Kerstin Ekmans Rätten att häda från 1994 är ett rykande försvar för yttrandefriheten och det klara förnuftet. Ulrika Knutson läser en text som samtidigt är högaktuell och en produkt av sin tid. Publicerad 2020-08-17.Sverige har världens äldsta tryckfrihetslagar, från 1766. Vi kan tacka Peter Forsskål för dem. Hans pamflett Tankar om Borgerliga Friheten inspirerade några år tidigare. Högst av alla friheter satte han skriv-friheten.Hans text blev genast indragen av censuren och Forsskål fick gå i landsflykt. Det passade honom inte så illa. Han var en av Linnés lärjungar. Tyvärr dog han i Jemen, bara 31 år gammal. Linné döpte en liten nässla efter honom, till Forsskalea Tennacissima - "kärv, stickig, hårdnackad och envis".Som Linnélärjunge strävade Forsskål efter nytta. Skrivfriheten hade ganska lite med jagets romantiska uttrycksbehov att göra. Snarare handlade det om jagets behov av kunskap.Alla medborgare måste få bli bekanta med "samhällets tillstånd", ansåg Forsskål. Det var en djärv åsikt på hans tid, när de flesta svenskar slet ont i jordbruket och inte begärde mer än en sup eller två när arbetsdagen var slut. Samhällets tillstånd orkade ingen bry sig om.Men Forsskål var optimist. Han trodde på folkbildning. Friheten krävde inte bara fri press utan ett "upplyst publikum".Idag lever vi i det fria ordets paradox. Ordet är friare än någonsin - hos oss i Sverige - men Forsskål hade nog tyckt att "den upplysta publiken" beter sig konstigt. Konspirationer och fakta-resistens skulle han inte ha gillat. Han hade väntat mer av det klara förnuft som också Kerstin Ekman hyllar i sitt tal Rätten att häda. Hållet den 15 oktober 1994.När hon talade hade krutröken ännu inte lagt sig. Bara fem år tidigare hade Ekman och Lars Gyllensten lämnat Svenska Akademien, i protest mot att den vägrat ge sitt stöd åt Salman Rushdie. Hans roman Satansverserna hade de iranska ayatollornas fatwa över sig. Rushdie hade gått under jorden. Bara året innan hade hans norske förläggare William Nygaard nätt och jämnt överlevt ett mordattentat. Faran är inte över. Det finns fortfarande ett pris på Salman Rushdies huvud.Texten var länge ur tryck, men återpublicerades våren 2020 i tidskriften Essä, tillsammans med sex kommenterande texter. Kerstin Ekmans tal är dubbelt läsvärt, både som appell för yttrandefriheten och som kulturhistorisk produkt av sin tid. 1994 är länge sedan.Talet speglar tiden före den stora mediala revolutionen. Webb och sociala medier var knappt påtänkta. Mobiler låg inte i var mans ficka. Det var bara fem år efter murens fall. Svenska Akademiens uppfattning vägde tungt. Och märk väl, en av de få som fällts för detta brott är ingen vanekriminell, utan serieöversättaren Simon Lundström, som i sin dator hade japanska mangateckningar. "Döma teckningar, är svenskarna inte riktigt kloka"? undrade den amerikanska fotografen Sally Mann.Kerstin Ekmans text är kärv, stickig och envis, som Forsskåls nässla. Riktigt giftig när hon skildrar den svenska aningslösa välviljan, de "rosiga kindernas cynism" - till exempel i form av ekosocialister som drömmer om ett paradis bortom demokratin. Detta fenomen försvann inte med nittiotalet. "De rosiga kindernas cynism" - vilket uttryck - blossar upp då och då, både i klimatdebatten och i identitetspolitiken. Eller vad ska man säga om Uppsala universitet som glömde allt de visste om akademisk frihet och källkritik, och mästrade kulturantropologen Ingalill Arvidsson för att hon på ett seminarium, uppmanad att svara på en fråga om uppslagsord i gamla arkiv, använt n-ordet, som var det konkreta uppslagsordet. Detta inte menat som stöd för de frihetskämpar som bryr sig mindre om samhällets tillstånd än rätten att köpa n-ordsbollar i närbutiken så fort suget slår till.Kerstin Ekman talar också om "den vämjeliga bönhustraditionen" i Sverige, med dess drag av botgöring och underkastelse. Detta förstod nog den bildade borgerligheten för 25 år sedan, särskilt om de legat i Uppsala och lyssnat på när Ingmar Hedenius läste lusen av biskoparna. Men idag i världens modernaste land - vem ska ta åt sig? 68-vänstern eller P O Enquist och arvet från Hjoggböle. Lite bönhus ska väl den sekulariserade svensken tåla?Kerstin Ekmans text kommenteras hövligt av sex olika författare. Det är bara Agneta Pleijel som törs ta henne på allvar, och svara på Ekmans skarpa kritik av religion, och av Birgitta Trotzig. Pleijel menar att Kerstin Ekman gick