Taurus season is coming up! Taurus game recognizes Taurus game. Maya is finally going to turn that spare room into a dressing room. The only thing standing in the way is a dumb treadmill. Amy is championing this inside “she shed”. Amy wants to take Producer Tyler on a shopping spree. The ladies recap Morgan Wallen's SNL history and recent beef. Morgan…you're a problematic king. But also, do better. Maya is concerned. KQRS, the local “oldies classic rock” station, has changed its format to 90s rock, which are actually “oldies” now. Amy reviews the restaurant Yard House. They have a screen problem. She hates it, but will she go back? Of course. Maya sends a strongly worded satisfaction survey to the infamous Gas Light Inn. Amy practices some private investigation, and Maya thinks there is a fine line between research and stalking. Animal Report: A cautionary tail…Sea lions lose their minds. Amy reviews Will Smith's new album. Spoiler Alert: She confesses that she thinks “it's kinda good", also she's “so embarrassed”. Apparently, it's approved?!?!? Amy reviews Anora and The Brutalist. Amy thinks it's appropriately named. Approved/Denied: American Airlines has a new policy. Don't eff with the gate agents.
This episode begins with conversation with friend and former fellow KQRS cast member as I inform Bob about NIL and all the news and mis-information surroundings the topic. After I talked to Bob, I moved on to today topic the on coming power flex from Tony Petitti of the B1G and Greg Stanky of the SEC. They want to control of the CFP, how many teams from what conference get in. They already will get 59% of the revenue from the CFP games to split between them. Petitti and Stanky want control of governance over all NCAA championships. Including the basketball tournament. Some other commissioners are starting to grumble and openly and say go ahead, we're calling your bluff. Go and take your ball and suffer the consequence's. Some believe that if Petitti and Stanky did move their conferences out the CFP and NCAA, they will destroy college sports as we know it and they will become the 2 largest sports villains in sports history. Lastly, Breaking news involving Ohio State and conference rival Penn State. This week on #BourbonTurntable we wrap up our conversation with Steve Gorman about The Rolling Stones "Some Girls" album on the 45th anniversary of its release. Drew called listening to Steve "a master class on this album". He ain't wrong. The conversation with Steve resumes around the 12-minute mark. Drew and I talk a bit about the new Foo Fighters album at the start of the show. Please be sure to follow Steve and his new gig at KQRS and his new band, Bag Men. They have a show coming up this Saturday (6/17) at Leinenkugel's in Chippewa Falls, WI. Make it out if you're in the area.
On June 9, The Rolling Stones classic album "Some Girls" will turn 45. To celebrate this album we recruited Steve Gorman (drummer and founding member of The Black Crowes, best-selling author, radio host, all-around great guy, etc.) to talk with us about it.Before we get into "Some Girls" we drink some whiskey. Well...some of us do. We have Keeper's Heart out of Steve's new town, Minneapolis, and Johnny Drum, because Steve plays the drums. And even before that, we check in with Steve and get caught up on his new gig hosting a morning show for KQRS in Minneapolis plus some info and video clip on his new band, Bag Men.If you saw our shows with Steve last year, you'll remember how much music knowledge he has in his brain and how fun he is as a guest. These conversations are every bit as good as the last time. We know you'll love this episode. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss out on part two next week or any of our other shows that we have planned for you.

The final "turkey" for the season is an album that Kingcow doesn't know where it came from nor had he ever listened to. This 1982 release, from radio station KQRS 92 in Minneapolis, MN, is a compilation of various local bands. Kingcow and Heather both listened to it not knowing what to expect. It turns out that some tracks were alright and overall it wasn't awful. Give it a listen and see what you think.

In this #PoisedforExit episode we featured a long time journalist and radio personality, turned Podcast Producer, Bob Sansevere. Bob has had quite the career over the years, spanning several different US publications and landing at KQRS in Minneapolis back in 1987. As a big part of the KQ Morning Show for 30 years, Bob grew quite an audience of fans. Now as a podcaster and producer, he's taken his expertise and expanded it for the benefit of Hosts like me.When Bob was released from KQRS along with several others after COVID hit, he had to reinvent himself. He likens it to having an "Entrance Strategy" vs an Exit Strategy. He said when you find yourself being forced into an Exit (which many owners do) find your next thing and "don't wallow". In other words, move on and keep your mindset positive. Becoming an entrepreneur has been an ideal way for him to utilize his talent and over the past 6 years, he's expanded his audience into several other markets. Listen here to learn about Bob's story and how he's grown his production company and the BS Show into a wide spread, popular show with radio stations airing it all over MN.
