Welcome to a new episode of Tape Study by Marie Shadows! Hello everyone! Hope all is well! The concept of Tape Study Series is to be observant with pro wrestling and breakdown matches so wrestling fans can have a deeper appreciation for the art and wrestlers can learn from the masterclass of the review and live reaction. Tape Study Series does not invoke any kind of toxicity or negativity. Tape Study won't dive into a simple: this sucks - and leave it as such and like we've seen so many times on the internet. Tape Study is about breakdown characters, stories, angles, and more.I'm passionate about wrestling. AJ Style vs Naomichi Marufuji This is a dream match done correctly and had the right amount of buzz surrounding a bucket list of a match in our lifetime. WWE always had a small hand in the Japanese wrestling market with their few shows in Japan some years ago. But currently, WWE has inked a media rights deal to showcase and broadcast WWE programming in Japan on their media rights deal to showcase WWE programming in Japan on the Abema network. Now we are seeing the rise of other Japanese promotions wanting to work with WWE. Pro Wrestling Noah is one of the few. AJ Styles vs Naomichi Marufuji is the match we did not know we needed. It was a game of chess between the two. Very well-seasoned veterans with legendary careers fought like warriors with counters and power moves to see who the best was/is. It seemed like Marufuji studied AJ Styles just based off of the counters you see during the match. AJ Styles gave us a phenomenal match. It felt like NJPW AJ appeared. The ending is a surprise — to me at least. I won't spoil it, but I would love to hear your comments!I hope you enjoyed the breakdown video! Leave me a message! What was your favorite part of the match? Was this your dream match? How many ‘stars' do you feel AJ vs Marufuji deserves? How was my breakdown? If you're a lurker of the newsletter, you can send me a direct message anytime! Links: https://campsite.bio/marieshadows

Episode 266 of No One's Ready For Wrestling discusses Clash At The Castle and a new champion being crowned. CM Punk screws Drew McIntyre for the 2nd time in the main event of the PPV. My thoughts on NXT Battleground. Kevin Kelly suing AEW? Konosuke Takeshita to wrestle in NJPW G1 Climax. Seth Rollins makes a surprise return to WWE and Damian Priest offers a World Heavyweight Championship match against him and why I don't have an issue with it. Where this angle is literally leading to which is fairly obvious. Is WWE planning a split for The New Day?

This episode is all about the N-1 Victory, baby! We watch Kawada vs Marufuji (13th April 2010) and Kiyomiya vs Mochizuki (18th September 2020), talk a bit about everyone's history as well as our general thoughts and feelings about the tournament, gush over junior drama, and relegate conversation about another company into it's own brand new perfectly delineated segment. It's seamless and flawless, a perfect podcast episode. Thanks for bearing with us with the late episode! Niklas got sick and then AJ got lazy but we got it done! Next episode should feature an exciting guest as we talk even more about the junior division, so get hype for that! twitter: @2x2cast email: 2x2cast@gmail.com
For some of you, this may be a bit on the obscure side, but if you aren’t that familiar, get familiar! Both successful singles wrestlers, but as a team, no one was better in 2003-04. Listen to me and Cheech gush about a team we both watched a ton of when we were coming up in wrestling.

In addition to all the other exciting wrestling that went down this week, Graham "GSM" Matthews opens WrestleRant Radio with his full review of IMPACT's Bound for Glory pay-per-view on Sunday! He talks NXT's newest acquisition Shotzi Blackheart facing Madison Rayne, the Call Your Shot Battle Royal and why signing Kylie Rae should be a top priority for IMPACT, their strong Knockouts division, Rob Van Dam's random heel turn, Michael Elgin vs. Marufuji, the insane X-Division Ladder match, why Ken Shamrock deserves credit for his performance versus Moose, and how Sami Callihan could still become Impact World Champion next Tuesday on IMPACT! Wrestling. GSM then gives his full preview and predictions for WWE Crown Jewel on Halloween and discusses which matches matter and which ones don't before getting into his review of Raw from Monday night! He has plenty to say about Drew McIntyre's return and how he can be a breakout babyface on the red brand, how the ongoing angle with Bobby Lashley, Lana and Rusev continues to be terrible, Cain Velasquez's less-than-impressive attack on Shelton Benjamin, Humberto Carrillo pushing Seth Rollins to his limit, The Street Profits shining in their in-ring debut and how can they be huge on the main roster if handled properly. Finally, GSM breaks down Wednesday's episodes of NXT and AEW Dynamite featuring Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair, Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai becoming the number one contenders to the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, a tremendous Triple Threat match for the NXT North American Championship, Finn Balor's shocking heel turn, The Lucha Brothers and SoCal Uncensored advancing to the finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament, where Diamond Dallas Page's appearances could be headed, Britt Baker's homecoming in Pittsburgh, Jon Moxley vs. Pac, and more!
NOAH have rebranded, and so I have good reason to (finally) review their Great Voyage in Yokohama show and briefly cover their 2/24, 3/17, & 3/29 shows. Kiyomiya’s run on top continues, so I also offer my thoughts on where that storyline could go from here. My ideas summarised: “NOAH the Looking Promising”“Kiyomiya continues to tell what is currently the most compelling story in puroresu”“Marufuji being Marufuji instead of quarter-effort-fuji”“Shiozaki deserves the world, and, by consequence, the GHC Heavyweight title”“These GHC tag titles must choose between the reformation pill and the remain-trash pill”“Ohara deserves the world, and, by consequence, the GHC Junior Heavyweight title” * Follow me on Twitter: @puregradepuro * Official Podcast: Youtube – Apple Podcasts – Podbean

