shifts within the familiar can jolt your audience out of complacency and reignite their attention. It is like giving your brand a fresh coat of paint, revitalizing its presence in the minds of your audience.
Remember Nex Benedict? She is the new Mathew Shepard. Remember when she was “beaten to death” in her school, and then walked out? Her dad apparently repeatedly raped her. Many girls like her use being “trans” as a self defense against this kind of abuse. We start out the show with a note I received from a listener who was sexually abused by a family member. You will hear her talk about a phrase this family used that haunted her whole life. We are talking about this because there will be many more like Nex.The Washington Post apparently knew about the abuse but still blamed LibsofTikTok. The continuing assault on kids minds and bodies and it is being revealed for what it is. We also look at a new lawn in Scotland that makes it illegal to say that women cannot have penises. JK Rowling masterfully responds to this and shows that the party who runs Scotland is satanic. What does God's Word say? Jeremiah 23:9-24Psalm 103:1-61 Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.Episode 1,511 Links:The absolute state of Canada. A 14-year-old girl walked into a private clinic in Quebec, said she was trans, and was given a testosterone prescription in less than 9 minutes. The only problem was that the girl was an undercover actor for the CBC"I need to get someone, an ambulance here quick please," Sue Benedict told the dispatcher. "My daughter. I don't know what's going wrong. She's posturing. She's not doing good at all. I need someone here now."WaPo hinted at sexual abuse of Nex Benedict's by teen's father in initial report—Libs of TikTok was blamed for her death anyway; It was told to authorities that the father raped the teen when Benedict was 9 years old.GRAPHIC: A man read from the p*rnographic book "Push" which is available to students in @FortBendISD. The book is about a father m*lesting, r*ping, and impregnating his 12-yr-old daughter. These are the books they're giving to kids in schools across the country in the name of "inclusivity"How the Trans Movement Left the Station; Mass Resistance has been fighting this madness for almost 20 years. Here, the group exposes how everything began.“Scotland's Hate Crime Act comes into effect today. Women gain no additional protections, of course, but well-known trans activist Beth Douglas, darling of prominent Scottish politicians, falls within a protected category. Phew

Exposure to winter's dry, cold air and chilly rain, sleet and snow can cause chapped paws and itchy, flaking skin, but these aren't the only discomforts pets can suffer. Winter walks can become downright dangerous if chemicals from ice-melting agents are licked off of bare paws. To help prevent cold weather dangers from affecting your pet's health, check out our top 10 cold weather safety tips from our experts at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC). Remember, if it's too cold for you, it's probably too cold for your pet, so keep your animals inside. If left outdoors, pets can freeze, become disoriented, lost, stolen, injured or killed. In addition, don't leave pets alone in a car during cold weather, as cars can act as refrigerators that hold in the cold and cause animals to freeze to death. Keep your home humidified and be sure to towel dry your pet as soon as they come inside. Repeatedly going into the cold and then comin back into a warm home can cause itchy, flaking skin. Pay close attention to their feet and in-between their toes and remove any snow balls from between their foot pads to prevent and treat skin irritation in the winter. Massage petroleum jelly or other vet-approved paw protectants into paw pads before going outside to protect from salt and chemical agents. Booties can provide even more coverage and can also prevent sand and salt from getting lodged between bare toes and causing irritation. Use pet-friendly ice melts whenever possible. Never shave your dog down to the skin in winter. A longer coat will provide more warmth. If your dog is long-haired, simply trim them to minimize the clinging ice balls, salt crystals and de-icing chemicals that can dry their skin, and don't neglect the hair between their toes. If your dog is short-haired, consider getting them a coat or sweater with a high collar or turtleneck with coverage from the base of the tail to the belly. After each walk, make sure to wash and dry your pet's feet and stomach to remove ice, salt and chemicals. Don't forget to check for cracks in paw pads or redness between the toes. You may also want to bring a towel on long walks to clean off stinging, irritated paws. Bathe your pets as little as possible during cold spells. Washing too often can remove essential oils and increase the chance of developing dry, flaky skin. If your pooch must be bathed, ask your vet to recommend a moisturizing shampoo and/or rinse. Thoroughly clean up any anitfreeze spills. Like coolant, antifreeze is a lethal for dogs and cats. Be sure to thoroughly clean up any spills from your vehicle, and consider using products that contain propylene glycol rather than ethylene glycol. Additionally, cold weather chemicals like ice melts can be dangerous when ingested, so always be mindful and keep chemicals up and out of paws' reach. Feed your pet a little extra in the winter months. Pets burn extra energy by trying to stay warm in wintertime. Feeding them a little bit more can provide much-needed calories, and making sure they have plenty of water to drink will help keep them well-hydrated and their skin less dry. Make sure your companion animal has a warm place to sleep, off the floor and away from all drafts. A cozy dog or cat bed with a warm blanket or pillow is perfect. Never let your dog off leash on snow or ice, especially during a snowstorm. Dogs can lose their scent in the snow and easily become lost. More dogs are lost during the winter than during any other season, so make sure your dog always wears an ID tag. Be sure to keep these tips top of mind this winter so that you and your furry friends can stay warm, cozy and safe.
