Williams met an Austrian family who offered to teach German and coach their daughter. He studied under Ivan Lendl coach Yan Swoboda and learned the Czech method of tech technique. Williams started a group traveling to the United States during the summer and introduced himself to Nick Bollettieri at the 88 Open. He emphasized the importance of a support system for players, including foot care, laundry, and mental recovery. They discuss the challenges of parents wanting to be there with their kids and their parents coaches, and share their experience of coaching their son and daughter to college, balancing their roles as parents and coaches. Scott discusses his journey as a tennis coach and a parent, focusing on motor skills and introducing children to other sports. Scott emphasizes the importance of a parent's journey from the get-go, focusing on their children's development and interests. He suggests the student athlete pathway as a viable option for tennis players to go on to college, allowing them to pursue their passions while still living as a professional player as the cost to go pro without the educational route is now up to about $175,000 per year between coaching and travelling. They also discuss scouting before their children enter college, investing time and resources in their children's education, and maintaining healthy relationships with their children. He talks about the importance of adapting and adjusting to different coaching styles for different children, understanding and adapting to their unique needs and preferences and starting from the beginning, focusing on the student's development, playing tournaments, and setting a professional objective. They also discuss the dangers of setting an ultimate goal, potential injuries, and burnout, which can occur in sports, and suggest addressing burnout by focusing on specific activities or the child's passion for the sport. What drove one of the most consistent careers in tennis history? Hall of Famer Ivan Lendl credits his success to consistently showing up, believing in himself and putting in the work. In Episode 3's conversation with Chris Bowers, Ivan opens up about how absorbing experiences on court – such as being a ball kid for his Czechoslovakian countryman Jan Kodeš – led to mastering the intricacies of the sport. Despite the slew of major titles to his name, Ivan considers his learning experiences and versatility to be his greatest achievements. With a lifetime of experience in automobile restoration under his belt, master car restorer Wayne Carini has a resume that includes body and paint work on rare car collections owned by the likes of David Letterman, tennis great Ivan Lendl and the DuPont family. He's been featured in the New York Times as well as numerous automobile magazines, and starred in two one-hour television specials. Now, Chasing Classic Cars gives viewers a true insider's look into Wayne's inner circle as he embarks on his personal mission to uncover the world's most rare and exotic cars. Filmed entirely in high definition, Chasing Classic Cars welcomes you into the elite club of car restorers and collectors as Wayne buys, restores and sells vintage rides, and the owners of the most exclusive and secret garages open up their doors only to Wayne. Wayne's passion for cars started when he was a child, working alongside his father on such classics as Duesenbergs, Lincolns, Packards and Ford Model As. Then, at just 9 years of age, he experienced a life altering event: he went for a ride in his first Ferrari, a 1960 Rosso Chiaro 250 SWB to be exact. Wayne has been the owner and operator of three companies in Portland, Conn.: F40 Motorsports , Continental Auto Ltd. and Carini Carozzeria. F40 Motorsports buys and sells vintage and classic automobiles. Continental Auto Ltd. is a collision shop specializing in high-end and exotic automobile repair. Carini Carozzeria is the restoration shop where Wayne spends most of his time. And while Wayne loves restoring cars to perfection, his personal preference is for unrestored, original cars. Often shown in the elite "preservation class" at concourses nationwide, these increasingly rare cars are the focus of Wayne's private collection.

Stratton Mountain may not be Vermont's oldest ski area, but its history is iconic. Tucked away at the resort is a collection of Stratton Mountain signs, photos, and posters that tell the story of this Southern Vermont ski area that opened in 1961. Over the past 54 years, Kimet Hand has collected everything from a bronzed tennis ball served by Ivan Lendl at Stratton's Volvo International Tennis Tournament to signs made by ski school director Henrich, who was also an artist and a musician who played in the Stratton Mountain Boys. In this episode, Erica Houskeeper interviews Stratton volunteer archivist Kimet Hand, Stratton sign maker Mike Smith, and his colleague, Lauren Suriani.  Read the story here: HappyVermont.com
