Did Stephanie ever have to worry about the incinerator? "Stuff Stephanie in the Incinerator" is a delightful surprise that defies all expectations. As someone who was anticipating the typical over-the-top antics synonymous with Troma releases, I was completely taken aback by the film's unique charm. This movie is not just another exploitative romp; it's a cleverly written, weirdly funny, and remarkably well-directed gem that stands out in the world of low-budget cinema. From the moment the film begins, it's clear that this is not your average Troma fare. The writing is sharp and unexpectedly nuanced, weaving a narrative that is as engaging as it is bizarre. The story, filled with twists and turns, keeps you guessing until the very end. It's a testament to the screenwriter's talent that a plot this offbeat can remain so coherent and entertaining throughout. Humor plays a crucial role in "Stuff Stephanie in the Incinerator," and it's executed with a finesse rarely seen in B-movies. The comedic elements are woven seamlessly into the fabric of the story, providing laughs that feel natural rather than forced. This film strikes a perfect balance between its darkly comedic moments and its more surreal, unsettling scenes, creating an experience that is both amusing and oddly captivating. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the movie is its direction. The film's director, surprisingly, manages to pull off a level of craftsmanship that rivals, and sometimes surpasses, many big-budget productions. The use of camera angles, the pacing, and the overall aesthetic are handled with a sophistication that belies the film's modest budget. Each scene is meticulously crafted, enhancing the narrative and adding depth to the characters in ways that are rarely seen in this genre. "Stuff Stephanie in the Incinerator" is a hidden treasure in the Troma catalog. It's a film that not only entertains but also challenges the conventions of what a low-budget movie can achieve. If you're looking for a movie that is weird, funny, and exceptionally well-made, this is one you won't want to miss. It is a testament to the idea that creativity and talent can shine through, regardless of budget constraints.

On this episode of the How to Protect the Ocean podcast, host Andrew Lewin delves into the issue of plastic recycling and greenwashing. He highlights the prevalence of ocean plastic pollution and the challenges associated with cleaning it up. The episode exposes the deceptive practices of some retailers, like Amazon, in falsely claiming the recyclability of packaging materials. Tune in to learn more about the complexities of recycling and how individuals can take action to protect the ocean. Link to article: https://grist.org/accountability/amazon-says-its-plastic-packaging-can-be-recycled-an-investigation-finds-it-usually-isnt/ Follow a career in conservation: https://www.conservation-careers.com/online-training/ Use the code SUFB to get 33% off courses and the careers program. Despite Amazon's packaging often displaying labels indicating recyclability, studies have revealed that only a small fraction of plastic packaging actually gets recycled. This discrepancy raises concerns about the accuracy and transparency of Amazon's recycling practices. The podcast discusses how consumers often receive packages from Amazon with packaging that states it is recyclable. However, investigations have shown that a significant portion of this packaging does not end up being recycled as intended. Instead, some of the plastic packaging may be sent to landfills, waste stations, incinerators, or even exported to countries with inadequate recycling infrastructure. The episode highlights the efforts of environmental organizations and individuals, such as Jane Dell, who have conducted their own studies to track the fate of Amazon's plastic packaging. These studies have revealed that the store drop-off system, which Amazon promotes for recycling, may not be as effective as claimed. In fact, the podcast mentions that Dell has not traced a single bundle of film labeled for store drop-off to U.S. facilities capable of recycling it into new products. Furthermore, the podcast emphasizes the importance of holding companies like Amazon accountable for their recycling claims. While Amazon has stated that it has no control over how its packaging is handled once disposed of by municipalities or recycling centers, there is a growing call for companies to take responsibility for the end-of-life management of their packaging materials. The episode also discusses potential legislative actions that may push companies like Amazon to improve their recycling practices. For example, in California, a truth in advertising law signed in 2021 may restrict the use of store drop-off labels unless companies can prove the effectiveness of the recycling system. Additionally, there are laws being considered that would require a certain percentage of single-use plastic packaging to be demonstrably recycled by a specific deadline. Overall, the podcast sheds light on the discrepancy between Amazon's recycling claims and the actual recycling rates of its plastic packaging. It underscores the need for greater transparency, accountability, and improvement in recycling practices within the e-commerce industry to address the growing issue of plastic pollution. Legislation and government regulations play a crucial role in holding companies like Amazon accountable for their packaging waste and pushing for more sustainable practices. In