för långt när hon skrev att intresset för plågade sovjetiska öden, som poeterna Mandelstam, Tsvetajeva och Achmatova, ibland fått karaktären av dödsfascination - "en på mycket långt håll ljuv svindel inför deras undergång".Detta är inget huvudspår i Kerstin Ekmans text, men det är starka ord. Kerstin Ekman själv, liksom Hjalmar Söderberg, uppehåller sig ofta vid nazisternas illgärningar, utan svindel vid avgrunden. Detta måste ha med tiden att göra. Det var ju 1994, de sovjetiska arkiven hade just blivit tillgängliga och alla fynden gav många rubriker. Det var först då som man fick veta att Osip Mandelstam verkligen dog i ett uppsamlingsläger på väg till Vladivostok. Det kan förresten vara på sin plats att påminna om att de ryska arkiven inte längre är öppna. Putin sitter på nycklarna sedan många år. Men då hade fakta just börjat röra sig. Kunde detta förväxlas med dödsfascination?Ett uppriktigt tack får Kerstin Ekman från Mohammad Fazlhashemi, nu professor i islamsk teologi och filosofi i Uppsala. Han ger bakgrunden till fatwan mot Rushdie, hur den shiamuslimske ayatollan Khomeini hittade ett utrymme för att framstå som den sanne försvararen av islam, också i sunniters ögon. Det var ett politiskt mästardrag. Mycket tragiskt däremot, att inte de diplomatiska ansträngningarna förmådde efterträdaren Khamenei att lätta på fatwan. Ett tag såg det så ut.Vad Mohammad Fazlhashemi tackar Kerstin Ekman för är att hennes klara förnuft vägrade skuldbelägga alla muslimer för brottet mot Rushdie, något som sker då och då, i vår upplysta tid. Professor Fazlhashemi bidrar med en personlig anekdot. När debatten rasade som värst skulle han själv lämna in bilen till reparation hemma i Umeå. Mekanikern tog nycklarna, spände ögonen i professorn och ville ha besked, inte om kardanknutar eller bromsar. Han ville veta om kunden var villig att verkställa den dödliga fatwan mot Rushdie och hans svenska förläggare. Fazlhashemi skakade av sig alla känslor frågan väckte, och gav ett kort och koncist svar: Nej!Ett kvarts sekel går fort. Mycket hinner hända, eller händer inte alls. Ungefär vid samma tid då tidskriften Essä tryckte om Kerstin Ekmans text ombads Svenska Akademien att lägga ett ord för den fängslade svenske medborgaren Gui minhai. Men Akademien tyckte inte att det var deras uppgift att försvara Guis yttrandefrihet. Det finns andra organisationer som sköter sådana saker betydligt bättre än Akademien, enligt ständige sekreteraren. Några år senare svängde det - idag är det förbjudet att inneha, till och med att betrakta en sådan bild. Och märk väl, en av de få som fällts för detta brott är ingen vanekriminell, utan serieöversättaren Simon Lundström, som i sin dator hade japanska mangateckningar. "Döma teckningar, är svenskarna inte riktigt kloka"? undrade den amerikanska fotografen Sally Mann. Kerstin Ekmans text är kärv, stickig och envis, som Forsskåls nässla. Riktigt giftig när hon skildrar den svenska aningslösa välviljan, de "rosiga kindernas cynism" - till exempel i form av ekosocialister som drömmer om ett paradis bortom demokratin. Detta fenomen försvann inte med nittiotalet. "De rosiga kindernas cynism" - vilket uttryck - blossar upp då och då, både i klimatdebatten och i identitetspolitiken. Eller vad ska man säga om Uppsala universitet som glömde allt de visste om akademisk frihet och källkritik, och mästrade kulturantropologen Ingalill Arvidsson för att hon på ett seminarium, uppmanad att svara på en fråga om uppslagsord i gamla arkiv, använt n-ordet, som var det konkreta uppslagsordet. Detta inte menat som stöd för de frihetskämpar som bryr sig mindre om samhällets tillstånd än rätten att köpa n-ordsbollar i närbutiken så fort suget slår till. Kerstin Ekman talar också om "den vämjeliga bönhustraditionen" i Sverige, med dess drag av botgöring och underkastelse. Detta förstod nog den bildade borgerligheten för 25 år sedan, särskilt om de legat i Uppsala och lyssnat på när Ingmar Hedenius läste lusen av biskoparna. Men idag i världens modernaste land  - vem ska ta åt sig? 68-vänstern eller P O Enquist och arvet från Hjoggböle. Lite bönhus ska väl den sekulariserade svensken tåla? Kerstin Ekmans text kommenteras hövligt av sex olika författare. Det är bara Agneta Pleijel som törs ta henne på allvar, och svara på Ekmans skarpa kritik av religion, och av Birgitta Trotzig. Pleijel menar att Kerstin Ekman gick för långt när hon skrev att intresset för