It's hard to reconcile that another year has flown by and we are in December already. This final edition of UP! for 2024 has a blend of house and club tracks to keep you dancing into the New Year. The set kicks off with Alok's new track "Body Talk" then moves into 7th Heaven's new remix of their classic track "This Is Your Life". Dirty Disco features four remixes here, the first being "Set Yourself Free" by Celeda. A smooth house mix that glides along. Mark also does remix duties on tracks for Lady Gaga, BB Hayes and Cher. I'm really looking forward to the release of the fourth installment of his Pop Classics Reworked early in 2025. Division 4 delivers a punchy mix of Tate McRae's "It's Ok I'm Ok" as does Robbie Rivera on "Your Kinda Love". Drew G (working here as Drew Gilbert) spins Katy Perry's track "Crush" into dance floor heaven and Robbie Carrigan delivers a power house new mix of "Live You All Over" by Deborah Cooper. The Edson Pride remix of Kylie's "Lights Camera Action" is an anthem and 7th Heaven once again bring their unique skills to a cover of Cher's "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me". Cher herself teams up with Kelly Clarkson to close out the set with "DJ Play Me A Christmas Song". That's as festive as I get this time of the year :) I wish all my listeners and the crew at podomatic a safe and happy holiday season. See you in 2025. True House Stories Podcast with special guests by Lenny Fontana
TRUE HOUSE STORIES® W/ ROBERT CLIVILLES (C&C MUSIC FACTORY) # 120 INTERVIEWED BY LENNY FONTANA Robert Clivillés was a resident DJ in club Better Days in the late 1980s. David Cole was the resident keyboardist there and the two became firm friends. In the late 1980s, Clivillés and Cole were active in the groups 2 Puerto Ricans, a Blackman, and a Dominican and the 28th Street Crew. At the time, they were the driving force of the short-lived Brat Pack. The duo was also responsible for the formation of pop group Seduction, for whom they wrote and produced a string of top-10 hits. They contributed to the career of former Weather Girls vocalist Martha Wash, who at the same time was one of the lead vocalists for the dance act Black Box. In 1990, Clivillés and Cole released a single featuring later C+C Music Factory rapper Freedom Williams, called "Get Dumb! (Free Your Body)", as The Crew. The duo's biggest success, however, was the group C+C Music Factory, which became a worldwide sensation in 1991. After the death of his partner David Cole in 1995, Robert Clivillés continued to keep the C+C legacy alive through his own production work. In 1995, he released a solo single under the name C+C Music Factory, called "I'll Always Be Around" (#1 Billboard Dance/Club Play), on MCA Records. This was the final #1 Dance/Club Play hit for C+C Music Factory. An album titled C+C Music Factory was released by MCA in 1995 in Europe, but didn't come out in the US. This was the final studio album of new material to be released under the C+C Music Factory name. The same year, Columbia/SME Records released Ultimate, a greatest hits collection featuring a compilation of remixes and album versions of C+C Music Factory's Sony Music Entertainment singles. Two singles were released in conjunction with the album: "I Found Love" (#13 Dance/Club Play), and "Robi Rob's Boriqua Anthem" (#29 Dance/Club Play), which featured Spanish-language reggae artist El General. In October 1996, Clivillés released an album of new material under the name Robi-Rob's Clubworld. The first single from the project, "Shake That Body", featured emcee Ya Kid K, formerly of Technotronic. The second single, "Reach", was a collaboration with Hex Hector, and featured vocals from longtime C+C vocalist Deborah Cooper. This was the final recording to include piano tracks recorded by the late David Cole. In the 2000s, Clivillés worked with the group MVP, releasing two studio albums with the group. In 2010, C+C Music Factory reformed, with Eric Kupper stepping in to replace Cole. In May 2015, Clivillés made his debut on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart with the song "Set Me Free", featuring vocals by Kimberly Davis of the band Chic. The music video for "Set Me Free" makes reference to Clivillés' father's suicide. In June 2021, Clivillés produced and released the song "Yo Soy Latino (Vamos a Bailar)" by Latinos Del Mundo

