Decades ago, the homes in a Palm Springs neighborhood known as Section 14 were deemed eyesores and officials wanted to promote tourism. So they forced out the mostly black and brown families who lived there. Crews tore down everyone's homes, and then burned them, sometimes with people's personal possessions still inside. The city made a public apology in 2021, but survivors are still waiting for additional support. Guests: Pearl Devers, Section 14 Survivor and Areva Martin, Civil Rights Attorney A Popeyes Chicken franchisee is paying more than $200,000 for child labor and other violations at restaurants in East Oakland, Newark and Tracy. Known for his work in the courtroom and the classroom, Harvard Law School's Charles J. Ogletree Jr. is being memorialized by the many he mentored, including former President Barack and first lady Michelle Obama. One of his students, civil rights attorney Areva Martin, was particularly inspired by his work to restore the justice historically denied to so many, including the victims of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. Martin represents more than 700 survivors and descendants of Palm Springs Section 14 in their quest for reparations after their community was racially targeted, burned out and bulldozed by the city of Palm Springs in the 1950s and 60s. In this episode of "Equal Time," author, activist, attorney and media personality Areva Martin joins Mary C. Curtis in a conversation some Americans would rather avoid. Is resolving America's unpaid debt to many of its citizens necessary before the country can move forward?

THE THESIS: The rare and safe days are over. The new abortion crusaders shout their abortions the same way slavers shouted their ownership, brownshirts shouted their victories and the Khmer Rouge shouted to their orders to shoot. For the new abortion fanatics, it's the oldest of evils: “they aren't really human, you know?” THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES: Acts 2:14-41 - Peter Addresses the Crowd 14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'[a] 22 “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,[b] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25 David said about him: “‘I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope, 27 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. 28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'[c] 29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, “‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand 35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”'[d] 36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Luke 12: 4-10 4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. 8 “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. 9 But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. THE NEWS & COMMENT: The Figurehead imagines the world's religions can't figure out when life begins. Christianity knows. God knew us before we were “formed in the womb.” [AUDIO] - Biden: "Roe says what all basic, mainstream religions have historically concluded, that the existence of a human life and being is a question: Is it at the moment of conception? Is it six months? Is it six weeks?...The idea...we're going to make a judgment...goes way overboard." Lizzie Warren was happy to force people to get shot up with mRNA. Now, though, she is legitimately furious that some states may be able to ban abortion, which would protect the life and bodly sovereignty of a child. [AUDIO] - Liz Warren is angry (and being guided along in walking like she should be convalescing) It is utterly lost on the CNN crew that, when you rely on “rights” invented by courts--rights “given” by government--you will see those “rights” taken by other governments. That is why actual rights--which limit what government can do to us and for us, which recognize only God can provide some things, are so important. [AUDIO] - CNN Grumpycats: Gay “Marriage”, ‘Many Rights' People ‘Enjoy' Are in Danger With Early Start co-host Laura Jarrett (and daughter of Obama confidante Valerie Jarrett) off, the show's left-wing analysis was left to legal analyst Areva Martin, who said she's had feelings of “[a]bsolute utter shock, dismay, disappointment, and even anger” and then stated as fact that “many rights...we as citizens enjoy...not explicitly mentioned in the Constitution” could be “eviscerat[ed].” Of course, as it always is with tyrants, the hypocrisy rages. Remember the absurd questioning of Marjoire Taylor Greene last week? They asked her about the movie, Independence Day and then they blamed her for some people being violent. Contrast and compare to this week: Julie Kelly notices protesters breaking the same federal stature that put Jan 6 paraders in jail: Clearly a violation of 1512(c)(2) -- Where is DC US attorney? Julie Kelly also reminds us of what has been used against President Trump in court: This tweet has been cited repeatedly in court docs as evidence Trump encouraged people to come to DC to launch an “insurrection.” This is TAME compared to the tweets we're seeing today by VP and Dem lawmakers Jelly Kelly, again: Comments less inflammatory than this have been used against J6ers in court as evidence of plans to participate in violence. Is a candidate for Florida Attorney General calling for an insurrection? A revolution is a successful insurrection. Horse drugs are good now guys. Bill Gate is becoming a champion tyrant, practicing the tool of all tyrants: being capricious. He it outraged, he says, that women are losing their right to direct their own “healthcare.” But, Bill is also planning to force his code into their bodies with mosquitoes and self-spreading “vaccines.” And, I don't recall Bill being concerned about the bodily autonomy of the girls and young women Epstein raped and trafficked [AUDIO] - Bill Gates squirms nervously while struggling to answer questions about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
