Long regarded as one of the world's premier musicians, David Sancious is pleased to announce the release of tracks from his upcoming album, “The Ghost of Jim Crow.” The full version of the first track, "Why Must It Be So,” is now available. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee David Sancious has recorded and performed on keyboards and guitar and toured with various Grammy Award-winning artists. David is an original member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Peter Gabriel, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Santana, Natalie Merchant, Yousou Ndour, Erika Badu, Aretha Franklin, Seal and others have used David's talents as pianists, synthesists, guitarists, arrangers, and producers on recording sessions and concert tours, playing an eclectic and diverse range of music. After several years of playing keyboards and guitar in Jazz, R&B, and Rock Bands in the Jersey Shore area, David met Bruce Springsteen at the entrance to a club where Bruce was organizing a jam session. This led to an invitation to join a new band that Bruce was putting together. This eventually became Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band (named after the street David lived on). After recording three albums and touring the country with Bruce, David left to form the group Tone and recorded several albums. In May, he will tour with Will Calhoun, the drummer for Living Colour, on the Open Secret project throughout the Northeast US. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

On a family trip to NYC when Brent was in grade school, he saw Ethel Merman in Hello, Dolly! This sparked a love of theater and eventually a move to Manhattan to pursue a career in musical theater. Brent has performed off-Broadway, in regional theaters across the US, and on cruise ships worldwide for over ten years. In the late 1990s, Brent left the theater and began working in non-profit administration, spending almost 20 years as the business manager for a Nobel laureate in a research laboratory at Rockefeller University.A friend from his theater days introduced Brent to Asbury Park, NJ, in the early 2000s when the city changed from a gritty ghost town to a Jersey Shore Mecca for gays wanting to nab an affordable house near the beach. After many vacation trips to Asbury, Brent and his husband bought their first shore home in 2011.Brent retired early at the end of the pandemic and started a new career in real estate, following in his mother's footsteps. Now in his third Asbury home, he lives with his husband Joe, also a former actor turned non-profit professional, and their mini-Aussiedoodle Dickens.SummaryBrent Winborn shares his journey to Asbury Park, New Jersey, highlighting the city's transformation from a gritty ghost town to a vibrant LGBTQ+ mecca. He describes Asbury Park's geographical overview, unique perspectives, and proximity to New York City and Philadelphia. Brent also discusses the climate, which has four seasons but milder winters and longer fall periods. He emphasizes the strong LGBTQ+ community in Asbury Park, the presence of gay bars and hotels, and the sense of community and acceptance. Jeff Berlin is known among bass players as one of the elite. His one-of-a-kind tone, jaw dropping techniques and highly advanced harmonic approaches to the bass puts him near the top. In addition to his 12 solo albums, you'll find him on recordings and live performances with Anderson/Bruford/Wakeman/Howe, Allan Holdsworth, Bruford, David Sancious, Janis Ian and dozens more. Today on Too Opinionated, we welcome Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, David Sancious! After several years of playing keyboards and guitar in Jazz , R&B , and Rock Bands on the Jersey shore area, David met Bruce Springsteen at the entrance to a club where Bruce was organizing a jam session. The result was an invitation to join a new band that Bruce was putting together. This eventually became "Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band", and after recording three albums and touring the country, with Bruce, he left to form the group "Tone" and recorded several albums. The first recordings ( "Forest of Feelings" ) in 1975, followed by ("Transformation: the Speed of Love"), ( "True Stories" ), ( "Just as I Thought" ), and ( " The Bridge " ) showed David's skills as a composer for the first time, and led to his being considered one of the most talented and sought after keyboard players in the music industry." I've always been inspired and motivated by the composing aspect of music, and I've always thought of myself as a composer who plays well , rather than a person who is just proficient on a given instrument. The recordings attracted the attention of artist the world over. Recent recordings include (" 9 Piano Improvisations"), ( " Cinema" ), and (" Live in The Now"). Peter Gabriel , Sting , Bruce Springsteen, , Eric Clapton , Jeff Beck, Seal and others, have used his talents as pianist, synthesist, guitarist, arranger, and producer on recording sessions and concert tours, playing an eclectic and diverse range of music. David just performed with Bruce Springsteen with songs from Bruce Springsteen's new studio album Only The Strong Survive, on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon for 4 performances. As you walk south on Main Street from Pyanoe Plaza, look for the alley before 921 Main Street. Don't miss the enchanting artwork on the alley wall. But this is only a prelude to the bright large depiction on the other side of the building. High above street level sits an exterior wall mural on the building at 921 Main St., which is stop #19 on the Belmar Treasure Trail. The mural is another of the creative works in the Belmar Arts Council Community Mural Project. You can view it best if you cross the street and stand on the south side corner of 10th Avenue at Main Street. It was done by Bob Mataranglo – an award-winning video artist, animator, sculptor and muralist who also did the Guitar sculpture outside Belmar Public Library, the first stop on our Treasure Trail. As you might guess, this mural highlights Belmar's connection to Bruce Springsteen. A young Bruce used to practice regularly with his E Street Band at the home of original keyboardist David Sancious' mother, who lived on Belmar's E Street. But Bruce is not the only musical icon who frequented Belmar. In the Golden Age of the 1920's, George and Ira Gershwin spent many a summer night on the porch of an oceanfront hotel owned by the family of Ira's wife. You can see the former site of that hotel at stop 46 on the Treasure Trail on Ocean Avenue.
