One of our favorite oddballs we've come across in the decades of doing the Feast of Fun podcast is musician Chris Condren, a comedian whose catchy tunes parody time travel, movie trailers and superstardom.Chris came from the Chicago comedy scene of the 2010s we were a part of, that gave rise to popular queer comedians like Matteo Lane and Cameron Esposito.Today musician, comedian and time traveler Chris Condren joins us to look at 20 seasons of the Feast of Fun podcast, carrying his keyboard in a trash can and the notorious episode “Pagan Christmas” which frustrated a Wiccan witch with his titular song.CHRIS CONDREN:★ instagram.com/thunderdavisPlus--• Barbie the Movie's director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie get snubbed for Oscar Nominations while their co-stars America Ferrera and Ryan Gosling nab the honors.• A new survey reveals 28% of Gen Z identity as LGBTQ+.• How the future of Augmented Reality is going to help you get your freak on, literally.• A gay couple gets married at the Chicago Rat Hole.Listen to Feast of Fun without any ads:★ feastoffun.com/plus★ patreon.com/feastoffun
In this week's pod, we were joined by Eoin Condren to discuss "Building with Conscience: Cement's Eco Dilemma"! Eoin is corporate development director at Ecocem, in charge of the strategic structuring of the business to allow it to take advantage of the many opportunities that it currently has in front of it. He's been with the company 2.5 years. His background is in finance and he spent 15 years working in real estate, infrastructure and tech private equity, investing in the US, the UK and throughout Europe. He's a keen rugby fan and very average player who's lowest moment has to be the time Dale, a prop, out-sprinted him, a fullback come winger on an attacking move about 10 years ago. The main topics we discussed on the podcast were as follows: 1,000 bathtubs worth of concrete are poured every second The majority of CO2 emissions are in clinker which is the key reactive material within cement Companies should focus on using timber where possible, however the If we replaced 25% of all the concrete consumed in any given year and replaced with more sustainable products such as timber, you would need to cut down a forest 1.5x the size of India Only 10% of concrete is cement, however it represents 94% of the carbon footprint When limestone is heated, it degrades into co2 and clinker Cement production process has not changed significantly in the last 200 year Join us next time when we're joined by Jessie Schilling to discuss Enhancing risk maturity in your operating environment. Cement clinker is a key ingredient used in concrete. As of 2018, cement production contributed about 8% of all carbon emissions worldwide, contributing substantially to climate change. Most of those emissions were produced in the clinker manufacturing process. Eoin Condren, Director at Ecocem Innovation helps us figure out the sheer impact of clinker on the environment and what his company is doing to help change the world. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/marcusandrami/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/marcusandrami/support
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/locus-mariologicus/message
Heather Condren is well known for her bold and beautiful floral company @flowerpop.ie. What many of you probably don't know is that Heather was a social care worker, working with people with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. Burnout meant she quit her job cold turkey, won a scholarship on a floristry course, set up Flowerpop in 2017 and has never looked back. Heather knew she wanted to have a baby but that multiple 24 hour shifts a week would not be conducive to family life. Floristry was a hobby and it was never meant to become her career, especially when she wanted a bank to give her a mortgage. This is an inspiring story about lacking confidence, wrestling with a scary decision and then absolutely SOARING. I couldn't be happier to round out Season 2 of How To Pivot than with the amazing Heather

In this episode I chat with Heather Condren, a florist and former social care worker who started Flowerpop after she won a scholarship from Kay's Flower School in Dublin. She lives and works in Inchicore in Dublin with her husband and two-year-old son. In the absolute shit storm that is COVID there have been some bright bits and Heathers is one of them. A pandemic will force reassessment of a lot of things and Heather found her love of flowers led her to a brand new florist business that is taking Dublin by storm. She tells us all about her journey, her fears, imposter syndrome and how she managed to push through all of it to create Flowerpop. I simply adore Heathers strength and love of what she does and I eagerly await Flowerpop delivery to Cork! Enjoy x

It was Saturday morning, when a routine police patrol drove past a mostly empty car park in the remote Queensland town of Mount Isa. When police edged closer, they saw that it was the body of a young woman, who they’d later discovered was named Patricia Carlton. She’d been brutally beaten and sexually assaulted. The woman was rushed to hospital, but later that night Patricia would die of her injuries. Following Patricia’s murder, the police made an arrest almost immediately. But what happens when the process lets us down and the wrong person ends up in jail? In today’s episode, Jessie speaks with forensic anthropologist, criminologist and author, Dr. Xanthé Mallet. In her new book, ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Xanthé explores some of Australia’s worst wrongful convictions - including that of Indigenous man Kelvin Condren who was wrongly convicted of murder in 1984. Here are four quick tips on how to plan your day to be more organised and super productive! Hi, this is Mim Jenkinson and you're listening to The Planner Podcast. Hello and welcome back! Today I thought I'd share four really simple steps on how you can plan your day to be more organized because when we're planning we want to be as productive as possible along. We all have lots of things to do! So I thought I'd share some really simple tips on how you can be a bit more structured and organized when planning. Tip one of planning your day is to pick your planning tool. Choose the planner that you're going to use. As I've said before, I always use my Erin Condren LifePlanner. Pick your favorite planner, find a pen that works for your planner as well. I have found that it's a bit of trial and error and for me, I really love the FriXion pens from the Pilot range because I know they write really nicely and also come in loads of different colors and you can rub them out! Tip two is to then prioritize your plans. For me, I'm generally work on a To Do list method. I like to prioritise the events and tasks that need to be completed first and I'll put