Send us Fan MailThis episode is your complete Disney World planning guide for anyone stepping into the role of lead planner for an upcoming trip, whether this is your first time at Disney World or your tenth. I'm walking through my real planning process using our friends who are finally taking their first trip after years of us trying to convince them, but every tool and tip in this episode works no matter how many times you've already been.I start with the three decisions every Disney World trip planner has to make before anything else can fall into place: when you're going, how you're getting there, and where you're staying. Once those are locked in, you can start dissecting your days, but not before. I talk through how we landed on our own dates, why we chose to fly instead of drive this time, and how we balanced a moderate resort stay with a couple of nights using our Disney Vacation Club points so we could stretch our budget during one of the most expensive times of year to visit. From there I get into something most people skip completely when they're figuring out how to plan a Disney World trip, which is understanding your own planning personality, along with the personalities of everyone else coming with you. I share the Disney Enneagram quiz I use, paired with Disney characters, so you can see how a Helper plans differently than an Achiever or a Peacemaker, and why knowing this ahead of time can save you from burnout and save your group from mismatched expectations once you're actually at the parks.I also share the free Disney World planning workbook I use for every single trip we take, and I walk through exactly how I use it with first-timers. That includes a ride questionnaire so I know ahead of time who gets motion sick, who's never been on a roller coaster, and who has specific things they love or hate, like inversions, launches, or dark rides. I cover the Disney family interest survey, which helps me figure out favorite movies and characters before we ever start building a Disney World itinerary, and the Disney vacation style quiz, which is especially useful if you're traveling with another family or group of friends and want to know ahead of time how loose or detailed their vacation style tends to be.This episode also covers the Disney World booking window, including exactly when dining reservations, Enchanted Extras, and Lightning Lane booking open depending on your check-in date. I explain why I always tell people not to touch their actual day-by-day planning until 90 days before the trip, since that's when your 60-day dining window is approaching and most major announcements or refurbishments have already been made. I also share the six-day outlook sheet I use for early brainstorming, which lets you jot down restaurants or experiences you've heard about without locking anything in too soon. You'll also hear about the Disney World packing list system I use for every vacation, not just Disney trips, including how I shop sales year-round and keep everything organized in one vacation box so nothing gets lost between the time I buy it and the day we leave. I talk about the outfit planner I use for coordinating looks for special dinners or park days, and why I don't expect guests traveling with us to match, even though my own family loves doing it.Toward the end, I get into the difference between genuine Disney magic and manufactured magic, especially when it comes to character interactions, dressing kids in bounding outfits, and why some of what you see online from other Disney creators is planned more intentionally than it looks. My goal with this podcast has never been to chase virality. It's to make sure you have the facts so you can have a truly magical trip, whether that means dressing up for extra character attention or just showing up and enjoying the experience as it comes. If you're the one in charge of pulling off a magical trip for your family, your friends, or anyone experiencing Disney World for the first time, I hope this episode gives you a clear, repeatable framework you can use for this trip and every one after it. And if you know someone getting ready for their first Disney World vacation, please share this episode with them so they can start planning with a little less overwhelm and a lot more excitement.Support the showHey Welcome to Well Hello Magic!Well Hell Magic Website Instagram YouTube Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK ShopReady to Plan your Disney Vacation?Free Planning GuideJoin The Newsletter