Donald Trump is continuing to attack Judge Juan Merchan's daughter, even publicly naming her during one of his recent tirades on Truth Social. The man has gone completely psycho as his trial nears, and the judge can put a stop to this immediately if he chooses to do so. Trump is going to continue to push the envelope until the judge cracks. Also, Lara Trump was called out on NBC this week for only getting the job as the co-chair of the RNC because she married into the Trump family, but she tried to assure Republicans that she knows what she's doing. Unfortunately for Lara, the reason that she gave when asked why Republicans should trust her should give all Republicans reason to worry because it shows that she has no idea what she's doing and she's in way over her head. Finally, in a court filing this week, Donald Trump's lawyers argued to Judge Aileen Cannon that he's now just too busy to be prosecuted - because he's too busy being prosecuted in New York. The lawyers said that the April 15th start date for the hush money trial creates too many scheduling conflicts, and therefore Cannon should move back her trial. This argument will likely prevail with Cannon, even though the lawyers knew to anticipate both trials.Subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay up to date on all of Farron's content: https://www.youtube.com/FarronBalancedFollow Farron on social media!Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FarronBalanced/Twitter: https://twitter.com/farronbalancedInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/farronbalancedTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@farronbalanced?lang=en
A journey both personal and political, Matt Embry's is an award-winning documentary filmmaker on a mission to get some answers to a medical mystery. If no one knows the causes or cures for multiple sclerosis, then why are so many MS charities touting drugs (with considerable side effects) that don't work in the long term? And why does the FDA drag its feet on approving promising non-pharmaceutical cures? And why won't the powers that be in the MS establishment listen to the director himself, diagnosed with the disease over two decades ago, and who through only strict diet and exercise, remains healthy and surprisingly asymptomatic? These are the questions that Matt Embry has dedicated his life to finding out, the obvious answers lie buried in the bottom line of Big Pharma — a risky diagnosis to make. This interview is fascinating not only for anyone with an autoimmune disease, but for all of those who believe in living a life without limitations. The mindset, courage, and resilience that Matt has shown is inspiring millions of people across the world. Repeatedly faced with hardship and adversity, Matt speaks candidly about his rock bottom, the mental health challenges he's faced and overcome, and how finding spirituality saved his life. Here's one for everyone who enjoys stories about terrible people losing in court! Casey stops by to review Alito's complaint to America's managers about the devastating cost of marriage equality: the exclusion of anti-LGBTQ bigots from juries. Matt breaks down the total failure of state attempts to ban drag shows and why the actual First Amendment keeps winning over the one that the kinds of people who yell the most about the First Amendment seem to think that they are yelling about. 1. Thomas/Alito statement in 2020 denial of Kim Davis's cert petition (2020) 2. Alito's concurrence in denial of cert in Missouri Dept of Corrections v. Finney (2024) 3. Trial court decision in Friends of Georges v. Mulroy (TN drag show ban) 4. Trial court decision in Florida-ORL v. Griffin (FL drag show ban) 5. Trial court decision in Woodlands Pride v. Paxton (TX drag show ban) If you'd like to support the show (and lose the ads!), please pledge at patreon.com/law! Seven people set sail on what is scheduled to be a three-hour sightseeing tour on the charter boat The Minnow, get caught in a storm and end up stranded on an uncharted tropical island together. The comedy comes from the failed attempts at escaping the island and the interaction of the very diverse group: comprised of a rotund but happy-go-lucky skipper, Jonas Grumby (known as "The Skipper"); his bumbling but well-meaning first mate, Gilligan; a snobby well-to-do millionaire, Thurston Howell III and his wife, Lovey; a buxom sexy movie star bombshell, Ginger; a high-school science professor, Roy Hinkley (called "The Professor"); and a nice country girl, Mary Ann. I'm from LA, so I grew into the nose I always hated, Or changed it Doesn't matter, though Cause the only thing you'll ever notice about me is my — everything, because I'm famous. She makes all the decisions. YOU WOULD RATHER BE WITH THIS UGLY BLACK BITCH?! No! I'm sorry! I love you! She's nothing to me! You want this? No, this is trash to me. I'll take it. I'm from LA, so— Stop eating Never sleep If you don't have money, get some Get off my dick Don't ride my coat tails You don't know shit about me I'm from LA, so You can be 115-120 pounds but no more than that really, And even so once you get to Hollywood celebrity red carpet women weight average 120 Just be okay. I'm not okay. That's a problem. You can't be a rockstar and have children. I'd rather have kids. Too bad, you're a rockstar. WORK HARDER! WORK HARDER! But she's not working at all! SHE'S WHITE, SO SHE'S BETTER THAN YOU. I HATE WHITES. Great, that allows them to keep treating us Like we all do. I'M A PROUD AMERICAN! GET A JOB! Pay my bills! CORPORATIONS …we need more slaves. You're scaring me. What. I hate you. Oh. How do you feel? So we can't continue mass incarceration, because at this point, it's cost us money. Right, Because the people were mass incarcerating are typically living in poverty. Uh huh. Because we made sure that after they built and maintained everything… Yep. We made sure for the next 200 years to let them know We don't want you here. But I just sat on a train full of coughing people just to come here. You have to wear a bathing suit at least. Now they're strategically targeting my mental capacity by using loud sounds and consistently manipulating me to cause a constant state of anxiety and panic. Oh, and pain. It's psychological warfare, this is literally torture. Truest me, if I could burn off this body, I would I have. But all that's left is Skin. I'm not taking out my body in a bathing suit after being shown Tyla's! WHY?! TYLA I GOT WATE— Actually, you know what? I quit, What?! You can't quit, we're not done torturing you. Well, I quit. GOD Here you go. It's more than skin deep. I'm from LA, so Everything we do is pretty. Everything is perfect— And if you're not, she is And they can all be bought Women of color in all facets of the entertainment industry are made to conform to a hierarchy of misogynistic race warring—which uses tactical deterioration of mind and spirit by glorifying and sexualizing the fetishized archetype; the competitive aspect being a genetic system of monetary and material worth and value. BLACK LIVES MATTER! ALL LIVES MATTER. HOMELESS PEOPLE: Not mine though, right? AMERICANS You must have done something to deserve this. So what are you doing. Getting a job. I'm from LA, so We all have 2 jobs and three side hustles And no time Cause time is money Which is why Half of us Are in New York Half the time (Keeps the balance) The Grammy's don't matter. Your baby didn't write this song, but I get it The struggle is hard, And now it's over So the less tears shed by your daughter Who will be poked and prodded By the vultures of the only industry She may be allowed to succeed in Because of her color It is competitive. But what do you do when you lost the body composition contest at 7, And by your 30th birthday that's all that mattered— And as you prepare to close out this podcast You have all the time in the world To look back on How it always was A body competition you didn't realize you were already losing That Your body would be your prison forever That Every scar is a flaw and That Your first love was named Starr so, It's his