Welcome back to regularly scheduled podcasting! The tours have gone to South America, Transylvania, the Netherlands, Texas, and the UAE -- regional tours ftw, btw -- over the past two weeks. Karolina Muchova finally gets a big title, Mboko notches an incredible run to the Doha final, Zheng announces herself, Felix becomes king of Canada, and most importantly we're back from Mexico, caught up on sleep and armed with fresh takes. We decide to finally dip our toes in the apparently imminent Serena comeback, whatever it shall be, and how it interacts with her endorsement of GLP-1 drugs (and her family's vested interest). We've also got random takes on Bad Bunny, Brad, Puerto Vallarta, and Destanee Aiava's eye-opening retirement announcement. 0:30 Catching up with us 12:00 Shelton Does Dallas; Canada's Indoor King; the ATP's hottest final 17:05 Muchova finally gets that elusive second title.

We were live after close of play on a busy day 4 at the Championships. In part 1 we discuss Draper's shock loss to former finalist here Marin Cilic. What does this mean for both of them? How can Draper still improve both on grass and at Wimbledon? And Can Cilic go even further? We also cover Novak Djokovic and Jannik cruising through, as well as an intriguing epic between August Holmgren and Tomas Machac which was notable not only for four tie-break sets out of five, but also some unexpected clothing-rule-related-drama. In part 2 (43m05s) we wrapped up the women's results. Mirra Andreeva held firm despite being tested by Lucia Bronzetti, and defending champion Krejcikova slipped past Dolehide to set up a match with Emma Navarro. Swiatek too made it through; we discuss how her confidence is holding up as she progresses through the draw. And another former champion, Elena Rybakina, is looking strong, swatting away Sakkari with the kind of skills we wish we could employ to dispatch the insects currently plaguing our podcast bench! In part 3 (57m49s) we run through tomorrow's order of play, consider how Alcaraz might fare against Struff, preview Sabalenka-Raducanu, and come to the conclusion that tomorrow, Court 2 is where it's at in terms of excitement, as Fonseca takes on Jarry and Keys plays Siegemund.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! This was one of those rare finals weekends where pretty much everything we hoped for came true. A perennial fave of fans and her own coworkers, the one-time prodigy Madison Keys showed remarkable maturity and grit to win her first major title. She let go of the “need” to win a Slam, and then managed to defeat #2 Iga Swiatek and the 2-time defending champ #1 Aryna Sabalenka back-to-back. Jannik Sinner defended his title without facing a break point in the final. Tennis keeps trying to make his opponent happen, alas to no avail. Plus, we got cracker women's doubles matchups, Novak HIPAA-violating himself, and Sakkari attending the inauguration instead of winning tennis matches. 1:25 GoFundMe update: Thank you!!! 6:05 Once a tween prodigy, then a best-never-to-win, now a Slam winner 12:05 Madison said therapy works … can't argue with that 27:50 After a diversion, a few more notes on the women's draw 33:40 The ceaseless pushing, literal and figurative 38:00 “Australia believes Olya and Brenda” 46:45 Ben Shelton v. the media 53:05 Women's doubles: SMASH on the girls 62:25 Call me OptaAce because I've got stats

Ben and Ricky Dimon debrief on what very much looked like Rafael Nadal's last match at the French Open, in which the 14-time champion played decently but was clearly overmatched by fourth-ranked Alexander Zverev. We discuss the match, and hear from Rafa himself on what his future might hold. If not answers, there was some clarity in his remarks that helps light a clearer path for his future. We also discuss what was most impressive in Nadal's era of dominance, the newfound parity seemingly hitting men's tennis, and a couple other early results from Sinner to Sakkari.

Alexandra says no more one-handed players in men's top 10 with the new rankings. Sakkari and Pegula let go of their coaches. Sakkari had Tom Hill for six years. Pegula had David Witt for five years. With the WTA Finals having reached the last four stage, David and Matt come together to wrap up the Round Robin action which saw some surprising results (Maria Sakkari finding her best form) and some unsurprising ones (Iga Swiatek serving up bagels). There's chat about Sakkari playing with freedom again, Swiatek dominating everyone, a gripping and dramatic match between Caroline Garcia and Daria Kasatkina with semi-final qualification on the line, and the fact that Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff combined for a 0-9 win-loss record across singles and doubles. Did they just hit the wall? How will this week affect USA in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals next week? And do Pegula and Gauff need to reconsider the amount of doubles they play next year? We also preview the semi-finals and discuss the tricky situation which the WTA finds itself in regarding a host venue for this event after a week of disappointing crowds in Fort Worth.
