Manhunt [feat. Pepper MaShay] by Bill Bennett

Bill Bennet Fit Over 50

DJ Bill Bennett EXODUS I am very proud of this album that contains new mixes of my previous singles and new tracks I never released. Many of us have had a very difficult time since the quarantine. I have made a decision to not release my new album for sale. I really do not want the anxiety of getting daily notifications on this album sales stats, commissions etc. My haters will have a field day with this one. But I know now what haters stands for... Have Anger Towards Everyone Reaching Success I have done 2 giant tours, several billboard club hits... I have been there and have the T-Shirt. I am now 55, I have no desire to be on magazine covers or in the gay rags. I just want my art out there. The world, the universe is energy. And we get back what we put into it. This is my gift to you. I hope it helps eliminate the darkness that has been around us these past few years. I hope it brings you joy. I hope it makes you smile. I hope it makes you move. I hope it makes your 2024. I do ask two favors of you. First, on your first listen please use headphones and listen to the entire album from start to finish to fully experience my art. Secondly, share this link with your friends. If this makes someones day, week or year... I have done my job. Namaste. Les, Kurt, and Jason were so energized by Don Johnson's Heartbeat in the previous episode (the promotional movie moreso than his actual pulse), so they're tackling some more music videos this week. But first, THE Pepper MaShay came to see Les's show, as did Lesley Ann Warren and Lifetime of Hallmark SUPERFAN Samantha (thanks for listening). Then Kurt shares what may be newly specific news about Blac Chyna as it relates to sobriety. Fun fact: Les is kinda dickmatized by Dick van Dyke (a conversation started after a June Squibb spotting). Then it's time to get into 3 different defining (?) music videos of the 80's, starting with Journey's “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).” The Sherrie of Steve Perry's “Oh Sherry” almost killed this video, but she doesn't have to because it dies on its own (though without a soundtrack since the instruments keep disappearing). Then, the guys took a look at Slade's “Run Runaway” video, complete with a kilt-wearing dude swinging a giant phallic telephone pole all around a well lit castle while lead singer Noddy Holder is doing… something… with his mouth (Jason has a theory). Finally, Les subjects Jason and Kurt to the Pia Zadora and Jermaine Jackson classic (at least in Europe) “When the Rain Begins to Fall” from Pia's movie Voyage of the Rock Aliens. At least there's a vespa chase and some proximity to peak Michael Jackson.  Facebook : alifetimeofhallmark Instagram : lifetimeofhallmarkpodcast Theme song generously donated by purple-planet.com