plågade sovjetiska öden, som poeterna Mandelstam, Tsvetajeva och Achmatova, ibland fått karaktären av dödsfascination - "en på mycket långt håll ljuv svindel inför deras undergång". Detta är inget huvudspår i Kerstin Ekmans text, men det är starka ord. Kerstin Ekman själv, liksom Hjalmar Söderberg, uppehåller sig ofta vid nazisternas illgärningar, utan svindel vid avgrunden. Detta måste ha med tiden att göra. Det var ju 1994, de sovjetiska arkiven hade just blivit tillgängliga och alla fynden gav många  rubriker. Det var först då som man fick veta att Osip Mandelstam verkligen dog i ett uppsamlingsläger på väg till Vladivostok. Det kan förresten vara på sin plats att påminna om att de ryska arkiven inte längre är öppna. Putin sitter på nycklarna sedan många år. Men då hade fakta just börjat röra sig. Kunde detta förväxlas med dödsfascination? Ett uppriktigt tack får Kerstin Ekman från Mohammad Fazlhashemi, nu professor i islamsk teologi och  filosofi i Uppsala. Han ger bakgrunden till fatwan mot Rushdie, hur den shiamuslimske ayatollan Khomeini hittade ett utrymme för att framstå som den sanne försvararen av islam, också i sunniters ögon. Det var ett politiskt mästardrag. Mycket tragiskt däremot, att inte de diplomatiska ansträngningarna förmådde efterträdaren Khamenei att lätta på fatwan. Ett tag såg det så ut. Vad Mohammad Fazlhashemi tackar Kerstin Ekman för är att hennes klara förnuft vägrade skuldbelägga alla muslimer för brottet mot Rushdie, något som sker då och då, i vår upplysta tid. Professor Fazlhashemi bidrar med en personlig anekdot. När debatten rasade som värst skulle han själv lämna in bilen till reparation hemma i Umeå. Mekanikern tog nycklarna, spände ögonen i professorn och ville ha besked, inte om kardanknutar eller bromsar. Han ville veta om kunden var villig att verkställa den dödliga fatwan mot Rushdie och hans svenska förläggare. Fazlhashemi skakade av sig alla känslor frågan väckte, och gav ett kort och koncist svar: Nej! Ett kvarts sekel går fort. Mycket hinner hända, eller händer inte alls. Ungefär vid samma tid då tidskriften Essä tryckte om Kerstin Ekmans text ombads Svenska Akademien att lägga ett ord för den fängslade svenske medborgaren Gui minhai. Men Akademien tyckte inte att det var deras uppgift att försvara Guis yttrandefrihet. Det finns andra organisationer som sköter sådana saker betydligt bättre än Akademien, enligt ständige sekreteraren. Och det är ju tur. Your support allows us to spend more time on the show and really means a great deal to us! https://www.patreon.com/RedMoonRoleplaying TAROTICUM 04: LEE-METFORD The Lee-Metford rifle was a bolt-action rifle that replaced the aging breech-loaded Martini-Henry rifle as the British Army's service rifle in 1888. It was much faster than the Martini-Henry and the bolt's rotation was only 60 degrees compared to the 90 degrees of similar German and French rifles. It had one major drawback however and that was its reliance on the extremely smoky black powder as a propellant. The rifle was supposed to utilize cordite which is smokeless, but production delays made the makers of the rifle have to rely on black powder. In 1896 the Lee-Metford was phased out in favour of the Lee-Enfield rifle, which used smokeless powder and is still utilized to this day with units in especially the developing countries of the commonwealth. During World War 2 the Lee-Metford found itself converted in to an automatic rifle in New Zealand and Australia due to the lack of Bren and Lewis guns. The Lee-Metford remains in use by one unit today, the Atholl Highlanders in Scotland. The cat o’ nine tails is a whip with nine “claws”, knotted thongs of cotton cord, designed to lacerate the skin in parallel wounds. It was used for corporal punishment, for example in the Royal Navy, where flogging was regularly administered for drunkenness or striking an officer. These offenses could give you a dozen lashes whereas desertion, mutiny or theft could give you up to five hundred. In the case of the “offense” of sodomy the death penalty was normally administered, but an alternative to this was awarding one thousand lashes – something that carried a similar chance of survival. “Flogging around the fleet” was the severest form of flogging where the offender was rowed between the ships in port, being flogged at each ship. This continued over months and years until the sailor died. After having