The DNA evidence in the Paul Caneiro trial is now on the record, and it's devastating. Forensic scientists testified that blood from eight-year-old Sophia Caneiro was found in three locations on jeans recovered from her uncle Paul's basement — shin, calf, and thigh. Her eleven-year-old brother Jesse's DNA was there too. A surgical glove fused to the jeans by frozen water also carried Sophia's DNA. These items were found fourteen miles from where both children were stabbed to death in Colts Neck. Sophia suffered seventeen stab wounds. According to findings cited in court, she may have still been alive when the fire started beneath her. Prosecutors say whoever killed those kids wore those jeans, wore that glove, and brought them home. That's the physical link tying Paul Caneiro to this crime. Meanwhile, testimony confirmed Keith Caneiro was killed with a contact or near-contact shot through his hood — an execution-style wound delivered while he was already down. The night before, Keith had confronted Paul about $77,000 missing from a family trust. The defense is pushing contamination theories and questioning the investigation, but the children's blood is in Paul's basement. That's what the jury has to reconcile. This episode covers the Day 12 testimony and what it means for the case.#PaulCaneiro #CaneiroTrial #HiddenKillers #ColtsNeckMurders #DNAEvidence #TrueCrimePodcast #SophiaCaneiro #JesseCaneiro #QuadrupleMurder #ForensicEvidenceJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Breaking testimony from the Paul Caneiro quadruple murder trial. New Jersey State Police forensic analysts confirmed DNA from both Sophia Caneiro, age 8, and Jesse Caneiro, age 11, was found on clothing in their uncle Paul's basement. The children were stabbed to death fourteen miles away in Colts Neck. Sophia's blood appeared in three separate locations on a pair of jeans — shin, calf, thigh. Her DNA was also on a black surgical glove frozen to the denim. Jesse's DNA showed up as part of a mixed sample. Prosecutors argue Paul Caneiro wore those items when he allegedly killed his brother Keith's entire family, then brought them home. Sophia was stabbed seventeen times. Court findings suggest she may have still been breathing when the fire was set beneath her. Keith Caneiro was shot execution-style — a contact or near-contact wound through his hood while he lay face-down on his lawn. The night before, he'd confronted Paul about $77,000 missing from a trust account and demanded answers by 8 p.m. Prosecutors say what happened next was Paul's response. The defense is raising contamination questions, but the physical evidence linking Paul to the murders is now before the jury. The trial continues through mid-March.#PaulCaneiro #TrueCrimeToday #CaneiroTrial #ColtsNeckMurders #DNATestimony #QuadrupleMurder #KeithCaneiro #SophiaCaneiro #JesseCaneiro #MurderTrialJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Trust account expert Lazaro Cardenas explained something to jurors this week that changes everything about the Colts Neck murders: Keith Caneiro's $3 million life insurance policy was structured so that Paul would only benefit if Keith, Jennifer, AND both children were all dead. Not just Keith. All four of them. According to prosecutors, this is why 11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia weren't spared. They weren't collateral damage. They were allegedly necessary casualties. A detective testified that Sophia had a stab wound to her left eye. The final recorded phone call between Keith and his brother Paul captures a man demanding answers hours before his murder. "Give me the f***ing login, Paul!" Keith is heard saying, giving his brother a deadline to provide access to a trust account. Prosecutors say Keith had discovered Paul was stealing from their shared businesses and was cutting him off from a $225,000 salary. A neighbor put a timestamp on the killing. Dennis Corpora testified he woke up around 3:20 AM on November 20th, 2018. "I heard the shots, and I said, 'Someone just got whacked.'" Hours later, four people were dead and the mansion was burning. Prosecutors say Paul shot Keith outside the home, then went inside and stabbed Jennifer and the children before setting the house on fire. Hours earlier, he allegedly set fire to his own Ocean Township home while his wife and daughters slept inside. The defense wants jurors to look at a third brother, Corey, claiming police never investigated him. But the murder weapon, silencer, night-vision scope, bloody jeans with the children's DNA, and a go-bag with a passport were all found at Paul's house. For the defense theory to work, Corey would have had to commit quadruple murder and plant all the evidence. That's not reasonable doubt. That's fiction.