You are at stop #26 on the Belmar Treasure Trail. The Magical Garden community garden brings members together to grow and share organic vegetables, herbs, berries and flowers, as well as a lot of camaraderie. This flourishing garden and the adjacent playground used to be a vacant lot. But a group of determined residents set the wheels in motion, and with the help of local, county, state and private partners, the unsightly property was turned into one of the first community gardens of its kind in New Jersey in the year 2000 and has been thriving and expanding ever since. The garden, by the way, got its “Magical” name from a contest held with Belmar Elementary School students. On a more somber note, Mitzi & Emily's Playground was dedicated in honor of Emily Gonzalez-Perez and Mitzi Hernandez – fifth and sixth grade cousins and beloved elementary school students who drowned while swimming unattended in the ocean in 2017. Prior to that, it was the E Street Playground, named not only for its location, of course, but also to recognize the young Bruce Springsteen who used to rehearse with his E Street Band in the home of original keyboardist David Sancious, whose mom lived on the famous street. But with its new name, we will always hold the beautiful memories of Mitzi and Emily as children enjoy this playground for years to come.

It's been 11 years since our last connection with Robbie Dupree. At the time, he had just released his album ‘Time And Tide’, which featured his steady stable of musical colleagues - David Sancious, Rick Chudacoff, Peter Bunetta, Leslie Smith, and the late Larry Hoppen. Since that time, and with an understanding of the ever-changing landscape of the music business, Robbie has decided that writing and producing a full album of new songs isn’t on his radar. Instead, he’s taken the path of releasing single tracks at his own pace and when the inspiration strikes him. Along with his 2012, four song EP ‘Arc Of A Romance’, he has recently released three, beautifully produced singles with top-notch lyrical content and musicianship. For Robbie, it’s all about quality over quantity and it’s apparent in these new tracks. Inside MusiCast is pleased to welcome, Robbie Dupree.