endured each round of punishment the sailor’s back was rinsed with seawater which was then mistakenly thought to help reduce the risk of infection. The expression “rubbing salt into his wounds” is said to come from this practice. The Strand was a monthly magazine published from 1891 to 1950 featuring fiction, illustrations and puzzles. At its peak it sold half a million copies every month. Sir Athur Conan Doyle’s character Sherlock Holmes began its life in The Strand through the serialization of “The Hounds of Baskervilles” and it was during that time the magazine reached its peak in sales. Other contributors included Rudyard Kipling, Winston Churchill and even Queen Victoria herself. The Great Patriotic War came to define the soul of the Soviet Union. It was a brutal, merciless slaughter and the Soviet war dead, both civilian and military, is estimated at 25 million people. 1.5 million of those died at the Siege of Leningrad. It was the sacrifice and perseverance of the people of the Soviet Union that ultimately defeated Nazi Germany. But what followed the war was not peace, but a Cold War, a paranoid regime that murdered millions of its own people, tried to control their thoughts and worked them to death in gulags. A dictatorship that made slaves of the people they supposedly had liberated.  Half of Europe was plunged in to a repressive darkness… and dawn did not break until 1989. Yet, the sacrifices of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War are celebrated every year on May 9th at Red Square. Victory Day. This is the end. Apotheosis. Mikhail Sergeyvich Gorbachev was the eighth and last leader of the Soviet Union. He launched the policies of glasnost and perestroika, allowed free speech and established elected legislatures at every level of power. His goal was not the destruction of the Soviet Union or the dismantling of the communist state, it was to modernize and reform the country. The communist system was a dictatorship with little regard for human rights yes, but Gorbachev insisted that there were many positive aspects that were worth saving. “We were too late with our reforms… The Soviet Union offered lots of prospects to those who lived there, and it could have had a future if it had modernized and adapted to new challenges. Yes, I regret its collapse very much” he said in an interview in 2011. Gorbachev was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1990 for his role in ending the Cold War. A dream came true for us when we got the chance to have a lengthy conversation with Gunilla Jonsson and Michael Petersen, the designers of the The Black Madonna and the original KULT that came out in 1991. Today they are working on new material for KULT: Divinity Lost as well as a novel set in the universe, and we got an opportunity to talk to them about the history of the game, as well as the future! OMON, Otryad Militsii Osobogo Naznacheniya (the Special Purpose Police Unit) were created as the special forces of the Soviet police in 1988. It is a paramilitary force and used without hesitation to violently crack down on demonstrations and riots. They were also used extensively during the dissolution of the Soviet Union as well as the later conflict in Chechnya. Their signature is the black berets that they wear. They were regularly deployed to disrupt the Moscow Pride parade and harass and arrest those participating. In 2012 a Moscow court banned gay pride parades in the city for the next one hundred years. Allan Chumak was a faith healer whose TV show was popular in the years before the fall of the Soviet Union. Having lost their faith in communism and their government the populace turned to the supernatural and the “extrasensory powers” of Chumak. It was believed that he was capable of “distance-healing” and could make any liquid become a medicine able to heal illnesses. In anticipation of the show viewers across Russia would put jars with water, toothpaste and other liquids in front of their TV screens, waiting for Chumak to apply his powers through the airwaves. At its peak his show had millions of viewers, viewers hoping that a former journalist turned healer could make them healthy and… perhaps even help alleviate their fears of the impending collapse. Mikoyan Gurevich 29, MiG-29. A beautiful killer, commissioned by Soviet High Command in 1969 specifically to dominate the air and counter the threat posed by