#PaulCaneiro #KeithCaneiro #ColtsNeckMurders #JenniferCaneiro #MansionMurders #CaneiroTrial #MonmouthCounty #FamilyAnnihilator #TrueCrimeToday #CourtTVJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The final recorded phone call between Keith Caneiro and his older brother Paul was played for jurors this week—and it captures a man demanding answers hours before his murder. "Give me the f***ing login, Paul!" Keith is heard saying, giving his brother a deadline of 8 p.m. to provide access to a trust account. New testimony in the Paul Caneiro murder trial has revealed what may be the most haunting detail yet in this seven-year-old case. Detective Joseph Cordoma testified that blood stain patterns inside Keith Caneiro's Colts Neck kitchen indicate eleven-year-old Jesse Caneiro was a "mobile blood source" - moving around the kitchen island, leaving blood on surfaces, tracking toward the foyer and the front door. Jesse's body was found at the base of that island. Jennifer Caneiro's family left the courtroom before the detective explained his conclusions.Cordoma also testified the mansion fire was intentionally set in a basement storage closet around 3 a.m., with the Verizon line cut to prevent the alarm from transmitting. The fire burned slow for hours by design. Meanwhile, prosecutors presented testimony that Keith's computer server went offline at 3:18 a.m. - and that Paul later texted an employee claiming Keith had messaged him about the power being out. If the prosecution's timeline holds, Keith was already dead. The defense continues to raise questions about Corey Caneiro, the third brother who was never investigated and whose DNA was never collected. Paul Caneiro maintains his innocence. The Paul Caneiro trial continues in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where prosecutors allege Paul murdered his brother Keith, sister-in-law Jennifer, and their two children — 11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia — in November 2018. According to the prosecution, Keith had just discovered Paul stole $78,000 from a trust account. The confrontation allegedly triggered a massacre. Keith was shot five times. Jennifer was shot and stabbed. And little Sophia was stabbed 17 times, including a wound to her eye — and prosecutors say she was still alive when the fire was set.On True Crime Today, psychotherapist Shavaun Scott analyzes the psychology of family annihilation. What happens when someone who's been living a financial double life gets cornered? Why do family annihilators often kill everyone — including children — rather than face exposure? And what does extreme overkill violence tell us about the perpetrator's mental state? We examine key trial evidence including surveillance footage showing Paul disconnecting his security cameras at 1:28 a.m. and testimony about doctored bank statements. Witnesses described Paul and his family sitting calmly outside their own burning home — which prosecutors allege Paul set on fire as a "ruse" while his wife and adult daughters were inside. The Paul Caneiro trial has exposed one of New Jersey's most disturbing alleged family annihilations. Prosecutors say Paul murdered his brother Keith, sister-in-law Jennifer, and their two children — 11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia — at their Colts Neck mansion in November 2018, then set the house on fire. The alleged trigger? Keith had just discovered Paul stole $78,000 from a trust account. Hours later, his entire family was dead.Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott joins Hidden Killers to analyze the psychology driving family annihilation. Why does financial exposure sometimes trigger mass murder? What does the overkill violence — Sophia was stabbed 17 times including a wound to her eye and was allegedly still alive when the fire started — tell us about the perpetrator's psychological state? And how do family annihilators rationalize killing children they supposedly loved? We break down the prosecution's timeline, including surveillance footage of Paul disconnecting his cameras at 1:28 a.m., and examine testimony about his behavior after allegedly setting his own house on fire with his wife and daughters inside. Witnesses described Paul and his family sitting calmly in a Porsche outside the burning home. If someone had just survived what they believed was an attack, what would we expect to see emotionally? Shavaun explains what genuine trauma looks like versus performance — and what Paul's courtroom tears might actually mean.#PaulCaneiro #ColtsNeckMassacre #FamilyAnnihilation #KeithCaneiro #SophiaCaneiro #JesseCaneiro #ShavaunScott #TrueCrimeAnalysis #KillerPsychology #HiddenKillersJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? What makes a family member turn killer? Three active cases are forcing that question into focus. Nick Reiner stands accused of stabbing his parents, director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, to death at their Brentwood home. He has a documented history of schizoaffective disorder, eighteen rehab stays, and a 2020 mental health conservatorship. His attorney withdrew while insisting Nick is "not guilty of murder"—signaling an insanity defense. Paul Caneiro is on trial in New Jersey for the 2018 murders of his brother Keith, sister-in-law Jennifer, and their two children at the family's Colts Neck mansion. Prosecutors say financial desperation drove the killings after Keith discovered Paul stealing from their businesses. Testimony this week included the final phone call between the brothers and graphic details about the children's injuries. Michael McKee, a vascular surgeon whose medical license had expired, pleaded not guilty to four counts of aggravated murder in the shooting deaths of his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband Dr. Spencer Tepe. Ballistic evidence allegedly ties a gun from McKee's property to the crime scene. All three cases involve family members. All three involve alleged warning signs that went unheeded. And all three leave the same question: what should families do when troubled becomes dangerous?