With the rapid fall of Afghanistan, veterans in our communities need our care and support now more than ever. So I called up Army Ranger Jesse Gould who supports psychedelic healing for soldiers to talk about his experience and what we can do to help. On the podcast Jesse explains the complex reactions veterans are feeling about the end of operations in Afghanistan. We discuss PTSD and why both the causes and healing of trauma are more complex than many realize. Jesse explains how ayahuasca and other psychedelics help to repattern hyper vigilance and an overactive nervous systems in soldiers returning from war. We discuss his nonprofit, Heroic Hearts, which takes veterans to ayahuasca ceremonies for healing. Finally we discuss how serving communities makes life more like a festival. Jesse holds an important voice for military veterans in the psychedelic community and beyond. A former Army Ranger with three tours of duty in Afghanistan, he is the Founder and President of the Heroic Hearts Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pioneering psychedelic therapies for veterans. Etheric and western medicine are complementary to each other and we both need one another. People will go have something cut out of their body to heal the physical but nobody is paying attention to the fact that it's still in the etheric and so it just duplicates again such as with recurring cancers. We don't understand that there is such a desperate need for healing emotionally so we're being woken up more and more with illnesses and poor mental health. We put so much on the physical body it's really the only way to wake people up." - Bobbi Vogel What Is The Etheric Body? "We have both the physical and etheric bodies. Our soul comes in with our etheric body first and then our physical body is a hologram of it. The etheric body is a light body and it takes in both the good and the bad physical and emotional trauma including what we're taking in from the environment. As an example, an emotional wound will come reverberate into the etheric and then the physical body as an illness but we're not paying attention to what our light, the etheric body needs because most people don't know that we have one; we think that this physical body is it." - Bobbi Vogel The Truth That Spirit Will Reveal "If you think that you know what the problem or the wound already is but it's still there, then that isn't it. That's the beautiful thing about Spirit is they actually know what the core thing is and if we just ask for the answer they will reveal it and it's never what people think it is. It's hard sometimes for people especially if they just want to hear that everything is amazing because the truth will be uncovered on our behalf. However, if you don't really want to know what that is and you kind of want to sidestep it, you can't. That or you can get off the Zoom call, walk out of here, and not do any of the work because that is absolutely your choice but you will get the information. This is real work and the purpose of our wounds is to bring us to faith and learn self-love which will lead us to self-worth." - Bobbi Vogel Links From Today's Show 347 Patrick Haize 275 Paul Chek Coronavirus Wake Up Call - Spirit Teaching Caroline Myss | Gaia 332 John Wineland Coronavirus Wake Up Call - Spirit Teaching How To Breathe In The Light Bobbi Vogel on the difference between faith and belief Leave Wellness Force a review on iTunes breathwork.io M21 Wellness Guide Wellness Force Community Bobbi Vogel Facebook Instagram Twitter YouTube About Bobbi Vogel Bobbi Vogel is a Purpose Guide, Speaker, and a Clairvoyant, Medical Intuitive. She is guided to work in different ways with each person to assist in breaking down, softening and clearing dense, toxic energy. Spirit works through her in a very unique way, it cannot be explained with mere words. This is energy medicine. Bobbi's Work With Etheric Medicine® In Etheric Medicine®, when they (spirit) deem it beneficial for healing, she will share evidential details of the trauma/event which has Imbedded itself in the energy body. The word trauma seems to assume an outwardly devastating event for most people. In this work, trauma describes an event, whether we deem it big or small, conscious or unconscious, physical or emotional which left behind a toxic imprint on our etheric body. How Etheric Medicine® Can Help You Heal Over time, if left unattended, the toxic density builds up in our etheric (energy) body and can create chronic illness and/or chronic pain in our physical body. This is also the cause of persistent emotional pain. Healing returns us to our natural state of light vibration, we are essentially light. When we remember this, we understand that using medications to cure illnesses does absolutely nothing to clear our etheric body, which is the origination of physical/emotional illness and pain. I’m so excited to share it with you this week. In this episode, Dr. Jeff McNairy, the co-founder of Rythmia, and I discuss the science, art, and experiences that come with this medicinal experience. Power Quotes From The Show "The heart's intelligence is actually much more powerful than the mind." - Jay Brown "There comes a time when your soul has learned its lessons and it wants back in. When that happens, you have to be truly willing to lay your life on the line to merge back with your soul." - Gerry Powell "If you don't let your guard down or if you only lay it down a little bit, you're not going to go as deep. Your soul is not going to be able to come fully into the experience with you." - Jay Brown "I'll never be healed. Healing is an endgame. I don't want to be healed because I like being alive." - Gerry Powell "The heart's intelligence is actually much more powerful than the mind. So, when you connect the heart with the mind, you're in an even greater realm of manifestation and creation." - Jay Brown "What does the question, 'Are you happy?' even mean? Ask others, 'Are you content?' To be content means to be healed in this world. Powell was the personification of the American Businessman: Rich, Powerful, and Unhappy. He opted to try anything available to hide from himself and his “perfect” life. Most of his existence he suffered from addiction and depression, incessantly trying to fill the hole deep within, with little or no success. Ultimately, after much trial and error, he found the key to true success and happiness. Today, he serves as a conscious entrepreneur, thought leader, philanthropist and public speaker on a mission to share the modalities and philosophies that transformed his life. And so, Gerry founded the Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Guanacaste, Costa Rica which is a medically licensed life transformation center that is focused on drug and alcohol addiction, general health and wellness and spiritual development. Their team of naturopathic healers, health specialists, and spiritual teachers are all working in tandem to create the most integrative programs in the world. Their goal is to continually provide the best healing practices anywhere for a complete mind, body, and spiritual renewal for each and every person. Their gift is the gift of being able to bring true healing to you, and offer you the setting and tools to do just that. About Jay Brown Jay Brown is a life hacker and professor of play. He began his journey into entrepreneurship back in 2005 with the launch of a music licensing company called Unifik Music. Ultimate forgiveness is really knowing that I'm not going to hold this grudge in me anymore. That goes into letting go, surrendering, and all teachings from the plant medicine. If I can truly forgive, that's me taking this weight off of me because otherwise, I'm carrying that with me until I forgive. If I don't forgive you, I'm holding all of that inside of me. - Kyle Kingsbury Can breathwork, hedonic calendaring, and plant medicine teach you about your actual self, your fears, and your spirituality? When we use plant medicine, do holotropic breathing, or are in a float tank to alter our state of consciousness, we change the dial." - @Kingsbu on @wellnessforce Radio episode 219 http://bit.ly/wfpodcast "Ayahuasca taught me the hard lesson of understanding that I don't need to have an upcoming fight on my schedule to live properly and focus on my health. I realized that I can live this way all the time and it just takes discipline." - Kyle Kingsbury "Everyone is doing the best they can with what they have. Ultimately, that doesn't absolve people of their responsibility but there is forgiveness and compassion there. That's in every spiritual text - to live forgiveness and to truly embody that; to learn compassion and to feel what other people are going through and try to put yourself in their shoes. Try to see where others are coming from and not play the blame game." - Kyle Kingsbury "You don't always have to be right in an argument. If you no longer have to be right, the conversation changes and you can operate from a different place. You can really see eye to eye with the other person or at least attempt that. There's no attempting some level of understanding from the other person if you're dead-set on letting them know that you're right and then blame them. If you can at least operate from a place where you no longer have to be right, there's a whole different layer that you can obtain from that." - Kyle Kingsbury Links From Today's Show Kyle Kingsbury Facebook Twitter Instagram Onnit Facebook Twitter Instagram Pinterest Google+ Onnit Academy Twitter YouTube Instagram Total Human Optimization Podcast How Kyle Kingsbury used ayahuasca to become a happier person and a worse fighter The Bledsoe Show w/ Kyle Kingsbury: Finding Inner Peace #66 #9 The Legendary Paul Chek | Onnit Podcast #12 How To Get Back Up with Kyle Kingsbury | Onnit Podcast Joe Rogan Experience #756 - Kyle Kingsbury Episode 765: Kyle Kingsbury- Fasting for Muscle Gain, the Benefits of Going Barefoot & MORE Benefits of Berberine The Wim Hof Method Braving The Wilderness by Brené Brown Wild Wild Country Trailer The Death of the American Male - Mastermind Panel - Paleo f(x)™ WFR 209 Jamie Wheal WFR 196 Aubrey Marcus WFR 086 Mark Divine About Kyle Kingsbury Kyle Kingsbury is a former football player (Arizona State), a retired American professional mixed martial artist (UFC six years), and currently Director of Human Optimization at Onnit and host of The Onnit Podcast. There’s been a surge in alternative, traditional methods to healing our deepest wounds. One of the main approaches that has gained popularity here in America is the use of the traditional South American brew, Ayahuasca, in guided ceremonies. Dr Gabor Maté, renowned addiction expert, and writer, is back for a second conversation to discuss the benefits & cautions to using Ayahuasca. In this conversation, we also discuss many natural (non-medicinal) methods to healing trauma through the power of present-moment awareness practices, safe relationships and creating space for healing. Here are a few of the highlights: SHOWNOTES Where Western medicine succeeds & fails [11:00] What traditional rituals can teach us about healing [13:00] How Ayahuasca works and why it’s used [16:00] Finding the roots of our trauma [29:00] Dealing with trauma using present-moment awareness [32:00] Why we need to create space in our lives for healing and rest [38:00]
