Concerns about a civil war within the Sinaloa Cartel have escalated following recent events that suggest the breakdown of a fragile truce between factions loyal to Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada and "Los Chapitos," the sons of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán. Tensions have intensified since the capture of Zambada, with reports indicating that his faction, known as the Mayiza, has declared war on Los Chapitos. This rivalry stems from a long-standing power struggle, but the arrest of Zambada has brought the conflict into the open, leading to violent clashes across Sinaloa. The two factions are reportedly mobilizing armed forces, with "Los Chapitos" controlling around 5,000 gunmen, while El Mayo's faction leans on decades-old alliances. Violence has flared in key regions, including Culiacán, with narco-blockades and shootings resulting in casualties and significant disruptions to public life. Analysts suggest that Guzmán's sons, including Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, are positioning themselves to dominate the cartel, potentially prompting more bloodshed as both sides vie for control of the organization. The Mexican government has responded by deploying military forces to the area, but many fear that this growing internal conflict could destabilize the region even further.(commercial at 10:35)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Violence spreads in Mexico amid fears Los Chapitos and El Mayo faction have ended truce | International | EL PAÍS English (elpais.com)

The Los Chapitos are a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, led by the sons of the infamous drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán—Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, Ovidio Guzmán López, and Joaquín Guzmán López. After their father's arrest and extradition to the United States, they stepped into leadership roles within the cartel, focusing heavily on the production and trafficking of synthetic drugs like fentanyl, which has become a major source of revenue.Known for their ruthless violence and strategic use of modern technology, Los Chapitos have maintained and expanded their father's empire, despite internal conflicts within the cartel and external threats from rival groups like the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). They are also known for their flamboyant public personas, often showcasing their wealth and power on social media, which has made them both icons and targets in the criminal underworld.Their rise has made them significant players in the global drug trade, particularly in the United States, where they are seen as a primary source of the fentanyl that has fueled the opioid crisis. Despite their power, they face constant challenges from law enforcement and rival factions, making their future uncertain.(commercial at 11:48)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

A blend of Manhunt, Killing Pablo, and Zero Dark Thirty, Andrew Hogan and Douglas Century's sensational investigative high-tech thriller - soon to be a major motion picture from Sony - chronicles a riveting chapter in the 20th-century drug wars: the exclusive inside story of the American lawman and his dangerous eight-year hunt that captured El Chapo - the world's most wanted drug kingpin who evaded the law for more than a decade. Every generation has a larger-than-life criminal: Jesse James, Billy the Kid, John Dillinger, Al Capone, John Gotti, Pablo Escobar. But each of these notorious lawbreakers had a "white hat" in pursuit: Wyatt Earp, Pat Garrett, Eliot Ness, Steve Murphy. For notorious drug lord Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán-Loera - El Chapo - that lawman is former Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Andrew Hogan. In 2006, fresh out of the DEA Academy, Hogan heads west to Arizona, where he immediately plunges into a series of gripping undercover adventures, all unknowingly placing him on the trail of Guzmán, the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, a Forbes billionaire, and public enemy number one in the United States. Six years later, as head of the DEA's Sinaloa Cartel desk in Mexico City, Hogan finds his life and Chapo's are, ironically, on parallel paths: They're both obsessed with the details. In a recasting of the classic American Western on the global stage, Hunting El Chapo takes us on Hogan's quest to achieve the seemingly impossible, from infiltrating El Chapo's inner circle to leading a white-knuckle manhunt with an elite brigade of trusted Mexican marines - racing door to door through the cartel's stronghold and ultimately bringing the elusive and murderous kingpin to justice. This cinematic crime story following the relentless investigative work of Hogan and his team unfolds at breakneck speed, taking the listener behind the scenes of one of the most sophisticated and dangerous counternarcotics operations in the history of the United States and Mexico.

The trial of the world's most notorious drug trafficker best known as "El Chapo" began with opening statements in a New York federal courtroom Tuesday. Nancy Grace digs into the case against Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera with an expert panel including Southern California prosecutor Wendy Patrick, psychologist Caryn Stark, lawyer Jason Oshins, forensics expert Karen Smith, and reporter Robyn Walensky. Watts' parents gave an interview this week in which they express disbelief that their son would have killed the children and they suggest the wife had a role.