#NickReiner #PaulCaneiro #MichaelMcKee #RobReiner #KeithCaneiro #SpencerTepe #MoniqueTepe #FamilyMurder #TrueCrimeToday #MurderTrialJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? This week we're covering three cases that force the same devastating question: how do families know when a troubled relative has become genuinely dangerous? Nick Reiner is charged with stabbing his parents, legendary director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, at their Brentwood home. His attorney withdrew while insisting Nick is "not guilty of murder"—signaling a likely insanity defense based on his documented schizoaffective disorder and years of erratic behavior. Paul Caneiro is on trial in New Jersey for the 2018 murders of his brother Keith, sister-in-law Jennifer, and their two children at the family's Colts Neck mansion. Prosecutors say financial desperation drove him to kill after Keith discovered he was stealing from their shared businesses. Jurors heard the final phone call between the brothers—Keith demanding account access hours before his death. And Michael McKee, a vascular surgeon, has pleaded not guilty to killing his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband Dr. Spencer Tepe in Columbus. Police call it a "targeted" domestic violence attack, with ballistic evidence allegedly linking McKee's gun to the scene. Former FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke joins us to examine what the escalation patterns in these cases reveal—and what families should watch for when love and accommodation are no longer enough.#NickReiner #PaulCaneiro #MichaelMcKee #RobReiner #KeithCaneiro #MoniqueTepe #FamilyMurder #BehavioralAnalysis #TrueCrime #HiddenKillersJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Three family murder cases, three critical developments, one live breakdown. Nick Reiner's arraignment in the stabbing deaths of his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, has been pushed to February 23rd after attorney Alan Jackson withdrew while insisting his client is "not guilty of murder" under California law. Legal analysts expect an insanity plea based on Nick's schizoaffective disorder and 2020 conservatorship. We'll examine the behavioral warning signs that stretched back to childhood—and what FBI behavioral expert Robin Dreeke sees in the escalation pattern. In New Jersey, Paul Caneiro's murder trial has entered its second week with devastating testimony. Jurors heard Keith Caneiro's final phone call to his brother—"Give me the f***ing login, Paul!"—hours before he was shot five times outside his Colts Neck mansion. A detective testified that 8-year-old Sophia had a stab wound to her eye. The defense claims investigators ignored a third brother. And in Ohio, surgeon Michael McKee pleaded not guilty to murdering his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband Spencer Tepe. Prosecutors say ballistic evidence links a gun from McKee's property to shell casings at the scene. The last known phone call between Keith and Paul Caneiro was played for jurors in Monmouth County Superior Court—and it reveals a man at the end of his patience. "I need it—I need it. Give me the f***ing login, Paul!" Keith demanded, giving his brother until 8 p.m. to provide access to a trust account. By the next afternoon, Keith Caneiro, 50, was dead on the front lawn of his Colts Neck mansion with five gunshot wounds. Inside, his wife Jennifer, 45, and their children—11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia—were found stabbed and burned. Paul Caneiro, 58, is on trial for four counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors say greed drove Paul to slaughter his brother's family after Keith discovered he was stealing from their shared businesses. Testimony from a financial crimes detective revealed multiple transfers from Keith's trust account into Paul's personal account with no repayment. Hours before the Colts Neck fire was reported, Paul allegedly set fire to his own Ocean Township home while his wife and daughters slept inside. Evidence includes bloody clothing with DNA matching the child victims and a gun matched to the murder weapon. Paul's defense attorney claims investigators ignored a third brother. The testimony in Paul Caneiro's quadruple murder trial has turned graphic. A Colts Neck detective told jurors that when eight-year-old Sophia Caneiro's body was removed from the burned mansion, he noticed she had stab wounds—including one to her left eye. Sophia's father Keith, mother Jennifer, and 11-year-old brother Jesse were also found dead inside the home on November 20, 2018. Paul Caneiro, Keith's older brother, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors say Paul shot Keith multiple times outside the mansion, then went inside and stabbed Jennifer and both children before setting the house on fire. Hours earlier, Paul allegedly set fire to his own Ocean Township home while his wife and daughters slept inside—a move prosecutors say was designed to make it look like the entire Caneiro family was being targeted. The motive, according to prosecutors: Keith had discovered Paul was stealing from their shared businesses and was preparing to cut him off from a $225,000 salary. Jurors heard the final phone calls between the brothers, including Keith demanding login credentials for a trust account. Paul's defense attorney says he's innocent and claims investigators never looked into a third Caneiro brother. Paul has been in jail without bail since his arrest the day after the murders—more than seven years ago.