world. A man's world. So. Miley Cyrus still looked more like Hannah Montana when Bangerz —With a Z? —Probably. Came out… What is it about her? I think it's her eyes. Ok. Well. Skrillex gets a pass because he's Skrillex— obviously God loves him more than all of the rest of us. [the reject pile] But Dillon Francis is dead to us. Tattoos everywhere? All over. Wild eyes? They're so, like — Heavier on the eyeliner. You don't want any of these bodies? No, not really. They want you. They haven't seen it. You look good to me. NAKED: It's not that bad. ***the shit you say when*** It's pretty bad, I just won't want you to panic. Men can only love bodies. I fell in love with her soul. Really? Cause. I put the same soul in like 10 people before this one and you're just now about that life, What? Really? I wanna touch your soul. Damn, why are black people always playing mind games with each other? Made you look. Ugh. Go over there. Haha. I control you. Okay. You can't have this much power. CAN. Can't. Your dick is 3 feet long. I AM GOD. No, I'm God. MOREPOWER. What's that over there?!? Made you look. It's all games, but if i'm being honest— At least Becky is predictable. What. Look. Karen is Karen because I already KNOW how you're gonna react if I— YOU CANT DO THAT. I can— NO, YOU CAN'T, I'M IN CONTROL. My wife makes all the decisions. I'm gonna have to ask my husband. I CONTROL YOU. No, you don't, MY HAIR IS REAL. YOURS IS FAKE. Well, that's because my real hair is— I'M OFFENDED. Exactly. Racism: Intolerance I don't like it, Why, Cause. Why: I don't like it. I don't support immigration. (YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!!!!!!!!!) So we're allowing the importation of hundreds of thousands of [underpaid corporate slaves] Who have already been programmed to [BUY NIKE] Si. [You need an iPhone] Habla me. From even more deeply racist and misogynistic countries— ¡Cerrado tu boca y mira mis ninos! Ugh. Did you know Latinos also hate the blacks, for the most part? AFROLATINOS WE WANT REPRESENTATION. LIN MANUEL MIRANDA Ok. 30 years ago: What is “Afro Latino”? [Nonexistent] What is [X] Check the box. Why do you need to know what race I am? So that the algorithm can program you. Why. BUY THIS!! TAKE THIS PILLS BUY MAKEUP YOURE UGLY DONT BE FAT BLACK POWER ALL LIVES MATTER Hey, WHAT? Where are all ya'll's kids? …wait… POOR PEOPLE I don't know. I'm at work. CELEBRITIES I don't know. You realize the only reason I'm doing this is to Get stuff for my kids, I'm not white so you're not going to pay me enough for this to pay my rent But I got fired from my job Cause my husband hit me And I haven't really been the same since And I'm from LA, so— My body is all I have to trade for just this— The only thing I want is to be able to make my children happy. If you can't afford a baby, don't have one. We could afford them— And we were getting by on love, But we were getting by (Kind of) I see you have anxiety. Yeah, I guess. Let me ramp that up. Yo, my body is stuck like this I can't surf anymore I can't pop up Everything's in a size extra small But I'm still not flat All I really want to do is Fall in love and be a mother but The only way that happens is This music and My body's tired, yo. I did all this myself so far. I raised my mother and my husband Now my son's more like a brother And I don't want anything more than just to Make him proud of me. He could do music I love his singing voice But who knows: He might be an athlete He might be a doctor or lawyer He could be A scientist I'm from LA, so I would trade it all for the perfect body I would do anything just for someone like Sonny To love me Oh, you're a gold digger It's not about money, but I'm from LA, so It's about survival All the celebrities girlfriends are interchangeable You have to fit in For someone like him To bring you around his friends Because He wants to impress them He has to Because He's from LA, so— So this is not a job? Actually? Pays less than McDonald's. Working at McDonald's isn't that hard But the disrespect is what makes it one of the hardest jobs— And in reflection You're being disrespected by people Who disrespect themselves enough To feed their body McDonald's. Not just for fun— But as food. Food is supposed to be fuel. What's this. This is filler. LABELED AS: FOOD. MEXICO: (and probably other countries) DON'T EAT THIS. THIS IS NOT FOOD. Now it becomes a choice. OTHER COUNTRIES: You can't eat this! This is banned! This is poison. AMERICA: Can you add a little more depression to this? MOM You know Jimmy Fallon? wtf. why r u asking me this? MOM His wife is his manager Oh, this timeline. What a train wreck. What timeline is this? Like, the actual one. Ok. He's from LA, so— Dillon Francis would need a wife that can do many things for him. What. Thought this was about Skrillex. SKRILLEX My mom died. I'm aware. Dillon Francis would need a wife that meets the status quo. Which one is she? Any of these. Hm. Dillon Francis is an elitist. Not untrue. Dillon Francis is not racist. … Kind of. I'M NOT— Yo, this is culture shock. You're gonna go through some culture shock. What. The fuck. Is this. Dead on arrival. You're too stupid to actually understand what's going on. She's not worried about spending an entire paycheck on Nikes because she doesn't have to be. She doesn't have to concern herself with Spending money on Changing her hair to suit Respectable standards Black women wear wigs and weaves because our natural hair genetically makes white women uncomfortable. This is expensive. The more natural your hair is, The less respect and acceptance you will receive from your white counterparts. That is, of course, unless something about you is so inherantly black that she can't be a threat to you. *presumably You see, as a white woman, She assumes that she is better than you regardless of your actual skin tone, nationality, or class placement— She has been raised to understand that everything is below her— The world has always been in her favor, So she doesn't have to try hard at much (Or at all) But her making any effort at all Of course Is “Hard work” I WORK HARD. I— You deserved this. This is valid. Oh my God, she's so cute. (Very tiny girl) I love her. She's so great. There is no cure for mental illness. The majority of mental illness is man-made. Mental illness more drastically effects people of color and women— Marginalized people, in a structured society where misogyny and idealism Cause with intention The degradation of the human spirit. Love, kindness, and generosity is lost To corporate greed, capitalism, and the separation of the classes. I'm not good enough, regardless of color To sit down in a room with anybody and given any credibility whatsoever— But my depression comes from living my whole life on the backburner— And when it's finally ITS YOUR TIME! If you've ever felt like life's challenges are weighing you down, but you're ready to break free and thrive, then this is the episode you won't want to miss. Prepare to be captivated by a tale of resilience and triumph as we hear from personal development coach Nick Rivas. Nick's journey from battling with porn addiction to reclaiming his life is nothing short of inspiring. Through sheer determination and a commitment to confronting his vulnerabilities, Nick not only conquered his demons but emerged as a beacon of strength and positivity. Join us as we uncover the strategies that propelled Nick from a place of self-doubt to one of unparalleled success in every aspect of his life. It's time to supercharge your mood and unleash your unstoppable potential! Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: How Nick's 10-year struggle with porn addiction ruined his life How following a daily non-negotiable process changed his life for the better Overcoming porn addiction and all vices Experiencing peak physical and mental performance How Nick increased his monthly income from $0 to over $10k [00:49] From Addiction to Transformation Nick opens up about his over 10-year struggle with porn addiction, which left him feeling weak, lacking confidence as a man. At one point in July 2022, he had reached his breaking point and was seriously contemplating suicide. Desperate for a change, he invested in a coach who taught him the importance of diet, fitness and mindset. By committing to a daily non-negotiable routine, Nick began to feel better about himself than ever before. Where he once felt a "dark cloud" over his head, now his outlook became more positive. [03:00] Non-Negotiable Daily Habits Nick describes how his coach taught him the importance of establishing a daily non-negotiable process. This included focusing on his diet, fitness, and positive self-talk. Nick discusses how faithfully following this routine, especially on days when he didn't feel like working out, made a huge difference in how he felt. Through consistently applying these habits each day, Nick found himself experiencing flow states during workouts and envisioning the best version of himself. Repeatedly taking action to shape his character through diet and exercise ultimately lifted Nick to new heights of physical and mental performance. He credits these daily disciplines with fully transforming his life for the better. [06:57] Facing Problems Head-On Nick had encouraged listeners to face the problems in their lives head-on instead of running away from them, as he used to do with his porn addiction. When you directly confront challenges and problems instead of escaping them, it allows you to get to the root cause and shift onto a more positive trajectory. Nick found all the answers he needed by facing his problems courageously rather than hiding from them. Only then was Nick able to fully transform his life and heal himself. Notable quotes: [03:24] Look at all the problems that you're having, and actually run into them. Don't run away from them. For fifteen minutes it seemed Arsenal were the complete team, but was that down to West Ham's passivity? What does the result from the London Stadium mean for both teams - are Arsenal now back in the title race, if they were ever out of it; and for West Ham is a contract for David Moyes more or less likely? The result at Spurs was not reflective of an end to end encounter. Brighton refuse to take a backward step and Spurs now have all their players available again. After the break, what/who is Scot McTominay? A six, an eight, a ten or a throwback. The team try to figure it out. He helped Utd to a key win. Villa lost, but played well. Finally, Gregor went to meet Luton forward Elijah Adebayo but he was an unlucky omen for a great lad. Oh and Alyson is getting excited about Xabi Alonso…Timeline:West Ham v Arsenal4' Hard for arsenal to win a title with some many London derbies to negotiate. West Ham have a good record against Arsenal.6' Trossard was superb. 15 min spell with four goals. They had everything for that spell. Pace, power, grace, intelligence.9' Arsenal were in control, they made it a technical contest. Last season it felt like it got tense and emotional.10' the asterix is West Ham are all at sea.11' Gregor thought West Ham were passive.13' easy to extrapolate too much from games like this. Just one win.16' West Ham fans might have seen this performance coming. Team set up on the back foot.17' West Ham have some good players, could do something under a more progressive coach. Tottenham v Brighton20' to teams better at pressing than playing out from the back. Repeatedly stealing the ball off each other in the final third.21' It came down to both teams not quite having the quality in the final third, Son made the difference. The quality makes the difference in those fine margins.23' it was all about Son, it felt like he had been away for a year.24' Spurs are looking good, they've got all their options back for the first time under Postecoglou26' Spurs need more out wide if they are going to progress to the next level.27' Brighton missing the cutting edge up front. But still doing remarkably well with the resources they have and the type of football they play.28' Brighton - Playing above themselves, brilliant to watch and a clear style of play.Scott McTominay and Villa v Utd31' Jack of all trades or will he be a 8 or a 10? Always looked like he would be a destroyer rather than a goal scorer.32' for all his appearances and goals he still won't be a starter.34' Its not definitive that he can't start. 35' Any parallels with John McGinn at Villa, not quite a centre mid or a ten?36' Are their good players being phased out who can't do what the modern creative/pressing era requires.38' This is Utd from last season, grabbing wins they shouldn't whilst not playing very well. But still amassing the points.40' Villa have had a dip, but yesterday they played well and felt they were unlucky not to win.41' Utd now seem better placed to finish top four than Villa…But spurs look good.Luton v Sheff Utd43' Spent a long time at Fulham without playing for the first team. Appreciates where he is now.44' The energy at Luton comes from players who have had to fight to play top level football.47' Sheff Utd were fearless. Didn't come for a draw. Bundesliga 48' Leverkusen deserved their great win against Munich. Poor Harry Kane looks like he might not win a title.50' some of Leverkusen's patterns of play were amazing. 52' Alonso is nothing like Klopp, that could be a really good thing. IF he goes to Liverpool. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Before I fled south, I spent years as an aspiring fiction writer in the hermit kingdom. I worked hard – but literary glory kept eluding me. By Kim Ju-sŏng. Help support our independent journalism at theguardian.com/longreadpod
Presented by Lauren Stibgen The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit (Proverbs 15:4). How should we have grace with our words? I find there are two ways we use our words negatively, especially when it comes to work. The first is self-talk, and the second is gossip. Neither extends grace, and both are rooted in sin apart from Christ. There are leading movements that promise to help us with positive self-talk. The words we use for ourselves can often be as harmful as the words we speak to and about others. I have found the words working women often use for themselves are borne of discouragement or on the opposite end of the spectrum, pride. Discouragement says “I am not enough, I will never get the promotion, or I won't find a job.” Pride says, “I am better than, or she can't.” Gossip and slander are pervasive in the workplace. More often than not, we find it is easier to remark about what isn't going right or what someone isn't doing than it is to celebrate someone's success. Research shows 75-95% of gossip contains a morsel of truth. 96% of employees admit to engaging in gossip at work. A study about gossip shows more than 40 minutes per week are spent solely in gossip, and, yes, women are worse than men with close to 80% of women admitting to engaging in gossip. Noted consequences of gossip at work are lack of trust, jealousy, alienation, hurt feelings, and low morale. Being Christian doesn't exclude us from this 96%. Remember, grace covers a multitude of sins, and maybe like me, you want to be better with your words both to yourself and about others. Ephesians 4:29 tells us to have no corrupting talk come from our mouths, but only such is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Grace. What if we spent those 40 minutes building others up? If you work a typical week, that is eight minutes a day. Focused energy on speaking those morsels of truth to a person rather than about a person. Maybe you don't gossip but spend time in negative self-talk. Spend those eight minutes with life giving affirmations about what Christ says of you. The tongue has the power of life and death. Repeatedly, the bible highlights how powerful our tongue is. In fact, in James 3:6, the tongue is described as a fire, and a world of evil among the parts of the body setting the whole course of one's life on fire. No human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil. Words can give grace. Heavenly father, set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips (Psalm 141:3).
