Ep. 52 - Ivar Stenberg chats with Dan Rusanowsky. TT: 00:13:00
Programleder: Joakim Birkeli Jacobsen, nyhetsredaktør i Shifter.

Daily Faceoff Prospect Analyst Steven Ellis joined Nick Alberga & David Pagnotta to break down his latest top 100 NHL Draft rankings and everything surrounding the upcoming draft. The conversation started with Ivar Stenberg's impressive showing at the World Championship and what it's done for his stock. That said, Ellis still has Gavin McKenna atop his board and believes the Leafs should select him first overall. He explained what makes McKenna such a special talent, what Toronto fans could expect from him in his rookie season, and weighed the pros and cons of McKenna versus Stenberg.Additionally, Ellis touched on Leafs prospect Tinus Luc Koblar, who's having a strong World Championship representing Norway. The conversation then shifted to the Toronto Marlies' playoff run, where Ellis praised the play of Easton Cowan and Ben Danford. He also discussed the crease, highlighting Artur Akhtyamov's stellar postseason and why he believes Dennis Hildeby should be with the Leafs next season. In fact, Ellis said there's a world where Hildeby and Akhtyamov eventually become Toronto's NHL goalie tandem.

Re-posting this CLAMMY AND FISHY BONUS EPISODE in memory of beloved Seattle historian Paul Dorpat, October 28, 1938 to May 27, 2026. Anyone who works in history, public history or anything related to local history in the Pacific Northwest stands on the shoulders of the kind-hearted, brilliant and very funny Paul Dorpat. He was truly one of the good guys. REST IN PEACE. ORIGINAL EPISODE DESCRIPTION: On this CLAMMY AND FISHY BONUS EPISODE of CASCADE OF HISTORY from November 2025, Feliks Banel (clam)digs into the audio archives to tell the twisted tale of the Ivar's Billboard Hoax, aka "Underwatergate." Though, once you've listened, it may have you wondering if there was ever hoax at all, or if it was actually some kind of elaborate coverup. In 2009, Seattle-based Ivar's seafood restaurants released a series of videos documenting the search for and discovery of UNDERWATER BILLBOARDS in Puget Sound. As the story goes, they were placed in the 1950s by restaurateur and showman Ivar Haglund to reach burgeoning submarine traffic. The 2009 undersea search was all very exciting, and many were completely hooked. But then, Jim Dever, with KING 5's Evening Magazine at the time - and still a great friend of CASCADE OF HISTORY - had the exclusive exposé, produced in cooperation with Ivar's, and featuring Ivar's CEO Bob Donegan. As Dever's report made it seem, the whole thing was a brilliant stunt that fooled a lot of people - but it angered a few, too, who thought Ivar's had gone too far. Fast forward to November 2015, and naïve history radio correspondent Feliks Banel set out to tell the backstory with help from Paul Dorpat. Dorpat is a beloved historian - and friend and biographer of Ivar - who had served as official historian of the vintage underwater billboard hunt. When the hoax had been revealed in 2009, Dorpat – longtime author of the weekly “Now & Then” history column - was criticized by many, and even temporarily suspended by The Seattle Times for his role in the stunt. As you listen to Paul Dorpat's 2015 version of events, try to keep clam. CASCADE OF HISTORY is broadcast LIVE most Sunday nights at 8pm Pacific Time via SPACE 101.1 FM in Seattle and gallantly streams everywhere via www.space101fm.org. The radio station broadcasts from studios at historic Magnuson Park – located in the former Master-at-Arms' quarters in the old Sand Point Naval Air Station - on the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle. Subscribe to the CASCADE OF HISTORY podcast via most podcast platforms and never miss regular weekly episodes of Sunday night broadcasts as well as frequent bonus episodes.