#CaneirioTrial #PaulCaneiro #KeithCaneiro #SophiaCaneiro #ColtsNeckMurders #MansionMurders #JenniferCaneiro #MonmouthCounty #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillersJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Week two of Paul Caneiro's murder trial has brought damning financial testimony and a defense theory that points at someone else entirely. A detective specializing in financial crimes testified about bank records showing transfers from Keith Caneiro's trust account into Paul's personal account—with no payments going back. Prosecutors say the theft totaled at least $75,000, and that Keith was preparing to cut Paul off from their shared businesses and his $225,000 salary. The night before the murders, Keith forwarded a company email stating Paul would no longer be paid. Paul Caneiro, 58, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the November 2018 deaths of his brother Keith, sister-in-law Jennifer, and their two children, 11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia, at the family's Colts Neck mansion. Prosecutors say Paul shot Keith, stabbed the rest of the family, then set the house on fire. Evidence includes blood-stained clothing found at Paul's home with DNA matching his slain relatives, and a gun linked ballistically to the bullets that killed Keith. Four lives were lost in the early morning darkness of Colts Neck, New Jersey. Keith Caneiro and his wife Jennifer… along with their eleven-year-old son Jesse and their eight-year-old daughter Sophia died inside their own home. But this case isn't just about what happened inside that house. Hours earlier, flames were already rising at another Caneiro residence miles away. As investigators peeled back the layers, they began to question whether this family was targeted and could it be even more intimate. Now, Paul Caneiro, the victims' own brother and uncle, stands trial for the murder of four people and prosecutors are laying out a chilling story of greed, deception, and desperation. The defense is arguing Paul is the victim of a botched investigation, tunnel-vision and assumptions, rather than proof. Who killed the Caneiro's? And the answer to that question may determine everything.#PaulCaneiro #KeithCaneiro #JenniferCaneiro #JesseCaneiro #SophiaCaneiro #ColtsNeck #OceanTownship #MonmouthCounty #NJTrial #CourtTV #NicoleWallace #ChrisDecker #MonicaMastellone #ProfilingEvil #TrueCrimeCommunity #GIS #Esri #Crime #Criminal #Trial #GardensOfEVIL========================================https://gamutpodcasts.com/show/gardensofevilinsidethezionsocietycult/========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================================

The Caneiro brothers were supposed to be best friends. They were each other's best man. They talked every day. They built a business together. But prosecutors say one brother was bleeding the other dry — stealing from his life insurance trust, doctoring bank statements, living a $700,000 lifestyle funded by fraud. When Keith Caneiro finally demanded answers about missing money, prosecutors allege Paul responded by driving to his brother's Colts Neck mansion in the predawn darkness and executing the entire family.Keith was shot five times on the front lawn. Jennifer was shot and stabbed inside. The children — eleven-year-old Jesse and eight-year-old Sophia — were stabbed repeatedly. A detective testified that Sophia had a stab wound to her left eye. Prosecutors say both kids were still alive when the fire started. They died from smoke inhalation while bleeding out in their own home. Then, according to the state, Paul went home and set his own house on fire — with his wife and daughters inside — to make it look like both families were being targeted. When first responders arrived, the family was outside. Officers testified they were sitting in one of the family's cars, a Porsche. Calm. Composed. Giving statements. The evidence trail prosecutors have laid out is staggering: the murder weapon in his basement, DNA evidence on clothing, altered bank records, security footage showing him disabling cameras at 1:28 AM. This is a case about masks — the kind a man wears when he's pretending to be successful, and the kind that slips when the lie finally catches up.#PaulCaneiro #ColtsNeckMurders #MansionMurders #FamilyAnnihilator #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #KeithCaneiro #NewJerseyMurder #SiblingRivalry #MonmouthCountyTrialJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The Paul Caneiro quadruple murder trial is underway in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Prosecutors allege Caneiro shot his brother Keith, stabbed his sister-in-law Jennifer, and brutally killed his 11-year-old nephew Jesse and 8-year-old niece Sophia inside their Colts Neck mansion on November 20, 2018 — then set the house on fire to cover his tracks. According to autopsy findings cited in a civil lawsuit, Sophia survived for nine hours after being stabbed 17 times, ultimately dying from smoke inhalation. The State's case includes bloody jeans and gloves with the children's DNA found in Paul's basement, ballistics linking a gun in his home to the murder weapon, and security footage showing him disconnecting his cameras at 1:28 AM. Hours later, Paul's own Ocean Township home caught fire — allegedly another arson he committed to