In today's VINYL VIBRATIONS podcast, we look at Part 2 of our program on the subject of SYMPHONIC ROCK. In Part one we focused on some of the vinyl records that featured a rock music format, and featured or incorporatedconcerto3-4 a symphonic or chamber accompanyment - produced on vinyl records. We heard Moody Blues, Yes, Led Zepplin, Tommy, Frank Zappa, and Jan Hammer / Jerry Goodman. Today we continue our exploration into artists that either dabbled in symphonic arrangement, or artists that infused their rock or pop sound with classical music orchestra sounds: 1 Twenty Small Cigars, album "King Kong, Jean-Luc Ponty plays the music of Frank Zappa" 2 Vision Is A Naked Sword, album Apocalypse, Mahavishnu Orchestra w London Symphony Orch, Michael Tilson Thomas Cond. 3 Concerto for Jazz Rock Orch, Mvt 1, album Journey To Love Nemperor 1975 composed conducted arranged Stanley Clarke, 4 Concerto for Jazz Rock Orch, Mvts 3+4, album Journey To Love Nemperor 1975 composed conducted arranged Stanley Clarke, 5 The Dick Hyman Concerto Electro, Mvt 1, album Concerto Electro, Composer Arranger Pianist Dick Hyman 6 King Kong, album "King Kong, Jean-Luc Ponty plays the music of Frank Zappa" 7 Overture, album Child is Father to the Man, Blood Sweat & Tears, BS&T String Ensemble, M1 Jean-Luc Ponty and his solo album, featuring the electric violin and the Frank Zappa composition and arrangement of Twenty Small Cigars, from the album King Kong, Jean-Luc Ponty plays the music of Frank Zappa, or just … King Kong. Composed for Jean Luc Ponty and this solo album, by World Pacific Jazz Records. The King Kong album was released 1970 Liberty Records label. Compositions and recording were completed in 1969. There are five parts on Twenty Small Cigars. Noteably, there is no guitar part. Piano or electric piano George Duke Alto & Tenor sax Ernie Watts Drums John Guerin Bass Wilton Felder Jean-Luc Ponty electric violin Ponty was born in France in 1942 was about 27 at the time of this production. This was his 9th release in a long list of albums - - about 40 to date. His collaborations with FZ included these FZ albums - maybe you recognize the album titles - Hot Rats, Over-Nite Sensation, Piquantique, Apostrophe - - were albums on which Ponty played with FZ between 1969 and 1981. Also Ponty collaborated with Mahavishnu Orchestra, albums Apocalypse and Visions, 2 albums by the MO, in the 1970s, featuring Jean-Luc Ponty. M2 Vision Is A Naked Sword. Album Apocalypse, Artist is the Mahavishnu Orchestra w the London Symphony Orchestra, Michael Tilson Thomas Cond. Composed by John McLaughlin. Produced George Martin. Featuring JLP on electric violin and electric baritone violin, And Mahavishnu (aka John McLaughlin) on guitars. And the LSO ( I count 6 LSO performers including KB, viola, violin2, cello, drum and bass parts) with Michael Tilson Thomas conducting, produced in 1974 CBS M3 Concerto for Jazz Rock Orch, Mvt 1, album Journey To Love, composed conducted arranged Stanley Clarke, Produced on Nemperor 1975. One of those movements in this case the first, that seemed to jump out of the stereo, a stereo possessed. So peaceful, contemplative, driven by the drone of the high "G" note. That surreal opening sound. Starry-like. -Stanley Clarke Piccolo bass with synth, acoustic bass, hand bells, organ, -George Duke mini Moog, organ, string ensemble, acoustic piano, -Steve Gadd drums, percussion -David Sancious electric guitar M4 Concerto for Jazz Rock Orch, Mvts 3+4, Album Journey To Love, composed conducted arranged Stanley Clark, produced on Nemperor in1975. Now on Movement 3 the energy level is much higher. A great transition into longer notes and the power of the David Sancious electric guitar lead part. A cooling off movement - movement 4 -- drifts off into an "A"-note" drone. -Stanley Clarke Piccolo bass with synth, acoustic bass, hand bells, organ, -George Duke mini Moog,

Jimmy Fallon's "I love this guy!" favorite Yacht Rocker Robbie Dupree and legendary rock and roll chronicler David Hepworth join me at my table on Talkish with Halli Casser-Jayne, The Halli Casser-Jayne Show for some rock and rolling conversation. Jimmy Fallon loves Robbie Dupree, and for good reason: Just listen to Durpree's music. It's been a long and winding road for Dupree but he thinks of himself as one of the “lucky ones”. From his tough beginnings in Brooklyn, to his Top Ten hits, ‘Hot Rod Hearts' and ‘Steal Away', which earned him a Grammy nomination in the early 80's for Best New Artist, Robbie Dupree's career has twisted and turned, traveled the peaks and the valleys of the ever-changing music industry. From the rich creative atmosphere of the late Sixties through his Woodstock years that were the Seventies, to his chart busting hits of the early Eighties and onward, Dupree's talent has never stagnated, ever-evolving, his associations with