everything down in order that way or maybe I'll highlight and ones that I really can't miss. And then before I finish my list, I will add some of those "nice to do's" that if I get through all of the priority tasks and I get round to doing other things, these are the things that I'll do. I work from home and I use my partner to plan my work, personal and family tasks and plans and appointments. You might choose to categorize everything separately. For me, I just put everything in one big list in terms of priority. Tip three is to set yourself some reminders because I don't know whether you're anything like me, but I get quite distracted. So even though I use a paper planner, if there's anything really urgent that I definitely can't afford to miss, I'll pop it into my iPhone calendar as well. I don't use the calendar on my phone every single day. I also try and schedule some breaks as well throughout the day. And I'm really, really, really bad at this because I love my job! I love being at my desk and working and before I know it, hours have passed and then I'll move and my back hurts and I realize it's because I've not been moving around. Try and schedule in some breaks into your days as well as some fun stuff. So when you're planning your day, especially if it's mainly work plans or maybe even something that you just don't want to do, try and pop in a few fun things or breaks as well and make sure you're standing up every now and again, grabbing a drink, going for a walk, getting some fresh air and sunshine. And then the fourth quick tip too is to not over-schedule. And I am so much better at this now. I used to be pretty bad. I literally, if I had, 20 lines in my planner to write a list, I'd fill every single one and that would make me feel really organized. Actually having a big long list of things to do would make me think, wow, look how organized I am having to do all these things! But then of course you can only get through so much every day. So don't over schedule. If something isn't realistically going to happen in a day, don't write it in your planner. Don't set yourself up to fail and feel bad because then you've not ticked it off. It took me ages to master this. Even though it's really simple. Only put tasks in your planner that you are capable of completing and if not, find a way that you will be because you don't want to either skip things and feel bad that you haven't done them or rush through anything that you shouldn't be. Make sure that you only put in plans and appointments and tasks that you can realistically do and that are really important too. One thing I've gotten much better of is every week and sometimes every day I'll look through my list and reassess, should that be on today's list? If it shouldn't, I'll move it. Sometimes I've had something in my planner for weeks on end and just have never been able to complete it. And I'll think long and hard that maybe it isn't important or necessary. So there are my four quick tips on planning your day. I would love to know if you have any other tips on making sure that you plan effectively and productively and get everything done! Thank you so much for listening. Pop me a message or an email or a comment and let me know the kind of topics that you'd be interested in and any areas that you struggle with in terms of using a planner or staying organised. Thank you very much for listening and I'm really looking forward to this show. I'll see you in the next episode!
Welcome to the first show from The Planner Podcast! Find out more about planning tips, how to use a planner and be more organised. Hello, it's Mim, and welcome to the very first episode of The Planner Podcast. I'm so excited to share this one with you because planning is both a hobby and a necessity in my life. I'm thinking the fact that you're listening means it probably is for you or you want to know more about how to use a planner. And when I say planner, I'm generally talking about paper planners, like old fashioned diaries, journals, bullet journals, planners. However, I know that lots of people are into digital planning these days and the essentials are pretty much the same. So about me, I Mim Jenkinson. I'm a mother of two little kids and we live in Newcastle, New South Wales in Australia. But you've probably guessed I'm from the UK. I've been over here for about 12 years now though. I'm a little bit of a planner addict! I've been into journaling and using diaries and lists to stay organised forever. I was always the kid who really enjoyed back to school time for the stationery more than anything. That's kind of continued into my adult life. I use my planner to stay organised and as therapy and I'll probably talk about that more as the shows go on as well. The benefits I've found to planning are not just about being more organised. I got into using a planner again a few years ago and picked up an Erin Condren LifePlanner and haven't really looked back. I've tried other planners and at this point that's the one I definitely use every day the most. I use my planner for every reason: to plan my work, personal life, family life, home, everything! I'll talk about this in much more detail in another show. Also, about three years ago I started my own planner sticker store. I sell planning stickers to decorate my Erin Condren LifePlanner and they fit some other planners as well though. I've been selling those online for about three years in my Shop here and in my Etsy store, Paper Planner Club, here. I used to sell the printed versions of the stickers and at the moment it's all printables, which means you can print them out, cut them at home and save stack of money! So, what can you expect on this podcast? Well, I'll be sharing planning tips and advice that I've picked up over the years to help me get the most out of using a planner and also staying more organised. I'll be sharing the different ways I use my planner in the different aspects of my life and how I think you can choose the perfect one for you. I'll be interviewing some special guests on how they plan their days and weeks and years and their tips and tricks on how to be really more organised, more efficient and enjoy planning and a whole host and wealth of other subjects and topics relating to all things planning. I'm so excited to share a lot of those with you! For now, I've got a special gift for everyone who's listening and whether or not you're already using a planner, I have a free weekly planner for you. You can download it and start using it immediately. It's really pretty and is part of my range of printable planners. Pop me a message or an email or a comment and let me know the kind of topics that you'd be interested in and any areas that you struggle with in terms of using a planner or staying organised. Thank you very much for listening and I'm really looking forward to this show. I'll see you in the next episode!
