The BAMPIRE Interview Bit of a change this episode; Lee and Adam chat with filmmakers Zoe Wassman and Malachite Saaquya about their movie “Bampire”, which they are in the process of crowdfunding. Bampire is a 90s-set horror comedy, introducing a brand new element to vampire lore - vampires who morph into deer! It has a cast including genre stalwart Diane Franklin, “The Room”'s Greg Sestero and the legendary “Lloyd Kaufman”; animation from Josh Stifter; visual effects by the award winning Trysta Kelley; and Taylor Morden in the director's chair. Having completed filming, the guys are now looking to raise the funds required for post production. As you will hear, Zoe and Malakhai's passion and love for this project is infectious, they really want to get this out there, and from what we've seen of the amazing footage they have, so do we!Have a listen, and go to bampiremovie.com which will take you straight to their Indiegogo page, there you'll see a teaser and find out exactly what you can do to help this movie get out there, and pick up some lovely merch too! Ok, this week I have an update on some previous crowdfunding projects I mentioned, including the successful conclusion to Fat Fleshy Fingers on Kickstarter!! This week's project is a GoFundMe from the filmmakers behind Silent Shadow, Yolit Rios (on Instagram @yolitsvisionary) and Gary Jay (on Instagram @garyjayjr): (Silent Shadow short: https://youtu.be/q4iFFk6PT8M). They're raising money for a new western short with a black lead. Link below, and I'm trying to get them on the show. Also covered, briefly, is the trailer for Animosity, the first film from Brendan Steere. He actually won awards for this film at Buffalo Dreams way back in 2013, but it's only now getting released thanks to the smash hit that was The VelociPastor. This week we’re joined by Sarah Stubbs (@geekswhoeat) and filmmaker Josh Stifter (@joshstifter) to talk about Ridley Scott’s followup to the divisive 2012 Prometheus. Pressed by studio and fan reaction that rebelled against the purer sci-fi and philosophical tone of the Alien prequel, Scott delivered a more straightforward Gothic horror movie in line with the tone of his 1979 classic. This still managed to run a lot of people the wrong way, leaving Scott’s plans to continue the story through the beginning of Alien, and the future of the franchise as a whole, up in the air. We talk about the directions Covenant goes in by choosing to ignore the ending of the previous film. The result is a dark, nihilistic vision of humanity. Hey everyone! Since the legendary Joe Bob Briggs was my previous guest I got in the spirit of doing a double feature interview for this episode. With Antonio Pantoja we talk about how it all started with directing videos for Strange Music as well as early film inspirations for this years best independent horror comedy "One Must Fall". When Josh Stifter returns we talk about how we felt about The Good Exorcist, and how Greywood's Plot came to be while he was on Kevin Smith's Tusk which he did incredible animation for! Josh is a really awesome guy and imagine "Frankenstein on cocaine" and that's what you get with his latest film "Greywood's Plot" and the ending of that will haunt you for weeks!

For this week’s interview, I am joined by Josh Stifter - An incredibly talented, multi-faceted filmmaker who recently appeared on Robert Rodriguez’s Rebel Without A Crew Series. Today on the show we have writer/director Alejandro Montoya Marin. He had the pleasure of being selected to be a director on Robert Rodriguez's Rebel without a Crew Television Show. If you've been following me at all over the past three years you'll know how much of a fan I am of Robert Rodriguez (check out How to Make Rodriguez's Guacamole Gun). Here's some info on the show.Armed with a ridiculously low budget and just 14 days to shoot his movie, Robert Rodriguez created El Mariachi an award-winning film that changed independent filmmaking. The 12-part "Rebel Without a Crew: The Series" follows Scarlet Moreno, Alejandro Montoya Marin, Bola Ogun, Josh Stifter, and Bonnie-Kathleen "BK" Ryan as they shoot their own feature-length film in 2 weeks with a budget of only $7,000.I had a ball talking with Alejandro Montoya Marin about filmmaking, working with Robert Rodriguez, his experience being on a reality show and making his film MONDAY for $7000 and in 14 days.Enjoy my conversation with Alejandro Montoya Marin.
