On today's episode, we've mentioned it plenty of times on the pod, but now we're finally talking about one of my favorite parody films that skewers the teen movie genre, and that's a film called Not Another Teen Movie!! This movie was written by Michael G. Bender, Adam Jay Epstein, Andrew Jacobson, Phil Beauman, and Buddy Johnson and was directed by Joel Gallen. This movie stars Chyler Leigh, Chris Evans, Jamie Pressly, Eric Christian Olsen and Mia Kirshner. We also have appearances from Deon Richmond, Ron Lester, Lacey Chabert and some other fun folks from the teen movie sphere.Joining me for today's episode is author and musician, Tara Giancaspro!! We chop it up about this parody film and about teen movies in general. We go a little all over the place, but this movie kind of just requires that!! You don't want to miss this!!Intro/Outro Music: "Phantom Fun" by Jonathan BoyleShow E-Mail: cultcinemacircle@gmail.comFollow Tara on Substack and InstagramCheck out Sweaty Lamarr on Spotify, Bandcamp, and Apple MusicFollow Cult Cinema Circle on Instagram, Twitter, and Letterboxd Hosted on Acast. It's hard to be familiar and fresh all at the same time....On this very special episode we are going back to school with a new movie that is in theatres (in the US) and on VOD platforms this coming Friday. It's time for 'The Re-Education of Molly Singer'.In college, attorney Molly Singer (Britt Robertson) was the life of every party. Now, she's about to be fired because she can't leave her partying ways behind. Molly's boss, Brenda (Jaime Pressly), tells Molly there's one way to save her job: re-enroll at her old alma mater, befriend Brenda's socially awkward son, Elliot (Ty Simpkins), and take him from zero to campus hero. Aided by her best friend (Nico Santos), Molly goes to battle with stuck-up hall monitors, boozed-up frat brothers, and her old archenemy in a hilarious quest through the past to save her future.Breathing life into a well worn genre is usually easier said then done, but 'The Re-Education of Molly Singer' actually manages to pull that off as it flips the gender rolls for the leads and actually allows for it's characters to have time to make us care about them in-between gonzo comic set pieces in the traditional vein of the college comedy. It gives us something comfortable....but in a new way, and we liked it.In advance of the release we had the unique pleasure of sitting down with director Andy Palmer to find out how he got the job, breathing new life into the college comedy, casting Jonathan Lipnicki (Yup, the kid from Jerry Maguire) and so very much more.'The Re-Education of Molly Singer' is in limited theatrical release (in the US) and VOD platforms everywhere on Sept. 29th.

If we know one thing about Joe – is that he loves his late 90s, early 00s teen comedies – so it makes sense that the FlyBoys tackle embarrassing old movies of now big named celebrities, favorite and least favorite parody movies, and Jusef has a Movie Game to challenge the boys. Closing out the night with Joe’s pick of Not Another Teen Movie starring Chris Evans, Jamie Pressly, and Chyler Leigh. MATURE CONTENT... "Flyover State Of Film Theme"-Composed by Barry J. The wait is over Baddies, we did it, it’s over, we watched the final film, we watched Can’t Hardly Wait (1998), starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Seth Green, Ethan Embry, Jamie Pressly, and a bunch of other actors who didn’t make it out of the 90’s. Alejandro blames his future murders on CTE, and proves Christian has never cheated in his relationship. Christian attempts to create a coherent synopsis, and reveals the ridiculousness of the extras’ names. And the Boys reminisce on early drinking mistakes involving Christian in a fight and Alejandro drinking vodka... weird isn’t it... should be the other way around... Anyways, be safe Baddies, sign petitions, stand up, be heard, and vote.Check out our website at https://www.icbtb.comRate and review us on Apple Podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/it-cant-be-that-bad/id1470379470Or listen to us on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/7FsYf47r7B8fyxgG9elgt9?si=o4k6CKcKS96N6k2t-_WBVw