Send us Fan MailSchool is almost back in session, which means parents everywhere are preparing for one of the biggest transitions of the year. In this episode, we're talking about more than just school supplies and new backpacks. We're diving into the mental side of back-to-school season, how to prepare yourself for the return of early mornings, sports practices, homework, packed schedules, and the inevitable chaos that comes with getting everyone back into a routine. If you've been feeling a little overwhelmed just thinking about it, you're definitely not alone. After that, we switch gears and head to my favorite place: Walt Disney World! Disney's holiday season officially kicks off before you know it, and there's already so much to plan if you're visiting this fall. The main focus of today's episode is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. We break down this year's party dates, what guests can expect, and whether there are any major changes compared to previous years. I also share why I believe we're entering a bit of a "holding pattern" for the party. While there are always small entertainment updates and merchandise changes from year to year, I don't expect to see major overhauls until Disney begins opening its highly anticipated new lands and attractions. We talk about what that means for families trying to decide if this year's party is worth attending and how to set realistic expectations before purchasing tickets. One topic I think every fall Disney visitor needs to understand is the weather, so we spend quite a bit of time discussing what it's really like to visit Walt Disney World in August and September. These are two of the hottest, most humid months of the year in Central Florida, and afternoon thunderstorms are practically part of the daily schedule. We discuss how the weather affects park touring, what to pack, how to stay comfortable in the heat, and why knowing what to expect ahead of time can make a huge difference in your vacation experience. We also take a quick look ahead at Disney's Christmas season. We cover the dates for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights, discuss what makes each event unique, and talk about why they've become some of my favorite special-ticketed events at Walt Disney World. While this episode is just an introduction, I'll be releasing dedicated episodes later that take a much deeper dive into each party, including entertainment, food, strategies, and whether they're worth the additional cost. Before ending the episode, I share something much more personal. I ask for prayers for my dear friend Lauren as she faces an incredibly difficult battle with metastatic breast cancer. I also mention ways listeners can support her family through donations if they feel called to help. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity truly mean more than you know.DONATE HERE: https://gofund.me/dbf589bffIf you enjoy the show, be sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode, and leave a review it helps more families discover the podcast and plan vacations with less stress and more magic. For more Disney planning tips, family travel advice, and ways to minimize parental stress while creating magical memories at home and in the parks, follow @wellhellomagic.Support the showHey Welcome to Well Hello Magic!Well Hell Magic Website Instagram YouTube Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK ShopReady to Plan your Disney Vacation?Free Planning GuideJoin The Newsletter

We're putting each other on the spot with a mix of honest confessions, impossible choices, and hot takes covering everything from ships and staterooms to dining, entertainment, private islands, and more. We're wrapping up an unforgettable Fourth of July weekend at Walt Disney World with plenty of food, fireworks, resort updates, and a few surprises along the way. We kick things off by giving shoutouts to some amazing members of the Main Street Magic community we had the chance to meet before diving into the latest changes around Disney's Polynesian Village Resort—including an update to Wailulu Bar & Grill's menu and the unexpected reason Disney has eliminated zero-proof cocktails across its owned restaurants. From there, we eat our way through the weekend with breakfast at Steakhouse 71, featuring Walt's Prime Rib Hash, seasonal pancakes, a build-your-own omelet, and some must-order sides before heading poolside to Barefoot Pool Bar for refreshing drinks and spicy honey pork wings. We also stop by Trader Sam's Grog Grotto to sample several appetizers and then chat about finishing the trip at Tambu Lounge with a couple of classic favorites. Along the way, we share our thoughts on the new Disney Springs bus procedures, recap what it's like spending Independence Day at Disney's Polynesian Resort, and discuss everything from fireworks to crowd levels to whether this holiday weekend is worth experiencing for yourself. Whether you're planning your next Walt Disney World vacation, looking for honest Disney dining reviews, or just want to spend some time hanging out with us, this episode is packed with food, fun, Disney updates, and plenty of holiday magic.