Alpine's A524 F1 car has finally been unveiled to the public (sort of), alongside the Alpine A424 LMDh Hypercar at their London launch, alongside drivers Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Mick Schumacher and more. Repeatedly described as an "aggressive" car, it's been completely redesigned, according to the team, including a new, carbon-fibre-heavy pair of liveries. But will it help the team fight their way into the top 5, or drop them down the pecking order? Sam Hall chats with Jon Noble live at Alpine's launch (with a special guest!) and Jake Boxall-Legge to discuss everything interesting from Alpine's launch. Learn more about your ad choices. It's easy to forget the importance of nurturing our relationship with ourselves. During our day, the demands of work, relationships, and expectations put on us by others mean that taking a few moments each morning to practice self love affirmations can be a game changer. This simple yet powerful ritual can set the tone for the day, fostering a positive mindset and enhancing our overall well-being. Self love affirmations act as seeds of positivity that, when planted in the fertile soil of your consciousness, grow into a lush garden of self empowerment. By starting your day with words of kindness and encouragement, you create a mental landscape that encourages optimism and resilience. These affirmations act as a shield against negativity, helping you navigate the challenges of the day with a positive mindset. Repeatedly affirming your worth and capabilities contributes to the development of self confidence. When you acknowledge your strengths and embrace your uniqueness through affirmations, you reinforce a healthier self image. This newfound confidence can positively impact various aspects of your life, from professional endeavors to personal relationships, empowering you to pursue your goals with determination and grace. The soothing rhythm of self love affirmations serves as a balm for the mind, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety. What will 2024 look like? Political/Rights Pelosi, AOC, Other House Dems Hit with Ethics Complaint – Accused of ‘Repeatedly' Misusing Funds An ethics watchdog has filed an ethics complaint against 10 Democratic lawmakers, claiming that they are using public resources for partisan political purposes. The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust said the Democrats “repeatedly” used official resources for political gain, according to a news release on its website, naming Democratic Reps. Nancy Pelosi of California, Cori Bush of Missouri, Jamaal Bowman of New York, Sean Casten of Illinois, Greg Casar of Texas, Maxwell Alejandro Frost of Florida, Ted Lieu of California, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Ritchie Torres of New York. Although Democratic Rep. Ayanna Presley of Massachusetts was not mentioned in the release, exhibits of her allegedly using official resources for political gain were included in the examples filed with the complaint. “The law at issue is simple,” the release said, noting that government resources cannot be used for “campaign or political purposes.” The release said that “official House photographs and video, government buildings, a Member's official website and social media accounts, and anything created by government employees” are considered off-limits. “The rules additionally reiterate that campaign social media accounts cannot contain any official content or resources and cannot re-post official social media posts,” the release said. However, FACT said the Democrats regularly use official resources or content on social media, honing in on X, formerly known as Twitter. To make its point, the complaint attached 91 pages of examples. One example showed Pelosi using House video on a campaign website. Another showed Omar using C-Span footage on her Instagram account, while another example showed Pressley speaking on the House floor in a post on X. “These violations are rampant and obvious, and clearly the OCE's failure to act has encouraged continued violations. This failure has also incentivized these Members to use House proceedings for political campaigning rather than doing what is in the best interest of the country,” Kendra Arnold, Executive Director of FACT, said in the release. “Likewise, it is also clear why these Members are doing this, it's for a political advantage and one that is paid for by the taxpayers. The OCE has both the authority and a clear responsibility to ensure each ethics violation is dealt with...

Good morning, church. Today, I have an important announcement. One that's difficult but also exciting. As some of you know, I've spent the last twenty-five years in ministry. The last fourteen of which, have been dedicated to planting and building Pierce Point. For those doing the math in your head, that's right, I started when I was just nineteen years old. As you all know, (show ministry meme) with ministry comes a very close relational element that element includes blessings along with challenges. Seven years ago, our church went through the most significant of these challenges: a church split. That challenge fundamentally changed me as a person. Though not all of you were here to experience it, those who were know very well the profound wounding I and my family experienced. Repeatedly over the past seven years, I have been met with—what feels to me—a recurrence of this wounding on micro levels. Multiple families and individuals deciding to leave our church family. Some have been willing to speak with me about their decision. Many do not. (And an even smaller number allow their opinion to be better informed) Adding to this, the repeated feedback that we do receive focuses on me personally and on perceived disappointments in my care or leadership. With each person or family who walks away, I am forced to relive misconceptions, mistruths, and accusations against my character that I endured during the church split. Each time another person or family—whom I've poured love and help into—blames me for their dissatisfaction and accuses my care of not being enough, it becomes more difficult to recover emotionally. I find myself relating to Scriptures such as Proverbs 16:28 (A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.) and Psalm 55:12-14 (If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God as we walked about among the worshipers.). As time passes and these instances continue, my ability to bear up under this weight has diminished to the point where I am unable to continue. Please understand I love what I do, church. I know what gifts have been given to me. I know how God has used them. I know the care I've given and the man that I am. But I also know the toll that this takes and the healing I need. So, I've created a strategy for that healing and it begins with stepping down from leadership and focusing the strengths and skills that God has gifted me with in a new and different arena. My goal will be what it always has been: seeing people grow, but it will be achieved in a way that allows me to heal and recover some of the joy I lost. I owe this to my family. Moving forward, I will be focusing on the launch of a coaching business in which Steph (whom most of you know) and I will work to bring life, purpose, and clarity through meaning and worldview coaching. Also, with the approval that I've been given by the leadership here, we'll be offering more traditional forms of coaching and Christian counseling to individuals, couples, and/or families through the church.