With the passing of Neil Peart, we wanted to cover a movie that featured the music of RUSH while keeping in the spirit of what the MMB podcast is all about. "I Love You Man" took the box office by storm in 2009 amidst a pretty bleak time where the economy was doing through the great recession. We needed a lift back then and we definitely needed it now with Neil's passing, so we thought this was a timely episode to record. For this episode, we brought in fellow RUSH fan and graphic designer, Brandon Moses. In addition to talking about the movie, we break down our favorite RUSH tunes from a drumming perspective, essentially celebrating Neil's career as a drumming icon. After the discussion of RUSH, Jay and Brandon talk about their alcoholic drinks of choice for the week.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/moviesmusicandbeer)
We make up a plot to DOA: Dead or Alive! (2006 - 33% on Rotten Tomatoes) JFK is not in this movie. Do you ever name stuff? What's the non remix to ignition? Tracy Morgan has a lot of gold. HedgeDog. Octopus beaks. Nature vs. nurture, staring Jamie Pressly and Margo Robbie. Playing allll the hits of Enya. Fitebit™. Rated PG-13 for suggestive boner and slight booby. This movie in slow mo...not good. They're gonna steal her shorts. Oh Muh God.
Miley Cyrus' new love is poetic, Rihanna is giving us visuals and Lamar Odom has an itch he needs to scratch! We're servin' up all the celebrity tea on today's Dish Nation...tune in!

It's a Sailboat. On this episode we speak to n American film and television actor Ethan Suplee best known for his roles as Seth Ryan in American History X, Louie Lastik in Remember the Titans, Frankie in Boy Meets World, Randy Hickey in My Name Is Earl, Toby in The Wolf of Wall Street, Elwood in Without a Paddle, and his roles in Kevin Smith films. The first major role Suplee landed was as Willam in Mallrats, directed by Kevin Smith, alongside future My Name is Earlcostar Jason Lee. He also appeared briefly in the independent Kevin Smith View-Askew produced Drawing Flies. Smith cast both Suplee and Lee again in later films Chasing Amy and Dogma. They both make cameos in Clerks II. At the same time as the filming of Mallrats, Suplee also had a recurring role as Frankie "The Enforcer" Stechino in Boy Meets World, from 1994 to 1998. Suplee's dramatic performances include the roles of the ruthless Nazi skinhead Seth in American History X, a man who rapes a clown in Vulgar, Ashton Kutcher's goth college roommate "Thumper" in The Butterfly Effect, football player Louie Lastik in 1970s Virginia in Remember the Titans (a direct opposite on his racial views from his American History Xrole), Johnny Depp's buddy and initial drug-dealing partner Tuna in Blow, and the simpleminded Pangle in Cold Mountain. Suplee also had a cameo in the HBO TV series Entourage in the fictional movie Queens Boulevard. In 2014, he was cast in the TV Land original sitcom Jennifer Falls, which reunited him with My Name Is Earlco-star, Jamie Pressly. In 2016, he started playing D in Hulu's series Chance. On today's episode, I am coming to you LIVE from the Blue Carpet at the 2018 Paley Festival in Los Angeles. Today's guests are cast members from the hit shows "The Orville" and "Mom". Paley Fest took place at the Dolby Theater, and it was such an honor to be a part of this year's fesitvities. Aside from our carpet interviews, I also had the oppotunity to attend screenings and panels for "The Good Doctor" and "Queen Sugar". Cast members that joined me were: Peter Macon, Mark Jackson, Rico Anderson, and Penny Johnson Jerald from "The Orville", and Jamie Pressly and Beth Hall from "Mom". While I did get a moment with Allison Janney, sadly she had to get to the panel and couldn't do an interview. I talked to the casts about their roles on the show, preparring for their roles, their careers, acting advice and more. A huge thanks to the Paley Center for allowing me to be a part of this years festival. It was such an honor. If you haven't checked out "The Orville" or "Mom", I would highly suggest watching both. Thanks to the casts of both shows for taking the time to talk to me as well. See you next year, Paley Fest! Enjoy the episode.

This week on Alcohollywood, Hausu and Mallrats guest Nick returns to help us endure the fresh, shiny hell that is 2012’s children’s movie flop The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure! “From the marketing genius behind Teletubbies,” as the trailer tells us, The Oogieloves introduces us to a hellish landscape in which three obnoxious, multicolored monsters (Goobie, Zoozie and Toofie) wander through Lovelyloveville to collect balloons from high place and drink junk food. Along the way, they encounter a number of D-list washed-up actors (Cary Elwes, Chazz Palminteri, Christopher Lloyd, Cloris Leachman, Jamie Pressly, Toni Braxton and others), all hiding sneers of embarrassment at the ridiculous things they've gotta do. Guess you have to pay your mortgage somehow! The whole enterprise is a sloppy, silly mess, and not in the way children’s movies are supposed to be - it's just creepy and desperate. Luckily, we’ll be here to help you adventurize with our custom cocktail and drinking rules – check them out!