the podcast episode, it was highlighted that companies often engage in greenwashing, where they make false claims about the recyclability of their packaging. Despite labels indicating that packaging is recyclable, investigations revealed that a significant portion of Amazon's plastic packaging does not end up being recycled as claimed. To address this issue, government intervention becomes essential. For instance, in California, a truth in advertising law signed in 2021 may soon restrict the use of store drop-off labels unless companies can prove the effectiveness of the recycling system. Additionally, a separate law in California will require single-use plastic packaging to be demonstrably recycled at least 65% of the time by 2032. These regulations set a standard for companies to follow and incentivize them to adopt more sustainable practices. Furthermore, the podcast mentioned that Amazon has taken steps to reduce plastic use in response to regulations in Europe and India banning certain categories of single-use plastic. This demonstrates that companies are more likely to make changes when laws require them to do so. The episode also discussed the importance of companies being accountable for the environmental impact of their packaging waste, emphasizing the need for tracking systems and responsible disposal practices. In conclusion, while individual efforts to reduce plastic waste are important, government regulations are necessary to ensure that companies like Amazon prioritize sustainability and take responsibility for their packaging waste. By implementing and enforcing legislation, governments can drive significant changes in the industry towards more sustainable practices and reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste. Consumers play a crucial role in addressing environmental concerns related to plastic packaging, as highlighted in the podcast episode. The episode discussed how Amazon's plastic packaging, despite being labeled as recyclable, often does not end up being recycled effectively. This raises questions about the accountability of companies like Amazon in managing their plastic waste. As consumers, we have the power to influence change through our purchasing habits. One key takeaway from the episode is the need for consumers to consider their reliance on Amazon and other companies that contribute significantly to plastic pollution. While Amazon offers convenience and a wide range of products, the environmental impact of its packaging practices cannot be ignored. By reducing reliance on Amazon and opting for more sustainable alternatives, consumers can send a strong message to companies about the importance of responsible packaging practices. The episode also highlighted the importance of holding companies accountable for their environmental impact. Amazon's response to regulations in Europe and India banning single-use plastic packaging demonstrates that companies are more likely to take action when faced with legal requirements. This underscores the significance of government regulations in driving sustainable practices within the industry. In light of the challenges associated with Amazon's plastic packaging, consumers may need to reevaluate their purchasing habits. This could involve exploring alternative retailers that prioritize sustainable packaging practices, supporting local businesses that use eco-friendly packaging, or opting for products with minimal packaging. By making conscious choices and advocating for sustainable practices, consumers can contribute to reducing plastic pollution and promoting a healthier environment.

Before Full Moon Entertainment, Charles Band gave us a wealth of cinematic excellence under the banner of "Empire Pictures". We're joined by BRET BERG (American Genre Film Archives) and RYAN GOWLAND (New World Pictures podcast) to determine which titles deserve preservation and which deserve immediate death at the hands of The Incinerator. Oh, and we threw in some new rules. Few series have cemented themselves in the zeitgeist as "Atlanta" did. Its epic run on FX was one of the most celebrated in recent years. So - why not incinerate most of the best episodes just for the hell of it? We're joined by film journalists CHANCELLOR AGARD and DARREN FRANICH (both formerly of EW) to get to the bottom of a series with which both hosts are grossly unfamiliar. It's uncharted territory for The Incinerator! During our mid-season break, we decided to record a special episode, where co-hosts Billy Ray Brewton and Ryan Verrill incinerate FILM PODCASTS. That's right - all your favorite film podcasts tossed into The Incinerator...all except for one. The rules are slightly different for this special episode, but rest assured the chaos will be sufficient. Will The Incinerator make the cut and potentially incinerate itself out of existence? Let's find out together... Fletcher Sharpe joins in - We had to slip in a more serious story into the show, as the smokestack of the incinerator has been a part of our Detroit experience as long as we can remember. Good riddance. Also, there's changes in sports media as the NFL continues to gobble up lots of the oxygen, and the The Athletic makes some layoffs to adjust. Javy Báez need to figure out how to hit a baseball And we see some optimism with the tie in Charleston for Detroit City FC. Now, if we can just activate the offense and get Ben Morris to remember where the back of the net is. We look ahead to Hartford and Memphis. This Day in Maine for Monday, June 5th, 2023.
