Send us a textToday I am joined by Drew Anderson. Drew was abandoned and adopted at a very young age. He eventually turned to a life of crime while trying to find identity. Drew had a few taps on his shoulder from the Lord wanting him to change. Such as being shot in the face and run over by a car. There is a reason that Drew is still alive today and sharing his life story with us. Pay close attention as Drew takes us back to when the Lord saved his life on more than one occasion.
Buy Your Ticket to the Beyond the Walls Concert: https://linktr.ee/redwoodchristianministries In this episode of The Rooted in Christ Podcast, our host Eric Stephens is sitting down with Drew Anderson, a reformed former criminal whose lifestyle had him pronounced dead. Drew Anderson was saved from certain death multiple times, he was hit by a vehicle on one occasion, and was shot in the face from just 6 feet away - after the shooting he was pronounced dead, his parents were called to identify the body, but before they could arrive he woke up in the body bag. Jesus gave him a second chance at life, and now he is looking to lead others to God while deterring them from the path of destruction that his life almost ended on. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/redwood-christian-ministries/support

According to a new study published in Science, operations in Alberta's oilsands are pumping out as much as 64 times more air pollutants than officially reported. How could industry estimates be missing these huge amounts of chemicals? What could the health and environmental consequences be? How does this study add to other concerns that don't we truly understand the impact of the oil sands? Drew Anderson is the Prairies reporter for The Narwhal, whose team of investigative journalists report on the natural world. Danielle Smith's Sovereignty Act is like trying to get away with amending the Constitution via a hastily-scrawled Post-it note, flimsily affixed while no one's looking. Since the Kearl mine in northern Alberta began production on Treaty 8 territory in 2013, the company has touted technological innovations that they say “enhance environmental performance.” Yet for months, wastewater from the mine's tailings ponds, containing arsenic, hydrocarbons and sulphides has been seeping into the land. The company that runs the mine, Imperial Oil, first reported the leak in May 2022 to the provincial regulator. But Chief Allan Adam of the nearby Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation says his community only learned of the seepage last month. That's created anxiety, says Chief Adam, because people have been hunting, fishing and trapping without knowing there was a risk of contamination. Drew Anderson, the Narwhal's Prairies reporter, joins us today to walk us through how the leak happened, Alberta's tailings pond debate and who's accountable. This is the third episode in a weeklong collaboration between The Big Story and The Narwhal, an award-winning non-profit publication that provides in-depth coverage of climate issues across Canada.More than 200 million people could be displaced from their homes worldwide in the next few decades as extreme weather events become more frequent and intense. The biggest climate change risk in Canada? Flooding. Just last year, floods in B.C. wiped out roads, killed five people and left thousands stranded without food and water. In the Prairies, reporter Drew Anderson talked to people in the tiny, flood-prone community of Lehigh, Alta., who are being bought out of their homes before rising waters destroy them. Government reports say that Canadians need to learn to live with water — but what exactly does that mean?GUEST: Drew Anderson, Narwhal's Prairies reporter, based in CalgaryYou can read Drew's story, “This was our forever home”: floods, climate change and the end of one Alberta community, here.Read more of Drew's stories here.

Earlier this year, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed Universal ESA's into law within the state. Arizona, already a school choice leader, was suddenly propelled into the national spotlight, adding ESA's for every Arizona student to the already thriving state tuition tax credit system. When Ducey signed the law, he had Pastor Drew Anderson on hand to commemorate the moment for the media that had gathered to report the occasion. Pastor Anderson did not mince words: School choice is the defining civil rights issue of our generation. Further, he reiterated, Arizona's Universal ESA moment was the greatest civil rights moment in the United States since the founding of our country. As shocking as a statement like that may be, there was another shocker in play: Pastor Drew Anderson is a registered and politically active Democrat. Why is that shocking? In Anderson's view, school choice has largely been the domain of Republican white guys and, as a result, unless the political left wakes up to the educational perils plaguing this generation, we are going to miss out on a historical moment. So, how did Pastor Anderson buck the Democratic trends? Why is school choice a civil rights issue? Today we find out!For more information on Pastor Drew Anderson and his ministry, please click here.To read the Arizona Daily Independent op-ed pieced penned by Anderson, please follow this link.To watch the moment in which Anderson, a Democrat, was recognized, commended, and celebrated before the Arizona Senate by Arizona Republicans, please click here."Kingdom Culture Conversations" is a podcast created through Frameworks, a Biblical worldview initiative of Northwest Christian School. For more information on Frameworks, please visit: https://frameworks.ncsaz.org/For more information on Northwest Christian School, visit: https://www.ncsaz.org/To reach out to Geoff Brown, please email gbrown@ncsaz.org or you can reach him by cell phone: (623)225-5573.

Are we more American than Christian? That's the question asked by Drew Anderson in his book, No Longer Self Evident. Drew is lead pastor of Sumter Chapel, a Wesleyan church in Americus, Georgia. Without vilifying or baptizing American identity, Drew asks us to untangle those aspects of our Christianity that may be more informed by our national cultural than by the gospel itself.

The government's message to Albertans was to stay home over the holidays, but a growing list of UCP MLAs and staff members spent Christmas vacationing outside the country. The news dominated headlines and social media this week. Premier Jason Kenney released a statement saying the “individuals demonstrated extremely poor judgment.” Grande Prairie MLA Tracy Allard has resigned as minister of municipal affairs, the premier's chief of staff was reportedly asked to resign, and five other UCP MLAs have been demoted. Even still, Albertans are angry. This week on The Loop, CBC web journalist Drew Anderson looks at the staying power of this political scandal, and reporter Josee St-Onge examines whether this impacts how Albertans will follow COVID restrictions. We'll also hear from a physiotherapist that says working from home might mean you're moving less and experiencing more aches and pains. Plus, it has been one year since Flight PS752 was shot down in Tehran by the Iranian government and the husband of one of the victims is still waiting for answers.