Peter Rauhofer (April 29, 1965 - May 7, 2013) was an Austrian-American House producer, remixer and DJ. Peter was born in Wien (Vienna) and mainly lived in New York City. Peter first got his start as an A&R man for GIG Records. Since his first recording under his well known alias, Club 69, Peter had come to be one of the most in-demand remixers of the late 90's/2000's.Club 69 was one of the most popular alias of Peter Rauhofer in the 1990's. At first, Rauhofer used different aliases to release his music. 'Unique' (1991) was first released under the names Danube Dance (a name he took from a compilation project of the same name released on GiG Records), Unique (16) and Saxmachine. These projects all featured the vocals of Kim Cooper. In 1992, a remix of 'Unique' and the single 'Let Me Be Your Underwear' began to be played in Europe and in North America. Both tracks became instant club hits. He was famous for a variety of his remixes including Cher's "Believe" and a number of Madonna's songs including "Nothing Really Matters", "American Life", "Nothing Fails", "Nobody Knows Me", "Get Together", "Impressive Instant" and "4 Minutes", as well as her collaboration with Britney Spears, "Me Against the Music" and various collaborations with Janet Jackson ("Throb" and "Just A Little While" to name a few). He has also provided remixes for Kylie Minogue, Whitney Houston, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Yoko Ono, Pink, Tori Amos, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Book Of Love, Soft Cell, Duran Duran and Mariah Carey, among others. He was also behind the tribal house record label Star 69 and was a frequent producer of the label's releases. His style shifted from a house/tribal vibe to a more tribal/progressive feel with his later mixes. There wasn't a time in the late 1990s when one would go to a US club to hear many of his mixes playing through the speakers. Peter has also recorded material under the aliases, Saxmachine, Danube Dance, House Heroes and Size Queen. Peter once worked with Victor Calderone for The Collaboration project and once with the Pet Shop Boys for The Collaboration project. His remix credits are many and include: Depeche Mode, Madonna, Seal, Funky Green Dogs, Kylie Minogue, etc.Rauhofer spun throughout the United States. He was the former resident DJ at the weekly gay dance night held at the Roxy in New York, which closed its doors in 2007. Rauhofer was formerly the resident DJ of the gay dance party called "Work". His party was held weekly at the Stereo nightclub in New York until March 3, 2008 when the City invoked eminent domain and acquired the building. "Work" was a monthly event, despite lacking a permanent venue.Rauhofer was mostly known for spinning tribal house and continued to play many gay circuit party events, and was scheduled to play the ultimate events (White Party Palm Springs and One Mighty Weekend's Magic Journeys at Arabian Nights) prior to his falling ill in February 2013. The Collaboration was a dance music project created by Rauhofer. Rauhofer's first release as The Collaboration was "Do It Properly", a 1999 track produced with Victor Calderone, featuring Deborah Cooper on vocals. The Collaboration moniker was then used by Rauhofer on "Break 4 Love", a number one Hot Dance Music/Club Play hit featuring Pet Shop Boys.Peter Rauhofer (Club 69) won the Grammy Award in 2000 for Best Remixer of the Year for his remix of Cher's "Believe".On April 17, 2013, it was made public that Rauhofer was diagnosed with a brain tumor. A message was posted on his Facebook page by his friend and manager, Angelo Russo, informing friends and fans of the situation. On May 7, 2013, Peter Rauhofer passed away.HEAR THIS! This set has been updated since the original post. 'I Believe 2009 (Ralphi Rosario Vocal Club Mix)' by The Absolute feat. Suzanne Palmer was substituted for 'Body Rock' by Oceana and 'Dancing On My Own (Guy Scheiman Club Remix)' by Robyn was added to the final version. No sooner than I finished yesterday's post — I found an issue with the website, which lead me down a rabbit hole of multiple issues. Mind you, nothing that affects the user experience but triggers my anal instincts of perfection. By the time I finished and resolved to leave some issues for another day — my day was lost and I was too tired to finish volume 4 of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics that I promised I was going to do. Rick has been out of town so that allowed me to get up early this morning and get to work on cleaning up this mix, while replacing a couple of tracks with better versions. Then I started adding stuff I had forgotten about and this 4-hour set turned into nearly 5 hours. The end result is shear perfection and frankly a delight for GenX and early Millennials. I had decided to skip on mixing up a variety of styles for the final two volumes, which makes things a bit easier so volume 4 is big room circuit but nothing that's over the top. There's a lot of gay anthems and quality classic gay pride cuts here. As I had previously stated, this series is as close as you're going to get to a best of the Diva Hall of Fame people have asked me for. What's nice about this is that all those leading ladies that I never got around to inducting or for whatever reason didn't feel it was warranted — are included here. People like Jeanie Tracy, Kimberly Davis, Anastacia, Suzanne Palmer (who really deserves an entry), Paula Cole, Shania Twain, Heather Small (of M People), Judy