In deze aflevering praten de geeks met hun gasten Alex Mazereeuw en Patrick Knegt over rampenfilms waarin de aarde bedreigd wordt door een object uit de ruimte. Ons huiswerk was Meteor (1979) Armageddon (1998) Deep Impact (1998) Don't Look Up (2021) en Moonfall (2022) maar we bespreken ze overkoepelend omdat er genoeg overeenkomsten zijn. We hebben het over wat deze films zo leuk (maar vooral niet goed) maakt, de representatie van wetenschappers en NASA, tikkende klokken en waarom we eigenlijk allemaal een hekel hebben aan Armageddon. Terugblik: Alex en Patrick keken allebei Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in de bioscoop maar de meningen zijn verdeeld. Alex merkte dat bij hem de Marvelmoeheid aan het toeslaan is en vond dat de film een beetje van alles deed en daarom van alles net niks. Patrick is als diehard Marvelfan wel wat enthousiaster al heeft de film zijn hoge verwachtingen niet helemaal waar kunnen maken. Alex is ook bezig met het laatste seizoen van Better Call Saul (Netflix) de prequel van Braking Bad die hij eigenlijk beter vindt dan z'n voorganger. Patrick keek ook nog de seizoensfinale van Moon Knight (Disney+)en vond het heel erg tof: anders en misschien toegankelijker dan we van Marvel gewend zijn. Ook was hij bezig met The Flight Attendant (HBO Max) een spannend moordmysterie met een hoofdrol voor Kaley Cuoco uit The Big Bang Theory. Thom kreeg voor zijn verjaardag een Xbox Series S van zijn vrienden en zit daarom nu helemaal vast in Elden Ring: een prachtige maar onmogelijke moeilijke RPG met een heerlijke wereld om in rond te dwalen. Linda was naar The Northman en was erg blij met Alexander Skarsgård, Alexander Skarsgård en Alexander Skarsgård. Verder vond ze het ook wel een goede film. Ook is ze nog steeds bezig met het herkijken van True Blood (HBO Max) en ook daar was ze weer erg blij met Alexander Skarsgård. De vooruitblik: Patrick heeft een Playstation 5 weten te bemachtigen en heeft gelijk Guardians of the Galaxy en Spider Man: Miles Morales besteld. Ook heeft hij heel veel zin in Thor: Love and Thunder. Alex hoorde verassend goede dingen over Top Gun: Maverick dus is daar eigenlijk wel benieuwd naar. Ook heft hij zin in The Old Man: een thriller met hoofdrollen voor de fantastische oude mannen Jeff Bridges en John Lithgow. Thom is voorzichtig benieuwd naar Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, een biopic over het leven van Weird Al Yankovic. Niet omdat hij nou zo'n fan is van Weird Al maar omdat Daniel Radcliff hem gaat spelen. Linda vindt dat er te veel uit aan het komen is maar heeft toch zin in The Staircase een true-crime thriller waarin een schrijver van thrillers verdacht wordt van een moord. Gebaseerd op een gelijknamige docuserie uit 2004.

Then the discussion delves into the range of movies and does Netflix and other streaming services spell the end of cinemas? Trust me, this is when you want to sit back with a cup of tea and watch the sparks fly. Best news is that apparently most of the original cast is back for this, including Ian McShane. Also some other movies in the works are Braking Bad, a new Super Mario movie (please, please, please don’t be a crappy as the last one) and also Steven Universe. So we will get to enjoy more from Dakota, check in on the crystal meth scene and hope the DJ stops doing weird accents.Buck brings us news of a real life working tractor beam that has been developed in Oz! A team working at the University of Adelaide has made science-fiction a reality for us, although on a reduced scale. But it is a start and now we have lasers and a tractor beam, now we need force fields and shields, please. Buck and the Professor geek out about the possibilities that this tractor beam represents for the future; which in reality is pretty darn sweet, right?Also we hope everyone who attended Supanova Brisabne had as much fun as we did. Czas na kolejny #przecinekprzerywnik tym razem z gościnnym udziałem Pawła Badury z podcastu Kreatywne Zagłębie.  Rozmawiamy więc o grach a także o  kosmosie, morderczyniach, kosmitach, wiedźmach i ostrych przedmiotach. Nie zabrakło też poleceń podcastów.  W tym odcinku rozmawiamy o: Książce:"Jeszcze krótsza historia czasu"  Stephena Hawkinga. Jest to pozycja opowiadająca  o tym co się dzieje we wszechświecie. Wymaga nieco gimnastyki intelektualnej aby wszystko zrozumieć ale uzyupełniona o ilustracje staje się dużo łatwiejsza. Jest bogata w dużo metafor pozwalających wyobrazić sobie skalę zjawisk o których opowiada.  