the F-15 and F-16 fighter platforms. NATO designated it “Fulcrum”, one of the more flattering designations given to a Soviet aircraft. When the wall fell and Germany was reunited, the new German state retained a number of MiG-29s from the former East German Nationale Volksarmee. This was the first time NATO was able to get their hands on one of these planes and the German squadron flying the Fulcrums found themselves bombarded with requests from NATO pilots for a chance to fly against them. The biggest advantage the MiG-29 had was the monocular lens system the pilot could wear, giving him the ability to lock R73-Vympel missiles on targets far away from where the aircraft's nose was pointed to. Together with an excellent air frame this made the MiG-29 truly deadly in dogfights, humbling many of the foreign visitors in their first tangles with the Fulcrum. Hauptsturmführer Sigmund Rascher was a doctor with the SS and, through his wife, a personal friend of Himmler. During the war he conducted several horrific human experiments at the concentration camp in Dachau. He had prisoners put in pressure chambers, trying to simulate the change in pressure that pilots falling freely from very high altitudes would experience. He also put prisoners in icewater tanks for hours, trying to find ways of curing hypothermia. One attempt was made to rewarm the victims by throwing them in boiling water. Another through human warmth, by placing the victim between naked Romani women from the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Rascher also experimented with blood coagulation and a compound named Polygal that would make wounds close faster. Subjects were given the compound and then shot with a pistol or had their limbs amputated to study the effects. Rascher met his end after having tried to trick Himmler that his wife had given birth to three children even after reaching the age of 48; that he had unlocked the secrets of fertility. Himmler used this in propaganda material and when it then turned out that Rascher had simply purchased or kidnapped the babies, Himmler felt betrayed. Rascher's punishment was to be sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp as a prisoner. He was finally moved to Dachau, were he had committed his inhuman experiments, and executed at the camp on the orders of Himmler three days before the Americans liberated it. Especially among the far-right , the term ”metapolitics” is used to refer to activities that try to influence the political climate and politicians, without necessarily running in an election and hoping to win. The gist of the idea is that in situations when the idea itself, or the message carrier, is tainted by history to the mainstream public (such as in the case of the far-right) you need to begin by changing the political discourse and slowly making ideas that used to be unthinkable seem acceptable and logical. This way, you make your own ideas and your party an acceptable and reasonable alternative to vote for, in spite of its history. The easiest way to do this is by generating fear, creating distrust in the institutions of society and leveraging inherent xenophobia. A certain percentage of the population will always be swayed by this and “politicians finally daring to tell the truth”. The established parties will have no choice but to respond and often this will force them to start adopting your ideas, ultimately positioning you as a fully normal political force among others. Perhaps they will even invite you to join a ruling coalition? You would be surprised the compromises politicians are willing to make when the power to govern is on the line. That is when you make your final move. Romulus, the first king of Rome, appointed 12 lictors to attend him. The lictors were bodyguards, strongly built men and often Centurions retired from the legion. They were assigned to Rome's emperors, magistrates and consuls. They carried fasces, bundles of wood sometimes including an axe with its blade emerging. This symbolized their power to, upon their master's command, punish Roman citizens and carry out capital punishment. The number of lictors a magistrate commanded symbolized his "imperium", or power to command. The Roman emperors had 12, which was increased to 24 for Dictators. The ideological center of the SS was at Wewelsburg castle in North Rhine-Westphalia. The organization was very interested in