Germany holds the world's second biggest national gold reserves after the US, of which approximately €164bn (£122bn) worth – 1,236 tonnes – is stored in New York. Emanuel Mönch, a leading economist and former head of research at Germany's federal bank, the Bundesbank, called for the gold to be brought home, saying it was too “risky” for it to be kept in the US under the current administration. “In the interest of greater strategic independence from the US, the Bundesbank would therefore be well advised to consider repatriating the gold.” Source: zerohedge.com Trump Suggests He Can Send $2,000 Tariff Rebate Checks Without Congress Bessent has also suggested the $2,000 benefit might not take the form of direct cash disbursements. the Treasury secretary said while he had not yet finalized details with Trump, the “dividend could come in lots of forms,” such as through tax reductions already under consideration—including exemptions for tips, overtime pay, and Social Security benefits, among other deductions. Much of what you're witnessing is a COVER UP for this Theft and Fraud. The Mayor and the Governor are inciting Insurrection, with their pompous, dangerous, and arrogant rhetoric! On May 10, 1973, a stranger walked into a bank on Main Street in Kenora, Ontario, carrying guns, duffle bags, and a homemade bomb that was armed to a switch he clenched between his teeth. For more than an hour the standoff dragged on inside the bank as a growing crowd of onlookers crowded the street outside it's doors. At 4:12 p.m., a single rifle shot ended the robbery in an explosion that shattered windows, scattered money through the air, and erased the man at the center of it all. More than fifty years later, his identity and his motives remain unknown. In this episode of The Canadian Gothic, I'm joined by Jack Luna, host of the Dark Topic podcast, to examine the Kenora Bank Robbery Explosion. The bizarre, true story of a robbery gone wrong and the explosive murder that shocked the nation—as seen on Netflix's docuseries Evil Genius. For the first time, two of the people who followed the story from the beginning—Jerry Clark, the lead FBI Special Agent who cracked what became known as the Pizza Bomber case, and investigative reporter Ed Palattella—tell the complete story of what happened on August 28, 2003.In the suburbs of Erie, Pennsylvania, a pizza delivery man named Brian Wells was accosted by several men who locked a time bomb around his neck. They then ordered him to rob a bank. After delivering the money, he would receive clues to help him disarm the bomb. It was one of the most ingenious bank robbery schemes in history, known as Collarbomb by the FBI. It did not go according to plan.Wells, picked up by police shortly after the robbery, never found the clues he needed. Investigating the crime after his grisly death, the FBI soon discovered that Wells was not, in fact, an innocent victim. He was merely the first co-conspirator to fall in a bizarre trail of death following the crime...https://amzn.to/49Xb2jIBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

On May 10, 1973, a masked man entered a Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce branch in Kenora, Ontario, armed with firearms and a homemade bomb strapped to his body. What began as a bank robbery quickly turned into a public spectacle, broadcast live on radio as police, civilians, and hundreds of onlookers watched the standoff unfold on Main Street. When a single gunshot triggered a massive explosion, the robber was killed instantly leaving behind a scene of destruction, unanswered questions, and an identity that remains unknown more than half a century later. Our other podcast: "FEARFUL" - https://open.spotify.com/show/56ajNkLiPoIat1V2KI9n5c?si=OyM38rdsSSyyzKAFUJpSywMERCH:https://www.redbubble.com/people/wickedandgrim/shop?asc=uPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/wickedandgrim?fan_landing=trueYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@wickedlifeFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/wickedandgrim/ Instagram:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wickedandgrim/?hl=enTwitter: https://twitter.com/wickedandgrimWebsite: https://www.wickedandgrim.com/

We're going to the 80s for our 162nd show. You know we're all about Hidden Gems and there was some talk about doing Wishamster 2 for this podcast, since we had such a great time covering the original last show. But instead we decided to honour the director of Wishmaster 2 by covering another of his films. One of several he made for New Line Cinema back in the 80s. This guy is not very well known and neither is this film, which makes it perfect for the podcast. So we hope you enjoy as we give the Horror 101 treatment to Jack Sholder's The Hidden from 1987. Jeffrey Morgan isn't your typical coach. He's a life strategist and the 2024 Australian Mindset & Life Coach of the Year. Jeffrey grew up in Eveleigh St, Redfern, known as The Block, a place of hard, tough streets where even the police don't want to go. Riots, violence, drugs, and theft led to him spending 20 years behind bars for bank robbery. After losing his parents to cancer and his brother and sister to suicide, he made a decision: no more excuses, only extreme ownership. He rebuilt his life from rock bottom and turned it into a 7-figure global business working with the Australian Defence Force, the NRL, elite athletes, government agencies, and top corporate organisations. On the 20th December, 2004, £26.5 million was stolen in plain sight from the Northern Bank in Belfast. This wasn't a victimless crime, but some saw it as a caper. Most believed only one organisation was capable of pulling off an operation of this scale. On Free State today, the great writer Glenn Patterson joins us to discuss his new book on the Northern Bank robbery and what it tells us about Ireland. Patterson talks about his own identity too, growing up in a Protestant estate. Belfast has changed he says, but he reflects on what he believes is still holding integration back. Hosted on Acast. Elmer J. McCurdy (January 1, 1880 – October 7, 1911) was an American outlaw who was killed in a shoot-out with police after robbing a train in Oklahoma in October 1911. Dubbed "The Bandit Who Wouldn't Give Up", his mummified body was first put on display at an Oklahoma funeral home and then became a fixture on the traveling carnival and sideshow circuit during the 1920s through the 1960s. After changing ownership several times, McCurdy's remains eventually wound up at The Pike amusement zone in Long Beach, California, where they were discovered by crew members for the television series The Six Million Dollar Man and positively identified in December 1976.
