Check out the new episode with special guests Brohemoth, Scarlett & Zeke Mercer…right now, wherever you get your podcasts. (STINGER: WWE) Who's staying…and who's leaving NXT? The answers are not 100% clear following last night's episode, but here's what we do know. Johnny Gargano was in the midst of what sounded like an emotional farewell at the end of the show, but he was interrupted by an attack from Grayson Waller…who powerbombed Gargano through the announce table. The show opened with Von Wagner beating Kyle O'Reilly inside a steel cage, and battering O'Reilly with the cage door after the match. Pics have surfaced from after last night's show went off the air, showing Gargano, O'Reilly and Tomasso Ciampa embracing. Shawn Michaels was also giving out hugs. This LOOKED like a farewell for both Gargano and O'Reilly. Time will tell. MSK's shaman was revealed last night. It's Riddle! He gave them some words of advice and promised not to leave. Santos Escobar beat Xyon Quinn. Elektra Lopez slipped Quinn a pair of brass knuckles, but he never used them and Escobar won anyway. Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs beat the Creed Brothers…despite the Grizzled Young Veterans STEALING the tag rope from Jensen & Briggs' corner. The ref decided this meant Jensen couldn't tag in Briggs…but Jensen still managed to roll up one of the Creeds and get the pin. Dexter Lumis beat North American Champion Carmelo Hayes via disqualification. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's Dynamite has the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale. The last two men in the ring will meet next week for the Dynamite Diamond Ring, which MJF has won twice. Also tonight…Bryan Danielson vs. John Silver…Jamie Hayter vs. Riho…and the Young Bucks vs. Chuck Taylor & Rocky Romero. On last night's Dark… Emi Sakura beat Ryo Mizunami…after Mei Suruga attacked Mizunami behind the referee's back. There was post-match attack but Riho came to Mizunami's rescue. Also, Lee Moriarty beat Misterioso. Tony Khan told Barstool Sports the Christmas week episode of Rampage will air NOT on Christmas Eve, which is a Friday…but on Saturday - Christmas Day itself. (STINGER: ROH) A new title match is now added Ring Of Honor's Final Battle pay-per-view on Saturday. Dalton Castle will defend the ROH TV Title in a 4-Way…against Rhett Titus, Silas Young and Joe Hendry. Tonight's MLW Fusion Alpha has a Philadelphia Street Fight for the MLW Tag Titles - Los Parks defending against 5150. Also, the MLW debut of nZo. He'll face Matt Cross. Major League Wrestling's new MLW Azteca series will premiere on its YouTube channel on Thursday, January 6th. Dirty Dango - formerly known as Fandango in WWE - was on last night's NWA Powerrr…standing alongside JTG. Also on the show, Nick Aldis & Doug Williams - The British Invasion reunited…and they beat Luke & PJ Hawx. Colby Corino and The Fixers beat Victor Benjamin and The OGK. Corino pinned Benjamin. And Jennacide beat Paola Blaze… (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Best Of The Super Juniors tournament resumes Wednesday. Meanwhile, four teams are tied for the top spot in the World Tag League…with just two nights of matches left in that tournament. Two of those teams tied at 14 points a apiece will meet on Thursday, when Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI face Great-O-Khan & Aaron Henare. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA are also at 14 points. They beat the Guerrillas of Destiny on Tuesday, eliminating the G.O.D from contention. Naito & SANADA go up against Tiger Mask & Yuji Nagata on Thursday. The fourth team sitting at 14 points is the IWGP Tag Champs Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr. They face Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma on Thursday. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, December 8th. Check out the new episode right now...wherever you get your podcasts. (STINGER: AEW) AEW begins the final drive toward the Full Gear pay per view on tonight's Dynamite. AEW Champion Kenny Omega and Hangman Page will meet for a contract signing ahead of their title match on Saturday night. Also tonight...Bryan Danielson vs. New Japan's Rocky Romero... FTR's Dax Harwood vs. Pac. AEW Women's Champ Dr. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter & Rebel vs. Tay Conti, Anna Jay & Thunder Rosa... And Lio Rush & Dante Martin vs. Matt Sydal & Lee Moriarty. Martin pinned Frankie Kazarian on last night's Dark...thanks to a timely bit of outside interference by Rush. Also on last night's Dark, Sydal & Moriarty beat 2point0. The Gunn Club beat Dark Order's Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds & Colt Cabana. Austin Gunn surprised Uno with a rollup - and grabbed the top rope - to steal the pin. Austin Gunn still has a perfect record in AEW. Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs beat Dark Order's Alan 5” Angels & 10. Angels took the pin. Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander and Ryo Mizunami beat Emi Sakura, Jamie Hayter and Rebel. Rosa pinned Rebel. There was some post-match tension between Statlander and Ruby Soho ahead of their second round match in the TBS Championship Tournament. Christian Cage, Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus beat Matt Hardy, The Blade & Isiah Kassidy. Jungle Boy forced The Blade to tap out to the Snare Trap. Darby Allin pinned QT Marshall with the Coffin Drop. Plus, Too Fast Too Fuego beat Nick Comoroto & Aaron Solo, who took the pin. (STINGER: WWE) On last night's NXT… Pete Dunne pinned the North American Champion Carmelo Hayes in a non-title match. The end saw Johnny Gargano reach up from under the ring and grab Hayes' foot. That distraction set up Hayes for the Bitter End. Toxic Attraction beat Io Shirai, Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter. Gigi Dolin pinned Carter. Shirai's former tag team partner, Zoey Stark, confirmed on Tuesday that she suffered a major knee injury...and is now recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL and meniscus. Getting back to last night… Joe Gacy got a win over Boa via disqualification. This was what you'd expect until the lights in the arena started flashing. This apparently affected Boa because he grabbed Gacy with a choke hold and wouldn't let go, leading to the DQ. Kay Lee Ray pinned Sarray. Solo Sikoa pinned LA Knight to win a 3-Way that also included Grayson Waller. The Creed Brothers beat Kushida & Ikemen Jiro. Xyon Quinn turned down an invitation from Elektra Lopez to join Legado Del Fantasma. NXT's War Games pay per view is now set for Sunday, December 5th. Makeup and special effects artist Jason Baker told the news outlet Metro in the United Kingdom that he and Windham Rotunda - the former Bray Wyatt in WWE - are “starting a film at the end of the month.” (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan announced the teams for the upcoming World Tag League tournament. The current reigning IWGP tag champs, Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr., are in. So are the Guerrillas Of Destiny...Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano...Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma...Hiroyoshi Tenzen & Satoshi Kojima...Yuji Nagata & Tiger Mask...Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI...Tetsuya Naito & SANADA...Great-O-Khan & Aaron Henare...EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi...Bad Luck Fale is back, tagging with Chase Owens...and Minoru Suzuki will tag with another returning name, TAKA Michinoku. The tournament begins on Sunday. Juice Robinson told Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso his current contract with New Japan will expire in February. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV...Bandido successfully defended the ROH World Championship against Alex Zayne...and Josh Woods beat LSG to retain his Pure Championship. Major League Wrestling and The Crash will co-promote an event in Tijuana, Mexico on December 3rd. Finally, a pair of deaths to report. Angelo Mosca - a legendary sports figure in Canada - died on Saturday. He was 84. And Judy Bagwell - mother of former WCW star Buff Bagwell and yes, a former WCW Tag Team Champion - passed away at the age of 78. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, November 10. The NJPW Title reign of Kazuchika Okada looked to be in jeopardy as Zack Sabre Jnr. plowed through the competition in the New Japan Cup. James is joined by Marcus Green of Total Wrestling Magazine to run down the Sakura Genesis. Alongside this highly anticipated main event, The Young Bucks were back in action against Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi as Bullet Club continues to fall apart. The NEVER Open weight Tag Titles were on the line as Guerillas of Destiny and Bad Luck Fale defended against Michael Elgin, Rysuke Taguchi and Togi Makabe. Ropongi 3K and Los Ignorables de Japon would attempt to unseat the current IWGP Jnr. Tag Champs in another three way bout and Will Osperay would defend his IWGP Junior Heavyweight title against career long nemesis "The Villian" Marty Scurll
James is joined this week by Alex Watt to discuss New Japan's 46th Anniversary show, the traditional kick start to the New Japan Cup tour. NJPW try and do something different with this show and the 46th Anniversary was no different. Will Osperay helped bring back tradition as the Junior Heavyweight Champion took on his stable mate and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. The Junior Heavyweight tag titles were also on the line as Sho and Yo of RP3K defended the titles against LIJ & Suzuki Gun. Minoru Suzuki defended his Intercontinental Title against Togi Makabe and there was some general fun stuff along the way.
On the twentieth first edition of the Strong Style Story Podcast, Geoffrey Wessel, "Papa" Steve Cash (who welcomed a baby girl into the family days before the recording) and Lawrence O'Brien hold down the fort and attempt to make sense of the current ongoings of New Japan Pro Wrestling. On this edition, they cover the Togi Makabe 20th Anniversary show, the first of the two ROH/NJPW Honor Rising shows along with previewing the 45th Anniversary Show, going over the Pro Wrestling Masters show from 2/8 but the biggest scoop of Strong Style Story thus far is in the middle as Geoffrey Wessel interviews none other than the former IWGP Intercontinental Champion and current NJPW wrestler "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin, as they talk about pro wrestling, NJPW, Glory Pro and much more. This is an edition of the show you don't want to miss. Week 4 of the G1 Climax saw some of the biggest battles in the tournament so far. James is joined this week by Alex Edwards of WrestleTalk TV and Chelsea Spollen of Shoulders Up to go deep on the G1 for the fourth week running. Toru Yano continued his winning ways, and some of those less likely had a good week with Bad Luck Fale and Togi Makabe keeping themselves in contention. There were also some breathtaking matches from SANADA, Marufuji and Tanahashi as well as a truly epic all CHAOS bout between Tomohiro Ishii and Kazuchika Okada. Find out what your plucky critics thought as they fight Strong Style match exhaustion to being you this week's G1 Round Up.
Join the Truepenny Show for a night by night, match by match, guide to the best bits of the G1. Week two of the G1 was all about resurgence as the veterans Yuji Nagata, Hiroshi Tenzan and Togi Makabe led the way with some big time performances. James is joined by Chelsea Spollen and Alex Watt to break down the results and what the old guard riding to the top means for the tournament. It wasn't all doom and gloom for the youngsters with break out performances for Sanada and NOAH's Katsuhiko Nakajima. But what has happened to Hiroshi Tanahashi? And how is Kazuchika Okada's plan of taking the G1 Trophy while still IWGP Champion going?
Sean Garmer and Paul Leazar discuss everything from New Japan's first night of tournament action on this W2M EXTRA. They start by going through the four undercard matches, including the very good Los Ingobernables vs. Yuji Nagata, Michael Elgin, and David Finlay Jr six man tag match. Then the guys discuss the five G1 A Block matches on the show. The terrific Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Tomohiro Ishii match. Next was the decent Togi Makabe vs. Tama Tonga match. Then was the good Hirooki Goto vs. Bad Luck Fale match. After that, the two main events take center stage. SANADA and Hiroshi Tanahashi astound in their great match. Finally, Naomichi Marufuji scores a HUGE upset win against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. Quite a bit to discuss and analyze on this NJPW G1 Climax 26 Night 1 Review.