It's been a wild road, y'all. The unbeaten path we travel is so important to remember because those moments are what sprout into bigger and more exiting things- they become the moments and memories of our lives. Because of our hiatus, Today we are airing our Gay Pride edition of our show!I chose this particular interview to be a ONE on ONE and personal conversation with an icon that helped me sprout into the tree that I needed to become. Mrs. Pepper MaShay,  also known as Jean McClain is an American soul, house and dance music songwriter and singer. To me,  She is better known from the legendary soundtrack from Queer As Folk back in the early 2000's. After singing other genres of music for decades, find out what happened when she decided to take on Barry Harris (the first club dj in the world to write, produce and perform a worldwide Top 5 hit. )This is one you don't want to miss my friends.Who wants to go DIVE in the pool?Thank you to our family of amazing sponsors! This set has been updated since the original post. 'I Believe 2009 (Ralphi Rosario Vocal Club Mix)' by The Absolute feat. Suzanne Palmer was substituted for 'Body Rock' by Oceana and 'Dancing On My Own (Guy Scheiman Club Remix)' by Robyn was added to the final version. No sooner than I finished yesterday's post — I found an issue with the website, which lead me down a rabbit hole of multiple issues. Mind you, nothing that affects the user experience but triggers my anal instincts of perfection. By the time I finished and resolved to leave some issues for another day — my day was lost and I was too tired to finish volume 4 of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics that I promised I was going to do. Rick has been out of town so that allowed me to get up early this morning and get to work on cleaning up this mix, while replacing a couple of tracks with better versions. Then I started adding stuff I had forgotten about and this 4-hour set turned into nearly 5 hours. The end result is shear perfection and frankly a delight for GenX and early Millennials. I had decided to skip on mixing up a variety of styles for the final two volumes, which makes things a bit easier so volume 4 is big room circuit but nothing that's over the top. There's a lot of gay anthems and quality classic gay pride cuts here. As I had previously stated, this series is as close as you're going to get to a best of the Diva Hall of Fame people have asked me for. What's nice about this is that all those leading ladies that I never got around to inducting or for whatever reason didn't feel it was warranted — are included here. People like Jeanie Tracy, Kimberly Davis, Anastacia, Suzanne Palmer (who really deserves an entry), Paula Cole, Shania Twain, Heather Small (of M People), Judy Cheeks, Alison Limerick, Lara Fabian, Nelly Furtado, Debby Holiday, Amber, Goldfrapp, Sarah Atereth, Deborah Cooper, Beth Sacks, Pepper MaShay, Andra Day, Latanza Waters, CeCe Peniston, Sabrina Johnston, Shawn Christoper, Soraya Vivian (Degrees of Motion), Thelma Houston and so many more have touched our little gay hearts at one point or another in our drama-filled lives that it's a travesty that I can't acknowledge all of them. Consider this series their honorary induction and acknowledgement of what they've meant to so many of us. We say, thank you from the bottom of our little queer hearts. We've got one more set to go, which will be the remaining Hi NRG and house music tracks before jumping into the annual Gay Anthems For A New Generation so we can wrap up our 2022 Gay Pride offerings before festivities start kicking off. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album: Ultimate Gay Anthems & Pride Classics Vol. 4 Genre: Circuit, House, Hi NRG Year: 2022 Total Time: 05:00:07 1. Party Favorz has been on a roll and I decided to go ahead and drop the annual Summer Edition featuring some of the biggest circuit beats of the moment. We kick things off with Kristine W's (soon to be yet another #1) Out There, which admittedly took me awhile to get on board with but I'm firmly in her camp on this now. Looking forward to the second set of mixes that are scheduled to come out for this song. Israeli hotty Guy Scheiman brings us an unlikely update to the Carly Simon classic about her ex, Warren Beatty You're So Vain. At first I was like, what the hell are you thinking? After listening to the fantastic vocals by Michal S, I really started getting into it and I'm pretty certain you will too. I should go ahead and mention Dirty Disco's fabulous re-work of the Kim English classic Unspeakable Joy, a song very near and dear to my heart. Given Kim's history of fame to shame, many of you might consider this a cringe-worthy choice but I respectfully disagree. No matter the singer, we OWN this motherfucking song. If it wasn't for us, there would be no song nor any Kim English. JOY!Unspeakable Joy!'Cause they did not give it, they cannot take it away! They also just dropped Move Your Body by Caroline Lund and Leo Frappier, which I've been all over since I heard it just last week. The remix package on this is equally as compelling, with so many tribal-i-cious choices. I can't begin to tell you how many folks have posted their longing for the return of high-quality circuit house music; well this is it and Swishcraft is currently doing their best to fill the void, so be sure to support their efforts. ...and then there is Barry, oh how I do love thee. I get proudly erect at the mere mention of his name. I’m presenting you a special nonstop mix I’d like to dedicate to Barry Harris, one of my favorite DJs. He’s a well-known DJ who created many remixes at least 15 years ago under the name Thunderpuss. He’s created remixes for big-hit artists, such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Spice Girls, and even Madonna. Currently he’s been solo, creating remixes for more current artists, which is where I come to compile a selection of his works into this mix. I will guarantee that all of these songs that he’s worked on will NOT disappoint you! I hope you all enjoy this, especially one of my idols, Barry Harris. “Hello (We Could’ve Had It All) (Barry Harris Remix)” by Adele “Booty (Barry Harris & Division 4 Remix)” by Jennifer Lopez f./ Iggy Azalea “What Makes Your Heartbeat Faster (Defibrillator Remix)” by Barry Harris “High Off My Love (Barry Harris Tropical Club Mix)” by Paris Hilton “How Deep Is Your Love (Barry Harris Remix)” by Calvin Harris & Disciples “Stranger In My House (Barry Harris 2k14 Remix)” by Tamia “Vogue (Barry Harris Rebel Heart Remix)” by Madonna “Dive In The Pool (f./ Pepper Mashay)” by Barry Harris “Total Eclipse Of The Heart (Barry Harris Extra Drama 2k15 Tribal Anthem Remix)” by Bonnie Tyler “Hideaway (Barry Harris Remix)” by Kiesza “What Do You Mean (Barry Harris Remix)” by Justin Bieber

