On this episode of The Driven Woman Entrepreneur Podcast, we dive deep into the value of membership models for business owners who have reached capacity with one-on-one work or want to scale and don't want to run a group coaching program. Our guest, Lisa Princic, shares her insights into the flexibility of membership programs, which she has been specializing in helping coaches and consultants launch and grow for several years. We also discuss the key pillars for a successful membership program, including mentorship, education, and community, and how to align these with your pricing and value offerings. Lisa and I are both analytical and didn't hold anything back in this discussion, including talking about potential pitfalls and considerations when choosing a membership model, as not all models work for every business or audience. They delve into specifics like who the membership model is suited for, pricing, and promotion, but first, they discuss the speaker's journeys in choosing a membership model for their business. We even talk about why some popular membership programs ended up closing and why. During our conversation, I share some of the misconceptions I had about the membership model and how learning from Lisa helped me to see the value in the different types of membership structures that can appeal to different people. Tune in for a thoughtful and informative discussion on how to create a membership program that aligns with your values and unique abilities, while delivering scalable value to your clients. Yvonne Arnold of Hattiesburg dropped out of high school to get married in 1955. In this episode, she remembers her decision to get a General Equivalency Diploma or GED, some thirty years later. When Arnold took the GED test in 1985, she scored the highest of anyone in the Hattiesburg area. She explains how a story in the local newspaper led her to enroll at USM as a 48-year-old freshman. Arnold continued to work fulltime while taking night classes at USM. After two years, it became increasingly difficult to get all the courses she needed at night. She recalls how her son convinced Dr. Aubrey K. Lucas to give his mother a special needs scholarship. After graduating in 1990, Arnold continued working as a USM Archivist until her retirement in 2008. PODCAST EXTRA: Arnold grew up in Hattiesburg in the 1930s and 40s. She shares her earliest memories of Southern Miss and Dr. R.C. Cook. Have you ever been in a meeting with a boss, or colleague that is much older (or much younger), and you just can't seem to get your point across? No matter which angle you try to take there seems to be this wall that neither side can break through. This is exactly how Jessica Stollings started her career. When she launched her career, she couldn't understand the lack of feedback she was looking for from her boss, and when she did get feedback it made her seem as if she was a complete failure. That led to a unique journey where she would spend an hour a week, which spawned from a Starbucks Gift card from a friend, to do research into the challenges in communication between generations. What amazed me about Jessica's story is how she took a personal struggle and turned it into a business. What you will learn on this episode of The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast: -How listening can help bridge the communication gap -The value of committing 1 hour per week to discovering your passion -The importance of being discipline (week after week) -Why understanding how generations communicate can have a huge impact on your career To learn more, and connect with Jessica, visit www.douglasjfoley.com/35 BONUS: To sign up for the Platform Playbook click here: www.douglasjfoley.com/platformplaybook