So there's that.Dan, how you doing, motherfucker?Track 1:[0:46] Hi, JV, I'm doing okay, thanks. Yeah, all is good here, I think.Track 2:[0:50] Nice to talk to you again.Track 1:[0:52] Yeah, it's good to be back on.Track 2:[0:54] Yeah. So, um, let's get right to it.Talk to me about your experience or your pavement origin story.Like what was that experience like?Track 1:[1:09] I think when I was at art college, a lot of people were playing snippets of pavement stuff, you know, I didn't necessarily know what it was.Um, I remember hanging out with a guy in his car and he used to have like speakers off an actual stereo in the back of his car, you know, like speaker cabinets, wooden speaker cabinets. And I remember him blasting, um, a bit of Westing through there as well and feeling pretty interested in that. But it was really when i went to university and i was at um i was at this girl's house you know and we'd been sort of drinking all night and she put on this tape and one side was gentlemenby afghan wigs and the other side was crooked rain and crooked rain just blew me away you know i think that that had impacted me on first listen more than any other record ever has ithink you know holy shit yeah i think that just the the way it builds up those first two tracks are are just amazing you know there's nothing else like it and then of course it goes into stopbreathing and it's like oh my god okay this is too much man yeah um but after that i actually um.[2:14] I got back into them and had a load of stuff on tape and i was playing along with it on my as well but i actually worked at um glastonbury in 1999 just so i could see pavement aswell you work um yeah yeah yeah so what were you like a usher or something uh yeah you you work on the the gate so you take people's you know tickets and exchange them for thewristbands and then in the evening well it was actually um ultra violet sort of um stamped and um yeah you know and then you'd have to check people in and out at the at the night timeyou do three eight hour shifts so you do 24 hours at the festival but my shifts lined up nicely so that i got out of went pavement wrong and um perfect it was it was it was a crazy goodafternoon yeah yeah yeah, Um, and then after that, yeah, say I saw them on the reunion tour and then, uh, the rest is when I kind of saw them with you, basically Primavera London. Yeah.Track 2:[3:13] That was great. Talk to me a little bit more about, talk to me a little bit more before we go into the London shows.Cause those were really special, but talk to me a little bit more about Glastonbury.Like what was the set like for that? What I was 99. So they were on the last leg sort of, of, of terror twilight.Track 1:[3:32] Yeah yeah yeah so there was there was a lot of terror twilight i mean um i can't find any footage of this but basically when they when they came on stage they were introduced bythis dude it just came on was a friend of theirs and i think he was like either like a pub landlord or like some, bookmaker from brixton you know this random guy that they loved and heintroduced the band, and they came on um yeah i think it was it was there was a mixed bag but it was it was quite very twilight heavy but i just remember the outstanding thing from thatwas just like folk jam was amazing really i've i've a folk jam or platform blues yeah i still i need to look at that set list now and just to remember but the thing about that is that i um i stillhave the 35 uh millimeter sort of camera film undeveloped from that western experience yeah it's been sitting there for what nearly like 24 years now so i've still got to get that done so ihave Where do you even get film developed now?Places will do it, but I just never got around to it. I've got about 14 rolls of camera film from my life.I get to look. Yeah, well, it's a time capsule, yeah. But I'll do that, yeah. I'll do that.Track 2:[4:45] I want to see those. Yeah.Track 1:[4:48] And you'll get to see how scrawny I was back in 99.Track 2:[4:54] Half Dan from London.Track 1:[4:57] Very much so, yeah. Beanpole. But that was cool. Also on the bill, either before, I think it was directly before them, was Wilco during the summer period. So that was pretty cool as well. Yeah.Track 2:[5:10] Oh, what a great lineup.Track 1:[5:12] Yeah, the chip felt good for that. Yeah.Track 2:[5:14] I won tickets to Glastonbury one year. I got a call from a radio station.I entered a contest and I won and they called me on a Friday and my plane would have left on Monday to go.Um and it was exactly 10 years after i won another contest it was like 10 years to the weekend i won a trip to saint john's newfoundland to see a secret concert by molson canadian beer uhso anyway 10 years later i win tickets to glastonbury uh so that would have been, In 2004, I guess, 2004, 2005. I don't know what the lineup was, but they were booking my, they weregoing to book my flight that night and I needed a passport and I didn't have a passport. So I couldn't accept the prize. And they were like, sorry, it was in the terms and conditions that you had to have a passport. And I was like, I can get one.Like I can get, I can fast track it.Track 1:[6:22] And i could have it by monday and they're like sorry we need to book the flight and i was like are you fucking kidding me oh man i'll have to look and see who was on that lineupwho did i miss yeah but i mean it's you know glastonbury is not what it used to be you know it's no it's been steadily sort of gentrified really yeah so it's like coachella is now but i meanwhen i was when i was uh working on the gates a couple of funny things happened so one of which we had our suntan lotion stolen from us so we were just getting burned out there allday the second was the second was there was this guy and he had this big bottle of vodka pulled out of his bag and they're like you can't bring that bottle in here you know so um he sat bythe side of the queue, um and he just started knocking back this vodka this like i don't know barely 18 year old guy, and um you know he pretty much got like halfway through the bottleand was just looking absolutely off his face and then he pulled another you know bottle out of his bag and it was a bottle of coke and he was pouring the coke into dilute it and then helooked his coke bottle which was plastic and he just like it's like oh fuck because basically it was the glass bottle he couldn't take in so he could have tipped it into his coke bottle he couldhave kept the vodka but he'd met like half a bottle so he had this realization in this burning hot sun and the security guy I clocked it and he was just like, okay, just, you know, pour it inand bring it on in, you know, and I saw this poor guy stagger through and that was his start of his festival. He was wasted beyond belief.[7:52] Holy shit but also um the perimeter fence that they have there i i saw people like throwing, like dogs over i saw like a family sort of the guy got over and then they threw the babyover the the fence and he caught that and then his wife came i mean it was just pretty mental yeah.[8:11] Yeah so you know i don't think you get that much of that these days oh that's cool what a fun experience so that was that that was your first time seeing them then, 99 yeah yeah yeahyeah yeah because i mean i was at reading when they played but um i retired to my tent to make some beans yeah i remember you telling me that yes but i i so i didn't see them with garybecause i was too busy eating beans because you didn't know of them at that point yet.[8:40] I wasn't overly overly overly familiar with them no right you hadn't listened to the cassette yet the the the crooked rain cassette the infamous crooked rain cassette incident yeah thatwould literally happen like a year later or something you know so yeah to see them with gary would have been really interesting um i i think there's some gary there's definitely some garytracks in in this top 50 list and uh it'll be interesting to revisit those tracks like after listening to so much westy and i think westy's a great drummer but gary is just it's just different it's justdifferent yeah i i i love gary gary's um i think other people have said it but there's something kind of melodic about gary's beats as well you know they they carry things in a different wayand and they carry things in a very atmospheric way as well which means sometimes they just turn the guitars down don't they they just let the drums come through for a bit to build upand then And they just come back in.Yeah. That's cool. It cool.Track 2:[9:43] So what was the highlight of the, obviously I was with you, um, um.Track 1:[9:49] But you have to the the rest of the audience wasn't with us so they don't know what were talk to me a little bit about the london shows, well i mean it's difficult because we did threeand it's and it's all a bit of a you know a bit of a mush in my mind you know um but i mean the the first night was it was a bit difficult because we were we were kind of really at the backand i didn't really appreciate it much from the back of the room but the next two nights when we had those phenomenal views um i mean that that was just my my dream would always behave been to see you know pavement like watching them from the side of the stage you know i mean that that's a life ambition for me and and we got that so for me it was just seeing themall in action you know from an angle that you wouldn't get to appreciate them from you know i mean like they they did it they did a huge variety of tracks every night was different wesaw three nights in a row and i wasn't bored at all yeah i mean the second night, we were there we had really really obscure stuff going on in the set list as well so that was, that was greatbut yeah i'm never like my memory's the same as yours i'm