It's that time of year again here in Dallas. In anticipation, I wanted to make the first mix I have ever done specifically for Pride. Normally with my mixes, I like to keep all the most as recent as possible. For this one -- being my first Pride-centric mix, I decided to break my own rules and sprinkle some older songs that always make me think of Pride. Some of these are even new remakes/remixes of older uplifting classics as well. I will say that I did not use any mix of a song I have used before. I know listening to it over the last week or so has really got me in the mood and happy for our Pride, so here's hoping it may make you smile as well. :-) Song listing: Pepper MaShay - Freeway Of Love (Steely M. & Cary August Club Mix)Orienta-Rhythm & Michelle Weeks - Peace (Orienta-Rhythm Deeper Mix)Michelle Weeks & Dawn Tallman feat. It looks like there wasn't enough for a 4th mix, so this will be the final installment of the Holiday Edition.  There's some tough love going on in this mix, perfect for your peak hour enjoyment.  Watch out for the Nicki Richards tune; quite possibly the first anthem for 2009.  Another one I'm really getting into is  Sweet Feet Music feat. Soul Sista Shakti with Jeanie Tracy & Pepper Mashay "Maybe God Is Tryin' To Tell You Somethin'".  Packed with exceptional mixes from start to finish, there's not a bad mix in the bunch.  I don't know what it is but there's something about Gays, God, and Gospel that melds together really well.  Expect a Klubjumpers remix as part of a 2nd round of mixes in early January. Speaking of Klubjumpers, check out the ultra HOT remix they turned in for the classic "I Can't Get No Sleep 2008" by India.  Careful, you may burn yourself in the process.  Altogether, this is one solid set from start to finish.  You'll notice a little bonus at the end of the mix by Kristine W.  Just a little Christmas somethin' for those of you traveling this year to your holiday destination. I'll be wrapping up a Christmas present for the House heads which I'll deliver on Christmas Eve and day.  Until then, I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday, however you may celebrate it.  Take care and I'll be back at the end of next week for a series of year-end mixes to round out the year.  From my house to yours...Merry Christmas and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! DJ Pete Savas presents

Are you ready for summer? The heat has already arrived, and I'm not just talking about the weather. Episode 16 of the podcast is ready to get your summer off to a rollicking start with some scorching tracks. Representing the circuit tribal and diva grooves, the progressive scene, a little retro fabulous, and good old reliable house music, you'll find a little bit of everything (just how I like it) in this mix. In addition, there's an exclusive remix of a hot new track, "I Remember" by Kaskade, done just for me (and your enjoyment) by the ever-fabulous DiscoPup! What's really amazing about this set is that almost 50% of the tracks are either reworks/remixes or samples of songs that were big hits in their own right. You're going to recognize these right off the bat, and I hope they'll bring back some good memories for you, as well as create some new ones. A couple of these are going to be huge summer anthems, like the new mix of "Dive in the Pool" and "Cafe Del Mar." These two blockbusters have been given a very deft re-treatment; the new mixes just blew me away the first time I heard them and I knew I had to use them in a podcast. It's funny too, in a way, especially for "Dive in the Pool," which when it first came out, not only filled the floors no matter where it was played, but got the hands up in the air and the crowd chanting along. But like any big song like that, it crested fast ad then crashed hard, landing in "cheese factor" territory. This new mix, however, breathes some new life into the track, reviving it and Pepper Mashay's "Let's get soakin' wet!' Then there are the two new stormers, one from the "Queen of Disco" herself, Donna Summer, and one from the newest sensation on the block, Rihanna. You're going to hear these tracks a lot over the next few months, and I'm predicting Rihanna's "Take a Bow" will have the longevity of "Please Don't Stop the Music." So, no sitting this time; get up on your feet and shake your thang, 'cause this groove ain't gonna let you sit down. And it's all coming up, "Next," just for you.

It's the first day of spring, and it's time to celebrate! Last weekend, Atlanta got hit by a couple of tornados in the downtown area. This is a first, for the city. Saturday morning, the sirens went off and my partner and I turned on the television to see a massive tornado about a mile away from where we live. Thankfully, we scraped that one. The only thing I truly dislike about this time of the year, is the glowing yellow-green powder that covers your car once everything starts pollinating. That and my allergies tend to flare up, so I have to stay on top of my nasal spray or risk looking like the one-eyed beast after the other one swells closed. It's painful to say the least and the headaches are incredibly powerful. However, today we've got clear blue skies and temps should reach up into the lower sixties. Hopefully, it will stay that way through the weekend. I know it's been about two months since my Winter Edition, so I thought it was fitting to share my latest mix to kick off the first day of the season. How do you like the cover art? I thought a little "spring training" might be in order...hehehe. I have to say, I am very pleased with this mix. I've managed to pull together a ton of new tunes + a few favorites from earlier this year. I also re-added "Breakaway" by Bill Bennett and Inaya Day, yet again. Why? Because it was never officially released last year and never got the push it so deserved. I added it to my 2007 Year-End Edition and predicted it would finally get a push this year. Well guess what...I was right. It showed up on the April Mainstream Club Promo. This remake of the eighties dance classic by Big Pig is amazing and deserves the attention that I hope I can bring to it. If you go on over to Bill Bennett's website, you'll find that he's about to release an album in April and begin a nationwide tour to support it. Wait until you find out what the next single is. Ah hell, I'll just tell you. It's "Fame" by Suzanne Palmer. Yes indeed, this is a remake of the Irene Cara classic from 1980. Should be out just in time for Pride. Additionally, he's loaded up the album with some other HOT tunes, including an original with Pepper MaShay. I fully expect this to be one of the best dance albums of the year! One last thing of note: With the exception of my little plug for my candidate on the right hand side, I've removed all references to politics from this blog and will no longer be pontificating about the candidates nor the primaries. I considered starting a separate political blog, but I figured I'd just keep harassing my good buddy ModFab instead. Frankly, I'm starting to get an ulcer from the entire mess and no longer have the stomach for the bitter divisiveness within the Democratic party. Whether it be Obama's judgement or lack there of, the inexcusable race baiting by the Clinton camp, the DNC chairman (Howard Dean) and the fiasco he created in Florida and Michigan or the vitriolic language being spewed between the supporters from both camps. Last time I checked, we were all on the same side with one clear objective: to rid the Whitehouse of conservatives and take back our country. Instead, we've resorted to name calling and hurling insults to anyone that does not agree with our position. I too have found myself guilty of these charges, and don't really believe it's becoming of me, much less anyone else. When I read various news articles about the primaries and then browse the comments section, I find it disheartening to see all the venom directed at each other; often times from individuals who appear to be not much smarter than a 5th grader. Frankly, I only march to my own drum and not some smarmy prick who's sole source of information is derived from MSNBC (gag reflex) or the Bible. Therefore, going forward I am finished trying to support my position. I'll just wait until the convention in August and pray that the party doesn't implode on itself. Frankly, this is a blog about house music,

