Every March, my parents would take my brother and I to the tournament, and it was one of the most exciting times of the year. It was an opportunity to see the best players in the world, up close and in-person, learning and studying the best. I wanted to be like them. I wanted to be as good as them. Die Ankündigung kam kurzfristig und es war das Publikum in Buenos Aires, das verhinderte, dass der Abschied zu leise stattfand. Während del Potro sein letztes Karriere-Match verlor, hat Felix Auger-Aliassime einen Meilenstein erreicht. Denn der Kanadier konnte in Rotterdam seinen ersten Titel gewinnen. Er setzte sich im Finale klar gegen Stefanos Tsitsipas durch. In den vorherigen Runden hatte er unter anderem schon gegen Andy Murray und Andrey Rublev gewonnen. Bei Turnier in Buenos Aires standen am Ende zwei Spieler im Finale, die sich in den letzten Jahren durch ihre Sandplatz-Resultate hervorgetan haben, Casper Ruud und Diego Schwartzmann. Das Finale in Dallas bestritten Jenson Brooksby und Reilly Opelka, die beide besonders gut mit den schnellen Bedingungen klarkamen. Dabei stach der Halbfinalsieg von Opela gegen John Isner hervor. Er konnte sich im Tiebreak des zweiten Satzes mit 24:22 durchsetzen. Das Damen-Turnier in St-Petersburg konnte Annet Kontaveit für sich entscheiden. Die Estin baute damit ihre Siegesserie in der Halle auf 20 Matches in Folge aus. Dabei holte sie im dritten Satz des Finales einen 2:5 Rückstand gegen Maria Sakkari aus. Die Griechin bleibt also weiterhin bei einem Karrieretitel auf der WTA Tour. Bei den News schauen Andreas und Philipp unter anderem auf die Ankündigung von Roger Federer, in diesem Jahr den Laver Cup zu spielen. Dabei wird er an der Seite von Rafael Nadal antreten. Das Comeback von Dominic Thiem verzögert sich noch etwas. Er wird erst zum Turnier in Indian Wells zurückkehren und nicht wie anvisiert jetzt schon auf dem Sand von Südamerika.