The guys also discuss the importance of stockpiling talent throughout the organization, whether the Canucks should consider drafting both Ruck twins, and why Aatu Räty's strong play at Worlds raises questions about how he was used last season. Plus, Dimitri Filipovic and Drance dive into major NHL team-building lessons from this year's playoffs, including why teams shouldn't overvalue size, overpay goalies, or rely on simply “sneaking into” the postseason and catching fire. Täna on meil taas külas Ivar Krustok ja räägime sellest, kuidas lühikese aja jooksul lekkisid enne ilmumist uus Forza Horizon, Lego Batman ja Subnautica 2. The team had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Ivar Kruusenberg about clean mobile power generation and as per usual, accidentally stepped into the zeitgeist, rediscovering those deep bonds between green molecules and energy security.Ivar has discovered a “niche” market that is actually quite large and has built a rapidly growing business, raising capital last December in a market that is reportedly “dead”. Ivar is a unique leader but perhaps one of the bright lights paving the way forward in hydrogen. About Dr. Ivar Kruusenberg:Ivar is a serial entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of PowerUP Energy Technologies. He holds a PhD in chemistry with a focus on fuel cells from the University of Tartu, completed postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley, and has nearly two decades of experience in the field. Dr. Kruusenberg works closely with governments on hydrogen strategy development and previously founded the successful scale-up UP Catalyst. Before his work in deep tech, Ivar was an Estonian national snowboarding champion.About PowerUp:Estonia-headquartered PowerUP Energy Technologies develops and manufactures hydrogen fuel cell generators that provide clean, silent, and reliable power for off-grid, backup, and portable applications. The products replace polluting diesel generators with zero-emission alternatives that can integrate seamlessly with renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and solar power. PowerUP's product range is commercially available and actively deployed across the marine, healthcare, telecom, construction, and defence sectors.PowerUP was founded in California in 2016, has raised over US$10 million and employs approximately thirty people. --LinksPowerUP Site - https://powerup-tech.com/PowerUP Blog - https://powerup-tech.com/news/
Normalizing Non-Monogamy - Interviews in Polyamory and Swinging
Candace is a queer, polyamorous mom in her mid-forties who's been exploring non-monogamy consensually for about 15 years and has been together with her husband for about 11 years. While it's been 15 years since Candace started exploring non-monogamy consensually she vulnerably shares with us that during her twenties she was a habitual cheater and that it took hitting rock bottom at around age 30 for her to entirely reshape how she was doing relationships to be more aligned with her heart and values. Of course, redesigning your entire approach to relationships is no small task! She explored swinging on her own for a few years before meeting her now-husband. Then, over the course of about 7 years they slowly expanded their relationship to where it is today… Candace is polyamorous, her husband is monogamish, they have what they call a “poly sphere” with about 50 people in it that spans the US, and they're a bicoastal family living part of the year together on each coast and living part of the year separately on opposite coasts. We cover a ton in this powerful conversation with Candace and we're excited to share it with all of you! Candace Klein is a lawyer, entrepreneur, and transformational leader whose work spans finance, technology, and human development. Over the past fifteen years, Candace has served in senior executive and C-suite roles across venture-backed startups and global payments companies, including Chief Commercial Officer of Lynx, a healthcare payments company, and Senior Vice President of Embedded Finance at FIS, a global payments firm with more than 66,000 employees. She is the former co-author of Typhoon Honey: The Only Way Out Is Through, a book on emotional intelligence and transformational growth, and has recently published Polyagony: The Art of Repair in Open Relationships. Today, Candace lives on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with her husband Andrew, their son Ivar, and their two dogs, Pan and Cinder. Check out the full show notes here. A snowy museum visit, a restless soundscape, and a conversation that kept outshining the art on the walls—this one is about the moment when performance feels undeniably real. We dig into why sincerity and trust matter so much, how a chosen audience can change the stakes, and what happens when the right people step into a room with the right intent. When you take your crowd seriously, they rise to the occasion, and the noise—footsteps, hums, clinks—turns into texture rather than distraction. From there, we unpack the power of teams and the long game of collaboration. Keeping a core crew over years compounds trust and taste, especially in small, fragile communities where one loss can feel like a corner of the room disappears. We ask the uncomfortable question: does time served equal value? Sometimes a decade of work underwhelms; sometimes a poem drafted at 5pm pierces straight through. The difference is judgment. Artists are editors and choice-makers, and the craft is in choosing what to keep, what to cut, and when to let the gesture speak without words. We also wade into AI, authorship, and authenticity. If a machine can make the frame, who supplies the meaning? The answer lives in the curating eye: selecting, sequencing, and framing with intent. Outsourcing isn't new—pop songs and comedy thrive on writers' rooms—so we explore how juggling, magic, and movement reframe authorship and improvisation. Delay the narrative, read the room, and collapse possibilities into a single, resonant outcome. Along the way, we talk myth-making and emotional truth: the stories artists tell themselves to aim higher, and the stories audiences need to feel the aura of the work.If you care about performance that invites rather than insists, about teams that build taste over time, and about the razor's edge between process and product, you'll find plenty to chew on here.