esoteric concepts and mysticism and it is believed that the castle still holds many secrets. One of them is in the Obergruppenführer hall, a room held up by twelve columns and with a dark sun symbol embedded in the floor. It is said that the floor design was made on the request of Himmler based on an "old Aryan emblem". Each spoke of the sun wheel supposedly represents one "knight" of the ”Order of Death’s head”, the inner core of the SS. Today the symbol is used by Neo-Nazis as an alternative to the, in many countries, outlawed swastika. Some believe that the black sun is a mystical source of energy, "capable of regenerating the Aryan race". “Vit Aggression” was a Swedish white power music group active during the late 80’s and 90’s. The members were affiliated with the Swedish branch of the Neo-Nazi organization “White Aryan Resistance” and they named their first album “Död åt Zog”, or “ Death to the Zionist Occupational Government”. Their sound is a mix between punk rock and heavy metal fairly typical for bands active on the white power scene In 1998 Vit Aggression played at the Brottby Neo-Nazi rock concert. Riot police ended up storming the concert and arresting 250 participants, most for hate speech and for doing Nazi salutes. Earlier, in 1991, they played at an event organized by the Sweden Democrats, a Swedish far right party with roots in Neo-Nazism, after a demonstration they held at the statue of Charles XII in Stockholm. Today the Sweden Democrats are Sweden’s third largest political party, with opinion polls for a time showing them to be the second largest. In the waning days of 1980 the motorcycle gang “United MC” made history by becoming the first chapter of the Hells Angels in Scandinavia. This was not a move welcomed by their rivals who in response formed a crew designed specifically to counter the influence of the Hells Angels. The crew was called “Bullshit MC” and made their home in Christiania, the free town in Copenhagen were the trade in cannabis was tolerated. Bullshit MC grew rich there for a few years and in 1983 decided that the time had come to pay the new Hells Angels chapter a “visit”. That visit started a war lasting for two years and four months. Eight members of Bullshit MC, one Hells Angels member and two civilians lost their lives during the violent shootouts. Bullshit MC was blamed for the loss of civilian life and when the police raided their club house they found a corpse buried underneath the floor. The Hells Angels had emerged victorious… but they would soon meet new resistance. In 1967 the Romanian Communist Party, under Nicolae Ceaușescu, issued Decree 770. The decree banned abortion in all but a few cases and banned contraception. The goal was to counter the drop in births that had begun as a result of the high female labor participation and liberal abortion policies. Sex education was even changed to focus on the benefits of motherhood, mothers bearing many children being seen as heroes. The economy was extremely weak and poverty widespread however, leaving poor families unable to provide for their families and illegal abortion as the only way out. The use of primitive methods thus increased sharply, leading to many cases of sterility, infection and even death. Many children were also abandoned, and ended up in orphanages where conditions could be truly horrid. The children would be tied down to their beds or by their own clothing. Often the children would be left naked, sitting in their own urine because the staff had failed to put clothes on them. The mostly untrained staff was encouraged to discipline the children by hitting them, and through this the older children learnt to the beat the younger. The 70’s was a dark time for New York. The economic recession had devastated the city’s industrial sector and in just five years it had lost over 500,000 manufacturing jobs. Unemployment soared and a million households ended up having to rely on welfare. With the social turmoil of the 60’s having led the middle class to flee the city for the suburbs, New York was now running out of funds and was forced to make substantial budget cuts. Among the areas cut the hardest was law enforcement. These two factors combined led to rapes and burglaries tripling, car thefts and felony assaults doubling and murders going up from 700 a year to almost 1700. This was Fear City. On August 19th 1991, hardliners within