make it look like his family was being targeted. The defense says police had tunnel vision. They're pointing at Corey Caneiro, the third brother, who was never investigated and whose DNA was never collected — despite standing to inherit $1.5 million from the same life insurance policy. A civil lawsuit alleges Corey took control of the insurance proceeds and bought a $1.8 million home within a year of the murders.Paul Caneiro has maintained his innocence for seven years. He faces life without parole if convicted. Paul Caneiro is on trial for the 2018 quadruple murder of his brother Keith, sister-in-law Jennifer, and their two children — 11-year-old Jesse and 8-year-old Sophia — inside their million-dollar Colts Neck, New Jersey mansion. Prosecutors say greed drove Caneiro to slaughter his own family after Keith discovered he'd been stealing tens of thousands of dollars from their shared businesses. The most devastating detail: according to autopsy findings cited in a civil lawsuit, Sophia was stabbed 17 times across her 45-pound body and survived for approximately nine hours, dying of smoke inhalation after her uncle allegedly set the house on fire. The prosecution's evidence includes bloody clothing found in Paul's basement with DNA matching the children, a 9mm handgun, matching ammunition, and security footage showing Paul disconnecting his home cameras at 1:28 AM the night of the murders. Hours later, Paul's own house caught fire — prosecutors say he set it to create the "illusion" his entire family was being targeted. But the defense is pointing at someone else: Corey Caneiro, the third brother, who police never investigated and whose DNA was never collected. Corey stood to inherit $1.5 million from the same life insurance policy. A civil lawsuit alleges he took control of the insurance proceeds after the murders and bought a $1.8 million home less than a year later. He denies these allegations.Seven years after the murders, the trial is finally underway. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (06/11/2024): 3:05pm- A jury in Wilmington, Delaware has found Hunter Biden guilty on three felony charges related to lying on a background-check he submitted when acquiring a firearm in October of 2018. According to reports, the president's son could face up to 25-years in prison and a fine up to $750,000. Could President Joe Biden pardon his son—and would that potentially impact his status as the Democrat Party's 2024 presidential nominee? 3:30pm- In a new article for Politico, Ben Schreckinger documents the numerous connections between Joe Biden aides and the Biden family's business. He writes: “For years, Joe Biden shared a bookkeeper with his son, Hunter. He also shared a personal lawyer with his brother, Jim. And when Jim Biden wanted to know more about one of Hunter Biden's associates, he hired the former head of Joe Biden's Secret Service detail to investigate. Since 2019, Joe Biden has repeatedly distanced himself from his family's business dealings, saying that he has never so much as discussed them with his relatives or with anyone else. But House impeachment inquiry interviews, public records and emails reviewed by POLITICO show that members of his inner circle were regularly enmeshed in those dealings: Many of the president's closest staffers and advisers have doubled as his relatives' business associates, both during and after their stints working for the man at the center of the Biden family orbit.” You can read the full article here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/08/joe-biden-aides-family-business-dealings-00161476 3:40pm- In reaction to President Joe Biden's abysmal approval ratings, statistician Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight suggested that it might be in the Democrat Party's best interest to replace Biden as their 2024 presidential candidate. According to RealClearPolitics polling averages, Biden now trails Donald Trump in all seven key swing states and is only up 2-points in Democrat strongholds like Minnesota and Virginia. 4:05pm- Dr. Victoria Coates—Former Deputy National Security Advisor & the Vice President of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to recap the European Parliament elections which saw right-leaning parties perform particularly well. The results led to French President Emmanuel Macron calling for a snap legislative election. Plus, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has stated that there should be a universal ban on fossil fuel advertisements in order to protect “green energy” from criticism. Dr. Coates is the author of: “David's Sling: A History of Democracy in Ten Works of Art.” You can find her book here: https://www.amazon.com/Davids-Sling-History-Democracy-Works/dp/1594037213. 4:30pm- Caroline Sunshine—Deputy Director of Communications for the 2024 Trump Campaign—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss a jury in Wilmington, Delaware finding Hunter Biden guilty on three felony charges related to the purchase of a firearm in October of 2018. Plus, Sunshine reacts to polling previewing the 2024 presidential election, as well as President Biden's backwards economic policies. She jokes: “Joe Biden is a few French fries short of a Happy Meal.” 4:50pm- Rich reveals that he never got to select his own show's theme tune. Matt nearly gets fired when he suggests it should be changed to “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham!