Cheeks, Alison Limerick, Lara Fabian, Nelly Furtado, Debby Holiday, Amber, Goldfrapp, Sarah Atereth, Deborah Cooper, Beth Sacks, Pepper MaShay, Andra Day, Latanza Waters, CeCe Peniston, Sabrina Johnston, Shawn Christoper, Soraya Vivian (Degrees of Motion), Thelma Houston and so many more have touched our little gay hearts at one point or another in our drama-filled lives that it's a travesty that I can't acknowledge all of them. Consider this series their honorary induction and acknowledgement of what they've meant to so many of us. We say, thank you from the bottom of our little queer hearts. We've got one more set to go, which will be the remaining Hi NRG and house music tracks before jumping into the annual Gay Anthems For A New Generation so we can wrap up our 2022 Gay Pride offerings before festivities start kicking off. Here's the sitch: this episode, Filmshake's covering 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer...the movie, not the TV show, NIC! To kick things off, Nic reports on his punishment film, the 1993 Cory Haim comedy Just One of the Girls, where Haim dresses up like a cheerleader to evade his high school bullies. We then naturally segue into more cheerleading and back to some bloodsucking with Buffy. Listen, as Jordan chides Nic continually for talking about the TV show and not the movie, while Nic can't quite escape the looming spectre of Joss Whedon. Meanwhile, Jordan connects with Buffy and their shared interest in a certain celebrity heartthrob. Capping it off with their usual trivia battle, Nic seethes with a vampiric vengeance for his loss to the cryptkeeper last time. Can Jordan prevail against such diabolical rage? Especially having never seen two 80's sci-fi staples? Find out on Filmshake! Fatback Band - Backstrockin' Edit By Petko Turner The Fatback Band (later, simply Fatback) is an American funk and disco band. Most popular in the 1970s and 1980s, The Fatback Band is most known for their R&B hits, "(Do The) Spanish Hustle", "I Like Girls", "Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)", "Backstrokin'" and "I Found Lovin". Their 1979 single "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is sometimes considered the first hip hop single. Formed in New York City in 1970, The Fatback Band was the concept of Bill Curtis, an experienced session drummer, inspired to merge the "fatback" jazz beat of New Orleans into a funk band. In addition to Curtis, the band's initial line-up included guitarist Johnny King, bassist Johnny Flippin, trumpet player George Williams, saxophonist Earl Shelton, flautist George Adams, and keyboardist Gerry Thomas. The band specialized in playing "street funk". The group also later included conga player Wayne Woolford, vocalists Jayne and Gerry, Deborah Cooper saxophonist Fred Demerey, guitarist Louis Wright and George Victory. The Fatback Band signed to Perception Records and had a hit single that summer with "Street Dance". The single reached the Top 30 on the US Billboard R&B chart, but failed to cross over to the pop chart, a pattern the group would follow for the rest of their career. The band released the albums Let's Do It Again, People Music, and Feel My Soul before signing to Event Records in 1974. In the mid-1970s, the band incorporated jazz elements and moved more towards a disco sound resulting in the singles, "Keep On Steppin'", "Yum, Yum (Give Me Some)", and "(Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop". The singles proved popular in dance clubs, but did not do as well on R&B chart until the spring of 1976 when "(Do The) Spanish Hustle" came close to the Top Ten. "(Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop" birthed the development of line dancing.[citation needed] Now recording for Spring/Polydor, the group continued with the singles, "Party Time", "The Booty", and "Double Dutch". Late 1977 brought a name change to Fatback, and in 1978 they found their first Top Ten single with "I Like Girls". The song "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is often considered to be the first commercially released rap single, having shipped just a week before The Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" in October 1979.[2] In 1980, Fatback had a pair of their biggest hits with "Gotta Get My Hands On Some (Money)" and "Backstrokin'". Also finding the charts in the 1980s were "Take It Any Way You Can't It", "I Found Lovin'", and "Spread Love", with singer Evelyn Thomas, in 1985. Whilst American pop success proved elusive, the group made regular appearances in the UK Singles Chart, including the Top Ten twice with "(Do The) Spanish Hustle" and "I Found Lovin'".[3] Keyboardist Gerry Thomas was simultaneously a member of The Jimmy Castor Bunch, so the band elected to remain close to the New York area instead of extensive touring. They had substantial success in South America, especially in Brazil (with "Money", and "Backstrokin'").