I review yet another NOAH Korakuen show to judge if Kiyomiya is really struggling as the GHC Champion or whether there’s actually a very cool story being told with him. I likewise speculate on where 2019 will take Kiyomiya and how the likes of Kenou, Marufuji, and even KENTA may factor into the main-event scene. Tiny portions from this episode: “Kiyomiya is good, and everything ‘bad’ about him is actually great”“KENTA could easily snap your baby NOAH heart like a twig. Don’t test him”“My Shiozaki fixation grows by the day”“Please NOAH: Spare Sugiura your weird, weird booking choices. I beg you”“HAYATA and YO-HEY back together? I don’t even care if it doesn’t make sense; I’m just happy”“Can Eddie Edwards and superhero Kotoge save the GHC Heavyweight Tag division from destruction?” * Follow me on Twitter: @puregradepuro * Official Podcast: Youtube – Apple Podcasts – Podbean

We love to fight. In this intro to the episode we discuss Defiant's tv title match last month of Ospreay v Walter, and catch up with both Mae Young Classic 2 and Stardom's 5 Star Grand Prix (0-16). Our spotlight in this episode covers the excellent ring worker Dave 'Fit' Finlay. He was the man that kickstarted training WWE's golden age of women's wrestlers (16-41). In our Tier 3 indie wrestling discussion we got some quick recaps of NOAH's Kawasaki's Festival, Marufuji's 20th Anniversary, AJPW's Summer Explosion, and some Impact Wrestling (41-59). Then, Jay from Smack It Down joins JD for an in depth review of wXw's Fan Appreciation Nights 1 and 2 (59-2:17). Rad and JD finally cover what went down at All In and mark out to it (2:17-2:52). In our Tier 2, NJPW is on their Road to Destruction tour and ROH's 30 minute iron man match from TV (2:52-3:00). The 2018 WWE Hell in a Cell ppv is coming, and we have some feelings about what has been going down lately and the lead up through the promotion: main roster, nxt, and 205live (3:00-3:20). Quick rundown over the podcast's wrestler rankings. We finish up with reviewing, not an episode of WCW Thunder, but Super Brawl 8, 1998 (3:20-end). A look at Marufuji vs. Okada and Miyahara vs. Suwama, two matches that say a lot about the status, and future, of Japanese Pro Wrestling!
A GHC Title Match that tells many stories, and gives the feeling of what it means to be an All Japan/NOAH main event.
Week 4 of the G1 Climax saw some of the biggest battles in the tournament so far. James is joined this week by Alex Edwards of WrestleTalk TV and Chelsea Spollen of Shoulders Up to go deep on the G1 for the fourth week running. Toru Yano continued his winning ways, and some of those less likely had a good week with Bad Luck Fale and Togi Makabe keeping themselves in contention. There were also some breathtaking matches from SANADA, Marufuji and Tanahashi as well as a truly epic all CHAOS bout between Tomohiro Ishii and Kazuchika Okada. Find out what your plucky critics thought as they fight Strong Style match exhaustion to being you this week's G1 Round Up.
This week on Wrestling Omakase John is joined by returning guest Eyean (@skrongstyle) to discuss the latest from All Japan Pro Wrestling! John & Eyean start the episode off with a recap of the Champion Carnival and some thoughts on their favorite matches from this year's league, including of course the Miyahara-Marufuji final. Once that's done we then turn our attention to May 24th's big Korakuen show, which again saw Miyahara take on Marufuji, this time for the Triple Crown! We go match-by-match discussing the entire card, which also included Jake Lee's big return from injury. Once we're done we do a bit of a puro grab bag segment as we discuss recent happenings in Big Japan and thoughts on Okada-Tanahashi in New Japan, among other topics. It's another fun trip through puroresu, this week on Wrestling Omakase!Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/wrestling-omakase/donationsWant to advertise on this podcast?