In this episode we cover how the gray knights were founded. How they hid in the warp for a few years, what they do on a regular basis, the terminus decree, a bit on draigo and how custodes see their little brothers. Detroit officials say they'll use explosives to demolish the shuttered incinerator smoke stack later this month. Plus, Michigan is expanding WIC coverage for qualified participants, and more. Do you have a community story we should tell? Let us know in an email at detroiteveningreport@wdet.org.
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! Episode 2 of MANN-SPLAINING, the second series of CUT AS YOU GO where DARREN FRANICH and I incinerate the oeuvre of MICHAEL MANN, week-by-week, until only one remains. Up next? As voted by you, our Patreon Army - sexy ass Daniel Day-Lewis running around the woods with Wes Studi hot on his trail - it's THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS? How in the hell is this film already meeting The Incinerator? Your guess is as good as ours. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/incinerator-podcast/support
You can thank trash for keeping the lights on in Minneapolis' north loop. An incinerator there called the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center, known colloquially as the HERC, has been burning trash to create steam since the late 1980s. But under a new Minnesota law, the HERC is no longer considered renewable energy, putting its future in flux. MPR News guest host Emily Bright spoke with Sahan Journal's environmental reporter, Andrew Hazzard, who has been following the story.
You're all alone at home...there's a strange noise...shadows moving about...oh, it's just we fools at The Incinerator sending SINGLE LOCATION THRILLERS your way via JAY KRIEGER from the Daily Horror Habit podcast and DEVAUGHN TAYLOR from Specter Cinema Club. And producer of the pod, RYAN VERRILL, serves as engineer proxy. Everyone has their strong opinions on this topic and we promise you none of them will be reflected adequately here. This is just madness. To vote for the winners, visit us at www.incineratorpod.com.
Season 2 of The Incinerator is here, and stepping into the flames for the first time as competitors - from the Screen Drafts podcast, it's CLAY KELLER and RYAN MARKER. In the first shake up to our initial formula, they'll be tackling "Songs from Coen Brothers Films" (a definition which shifts throughout). Producer of the pod, Ryan Verrill, also joins as proxy for The Engineer, who gets their hands on some insane new landmines. It's a weird and wild way to kick off the new season! On this episode of The South Florida Roundup, we looked into the fire that started at the Covanta waste incinerator plant in Doral two weeks ago and the county's trash problem (01:10), the walkout that college students in South Florida staged to protest Gov. DeSantis' plans to block race and diversity programs (20:07), and U.S.'s relationship with Nicaragua in the face of the release of hundreds of prisoners (37:45).

Today I'm gonna need you to trust me, but I promise you're getting a treat and not a trick. I'm closing Halloween with THE FEAR, a movie I'm sure most of you haven't heard of. But it has one of my all-time favorite soundtracks, and the movie is a genuinely good time. As an added bonus, I'll link to where you can watch it (for free) on Tubi as well as the Spotify playlist I made with a majority of the soundtrack below! How cool is that? Oh and if that isn't enough, I'm joined by Oliver Leach, who most of you know as beloved Twitter user and connoisseur of b-movies, @BAKKOOONN. In this episode we talk about how creepy the antagonist Morty is, how the movie gets points for doing something different in the 90s horror landscape even if it doesn't always work, Vince Edwards, 90s horror movies in general, the incredible soundtrack, Esham, Gravediggaz, and a whole lot of extra stuff. So give it a listen, or Morty will get ya'! Now get ready for a WHOLE load of links!Support the show on Patreon! We don't know if we're equipped to episode this much, but here we are. A bomb so fiery, we brought host of The Incinerator podcast host Billy Ray Brewton to help us unpack it all: 2018′s Life Itself. From This Is Us' Dan Fogelman, the film assembles a large ensemble including Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, … Continue reading "207 – Life Itself (with Billy Ray Brewton)"