the Communist party, backed by the KGB, attempted to seize control of the Soviet government. They were opposed to the reforms and decentralization of power, from Moscow to the republics, that had been launched by Gorbachev. Armored units and paratroops descended upon Moscow, TV and radio stations were occupied and the KGB arrested a number of key deputies. However, the conspirators made one fatal mistake by failing to arrest Russian President Boris Yeltsin. Over the coming days he ended up leading civil resistance against the coup from outside the parliament building. KGB spetsnaz forces from Alpha and Vympel were set to storm the parliament building on August 20th as part of “Operation Grom”, but by that point Yeltsin had already secured the support of both the public and the military. The attack was called off and the coup failed, further accelerating the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The spacecraft Soyuz 31, en-route to the Soviet space station Salyut 6, carried with it two cosmonauts. One of them was Sigmund Jähn, representing East Germany in the Interkosmos program. The first German native in space. After 124 orbits and spending 7 days, 20 hours and 49 minutes in space he returned safely home to Earth. He described his journey with the words "…what I saw then was total happiness: Our Earth, in shining in bright blue. Just like a dream." Gunilla Jonsson tror på abborrodling. I ett industriområde utanför Söderköping har hon tusentals abborrar i olika storlekar och hoppas att vi snart ska ha odlad abborre i fiskdiskarna. Isabella Lövin, Miljöpartiets och fiskens kämpe i EU-parlamentet, berättar vad som hänt under de två år hon jobbat för en annorlunda fiskepolitik. Vi besöker också sushirestaurangen som har skippat jätteräkorna och tonfisken. De använder bara icke-rödlistad fisk och tycker sushibranschen har gått åt helt fel håll. Marinbiologen Inger Näslund på Världsnaturfonden lugnar oss som fortfarande har dåligt torsksamvete - men all torsk får vi inte äta. Och så Mikael Cullberg som varit med om att skriva en bok om rovfisket utanför Afrikas västkust. Det handlar om organiserad internationell brottslighet, säger han.

Läkaren som rekommenderade homeopatiska medel till sina patienter gjorde inte fel. I en uppmärksammad dom som vetenskapsradion rapporterat om i veckan har Högsta förvaltningsdomstolen slagit fast att läkaren inte utsatt patienterna för fara. Nu är frågan hur domen, som ett vägledande prejudikat, ska tolkas. Är det fritt fram nu för läkare och annan sjukvårdspersonal att föreslå homeopatiska medel till sina patienter? Läkaren Anders Pettersson, som efter en lång rättsprocess nu fått rätt i högsta instans, är nöjd med domen, men enligt Socialstyrelsen ändrar domen inte praxis. Högsta Förvaltningsdomstolen anser att det var fel av Hälso- och sjukvårdens ansvarsnämnd, HSAN, att ge Anders Pettersson prövotid, alltså en grövre form av varning, för det här. Socialstyrelsen har i veckan diskuterat hur de ska tolka domen och säger nu att det enda den betyder är att Socialstyrelsen inte lyckats bevisa att homeopatisk behandling kan vara en fara för patienter. – Det domen säger är att Socialstyrelsen måste kunna peka på och styrka patientrisker och det har vi inte lyckats med i det här fallet, säger Ewa Sunneborn som arbetar med tillsyn på Socialstyrelsen På leverantörsföreningen för homeopatiska medel, som levererar homeopatiska medel till omkring tusen kunder per år i Sverige, bl a till hälsokostbutiker är de klart positiva till domen. – Helt övertygad att domen har ha en positiv effekt. Vad jag förstår riskerar inte apotekare sin legitimation. Jag har haft flera apotekar som vari intresserade att det finns apotekare som vill sälja homeopati, säger Sven Backlund ordförande för leverantörsföreningen för homeopatiska medel. I veckan har den största europeiska cancerkonferensen någonsin hållits med 16 000 deltagare från 118 länder och givetvis har det presenterats en stor mängd forskningsresultat. Cancerforskaren Roger Henriksson, som är en av arrangörerna och cancerforskare på Radiumhemmet, tror att konferensen kommer att sätta spår i cancervården. KTH-forskare har under några år tagit fram en metod att odla fisk på land. Riktigt så konstigt som det låter är det inte. Forskarna odlar nämligen abborre i stora tankar i en industrilokal. Det gör de tillsammans med fiskodlaren Gunilla Jonsson i Söderköping.