Curious? Take The Free Money Stress Quiz!Ready? Buy Our Simplified Budget System Now!Budget besties, this episode is such a fun one because we're chatting with Julie, one of Vanessa's private coaching clients and basically the gold-star student of budgeting. Julie and her husband are both teachers, and before coaching, they were stuck in that cycle so many of us know too well: swipe the credit card, pay it off, swipe again, repeat.Once Julie started using the budget system and working with Vanessa, everything started to shift. She paid off credit card debt, cash-flowed Disney and Universal trips, planned for her husband's season tickets, created super-specific savings buckets, and helped her boys start learning how to manage their own spending money. This conversation is such a good reminder that budgeting is not about restriction. Send us Fan MailWhat would your perfect day at Walt Disney World look like if you had to make some tough choices? This week on The Mickeyphile Podcast, Scott and Karen take on the Perfect Disney Day Challenge. The rules are simple: in each Walt Disney World park, they get one snack, one meal, three attractions, one show, and one hidden gem. No unlimited budgets. No trying to do everything. Just the experiences they'd choose if they only had one day to experience each park their way.Would they rope drop Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or head straight for a classic attraction? Is the best EPCOT snack found in World Showcase or somewhere else entirely? Which shows make the cut, and which fan favorites get left behind? Along the way, they compare choices, debate priorities, and discover that building the perfect Disney day isn't as easy as it sounds. Before the challenge begins, they break down several Walt Disney World news stories, including the opening of Level99 at Disney Springs, new transportation restrictions affecting some visitors, Disney's new 2-Day, 2-Park ticket for EPCOT and Animal Kingdom, and the upcoming refurbishment of the Grand Floridian Café.Plus, Fourth of July plans, recent visits to the parks, and plenty of Disney discussion from two Central Florida locals who spend a lot of time in the magic.Play along and see how your perfect Disney day compares to ours.As always, thank you for listening to The Mickeyphile Podcast.

Send us Fan MailA disability accommodation can make the difference between a day that feels doable and a day that melts down before lunch, so we put three major Florida parks side by side and talk about what happened when the plans met reality. We just visited EPCOT, Universal Epic Universe, and SeaWorld on the same trip, and we're sharing an honest, on-the-ground comparison of each park's accessibility approach for our daughter on the spectrum, including what felt supportive and what created extra stress. At Disney, we walk through how the DAS Pass works inside the My Disney Experience app, what to expect once you enter the park, and how we coordinated DAS return times with Lightning Lane so our whole group could stay together. We also cover a real “rain day” problem: what happens when rides shut down and your DAS selection doesn't clear, plus the simple guest services fix that got us moving again.Universal brought a totally different experience. We break down the practical realities of queue re-entry, including the awkward timing, the “send a photo to prove where you are” moments, and why tight queues and lots of stairs can be tough even when waits are short. SeaWorld surprised us with a fast, paper-based process and a sensory guide that clearly explains what to expect on each attraction, which can be a game changer for families managing sensory overload. If you're planning accessible theme park travel, listen for the details, share this with a friend who needs it, and subscribe so you don't miss our next trip debrief. This week on Geekin' on Walt Disney World, I'm joined by two good friends from the Disney podcasting world — Scott and Karen from the Mickeyphile Podcast — for one of those conversations that feels like hanging out in the parks with your Disney pals. We start with a fun day we shared together at Epcot, including time relaxing in the DVC lounge above Figment, catching some live music, and getting a special early look at Soarin' Over America. And yes… there were gasps. Big ones. Scott and Karen bring a ton of Disney experience to the table. They're in the parks often, Scott is a cast member, Karen is deep into the travel planning world, and together they have that perfect mix of Disney knowledge, food opinions, cruise love, and geeky little details that make these conversations so much fun. Planning a Disney Vacation? If you're thinking about planning your next Disney vacation and some Epic Universe… My wife Margita and our good friend Auntie Judy are the Travelin' Tiaras — your trusted Disney travel planners. Whether you're booking Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal, or beyond, they'll help you plan a smart, stress-free vacation from start to finish. Already booked? You can transfer your reservation to us and still get expert