never one that can just remember certain things from certain gigs. That's why I tape, you know, that's why I videoed the whole thing. So I can watch it.Track 2:[11:11] Right. I just think my highlight was the second night on that balcony. We were there with SM's daughter and her friend and it was her daughter's birthday. And afterward we went backstage and got offered cake. And I remember just thinking, I remember thinking like, whose life am I living right now? This is fucking bonkers.Track 1:[11:38] Oh, it was good. It was good. I mean, it was so, it was so relaxed as well.It was, it was just really chilled out and, uh, uh, it was great to have that experience there.Yeah. And then, then just getting back in the dressing room, talking to, I spoke a lot to Remco, caught up with him. And then we were talking to Sparrow for a long time.Track 2:[11:55] For everybody else, who's Remco?Track 1:[11:57] Um, so Remco's, um, pretty much the sort of, um, payment European sound engineer. He does the Jicks stuff as well, but also he has the recording studio that, um, uh, was it Wig Out of Jag Bags was recorded? I can't remember which album.Track 2:[12:12] I didn't know that.Track 1:[12:13] But one of, one of them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Look it up. Yeah. But, uh, Remco's cool.Yeah. And he also does the European sound for when Spiral's touring as well.Track 2:[12:22] Oh, wow.Track 1:[12:24] Yeah, he's a cool guy.Track 2:[12:25] Yeah. I thought it was so cool when you were like, oh, that's Remco over there. And I'm like, who the fuck is Remco? And you go over and he's like, hey, Dan.Track 1:[12:32] And Remco is in Marble Valley as well.Track 2:[12:35] Oh, that's right.Track 1:[12:36] Yeah, because Marble Valley was pretty much all of Pavement's roadies apart from Steve West, obviously. Yeah.Track 2:[12:43] Yeah. yeah i haven't listened to much marble valley but i i've listened to it a couple times uh, and uh yeah i dig it i dig it i also like that unmastered masters record that he put out uhthat yeah i still need to get into that yeah yeah that was pretty good yeah yeah, well shall we uh get to the main course here sir dan dan lisa yeah far away all right well Well, what we'regoing to do is take a brief intermission and we'll come back on the other side and talk about track number 49.Okay. So now we'll play the song. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.And then the song will fade out or no, it won't fade out because it's got a fucked ending. It's got a really fucked ending. So we'll talk about that. Um.So we'll come back in. All right. We are back and you heard it.Track number 49, Best Friend's Arm.Dan, what are your thoughts?Track 1:[13:49] Oh, man. Well, this track was really my introduction to Wowie Zowie.I didn't own it at the time. And my friend Andy used to have it.And out of all the tracks, I used to make this and put this on repeatedly.Repeatedly uh say we used to sit on the floor and listen to it and i used to roll around kind of i wasn't exactly laughing but it's just like i just couldn't get over how mad and how fun thattrack is yes you know it's i have the word i have the word frenetic written down oh yeah yeah yeah yeah i mean you know it's got a huge amount of energy but it's also, very obscure it'sone of the most obscure tracks the pavement have done i i would say and um um it's an enigma as well in my mind this yeah the verses are the verses are like screamed out in like a punkway you know it's uh i don't know that there's any other vocal, uh performance by sm that is quite like best friend's arm like it it really is one of a kind.[14:58] Yeah i'll i'll tell you what i have in my notes because because it's kind of interesting what i came up with because this analyzing this track just broke me completely you know um sobasically like yeah you know it's two minutes 19 uh again it's the perfect bridging track between extradition and grave architecture which are both pretty mad tracks but extradition has gotthat wonkiness that brings you into this yeah um but it's like this is fast and loose sounds like it's spur of the moment and probably like a one-take thing but in the beginning so it soundswith what sounds like a snippet of a phone call like a bit of an authoritarian woman's voice saying no you don't have to which is weird you never get that on anything else particularly awoman's voice and then you've got the whole sort of start thing which is almost akin to um silent kid you know with the whole sort of like tambourine sounds bob doing some mad moognoises there's feedback, It just sounds like the band has been teleported in, you know, to this studio or this event that they're at and they're running late and they just, this is the sound I'mgetting teleported in, bang, they arrive and then they have to get going straight away, you know? And it's like, Mountmas is almost like making up time, you know?Track 2:[16:21] Yes.Track 1:[16:22] Yeah.Track 2:[16:23] I love that.Track 1:[16:25] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But, but also the, the other analogy that I had for this as well was, um, you know, this is like, um, in back to the, Marty's band in back to the future when they'reauditioning for the, for the spot at the prom show, you know, and it's the whole, you're just too darn loud thing. It's for me, this is like a pavement take on that, you know, it's like imagining themselves in that situation and just like trying to, I don't know, like almost like as an amateur band come upwith this loud sound, that's going to try and impress someone and it just doesn't yeah it's pretty mad who's doing the backup vocals on it is it sm singing his own backups on the track idon't know about live like live obviously he doesn't but, yeah well i mean this this is the whole thing about it's obviously like he's singing the main bit which is just basically unintelligibleand then you've got the yeah almost like the call and response i can see i mean i was gonna ask you is it like is it like spiral is it like Like, Bob, I don't know.Track 2:[17:23] It sounds like Steve to me.Track 1:[17:26] But when you get further down into the track as well with the best friends arm bit, it's like, who, the first part of that you hear, the first few lines, you know, that come in, like, whois singing on that? Because it sounds like an English voice. It's like, it's just weird. And then the backing on that, the rest of the band join in, you know, singing the line, but they're all singing it in a different way every time as well.Have it's yeah like the harmonies and everything they're just totally different so.[17:57] Um it's it's just crazy you know i mean you know the thing i was going to say about the lyrics are that they are just delivered at such a speed and with such ferocity that they're kindof unintelligible and then you the first bit where you do get to section of the song that actually sort of dies down a bit where you kind of get you know the jazzy ride rise that ends on thatweird weird flat note and then you get the big low bit and um you know the guitars fall away and the drums are there and it's just like steve starts singing and you're thinking oh my godi'm actually gonna be able to hear what he's saying and then he basically just says um well i mean what what does he actually say there is it like my baby's got the postage in the line yeahit's got a postage in the line yeah yeah but it's almost sounding like a low and sort of pathetic kind of club singer, style and it's like yes yes this yeah and it's like i can hear what you'resaying but it has no resemblance to anything else it sheds no light on the situation no and it's the same thing as the old i can see i can see i can see bits it's like those sound like they're froma different song song completely you know it's it's it's crazy yeah fuck it really is crazy is like it's.[19:19] Is it kosher to say the word schizophrenic at this point like it's it's the song is all over the place yeah yeah I mean that's that's the thing I love the most about it I mean.