Arsenal secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals before this match. But a comfortable 2-2 draw against PSV Eindhoven was not so bad! This key was to rest key players. As for the rotational influence, talk about a perfect start! Zinchenko's early stunner set the tone, and despite PSV's efforts to salvage some pride, Arsenal always looked in control. The atmosphere was relaxed yet appreciative, with fans savoring our return to the latter stages of the competition.Speaking of performances, Sterling can be proud, notching two assists. Declan Rice continued his goal-scoring form, while Zinchenko excelled in an advanced role. Listen in for my take on the third standout player. This result sets us up nicely for a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with Real Madrid. There's a lot to unpack from this game. Tune in for more. Now we have a  challenge in our hands. Let's leave the hype for others. This is Arsenal! On to the next round. Come on you Gunners!

Arsenal surprised us all with a historic masterclass, thrashing PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the Champions League round of 16, marking their largest-ever away win in European competition. The Gunners' blistering attack and tactical precision left the Philips Stadion stunned, securing a commanding advantage ahead of the second leg.   PSV briefly threatened to gain some ground after a converted penalty. But Arsenal's response was ferocious. Ethan Nwaneri joined the blitz-party with a thunderous strike, following the lead from Timber's header. Mikel Merino, capped the first-half rout by pouncing on a defensive error to slot his home.  Second half  Arsenal shifted gears,  Ødegaard netting a brace—including a 25-yard rocket—and Leandro Trossard tapping in a rebound.  Calafiori added the seventh, while PSV's Ivan Perisic rattled the woodwork in a rare moment of defiance. Myles Lewis-Skelly's aggressive tackle earned a yellow, a reminder of the fine line between intensity and recklessness. I'm sure you have a number of players that fit your top 3 performers - as a collective, a number of picks would fit. While Arsenal's attack dazzled, defensive lapses—like Partey's penalty concession—highlights head scratchers. Yet, seven goals,  teenagers involved, and a record-breaking night? That's vintage Arsenal.  Tune in for to this byte-size breakdown. Share this episode  and join the debate. Let's enjoy this win thoroughly! The Emirates awaits the second leg. This is the Arsenal. On to the next.

It turned out to be a very important week for Thiago Motta and Juventus, capped with Sunday night's win over Inter in the Derby d'Italia at the Allianz Stadium. On Episode 272 of The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, we discuss: Takeaways from the Juventus week that was. That week came to a thrilling conclusion with Sunday night's Derby d'Italia win over Inter Milan in Turin. It was quite the exciting victory! It was also a win in which Juventus didn't play well in the first half yet came out a totally different team out of halftime. That allowed them to take advantage of Inter being off their game, and recording a much-needed win over the reigning Serie A champions. That Randal Kolo Muani assist sure was pretty, wasn't it? On the European stage. Juve have a very big trip to the Netherlands on Wednesday night, where they will look hold onto their aggregate lead and advance to the Champions League Round of 16 in the second leg of their play-off tie against PSV Eindhoven. Social media questions — including the chances of Juventus signing Randal Kolo Muani and Renato Veiga on a more permanent basis over the summer and, in light of one of the crew member's previous tweets about his favorite American football team, what some of our coldest takes about Juventus are.

It's a tale as old as time. Paris Saint-Germain outplays an opponent and creates plenty of scoring chances but falls asleep for a split second and ultimately settles for less than it deserves. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to break down the frustrating 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven at the Parc des Princes. We discuss the scoring woes and Luis Enrique's lineup decisions, and we look ahead to Sunday's important clash against Olympique de Marseille. We begin with the result against PSV. PSG recorded 26 total shots and an xG of 2.43 yet only managed a single goal from Achraf Hakimi in the second half to rescue a point. We question the decision to play Kang-In Lee as a false nine and whether a lack of skill or concentration is to blame for the lack of goals. One big moment in the match occurred in the second half when Marco Asensio appeared to be tackled from behind while going for a cross from Hakimi. Initially, the referee, Glenn Nyberg, awarded PSG the penalty. But, after VAR got involved, Nyberg changed his decision, and the match ended 1-1. We debate whether that was the right decision or if, once again, PSG was on the receiving end of a poor decision. With the draw, PSG is on the edge of the UEFA Champions League table and could not qualify for the knockout stage, with fixtures against Atletico Madrid and FC Bayern Munich on the horizon. We share our concerns for PSG at the moment and whether they can turn things around in the tournament. The show concludes with a preview of PSG's match on Sunday against Marseille. Will we see a PSG squad with a Champions League hangover, or will Luis Enrique have his team ready for what will be a hostile atmosphere? As always, thank you for listening. Hello Rank Squad! You heard the music, and we're back in Champions League mode as the newest era of the competition gets underway with the new Swiss League stage replacing the old group stages. The first day brought us plenty of goals, and plenty of talking points, and Jack and Dean are here to discuss all of them with you after the first six games of this matchweek. We start with Liverpool's trip to Milan, where Arne Slot's Reds were able to put the ghosts of Nottingham Forest behind them on the way to what was a comprehensive and important win at San Siro; before moving onwards to discuss the 9-2 hammering that Bayern Munich handed out to Dinamo Zagreb,  and the game between Sporting CP and Lille OSC in Lisbon. In Part Two, we start with Real Madrid's 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart, which was very much not as easy on the Bernabeu pitch as it looked on paper, before discussing Aston Villa's successful trip to Bern, where they beat Young Boys 3-0 despite an artificial surface, and Juventus' crucial 3-1 win over PSV Eindhoven, which might have been the best performance of the season yet from Thiago Motta's new-look Bianconeri! We'll be back on Thursday to wrap up the action from the next two days of UCL action, so we'll see you very soon. It's Ranks!  And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
