We are back and ready to cover more great Euro games with Daniel Wahlen of The Game Table! This time, we focus on the new hotness that 2023 has generously brought us, but if you're more into modern-day remakes or sequels to legendary classics, make sure to check out Part 1. In this episode, we give our impressions on... Timeline:  2:30 - Nucleum. 21:41 - Distilled. 30:45 - 3 Ring Circus. 43:18 - Noteworthy: Darwin's Journey, Stefan Feld's City Collection, Marrakesh, The White Castle.

Euros, Euros, and gyros! We love a good Euro-style strategy game, but we couldn't cover all the great releases this year in just one podcast. Especially when we're chatting with fellow enthusiast Daniel Wahlen of The Game Table -- we just have so much to talk about! So in part one, we cover some fantastic remakes and sequels to some legendary classics. (And yes, we did pause during one of our Euro gaming days to eat some gyros....) Timeline: 3:12 - Age of Innovation. 18:13 - Bruxelles 1893: Belle Époque. 33:19 - Zhanguo: The First Empire. 43:22 - Other fantastic remakes/sequels! (Great Western Trails, Stefan Feld City Collection, Ultimate Railroads, The Castles of Burgundy...)

Episode 140 Streamed Live Tuesday May 23, 2023 Main Topic: What is the Player's job at the game table? Talked about the job of the DM and a few ways it can be approached. Let's do the same for the folks on the other side of the screen. Don'tbe a jerk. Learn the rules related to your character. Build characters that get along well in a group environment. Try to do things that are not just fun for you. Know what you want to do on your turn (especially/mainly in tense moments such as combat). Pay attention during such moments. Try to fit in with the group's style. If not, then kindly excuse yourself. Realize your PC isn't the star and could bite the bullet. There is plenty of extra paper to make a new PC. Do NOT try tobreak the game with your uber-PC. Don't overly gimp your PC to become a drain on the group. Don't be overly cautious…engage the scenario/challenge/situation. If the game is long term, try to get the $ to invest in a copy of the rules. Do NOT cheat! Campaign Analysis: Homebrew vs Published/pre-made World. Played Hyperborea, used pre-made adventure -thoughts on the session. On this special episode Mitch, Mike, Dan and Conor kick off Oceania Month with the designer of the much-loved Hadrian's Wall: Bobby Hill. Bobby shares with us what games helped inspire Hadrian's Wall, lets us into the clandestine goings-on of his gaming group, laments as he slowly evolves into his father, and lets us in on his next project! In the Board Game Bracket we settle the last match-up, Wingspan vs Lords of Waterdeep, before we tee up the next battle: Viticulture vs Quacks of Quedlinburg. To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials. Finally, in Swear An Oath Dan played Targi for the first time and loved it, but is still gearing up to the Under Falling Skies campaign. Mike got Clank in Space to the table and is now seriously wondering if he bothers keeping the original Clank! Conor played Imperial Settlers with Adrian, and also played Oath to mixed feelings from the group. Meanwhile Mitch is still mentally preparing to play Cerebria. New oaths include to beat a personal best in Hadrian's Wall (Dan), Railroad Ink (Mike), Zapotech (Conor), to take a break and smell the roses (Bobby), and After The Virus (Mitch). This video aims to give tips for people who have ADD and ADHD and managing their symptoms at the table so they can be at their best. There are tons of videos explaining what ADHD and ADD is, there are far less geared towards those of us living with this condition and how to manage it. ADD and ADHD is nothing to be embarrassed about, in fact it should be celebrated. Knowing what the issues are for for your particular brand of ADD/ADHD allows us to find ways to deal with them in a healthy and constructive manner.
