An interview with Dr. Wilfred Alik from the One Stop Center for Micronesians on Hawai‘i Island. The One Stop Center was originally formed after the restoration of Medicaid access to citizens of the Compact of Free Association (COFA) nations to help Micronesians in Hawai‘i sign up for Medicaid coverage. The organization's goal is to empower the diverse Micronesian communities on Hawai‘i island to become their own advocates. In this interview, Dr. Alik shares not only how One Stop Center supports Micronesians in Hawai'i but also the history behind why people from the Marshall Islands, Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia are coming to Hawai'i and the rights they have through the COFA. TRIBUTO: HISTORIAS QUE CONSTRUYEN MEMORIA DE LA SHOÁ, CON CECILIA LEVIT – Roman Gessler nació en 1937 en Bielsko-Biala, en el sur de Polonia, de sus padres Edward y Dora Gessler. Roman tenía dos hermanos, Alik y Lily. En 1938, una niñera católica polaca, de origen étnico alemán (Volksdeutsche), Elisabeth Hedwig Lea, se unió a la familia para ayudar a cuidar a los tres niños. Con la ocupación alemana, en septiembre de 1939, los familiares tuvieron que huir. En Lviv, la madre de Roman se suicidó y la niñera Elizabeth decidió quedarse y ayudar a cuidar a los tres niños. A fines de 1941, el padre Eduard y el hermano mayor Alik continuaron hasta Budapest, y Lily y Roman se quedaron con Elizabeth. En marzo de 1942, Elizabeth decidió llevar a los niños a Hungría a través de los Cárpatos. En agosto de 1944 la familia continuó hacia Rumania donde permaneció hasta el final de la guerra. Después de la guerra, Roman se mudó a Viena, donde terminó sus estudios. Emigró a Israel, se alistó en su ejército y luchó como paracaidista en la Guerra del Sinaí (1956), incluida la Batalla de Mitla. Our first interview of 2022 is with researcher and historian Alik Gomelsky. Originally from Kharkiv, he is a member of the Canadian Author's Association, co-founder of the Ukrainian-Jewish International Association and the author of "History: Unlearned Lessons", "Simon Petliura: Facts against Myths" and his latest: "Jewish-Ukrainian Relations. 20thCentury" (all in Ukrainian). His work is based on declassified KGB, CIA, Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and German archives along with memoirs. He focuses is mainly on historical events and personalities through the prism of Jewish-Ukrainian relations. In this episode we look through the more troublesome history of Ukrainian-Jewish relations throughout the 20th century, including the widespread pogroms that occurred in the Russian Empire, the creation of the Ministry of Jewish Affairs under the Ukrainian People's Republic, Symon Petliura's stance on Jewish affairs, a look at Arnold Margolin (a very important Ukrainian-Jewish figure), Russian and Soviet attempts to create disunity among both ethnicities and a look into this current Russo-Ukrainian war. The Mummer's Farce returns from holiday refreshed and ready for 2018! It's time to start the new year with a pair of rollicking episodes full of character trials from season 4 of Game of Thrones. Kate and Dan discuss Sansa's brief turn to the dark side, Dany's role reversals, and unlikely sympathies for (am I reading this right?) Ramsay Snow.

Characters subject themselves to due process in this pair of mid-season Game of Thrones episodes. Tyrion stands trial while Stannis is denied a loan. Dany decides to rule Meereen and Yara decides she is very afraid of dogs. Toeman is crowned as king and everyone claps and it is not supposed to be weird.

Some high highs and low lows, geographically speaking, this week in Game of Thrones as Kate and Dan find themselves hiding out in a bunch of caves, but also climbing to the top of The Wall. Elsewhere Stannis grinds his teeth, Robb gets soaked, and all of your favorite couples take baths. All that plus the return of the perma-soggy Freys and Melissandre employing her Gen-dar to somehow locate the Brotherhood's secret hideout.

Kate and Dan continue through the first half of season 2 of Game of Thrones and the wheels are slowly beginning to turn on this arc of the story. We spend a long while in Renly's Medieval Times showcase, which may seem like a folly, but at least it's not the abject misery and explicit torture happening everywhere else. We do learn that Robb is turned on by a woman who knows how to saw off a leg though.