It's almost 2:00 am and I couldn't get any sleep, so I decided to go ahead and put up the next installment of the Classix of 2000.  The mix was already complete a couple of days ago, so all I had to do was split the tracks and create this post.  I don't think I'll begin the third volume until Monday or so.  If you remember, I got some goodies in for my computer earlier this month.  The easiest things like the additional memory and the new hard drive have long since been installed, but I was saving the more time consuming difficult part (at least for me) installing the new massive heatsink for a quieter day.  Tomorrow has been designated as that day.  If I don't come back in a few days, you'll know something went horribly wrong...LOL.  I'm not anticipating any problems, but then again, I am quite possibly the unluckiest person living on this earth...swear to god! This mix is comprised of some massive, and I mean MASSIVE club tunes from the year.  Certainly "Dive In The Pool" by Barry Harris feat. Pepper Mashay was one of the largest tunes of the Millennium.  What's funny is that I was all over this song when it first came out and decided to drop it for the first time at "Last Splash".  The first night I played it, it just about cleared the dancefloor.  The second night, reactions were more favorable.  Generally, that's not good enough to go forward with a song, but I really believed in it.  So, I dropped it the third night and all of a sudden everyone just GOT IT!  Already climbing the charts, the song was bolstered by the American version of "Queer as Folk" where it was featured on the closing credits for like the first five episodes.  After the first time, it was in high demand all the time.  Strangely, the song never hit number one on the club charts but peaked at number two and stayed there for two weeks.  Ultimately, Madonna's HOT "Music" leaped right over it and took the top spot for five weeks.  Nevertheless, because this was an original production, Barry must have made a pile of money off of this one song alone.  It was shortly after that, that he and Chris (Cox) went their separate ways only to have Barry just drop off the face of the earth.  Seriously, if anyone knows what he's up to these days, I'd really like to know.  Sure he did a couple of things after that, but he never had the success of this offering and hasn't been able to touch Chris's success yet. Another massive offering was from Sonique.  "It Feels So Good" was just one of those hook-laden songs you just couldn't escape.  Honestly, the breakbeat version was the one everyone clamored for, but I was always partial to the "serious mix" as well, featured here.  Then, of course, we have the bubblegum dance-pop of Eiffel 65's "Blue", the 'I'm in need of a guy song'.  Hey, why else would he be so blue?  That song coupled with "Mambo No. 5" was enough to make me want to hang myself, but you gotta give the people what they want even if it gives you acid reflux. In 2000, we also saw the return of Ann Nesby.  Most of you may not be familiar with her, but she is famous for her early seventies soul hit which she wrote: "I Can't Stand the Rain".  That song alone has been covered by just about everyone and their mother; more notably by Eruption's amazing disco version in 1978 and Tina Turner in 1984.  It was also sampled by Missy Elliot and was her first big hit in the mid-nineties.  Though Ann was most notable for her top twenty hit, she was also the lead singer of the gospel group Sounds of Blackness who also scored several huge club hits in the nineties.  Here, Ann flies solo with a remake of an underground disco classic originally performed by Brainstorm.  I only know this song, because it was prominently featured at the beginning of the movie 54 (of which I am a HUGE fan).  Let's put it this way, she rips this mother apart! I can't catch no man Hangin' out at a discotheque But I believe in the boogie Oh, but the boogie don't believe in me
