It is our solemn duty to inform listeners that David Lammy won deputy PMQs at a canter today. To be frank, it was a low-rent affair. Andrew Griffith was the Tory sent out to question David Lammy while Keir Starmer is in China, and the shadow business secretary didn't do a particularly good job. Perhaps he had assumed that Lammy would have another disastrous session, like he did when a prisoner was accidentally released last autumn. Cattle Industry News Livestock Market Report & Outlook From Dr. Andrew Griffith The latest livestock comments from Livestock Marketing Specialist Dr. Andrew Griffith who said prices were strong for every class of animal offered on the market, which tends to bring optimism to all involved.  This optimism leads to thoughts of expanding herd sizes to capitalize on the strong market.   He continued by saying fed cattle traded unevenly steady last week.  To put this market into perspective he asked the question, how many finished cattle does it take to purchase a new pickup truck? Assuming a 1,400-pound steer and an $80,000 pickup truck, it would take 23 head to have equal value. Using similar elementary math, it would have taken 27 head to purchase a similar yet slightly lower-priced truck in 2024, and it would have taken 25 to 26 head to purchase a similar pickup truck in 2021. This comparison means absolutely nothing other than the value of a finished steer has increased more than a pickup truck in relative terms. However, it is a rather small increase, relatively speaking. He wrapped up by saying how these relative prices change over time is not all that important. What is important is if cattle feeders are making money or not. Last week in crypto, we saw Bitcoin rise to $35k, and that trend continued with another year-to-date all-time-high this week, at the time of recording bitcoin is trading at over $36,000, passing the $36k mark. Along with other altcoins, Toncoin saw a price rise as well - to it's highest point in nearly a year. Right now, Toncoin is trading at $2.63, up over 20% from its price 30 days ago. It's suggested that this spike can be attributed to Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram who announced last week they would give away 10,000 premium subscriptions for the Telegram App. Durov specified in his announcement that he procured the premium accounts with TON tokens, totalling around $200k. Attendees at ApeFest, a convention based on the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT, returned for the event in Hong Kong this week. However, some attendees reported extreme eye pain after attending, with a small handful hospitalized. Yuga Labs, the digital assets company behind the event, shared a post on X, addressing the concerns and concluding this was likely the result of UVA emitting lights that were used at the event. London's City Minister, Andrew Griffith, is championing the role of crypto in London's financial portfolio. In a recent conversation with David Merritt, Griffith shared he perceives London as a potential hub for emerging domains such as cryptocurrency and AI, capitalizing on London's reputation for quality and trust. Griffith stated: “I think it builds naturally on our strengths in terms of things like tech and payments”.

Prime Minister Liz Truss and Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng are set to meet with the head of the Office for Budget Responsibility, known as the OBR and the country's independent forecaster, to discuss the situation. One of the reasons the markets reacted so badly to the chancellor's tax cutting plans released a week ago is that there was no accompanying economic forecast from the Office for Budget responsibility. Last night, the OBR confirmed that it was ready to produce an updated assessment of public finances to be published with the mini-budget a week ago, as is usual practice, but the offer was rejected.
