Lloyd Kaufman, the legendary co-founder of Troma Entertainment and the mastermind behind The Toxic Avenger, has spent decades pushing the boundaries of independent filmmaking. In this exclusive interview, we dive deep into his fearless approach to cinema, the DIY spirit of Troma, and his unfiltered thoughts on the future of indie films. For this episode of Let Us Be Idiots, Matteo Pascale, for the introduction segment, first recaps his recent invite to Troma Entertainment's HQ and plugs the blog post that displays all the photos taken during his visit to Troma Entertainment HQ. Lastly, what is worth mentioning within the introductory segment is that Matteo Pascale presents what could be the most meta joke segment or "satire" bit yet by delivering the ripped audio. From a YouTube video entitled, "The Entire Recordings of Dale Gribbles Pirate Radio." Which was from an episode of King of The Hill, which was edited for YouTube as a compilation of all the tirades of Dale Gribble's on his illicit Pirate Radio broadcasts. For the interview segment, Matteo Pascale asks Mike Favor what can be considered the most bizarre question while being as polite as can be. ***Outro Rap lyrics were written and performed by @jdange23 and the beat was produced by Matteo Pascale.***All other content can be found on the website:https://www.crooklyncomedy.com/Crooklyn Comedy and Let Us Be Idiots Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/user?u=66644629Social media links:Main Twitter: https://twitter.com/MatteoPascaleCrooklyn Comedy Twitter: https://twitter.com/CrooklynComedyMain Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/comedianmatteopascale/Crooklyn Comedy Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crooklyncomedy/Let Us Be Idiots Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/letusbeidiots/Matteo Pascale's Website: https://www.crooklyncomedy.com/

Please consider episode 236 to be our late Christmas present to you all! We are looking at two recent films from director Ryan Kruger, starting off with Fried Barry from 2020. This is such a trippy, insane and full-tilt experience that it might leave you scratching your head the first time you watch it. This isn't a bad thing since it only gets better each time you watch it! We follow that up with 2024's Street Trash, which is a sequel to the 1987 film of the same name. Though it has moments where it seems like it's trying to make a point about corporations and society, it's really just a really fun Troma-inspired movie with some great splattery effects, and some genuinely hilarious comedy. We highly recommend BOTH films! Please let us know what you thought of the show, and send us some suggestions for future episodes. You can email us at flickersfrom@yahoo.com or flickersfrom@gmail.com. WIE VIEL TROMA WOLLT IHR? JA!Erleben Sie die abgedrehteste Horror-Komödie des Jahres 2004: "Tales from the Crapper"! Alison Araya's work can be summed up in a single word: bold. Whether she's playing a loving if slightly overzealous Tia on Julie and the Phantoms, a family court judge with a firm hand on Family Law, a fastidious social worker on Riverdale, or a strong-willed woman who ends up in a superhero threesome on Peacemaker, Alison consistently delivers bold performances that reveal a real mastery of craft, a joyous heart, and a keen mind. In this introspective and at times funny conversation, Alison talks about that threesome with Vigilante and Peacemaker, working with James Gunn and John Cena, the impact of watching Troma Entertainment films as a seven-year-old, how intimacy coordinators have changed the business, why playing Tia Victoria on Julie and the Phantoms meant the world to her, and what she really thinks about ghosts and superheroes. A landmark film in the history of queer genre cinema, Killer Condom is a notorious entry in distributor Troma Entertainment's mid-90s revival. We've got a protagonist with a foot-long dong, prophylactics with sharp teeth designed by H.R. Geiger, mad scientists, and the grimy streets of pre-Guiliani New York. In other words, everything! Killer Condom is the rubber that rubs you out.
We couldn't end the podcast without finishing the Toxic Avenger quadrilogy! We're joined by our amateur Troma enthusiast, Kyle from the Experience Grind Podcast, to talk about Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV. It truly is the Citizen Kane of offensive movies.

Happy Monday, Goons! Today's episode of our TromAPRIL theme here on Slashers Podcast features a gem of a Troma film from 1989 - Dead Dudes in the House! Written and directed by James Riffell and distributed by Troma Entertainment, the film follows five trendy jerks who try to fix up a dilapidated mansion only to be picked off one by one by the madwoman and her daughter who live there. You also may know this film from its other title, The House on Tombstone Hill, as it was recently restored and rereleased on DVD and BluRay by Vinegar Syndrome under that very title. The film stars James Griffin, John Dayton Cerna, Sarah Newhouse, Douglas Gibson, Victor Verhaeghe, and Mark Zobian. Today's special cohost is one Jason Hill, who has been a fan of our show since the very beginning and also hosts his own podcast focusing on cult films, Direct to VHS! Another Monday means another amazing episode of Slashers Podcast! Today kicks off our first episode of TromAPRIL!!! That's right, goons, your favorite podcast and your favorite hosts are talking Troma Films all month long. Today we get into Doug's all time favorite film, The Toxic Avenger (1984)! Find out why this film means so much to him, how it's inspired him, and how Jake and Ade literally just discovered that Doug's first short film has a cameo with none other than the Troma man himself, Lloyd Kaufman! Like, what the butt fucking hell, how did none of us know this? The short is titled “Resident Emo” and is apart of an anthology called Treasure Chest of Horrors–which you can find and stream on Tubi. For free. Show Doug's debut film, he made at 16, some love! We all know that Toxie is the Mickey Mouse of Troma, as he rightfully should be. But did you know that Troma Entertainment and Legendary Pictures are set to do a remake, starring Peter Dinklage as Toxie, as well as Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay and Kevin Bacon??? We're still unsure as to when this will be released, but we're super fucking excited for it. Finally, at some point, Doug, Jake and Ade realize that without The Toxic Avenger, the three of us may not have come together. Listen in and find out why! Please reach out to us for any and all comments at slasherspod@gmail.com. On this week's episode, Sonny is very pleased—and a little star struck!—to be joined by Lloyd Kaufman, the mind behind Troma Entertainment, to discuss his latest film, #ShakespearesShitstorm, as well as his 50 years in the business as one of the few truly independent indie filmmakers. Kaufman is probably best known for directing The Toxic Avenger, its sequels, and Tromeo and Juliet, as well as producing Class of Nuke 'Em High. But his company, Troma, has been a hot spring of talent for decades, serving as early homes for James Gunn (The Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad), Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park), and Eli Roth (Hostel, Knock Knock). Warning: This episode contains slightly saltier language than usual, but what else would you expect from a mind whose greatest film prominently involves gym rats running over a kid on a bike for fun?