[19:32] The sounds in there are crazy as well because it's all carried on you know by our eyeballs bass and eyeballs bass is just like so madly overdriven that it sounds like some kind of outof control, lawnmower and then towards the end it like sounds like some kind of out of control bus or you know and the best friends armpit and then the the guitars are clean you knowthey're sort of chimey either jazzy or melodic and it's just crazy yeah and the as you say the guitar solos they're schizophrenic as well you've got two guitar solos going on they don't reallybear much relation to each other they're you know in harmonic and yeah it's just like they're just going for it it's like if you go to a restaurant and you go into the kitchen and you see allthese ingredients, that don't work together you know like and then the chef comes in and mixes them together in such a deft way that you eat this end product and you're like fuck this isdelicious but it shouldn't be it shouldn't be it doesn't like if we were to listen to the individual tracks on this song like like break it down and listen to the tracks, you would never think thatthese tracks fit together.Track 2:[20:52] If that makes sense.Track 1:[20:54] Yeah. You, you, you could not design this song. No, no. I, I, and I would, I would, I got, I, that'd be a dream come true to actually be able to deconstruct this song. Yeah. Just to hear those tracks.I mean, I would just love to hear the bass and the drums together, you know?Track 2:[21:09] Yeah.Track 1:[21:10] I mean, that that's like a strong thing that's going on, but the God, the guitars, man.Really great right yeah but i mean you know it but it is it's because it's pretty wonky and it's fun and it's like kind of don't give a fuck really isn't it you know it's just like, you know is it isit a play on the fact that like you know oh we're getting renowned for like you know saying that we can't play or being regarded as not being able to play you know is it just taking that to anew dimension taking those comments and that perspective out of proportion.I don't know. As I say, it's an enigma.Track 2:[21:50] It really is.Track 1:[21:53] Um, but did you, did you actually have a look at the lyrics because I've got them, I've got them printed out right here.Yeah. Cause whoever had a stab at that has done pretty well.I think when you put them together with what's going on, it's like, yeah, they don't, they're not accurate at all, but then you can't improve on them because what is there is just not there, you know?Track 2:[22:16] And if you can't think of anything, then you gonna drink and think it later.Later yeah and then the next line he's gone at it so hard on that line it's just a cough and then that's where you go that cough is in there yeah yeah you know but it's because he's going at amillion miles an hour yeah i really feel like you're on to something with this whole, like this might have been just you know a loosen up song you know it might have been like okay okay,we're in the studio now.Let's just rip one out before we record something proper. And then it came out and it's like, this is what it is.Pavement's a one or two take band. So I'm pretty sure that whoever was producing it might have said, I think it's Easley who produced Wowie Zowie. They might have said, have another stab at those vocals. And he's like, like, no.And they're like, yeah, but there's a cough in it. And he's like, yeah, that's it. So what?Track 1:[23:22] I mean, a cough, in that delivery is not going to improve it in any way you know it just doesn't improve the the lyrics that you're not coughing over you can't make out what the hellthey are right you know but but i mean i think i think they did it and it's just like my god this is just so such a fun song this is just so full of energy and it's just i mean it obviously makesthem smile it obviously makes them laugh you know i mean imagine playing it you know i can't did they play this on the road is this one they took out oh yeah yeah so in terms of in termsof being on the road i mean.[24:00] In terms of the lyrics you know like the you know the radio session that they've got on the sordid sentinels edition of wowie zowie right the one that was recorded in australiaobviously like the lyric bear no resemblance you know the song is nearly twice as long but then also on the road you know like the roles are are interchangeable so bob you know i've seenhim singing the verses you know and they're even the even more unintelligible you know really so yeah there's some good footage out there of them them doing it a few times in 94 i thinkas they were sort of developing the album and then a couple times in 95 i think yeah it doesn't fit on any other their record it doesn't like maybe it would fit on maybe it would fit on like.[24:47] Demolition plot or perfect sound forever maybe but it's like it's not like anything else it really isn't right i mean you know that's what i ended up doing earlier on was was you knowlooking at other tracks that had sort of uh lyrics that were sort of like low down in the mix or obscured you know in some other away you know um looking at things like i don't know uhrecorder grot and things like that yeah and um old like spizzle trunk you know and it's like yeah you've got to go back that far to get that obscure you know and and this is this is why ithink like you know why is that is like almost like a really good you know updated version of of westing yeah you know um but yeah it's it's interesting to actually be able to go back thatfar and then you know the lyrics on the stuff on westing is more intelligible than something that's recorded on a huge you know huge studio.[25:47] Um later on in their career yeah it's just it's just cool it's just so interesting yeah agreed yeah yeah um but also you know with the main line you know what do you think, keep itunder your best friend's arm means to you.Track 2:[26:07] I wish I could put it together.I don't think it's related to anything in the main part of the song.I really don't know. I should have went back and listened to my episode on Best Friends Arm to see what I thought then.Because I don't remember. I have such a piss poor memory.Track 1:[26:31] I did review the episode, yeah. But I don't think...Track 2:[26:35] I offered any insight?Track 1:[26:37] I don't think the answers are there. No, no, no.I mean, I mean, for me, like, you know, it's pretty much sort of two songs, but if there is a relation between the back half and the front half, you know, like the front half is almost like akind of like a friend listening to a drunken conversation, a drunken confession and just going, Oh yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. And it's almost like, um, yeah, you know, that, that person may have told somebody, yeah you know a secret you know or a truth that they don't want revealing to anybody else so i guesslike keep it under your best friend's arms is like keeping a secret you know oh that's cool if you were to look at the lyrics that are actually in there that you can hear i mean maybe youknow like um baby's got a postage in the line is like what somebody got pregnant i don't know but that's obviously reading way way too much in it because it's not about anything yeahthat's a a pretty big leap postage to pregnancy yeah but but for me you know i'm getting a real high school vibe from this obviously you know with my uh back to the future references andand this kind of thing yeah and then you were talking about the ending as well you know and it's like a real kind of scratch ending and it's like again it's like the whole back to the futurething of just like shut up you've got to leave the stage now no good get get off, And, uh, and they, and they disappear as quickly as they, as they came on. Yeah.Track 2:[28:06] Yeah. You know, it's just very abrupt. Very.Track 1:[28:10] Eyeball. Eyeball gets his last bit of basin before the big, you know, the big hook stick comes and pulls him off. Yanks him off stage.Track 2:[28:20] Oh, fuck. Well, man, it's been great talking to you about best friend's arm and your pavement experiences.Uh, do you have anything you want to plug?Track 1:[28:32] Oh, man. No, I mean, basically, you know, I did.I did do some recording of my experience of primavarity and pavement and me in you for the first time and hanging out with you, JD.And I'm going to try and release that on a video on YouTube at some point very soon.So there's that, which also has the full Porto primavara set, which will come out as a separate video as well. So Oh, that's exciting.Yeah. So maybe you could pass on the details, JD, when those come out.Track 2:[29:05] Yeah, I certainly will.Track 1:[29:06] Yeah. Post them up somewhere.Track 2:[29:09] Well, I want to thank you. I want to thank you again. It's been great talking to you once again, and, we'll do this again sometime.Track 1:[29:18] Yeah. It's been great. Thanks, JD.Track 2:[29:20] All right. How do we know the narrow gate refers to grace? Did the Crusades have anything to do with authentic Christianity? Why is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit an unforgivable sin? Did I commit it? God asked me to be obedient as a teenager, yet I repeatedly failed Him. Could it be that I'm not really saved anymore because of my broken promises?