Change - Let's Go Together (The Paul Hardcastle Re-Mix) Simple Pitched Up DJ Edit By Petko Turner A mixed Italian - American combo. Founded by the duo of songwriters - producers Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi, based in Bologna, Italy. Initially they started with guest vocalist Luther Vandross but soon after James Robinson replaced him regularly. In the same mode, Jocelyn Brown was replaced by Deborah Cooper as a main lead vocalist. Between 1980 - 1985 they released six albums, inspired by the glamour and hi-class image of Chic. They spawned hits like "A Lover's Holiday", "Searching", "The Glow Of Love", "Paradise", "Change Of Heart", "The Very Best In You", "Mutual Attraction". In 1984 they collaborated with the gold duo of producers - songwriters Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. In 2009 they made a comeback with their long lost, since 1990, album "Change Your Mind" with guest vocalists Lisa Fischer and Patrick Boothe.

The summer is upon us and there is no greater way to spend an afternoon than on the beach enjoying your friends and loved ones. When you include an event that totally encapsulates that day, the right music, special things happen. You make new friends. You have more reasons to smile and feel your blessings versus counting them. Then there's the DJ giving everything he's got to create those magical memories that stay with you forever. As I put my heart into this I thought SOUVENIRS FROM THE SUN was the perfect name for this SANDBLAST event. The titles I chose for this podcast come from what inspires me most about music, messages. I am sending messages through songs I've written and produced along with songs, tracks and remixes by artist and talent that I have such great respect for. Among the many familiar and classic tracks, I have created and added new tracks that I hope will join the classics ranks. I send a very special thank you to Deborah Cox, who is an incredible collaborator and friend. Together, we have gone into the studio again to create one of my proudest works yet titled, "A New Life". This new work was inspired by one of the many hit songs from the musical JECKYL AND HYDE. It's premier is happening on this podcast FOR YOU! When it is released. please show your love and support. Also, a special thanks to Joe Gautheraux who came to me with and idea about the classic song "Souvenirs" by Voyage. I brought the incredible Michelle Weeks in to put that diva touch to it and you are hearing Stage 1 of the future hit anthem Let's Find A Place". You can also hear for the first time a song that I wrote with an incredible songwriter, Phil Galston who wrote "Save The Best For Last" for Vanessa Williams. Phil and I came up with an emotional musical piece titled , "Where The Sky Meets The Sea". I would love to hear your feedback about this. AND BIG NEWS!…We have just released a new video on Sugar House Music to my new single with Deborah Cooper, "Heartbeat". I cannot tell you how happy I am with it's performance on the charts and dance floor! Here is the link - please check it out! https://vimeo.com/67777284 Sandblast is going to be amazing and I wait to see so many there. His name reverberates throughout the dance music community with excitement and anticipation. Calderone's impact on dance floors worldwide is undisputed. He has skyrocketed to international "superstar" status with his innovative, tribal-inflected remixes of songs from some of the industry's most successful artists like Madonna, Sting, Destiny's Child, Mandalay, Garbage and Elton John. Victor has also had tremendous success with his own original productions. His 1996 single "Give It Up" was a #1 Billboard Dance Chart hit and it follow-up "Beat Me Harder" was equally successful. Five years after the success of "Beat Me Harder," Calderone is poised to be on top of the dance charts once again with his new original track, "Are You Satisfied?" with vocalist Deborah Cooper. It was Cooper, the former C&C Music Factory vocalist, who recorded the dance smash "Do It Properly" – the much anticipated collaboration between Victor and Peter Rauhofer (aka Club 69) Calderone's long-awaited follow-up, E=VC2 VOLUME 2, is a record to be reckoned with. It is a deft, bruisingly thunderous fusion of soaring vocal anthems, hypnotic house tracks and a cavalcade of thunderous tribal beats. The flawlessly beat-mixed compilation is definitely not your run of the mill dance mix. Recorded live in the city that never sleeps, New York City, it is pure Victor Calderone. E=VC2 VOLUME 2 allows audiences from around the world a glimpse into the sonic frenzy that the DJ/producer/remixer extraordinaire creates every Saturday night. However, Calderone's meteoric rise to dance music "superstardom" did not happen overnight. It wasn't until September of 1997 that Victor got one of his biggest breaks. He was invited by club-impresario Ingrid Casares of Miami's hotspot Liquid to become their resident Saturday night DJ. The crowd response was so overwhelmingly positive that he was asked to come back to Manhattan to spin as the featured guest DJ at several nightclubs. The guest spot eventually lead him to a Saturday night residency at the famed New York City nightclub, The Roxy. Tracklist ::: Unavailable www.theterracepodcast.com
