Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Doing so softens the stool and increases its bulk, which will help you avoid the straining that can worsen symptoms from existing hemorrhoids. Add fiber to your diet slowly to avoid problems with gas.Use topical treatments. Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone, or use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath. Soak your anal area in plain warm water for 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day. A sitz bath fits over the toilet.Take oral pain relievers. You can use acetaminophen (Tylenol, others), aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) temporarily to help relieve your discomfort. With these treatments, hemorrhoid symptoms often go away within a week. See your doctor in a week if you don't get relief, or sooner if you have severe pain or bleeding.MedicationsIf your hemorrhoids produce only mild discomfort, your doctor might suggest over-the-counter creams, ointments, suppositories or pads. These products contain ingredients such as witch hazel, or hydrocortisone and lidocaine, which can temporarily relieve pain and itching.Don't use an over-the-counter steroid cream for more than a week unless directed by your doctor because it can thin your skin.External hemorrhoid thrombectomyBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! The Podfathers get extremely fatherly this week with Chaps battling a case of hemorrhoids that can only be relieved by listening to the sweet sounds of a record player. However the big news is Large recapping how it was dropping Mick off for his freshman year at Alabama. He gets into the good, the bad, and the crying that took place along with the essential items that were purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond, which surprisingly hasn't changed much since Large went to college during the 80s.

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Alison: Hi Dr Cabral, thanks for all you do. I appreciate the effort you put into these podcasts. Here are my questions… Does anyone ever need to complete consecutive detoxes (like 2 rounds of the CBO) to fully recover? I've heard some detox experts claim that it takes 2 years to fully & safely detox heavy metals. I saw that your heavy metal detox program is around 6 weeks long. I'm not really sure what my question is, but is the 2 year program a fraud? Or can you explain why the time frame is so large between detox programs? Thanks again!! Richard: Hello Dr. Cabral, Hope your day is going well. I just want to know if using a Q-tip to clean your ears is a healthy habit. I do this after every time I take a shower. Some say it's good and others say it's not good because our ears don't need to be cleaned since our earwax serves a purpose, plus when using a Q-tip you can push the earwax in further and also potentially damage your eardrum. Do our ears need to be cleaned regularly? If so how? I would love to hear your thoughts on this. As always, thank you very much and have a good one! BTW, I tried searching for this & other topics on your podcast page but for some reason it brings up thousands of podcasts even though most of them don't talk about the topic being searched for. Last time this occurred I tried clearing my cache & cookies but this time it didn't help so I wonder if there is anything I can do to fix this and I apologize if you have covered this topic before. Jessica: Hi does your candida gut protocol help w vaginal candida also? Lindsey: Hello Dr. Cabral. As always, thank you for your time and knowledge. I am wondering what your thoughts are on Necrobiosis Lipoidica and if you have any tips to make changes to affect the root cause. It seems to also be related to granulomatous panniculitis and lipodermatosclerosis if those are inter-related. Any ideas to heal damage done by any of these? Dana: Hello, my daughter and I have vitiligo, my father has it too but very little and seems like it's almost disappeared through the years, is there any causes of it or its hereditary and can't be fixed that's what the conventional doctors say, what is your take on that issue? Thank you so much, enjoying the podcast a lot! Michele: Hi Dr. Cabral! You are the absolute best. I listen to you daily. I have a question about thrombosed hemorrhoids that I cannot seem to find any information on and my Dr. has been of no help whatsoever. I am a 41 year old female, 122 pounds, 3 vaginal births, and have been on a mission to get my health where it needs to be after years of mystery symptoms. A year ago randomly I got a thrombosed hemorrhoid after never having had hemorrhoids before in my life. The weirdest part was it was not the result of any kind of bathroom straining it literally just appeared one day and led me on a journey through hell for 6 weeks. I have been hemorrhoid free for a year and last week low and behold another one appears again with no straining. I have run my hair minerals test, candida, metabolic and vitamins test, have been working with an IHP and am on week 4 of the CBO protocol. I have been on a high fiber plant based diet, tons of water and walking, take the CBO supps, magnesium, and have added in some hemorrhoid support supps from Amazon because I am desperate. I am at a loss for why I would be getting these. Is this a weak vein issue? from having kids? just hormones and me getting older? I am living in absolute fear of this being a constant problem. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Brittany: Hi Dr. Cabral. Thank you for all that you do and the information you provide, it has been incredibly helpful in my healing journey. Wondering if there is any connection between hemorrhoids and candida or other gut bacterial overgrowth? Especially in women who have had a history with antibiotics from an early age, 10+ years of birth control pill use, and poor (refined carbohydrate/sugar) diet? I'm learning that poor liver function doesn't allow for proper filtration for various bodily functions and it dawned on me that there might be a connection between the two. Thanks for any insight or knowledge on this. Thanks! Nikki: Would you have any ideas on why my toenails have a strong amber/orange tint to them? (I take DNS/vit D/vit C/cell boost/daily hair/magnesium/adrenal soothe/thyroid support) Thanks Rob: Hi Dr Stephen j heard your interview in Hay Ferrugia podcast and was wondering where j can get more informed and info on managing and advice on my endomorph body soma type in order to break metabolic and hormone issues to turn myself into a more of a fat burner Cheers Damian: Hi Dr Cabral. Thank you for everything you do. I am 25 years old and live in the UK. I recently lost my dad and have suffered from central nervous system fatigue for over a year and a half. I have my diet dialled in - vegetables, healthy fats, fish etc, only walk as more causes greater fatigue and heart palpates and body shaking, I use a sauna daily and practise calming rituals like meditation. However I feel like my body is broken and do not know what else I can do. Doctors don't seem to want to help me and I am struggling to live my life. Thank you, Damian Shannon: Hi Dr Cabral. I'm starting week 2 of my 21 day detox. I'm struggling with the food list, as a lot of the foods listed are inflammatory causing (beans, lentils, hummus, asparagus,celery,garlic,shallot/onion,beets,snow peas, mushrooms,Brussels sprouts, artichoke, cauliflower, etc). I'm really confused how this detox is supposed to help people who have gut issues? Before starting the detox I had been following the FODMAP diet, eliminating all foods that cause inflammation. I felt relief and improvements, but also needed to go deeper with my healing. Now I'm incorporating all those foods back into my diet. My stomach is more bloated, gassy and I'm experiencing diarrhea. I thought perhaps the diarrhea was part of the detox? My sleep only improved on the 2 fasted days during the 1st week of detox. I'm still fatigued, not feeling any gut relief or losing weight. I'm not currently taking any supplements, only the shakes and detox pills. I've done your Candida/Metabolic, Minerals/Metals, Omega-3/Inflammation tests but I'm waiting for my results. I thought I'd get a jump start on detoxing and was planning on starting the CBO protocol after. I'm starting to question if I should stop this detox? Please share your thoughts and if this is normal? Thank you so much. Maria: Hello and thank you for all that you do. I am really enjoying listening to your podcast and I'm also a member at equal life. I can really use some help with supporting my children's health. I have two girls who just turned six and seven. And they are constantly getting sick of something. It seems like every 3 weeks or so they have something new. Whether it's a cough, a cold, the stomach flu and so on. It's very frustrating. I feel like I do all the right things which is give them vitamins, make sure they're drinking enough water, make sure they're eating healthy food, getting outside, being active. But unfortunately they still get sick very frequently. Can you give me any recommendations as to what things I can do and should be doing for them and anything that you would suggest that I would add additionally.
