Life feels really full right now, in the best and most overwhelming way. Matix is finally home after two years away on his mission, I'm facing some big decisions about my health and my body, and I'm stepping back into work that feels more meaningful than it has in years. Somewhere in the middle of all of it, I'm realizing I'm not trying to get back to who I used to be anymore. I'm figuring out who I am now.In this episode, Ryan and I talk about what it feels like to have all four of my kids under one roof again, how much Matix has changed while he's been away, the complicated reality of parenting adult children, and some of the things I wish I had done differently as a mom.I also share an update after meeting with my doctor about a possible partial hysterectomy. We get into the fears I have around surgery, what it could mean for my body, hormones, sex, and menopause, and something I didn't expect: realizing just how much my relationship with health anxiety has changed. And finally, we recap an incredible weekend with my challenge and mastermind community. There were breakthroughs, tears, workouts, new friendships, some very vulnerable conversations, and yes... even pole dancing. Watching these women show up for themselves and each other reminded me why I love doing this work so much.I keep saying I feel like I'm “back,” but I don't think I'm going back at all.I think I'm becoming someone new.In this episode:Matix is home after two years on his missionHaving all four kids under one roof againParenting adult kids and knowing when to let goMy partial hysterectomy and health updateHow my health anxiety has changedBehind the scenes of our challenge and mastermind weekendThe friendships, breakthroughs, and unexpected pole dancingHere are the key moments from the episode:00:00 A Much-Needed Life Update with Ryan04:26 Matix Is Finally Home From His Mission!08:02 Having All Four Kids Home Again12:19 Parenting Adult Kids & Learning When to Let Go17:01 How Matix Changed During His Two-Year Mission21:01 What Our Family Looks Like With Matix Back Home25:52 My Health Update & the Hysterectomy Conversation29:13 The Questions I Had to Ask About My Body & Hormones34:47 Something Has Really Changed With My Health Anxiety38:20 Why I Feel Like I'm Finally Finding My New Lane42:22 The Transformation That Made This Challenge So Special46:10 What Happened at Our Mastermind Weekend50:00 The Stories & Vulnerability I'll Never Forget54:33 Pole Dancing, Friendship & a VERY Unexpected Night58:24 What's Coming Next for Me & This CommunityConnect with Heidi:Website: https://heidipowell.net/Email: podcast@heidipowell.netInstagram: @realheidipowellFacebook: Heidi PowellYouTube: @RealHeidiPowellJoin Heidi's next Hormone Reset Challenge: heidipowell.net/resetTrain with Heidi on her Show Up App: https://www.showupfit.app/

Chaz and AJ called Asha Gilbert this morning, to talk about the viral video she shared this week of her pole dancing fail. Unfortunately for Asha, the pole fell and hit the emergency sprinkler system, leading to an immediate spray of water flooding her apartment. Asha was in good spirits today, since her dog, Zeus is safe, and she's already out of the apartment, minus one security deposit. Photo courtesy: Asha Gilbert

On The Pilates Lounge Podcast, Katie Crane sits down with Joanna Littlewood-Johnson, dancer, Pilates educator, and international pole athlete, for a grounded and honest conversation about athletic longevity, injury recovery, and what Pilates actually is when you strip it back to its roots. This episode moves beyond surface-level training conversations—diving into how Pilates supports high-level performance without becoming performance itself, why simplicity is often more powerful than complexity, and how deep body awareness allows athletes to keep evolving well into midlife and beyond. Joanna shares her journey from professional dance into Pilates and pole, including her experience recovering from a full Achilles rupture, and how her understanding of Pilates principles became the difference between simply doing rehab… and actually progressing through it. Together, they explore the realities of training in a changing body—touching on menopause, tendon health, bone density, and the responsibility we carry as movement professionals to teach with depth, not trends. In This Episode, We Cover: How Pilates supports athletic performance and longevity The role of body awareness and muscle recruitment in advanced movement Why simplicity in Pilates creates better outcomes than complexity Joanna's recovery from a full Achilles tendon rupture The importance of progressive loading and structured rehab How Pilates knowledge enhances injury recovery outcomes Training through menopause and physiological change Bone health, osteopenia, and the need for strength and load Why Pilates is not the performance—but the preparation for life The growing disconnect between true Pilates and modern interpretations Key Takeaways Pilates is a practice and a system, not just a workout Simplicity, done well, creates high-level performance outcomes Injury recovery requires consistency, intention, and understanding Women's bodies change—and training must adapt, not stop The true benefit of Pilates shows up outside the studio

Gary chats with creator Nicole Prince and the cast of “Timbos 2 Stilettos,” a women-empowerment reality competition filmed in Atlanta that pushes “non-traditional” women outside their comfort zones. They break down the concept as a mix of America's Next Top Model, Charm School, and Jeans to Gents, featuring etiquette classes, learning multiple runway walks, makeup, and a wild pole-dance challenge that had everyone heated about the outcome. No Nut November + the 69th Restaurant! Nice! Note: One of the mics wasn't working properly. It should sound fine, but Dana is a little quieter than I would've liked. Apologies in advance. Note #2: This was also recorded before the decision was made to shake up the show's format this season, so it's the final episode to contain "This Is Way Too Much," "What's Going On Over There?" and no super awesome cold opens. Sam's Hofbrau is technically a strip club, but not based on what we experienced! I brought adult film star Ryan Keely and Dana Scarborough of the I Seduce the Dragon podcast to the strip club for the food which is like reading Playboy for the articles! A metal detector that everyone's setting off, and no one's doing anything about it Ryan details why we legally weren't able to see any nips "It's my first day" What's Going On Over There with Herbert asking an actively-dancing stripper to do a pull-up?? What we ate: Street tacos, hamburger, breakfast sandwich, wings, fries, & coffee Ryan trashes J.W. Marriott while Dana lauds Korean BBQ in the Calibration Station Ryan tries to cause chaos by unrigging and rerigging the You-Must Bowl drawing to force me to go somewhere of her choosing next week "Fine" Dining is now on video!