some of the greats of the music industry -- David Sancious, Larry Hoppen, Leslie Smith, Rick Chudacoff, and Peter Bunetta seeping into his musical soul. Eleven albums later with his contribution to the genre known as Yacht Rock, Dupree, it can be safely said, has met his heart's desire and reached the musical promised land. We steal away with Dupree in our first half-hour.Author David Hepworth begins his new book UNCOMMON PEOPLE, THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROCK STARS with this declaration: “The age of the rock star, like the age of the cowboy has passed.” Neil Young, are you listening? In a rock and rollin' pep rally and memorial, Hepworth's elegy takes us on the long and winding road through rock and roll history, the up and down beats of an era that offered swagger and recklessness, charisma, self-belief, good hair and above all was riff with talent we could only wish to have. Larger than life but also like us, names like Harrison and Morrison, Elvis and Lewis, Nicks and Joplin, Chuck Berry, Madonna, Bowie, Prince and more come to life on the pages of Hepworth's book that tells the tales of the uniquely motivated nobodies who went about turning themselves into the ultimate somebodies, who shaped our realities and titillated our fantasies because, after all, UNCOMMON PEOPLE isn't just their story - it's our as well. Hepworth, a legend in his own right has launched several successful British magazines, during his long and storied career. He presented the definitive BBC rock music program Whistle Test and anchored the coverage of Live Aid in '85. He has won Editor and Writer of the Year awards from the Professional Publishers Association and the Mark Boxer Award from the British Society of Magazine Editors. He is the radio columnist for the Guardian and a media correspondent for the newspaper, and the author of NEVER A DULL MOMENT. For more information visit Halli Casser-Jayne dot com.

Fuzzbee Morse is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer & singer who's played with a mind-bending collection of musical trailblazers, inc: Lou Reed, Frank Zappa, Jaco Pastorius, Peter Gabriel, Bono, Aaron Neville, the Chambers Brothers, Ric Ocasek, Karla Bonoff, Richie Havens, Julian Lennon, Rufus Wainwright, Jean-Luc Ponty, Stevie Wonder, Dave Grohl, Daniel Lanois, Donovan, Nick Mason, Paul Allen, Axl Rose, Freebo & Derek Trucks, to name a few gifted characters. He recently released his first album, Dreams and Other Living Things, featuring Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta & David Sancious. Of this debut release, American Songwriter senior editor Paul Zollo said, "It’s a lesson in remarkable songwriting," "An absolute masterpiece, and one which I hope others will invite into their lives" and "An album for the ages." Lonesome Highway from Ireland said in their review, "The ten tracks are self-produced and jump out of the speakers with lots of quality and rich arrangements. This is one for the real connoisseurs and all songs are written by Fuzzbee with the exception of Voodoo Child (Slight Return) which only Fuzzbee could have the nerve to tackle and turn into his own impressive show stopper. Smooth and full of soul, serious chops and superb musicianship." He has written the score and songs for numerous films, TV shows and commercials, both dramatic & comedic, and plays lots of instruments, including guitar, keyboards, flute, bass, soprano sax, mandolin, vibes and many others. Wearing a slightly different hat, Fuzzbee has performed live comedy & musical improv for many years with The Flying Fannoli Brothers, Off The Wall, Top Tune, Rick Overton, Dan Aykroyd and lots of other funny people, making up lyrics and music in the spur of the moment on audience suggestions. Fuzzbee is now writing and arranging the songs for his next album and hopes life on earth will last long enough to have the release party. He plays regularly around Los Angeles. For episode 29 of Love That Album, I’m joined by VK Lynne, singer, podcaster (at the List Music Podcast) and obsessive Nightwish fan. Sting. He has his share of admirers and detractors. There are those who love him for his time as a Police man and hate his solo material decrying it as boring AOR. Some just hate how ubiquitous he is in the media. Putting those external factors aside, I’m a huge admirer of his 1993 album “Ten Summoner’s Tales” with its (mostly) excellent songcraft. He has a crack band, including the great keyboardist David Sancious ex of the E Street Band. VK and I discuss Ten Summoner’s Tales, and come to strong disagreements over the merits of the production of this record and as to whether Sting is obsessed with stalking. We also hear one of VK’s own great tunes. Eric Reanimator returns with another Album I Love segment covering an early Queensryche album, knowing VK is a fan of the band.
