Legendary TV personality Don Cornelius was born in Chicago on Sept. 27, 1936. Before becoming the iconic host of "Soul Train," Cornelius began his career as a substitute DJ and on-air personality at a radio station. He later transitioned to television, working as a sports anchor and host of "A Black's View of the News" on WCIU, where he pitched the concept of a music show dedicated to African-American artists. Using $400 of his own money, Cornelius created the pilot for "Soul Train," inspired by Dick Clark's "American Bandstand." The show premiered on Aug. 17, 1970, and became nationally syndicated the following year. Cornelius passed away in 2012 at the age of 75. Learn more about your ad choices. Adam Turteltaub grew up in one of those crazy Beverly Hills families where he was surrounded by some of the most famous people in the world, including Mel Brooks, Anne Bancroft and Redd Foxx. His father, Saul Turteltaub, was an iconic TV writer and producer who wrote for Sanford & Son, produced What's Happening? and participated in a host of other memorable '70's and '80's sitcoms. As an adult, Adam happily stayed out of the entertainment industry but he has an endless trove of stories from his childhood where "Bring Your Kid to Work" day meant hanging out on the sets of the top-rated television shows of the time.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/90who10/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
This week was an extra special interview as I interview TV writer, Stan Zimmerman, a man who has written for some of the biggest shows of the last 40 years. He wrote for shows like Gilmore Girls and Roseanne, both shows with a huge cult following. My personal favorite and ultimate "cult following" show The Golden Girls a show he was a writer for in the legendary first season of the show. We talk about Stan's upbringing and his love for TV at a young age (funny story there!), working with some of TV's biggest leading ladies (AKA Bea Arthur and BETTY FREAKING WHITE), and his current work with some really impactful plays. This interview was truly amazing and I am excited for you to hear it!_____________________________________Stan's Website: https://www.zimmermanstan.com/Pick Up Stan's Book Here: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-girls-stan-zimmerman/1144024910_____________________________________Link to all things Not in a Huff Podcast: https://linktr.ee/notinahuffpodcastPlease follow/subscribe to the podcast to be the first to see new episodes when they come out each week. We all have our heroes. Two of mine are Doug Momary and Emmy Joe, the stars and pioneers of the hit children's television series The New Zoo Revue. Hear the genesis of the series, the bean bag frog named Freddie, the support of Mattel, the supporting cast, the birth of children, the journey of 196 shows supported by over 600 original songs. Doug and Emmy Joe are so gracious, so kind, so loving. Their focus on kindness and relationships back to 1970, had stickiness. The series was syndicated into the 1990's and has now gained renewed interests with the next generation. Enjoy this magical conversation with two beautiful people that had a simple, profound idea that has enduring positive impact to this day.

It's always on my mind no matter what I'm doing I can't get it out of my head. As I was growing up, I would always watch hunting shows and think that's what I'm going to do for a living someday because that's what I always wanted to do so I set out after that dream as soon as I could. When I got into middle school my brother and I got the video camera we have been wanting for filming our hunts for our Christmas gift and man was I excited! My brother and I started filming each other's hunts the best we could and after getting a few kills on film we decided to take some filming and editing classes through Become1 called Film The Hunt a tv show on the sportsman channel. After taking those we got all new equipment and started getting really serious into it. We ended up being on and filming for a tv show called The Bearded Buck which is on the sportsman channel as well. I also filmed for a hand full of other shows as well thanks to my good buddy Chris "Boomer" Davidson getting me in contact with them. I have learned a ton from Chris and have hunted with him and filmed him for his show on the sportsman channel called Wild Memories. After a few years of doing that and filming for numerous other tv shows which I still do now I decided I wanted to go after my real goal of having my own show someday so here we are now. Legendary Tv! A name that came to me one day after harvesting a whitetail buck in Ohio and thinking to myself what a legendary hunt and animal it was. A 'mass trespass' through a restricted estate used for pheasant shooting in South Devon today has kicked off a nationwide series of protests for a greater right to roam. Right to Roam, a campaign group that wants to see more private land made accessible to walkers, has picnicked and paraded through the Duke of Somerset's South Hams estate today in what marks the beginning of a month-long nationwide campaign. With her hair tied into a bun, the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy walked across the courtroom and passed within inches of her rival Coleen, who glanced in her direction for the first time all day. She then took to the stand and swore on the bible before being quizzed by Coleen's barrister David Sherborne. The WAGs have been at war since October 2019 after Coleen accused her fellow footballer's wife of leaking 'false stories' about her private life, before claiming she had uncovered the culprit after carrying out a social media 'sting operation'.

As one of the funniest voices of his generation, Bob Saget would find new, creative, and often vulgar ways to express his own frustrations with life. And yet, let's be honest, many of us will remember him in a totally different light as that “TV Dad” we all wish we had growing up. His portrayal of Danny Tanner was everything a father was supposed to be; loving, considerate, funny, and accepting – he touched everyone who ever watched it and that's probably why, here at the hour of his death, many of us are finding his passing so difficult. It's with a heavy heart that I tell you, this past weekend, Bob Saget was found dead in his hotel room. He was only 65-years-old. Personally, I couldn't think of a better way to honor the man, so let's take a look back at Bob Saget's life and career.