tips, strategy, and support — and it's a great way to support the show. TravelinTiaras@gmail.com Or reach out on Facebook Messenger. In This Episode We talk about: Our spoiler-light reactions to Soarin' Over America Why the DVC lounges are such a great hidden perk Favorite current Disney experiences, including BoardWalk, Chefs de France, Citricos, and fireworks cruises Underrated gems like Tiffins, PeopleMover, Little Mermaid, and the Fort Wilderness Segway tour What cast members do behind the scenes to create unexpected magical moments Why Disney Cruise Line feels like “Disney at its best” Palo brunch, cruise fireworks, ship horns, and emotional embarkation moments Planning advice from Karen, including why flexibility matters and why choosing a resort only by price can backfire One of my favorite parts of the episode is hearing Scott talk about cast member pixie dust — those little surprise moments that can turn a guest's day completely around. We also get into what cast members appreciate from guests, and it's a really sweet reminder that kindness goes both ways in Disney World. Then the conversation shifts into Disney Cruise Line, and you can hear how much Scott and Karen love that experience. From Palo brunch to fireworks at sea to the moment your family name is announced when you board the ship, they explain why cruising with Disney hits people emotionally in a way that's hard to describe until you've done it. But the heart of the episode comes near the end. Karen shares that Disney is the place that helps her forget about everything else for a while — the place that brings her true happiness. And I think a lot of us Disney Geeks understand that feeling. It's not always about riding every ride or having the perfect plan. Sometimes it's sitting on a balcony at BoardWalk while it rains. Sometimes it's hearing the Disney Cruise Line horn. Sometimes it's walking under the Disney World sign and feeling your shoulders drop. And sometimes it's just spending time with friends who get it. Join the Geekin' Family What Disney experience keeps calling you back? Is it a resort, a restaurant, a ride, a cruise, or a simple little moment that just feels like home? Come share it with us in the Geekin' on WDW Facebook group — we'd love to hear your story. And if you've got a Disney trip report, cruise story, or special Disney memory to share, I'd love to have you come on the show. Send us Fan MailPlanning your first Disney Cruise Line vacation? Wondering what embarkation day actually looks like with kids? Trying to decide if your family would rather cruise than do the Disney parks? This episode is for you. After sailing on the Disney Dream for a 3-night cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, I finally understand why people become “cruise families.” My kids were genuinely mad we had to get off the ship and immediately started asking when we could go back. Honestly… I'm a little worried I created monsters because now they think every vacation should involve unlimited ice cream, kids clubs, Broadway-style shows, and room service. In this episode, I'm breaking down our full Disney Dream cruise recap, including embarkation day chaos, kids club registration, rotational dining, what worked for our family of six, and the things I would absolutely do differently next time.We talk about: • What embarkation day really looks like on Disney Cruise Line • Disney Dream embarkation tips and mistakes • Boarding the Disney Dream with kids • Oceaneer Club, Edge, and Vibe registration • How long kids club check-in actually took us • Why I don't think 3-night Disney cruises are long enough • Rotational dining and Disney cruise food • What my family loved most about Disney Cruise Line • Why Disney cruises feel so different from the parks • The stress level difference between Walt Disney World and cruising • Disney Cruise Line tips for first-time cruisers • Disney cruise planning advice for families • Disney cruise packing and travel logistics • Things I wish I knew before sailing on the Disney DreamI also share the emotional side of the trip as a mom and longtime Disney planner because cruising honestly surprised me. There was something about being on the ship that felt slower, easier, and more relaxing than a park vacation in a way I didn't expect. If you're researching: Disney Cruise Line for beginners, Disney Dream reviews, Disney cruise embarkation day, Disney Cruise Line with kids, Disney Cruise Line with teens, Disney cruise food, Disney cruise planning tips, first Disney cruise advice, Disney cruise family vacation ideas, or Disney Dream cruise recaps… this episode will help you know what to expect before you sail. And yes, we absolutely discuss the post-cruise depression of having to leave the ship after only three nights. For more tips on minimizing parental stress at the Disney parks and on Disney Cruise Line, follow @wellhellomagic.Support the showHey Welcome to Well Hello Magic!Well Hell Magic Website Instagram YouTube Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK ShopReady to Plan your Disney Vacation?Free Planning GuideJoin The Newsletter
