Since Pythagoras, we have imagined the universe as a vast, resonant instrument—a cosmic harmony waiting to be heard. From Holst's orchestral visions of the planets to Tuvan throat singing echoing the murmur of rivers, composers have long sought to capture the music of nature and the heavens. Villa-Lobos shaped melodies from landscapes and architecture, just as scientists now transform earthquake tremors and celestial frequencies into sound. This lecture explores the deep connection between music and the cosmos, where all existence vibrates in frequencies—the very essence of pitch, resonance, and melody. This lecture was recorded by Milton Mermikides on 25th February 2026 at LSO, LondonMilton Mermikides is a composer, guitarist, technologist, academic and educator in a wide range of musical styles and has collaborated with artists and scientists as diverse as Evelyn Glennie, Tim Minchin, Pat Martino, Peter Zinovieff, John Williams and Brian Eno. Joe Withrow, Brian Moody, and Hans Toohey deliver a joint strategy session on building a financial foundation that survives contact with reality. Why does traditional financial planning put growth before protection? What happens when your plan gets punched in the face? And why is Infinite Banking the only savings vehicle that accomplishes two critical goals simultaneously? Most people have been trained to think their 401(k) is savings and their term life insurance is "just in case." They're told to focus on growth—index funds, average rates of return, retirement projections—while protection and actual savings become afterthoughts. But when job loss hits, disability strikes, or markets crater, the whole plan collapses. This episode reveals the proper order of operations: protect first, save second, grow third. Hans breaks down why "average rate of return" is a meaningless data point. Brian illustrates the parallel paths of protection and wealth accumulation with the diagram that makes it all click. And Joe explains why buying insurance isn't an expense if you do it correctly—it's saving money that immediately becomes accessible capital. The conversation covers IBC mechanics, policy loans that don't disrupt compounding, real estate purchases funded with cash value, the power of dinner table time for passing down values, and why building generational wealth starts with one decision: get the foundation right, then everything else becomes possible.Chapters:00:00 - Opening segment01:25 - New Year's resolutions: tangible goals vs. vague aspirations08:50 - The invention of "Retirement Inc." in the 1970s11:05 - Protect, Save, Grow: the proper order of operations13:10 - What traditional CFPs get wrong about protection14:35 - Why "average rate of return" is a useless metric16:40 - Brian's parallel paths diagram begins19:30 - The two parallel paths: protection and wealth accumulation22:30 - What can disrupt the wealth curve? 26 October 2025 | This week, Pastor Josh Macha from Bridge Community Church continues our This is the Gospel sermon series preaching from Matthew 18:21-35 on forgiveness, and the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. 21 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often ywill my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? zAs many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. 23 “Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished ato settle accounts with his servants.7 24 When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him bten thousand ctalents.8 25 dAnd since he could not pay, his master ordered him eto be sold, with his wife and fchildren and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 So the servant9 gfell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.' 27 And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and dforgave him the debt. 28 But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred hdenarii,10 and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.' 29 So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.' 30 He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. 32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 iAnd should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?' 34 jAnd in anger his master delivered him to the jailers,11 kuntil he should pay all his debt. 35 lSo also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother mfrom your heart.”

Numerous procedures, policies, and contingencies come into play, which is why it's always a good idea to have a trained LSO monitoring the approach.U.S. Marine Major Brian "SAK" Kimmins, a former AV-8B-turned F-35B pilot explains the efforts he is undertaking to develop a formal landing signal officer school similar to what Jamboy explained exists for conventional carrier aircraft on episode 178.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-fighter-pilot-podcast/donations

Cinematic Sound Radio - Soundtracks, Film, TV and Video Game Music
On Sunday, June 16th, 2024, Jason Drury traveled to London's Barbican Centre to watch and listen to music performed by the world's greatest film music orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra. The evening celebrated the orchestra's 90th anniversary of performing film scores. Under the direction of the equally great Dirk Brossé, they performed suites from twenty scores, some well-known, some underrated, all pure quality. Listening to all that wonderful music gave Jason an idea. Why not produce an Archive Show celebrating the music of the LSO featuring scores all performed by this wonderful ensemble? So, that's what we are going to do today. In addition, as with the concert, Jason will play one cue from the film or a small suite. And, because it is a ‘concert', you will hear several of these suites with as little contribution from your trusted host as possible. Welcome to Cinematic Sound Radio's celebration of the music of the London Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy! —— Special thanks to our Patreon supporters: Matt DeWater, David Ballantyne, Joe Wiles, Maxime, William Welch, Tim Burden, Alan Rogers, Dave Williams, Max Hamulyák, Jeffrey Graebner, Don Mase, Victor Field, Jochen Stolz, Emily Mason, Eric Skroch, Alexander Schiebel, Alphonse Brown, John Link, Andreas Wennmyr, Matt Berretta, Eldaly Morningstar, Jim Wilson, Glenn McDorman, Chris Malone, Steve Karpicz, Deniz Çağlar, Brent Osterberg, Jérôme Flick, Sarah Brouns, Aaron Collins, Randall Derchan, Angela Rabatin, Michael Poteet, Larry Reese, Thomas Tinneny, William Burke, Rudy Amaya, Stacy Livitsanis, Rick Laird, Carl Wonders, Nathan Blumenfeld, Lee Wileman, Daniel Herrin, Mike Kohutich, Scott Bordelon, James Alexander, Brett French —— Cinematic Sound Radio is fully licensed to play music by SOCAN. We are lucky. And that fact was not lost on Anna Binneweg, the Musical Director and Conductor of the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra (and the Anne Arundel Community College Orchestra)! We have such a robust arts scene and not one, but two symphonies! Today we chat about the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra--the history, the seasons, the difference between it and the ASO, and also a huge announcement to be revealed at their upcoming performance The Wild Wild West! We tried, but she would not spill the beans! The LSO is a great community orchestra that is uber affordable at $25, and allows students of all ages to attend for free! And of course, we like some fun chat as well, and if you ever wondered what a conductor might be doing career-wise if they never became a conductor, well Anna's answer will surprise you! Have a listen! Today we hear from the Arts Council's CEO, Darren Henley about Let's Create, the ten year strategy behind the recent funding decisions.Ingrid Persaud discusses the real man behind her new novel The Lost Love Songs of Boysie Singh, an outlaw figure who looms large in the cultural memory of Trinidad and Tobago - an island nation with a wealth of contemporary novelists, including Persaud herself.Presenter: Samira Ahmed Producer: Corinna Jones