Robię tu dygresję o Kanemanie i mam na myśli książkę “Pułapki myślenia” których jestem fanką.  Komiks: Wiedźmy Uparcie drążę temat horrorów i komiksów i tym razem łączę tematy. “Wiedźmy” to komiks w którym za scenariusz odpowiada Scenariusz: Scott Snyder a za rysunek: Jock. Jest podobno bardzio popularny w kręgach komiksomaniaków. To co w całej historii zainteresowało mnie najbardziej to dodatki. Jedna częśc dodatków pokazuje metodę za pomocą której powstał komiks czyli szkice, proces  kolorowania i dodawania napisaów. Druga część to felietony w których autor tłumaczy skąd w nim potrzeba straszenia innych i siebie. Jest to coś na co czekałam od dawna poszukując odpowiedzi na pytanie komu to i na co. Paweł pyta też o to jak powstaje komiks a ja na pytanie nie odpowiadam bo opowiada o tym świetnie Marek Lachpwicz, autor komiksów który wszytko nam wyśpiewał w odcinku siedemnastym. Paweł uwielbia grać w gry. Dlatego w swoim podkaście często nawiązuje do tego tematu.  Rozmawiał więc redaktorem naczelnym  CD- Action i Kamilem Zawodnym, streamerem z Twicha . U mnie opowiada o tym jak jak wraz z kolegami grywa na konsoli.  Przyznaje się do bycia członkiem teamu xbox. Gra: Elite Dangerous Poleca grę Elite: Dangerous - przemierzamy w niej wkosmos za sterami statku. Można być tam dobrym lub złym człowiekiem, handlowcem lub  żołnierzem . Fajne w  graniu online wraz ze znajomymi jest to, że podcza gry mozna pogadac na rózne tamaty.  Gra przedstawia 1 do 1 wszytkie odkryte przez ludzkość układy słoneczne.  Gra powstałą około 3 lata temu ale pierwsza wersja jest w wieku mojego gościa :) Książka : Katarzyna Bonda "Polskie Morderczynie" - audiobook. Są to hisgtorie 14 kobiet - morderczyń. Każdy rozdział podzielony jest na dwie części, jedna bazuje na aktach sądowych, druga na rozmowach z kobietami. Książka strasznie mnie zirytowała, rozzłościła. Spodziewalam się historii z dreszczykiem, przemyślanych morderstw z premedytacją.  Smutana reflekcja jednak jest taka, że wiele z tych morderstw to morderstwa z bezradności. Aktualnie odcinki czwartego  sezonu ukazują się co wtorek. Sezony są intersujace o tyle, że w pierwszym odcinku  widzimy zajawki przyszłosci w których Jimmy  zajmuje się zupełnie czym innym niż w pozostałych odcinkach.  Opowieść o prawniku  któremu niespecjalnie w życiu wychodzi do czasu kiedy schodzi  z klasycznej ścieżki rozwoju kariery ;) Film: Arrival  ( Nowy początek) O kosmitach którzy przybywaja na ziemię. Zaletą są ograniczone efekty specjalne, którymi inne filmy SF lubią być nafaszerowane.  Widzimy jedynie kilka lokacji.  Opowiada o dwunastu statkach kosmicznych (pięknych! moja ulubiona wizja statku!) na ziemi i kosmitach starających  się skomunikowac z ludzkością....

We really are spoiling you with our pod-guests these days. Hot-on-the-heels of Ex Machina's Alex Garland and Evolve's Phil Robb, we've now got games journalist-turned-screenwriter Gary Whitta joining Chris and Gav for an epic cast. Whitta started out in the games industry in the late 1980s before making the transition to film via The Book of Eli and Another Earth. For the last year he's been busy working in a galaxy far, far away, writing the first standalone movie in the new Star Wars cycle, which will be directed by Gareth ‘Godzilla' Edwards and hitting screens December 2016. Gary doesn't reveal much about the movie – bound as he is by the mother of all non-disclosure agreements – but he does talk about his love of The Empire Strikes Back, how the original trilogy inspired his generation of writers and filmmakers, and what working on this new movie has been like as a creative experience.  Oh, and his failure in a Star Wars quiz many moons ago also gets a (somewhat unfair) mention. If that weren't enough, Gary offers his advice to aspiring screenwriters, talks about games as an art-form in the 21st Century, explains where's he's at with his adaptation of Mark Millar comic Starlight, tells an AMAZING story aboutFrank Darabont, and gives us the skinny on his forthcoming novel Abomination, which is available via pre-sale this Monday, February 9. Braking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul hits Netflix this week so the boys discuss their hopes and fears for the show, while the conversation about potential TV reboots rumbles on, with Star Trek, The Crystal Maze and Green Wing all getting a mention in reader feedback. Out this week includes games Gunman Clive 2, Game of Thrones Episode 2 and Evolve, while the big movie releases are Selma, Shaun the Sheep and Jupiter Ascending.
