Neon Maniacs! Isn't that a Sabbath song? Nah, you're thinking Neon Knights. NEON MANIACS is this week's pick. Join us as we deep dive into why this movie struggled to get off the ground, and why it's such a mess. I mean, are they cenobites? Nope. Are they a demonic version of The Village People? Closer, but still nah. I guess....they're just the maniacs!
Given the recent release & fanfare surrounding the remixed and remasterized 40th anniversary edition of LIVE EVIL, the “first official” live album from metal founding fathers BLACK SABBATH and the last official album to feature RONNIE JAMES DIO on vocals (until 1992 anyway), we felt obliged to share our own personal experiences regarding LIVE EVIL, from our first listen until now. With a setlist including a balanced mix of classic Ozzy era tracks blended with the more recent Dio era tracks from MOB RULES & HEAVEN AND HELL, it's certainly a live album that any fan of Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, and/or live concert albums in general, should have in their collection. Being that this is a “LIVE DIVE”, this episode is definitely BIG. Prepare to discover what might just be “the perfect beer” and understand that there's definitely a BIG difference between “Brewering and Breuering”. Get ready to “poon the peen” as you bear witness to the latest collab between “Ron Jeremy and Sammy Hagar” and find out how little it takes to entertain us in a BIG way. Call up your “fluff person” for some BIG “bonus hole” maintenance and JOIN US in the Bunkerpoon as we reflect on 40 years of LIVE EVIL from the mighty and powerful (and also BIG) BLACK SABBATH. “So I told him about my pain and the life I've been through, he just smiled and the laughter came Then I told him that I love you…and the devil cried.” The early 80's saw a changing of the guard in BLACK SABBATH, with vocalist RONNIE JAMES DIO becoming the new “captain at the helm” as the front man for the legendary Birmingham quartet and bringing along with him a heroic dose of wizards, dragons, clean tigers, shiny diamonds, and more mystical lyrical metaphors than you can shake a sorcerer's scepter at. Get ready to expand your thumbtack and yarn collection regarding absurdly intentioned speed trap conspiracies found near Bunkerpoon Industrial Boulevard, maybe crack open an ice cold Moo-Hoo (or two) & enjoy the delicious flavor of victory that could only be brewed in a city that's home to the National Champions, prepare to get surly, “speed up the brown”, and JOIN US as we wax nostalgic and look back on the 2nd wave of Black Sabbath that is known throughout the realm as DIO ERA SABBATH. Onto the 80s we go and heavy metal/hard rock was undeniably on the upswing. A bunch of young whippsnappers were nipping at the heels of the established giants, egging them onto heavier and better heights. So it's more than appropriate that our playlist oscilates between the NWOBHM and veteran camps throughout this head-shakingly good set of tracks. Steel yourself, your about to experience a loss of control!! Side 1 (0:00) "Steeler" - JUDAS PRIEST - British Steel (4:30) "Euthanasia": TYGERS OF PAN TANG - Wild Cat (8:17) "Loss of Control": VAN HALEN - Women and Children First (10:55) "Freeway Mad": SAXON - Wheels of Steel (13:37) "Warped": BLACKFOOT - Tomcattin' (17:49) "Answer To The Master": DEF LEPPARD - On Through The Night (21:00) "Neon Knights" - BLACK SABBATH - Heaven & Hell Side 2 (24:49) "Prowler": IRON MAIDEN - Iron Maiden (29:24) "Youngblood": UFO - No Place To Run (33:24) "Angel Witch": ANGEL WITCH - Angel Witch (36:47) "Violent Love": TED NUGENT - Scream Dream (39:52) "Out of the Way": VARDIS - 100 MPH (42:47) "Finish Line": FRANK MARINO & MAHOGANY RUSH - What's Next (46:56) "Givin' The Dog A Bone": AC/DC - Back In Black

The Champions continue their journeys throughout the remnants of the Sey'Cam lair where they discovered the Abevalowvian being known as Shae, strike a deal and even one of them being smitten by her. Will the Champions be able to fulfill her request or will the Ruinous Powers lay claim to them?
Episode 16 of season 4 started a bit differently as I was testing out the auto DJ function and instead of starting up the theme song for TSORR, it played Whitesnake. Normality was resumed quickly and we sped through some Black Sabbath and ACDC. I pointed out that 'Neon Knights' off Sabbath's Heaven and Hell is the song responsible for the world's greatest ever collective sigh. I am still deeply under the spell of the book Nothin' But a Good Time, the story of 80's hair metal so we checked out Girl and L.A. Guns. We took a listen to Bob Dylan's live version of 'All Along The Watchtower' as promised last week. The new stuff included more Smith / Kotzen and Greta Van Fleet off their brand new album The Battle at Garden's Gate. I am raving about the tracks I have heard off the soon-to-be-released Myles Kennedy album, the track we played, 'Get Aong' is superb. Other than that it was pretty much par for the course, The Burning and L.A. Cobra for South Africa, James Reyne, ACDC, and Jet for Aussie, Kreator and In Flames for metal and The Distillers and Stiff Little Fingers for punk. A highlight for me was listening to 'Dreamer Deceiver', Judas Priests' masterpiece off Sad Wings of Destiny, it is a reminder once again of just how good Rob Halford is. Artists featured: Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Ministry, Scorpions, Girl, L.A. Guns, Greta Van Fleet, The Dead Daisies, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Bob Dylan, Kreator, Gorky Park, Ozzy Osbourne, Stiff Little Fingers, The Distillers, Pink Floyd, Smith / Kotzen, Jet, James Reyne, Myles Kennedy, Twisted Sister, Probot, Dokken, The Burning, L.A. Cobra, Iron Maiden, Guns 'n' Roses, Accept, Jetboy, Great White, Hinder, Judas Priest, Todd La Torre, In Flames, Kiss.

Hello Metal Heads. Welcome to March Madness. What a better way to start the month than with a visit with our old friend Vinny Appice. Vinny is here to discuss the new Black Sabbath re issue and to give us a update on his band Last in Line. Rhino Records salutes the long shadow cast by this short-lived lineup with newly remastered versions of both albums expanded with rare and unreleased music. Heaven and Hell: Deluxe Edition and Mob Rules: Deluxe Edition will be released separately on March 5, 2021. Singer Ronnie James Dio joined Black Sabbath in 1979 and quickly found kindred spirits in guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward. When Heaven And Hell was released in April 1980, the album was met with effusive reviews for the band's return to form on metal masterpieces like “Neon Knights” and the title track. The album reached #9 in the U.K. and #28 in the U.S., where it was also certified platinum. Heaven and Hell: Deluxe Edition adds several bonus tracks that have never been released in North America, including versions of “Children of the Sea” and “Die Young” recorded live in 1980 in Hartford, CT. The set concludes with live rarities like “E5150” and “Neon Knights” that originally appeared in 2007 on the Rhino Handmade's limited edition collection, Black Sabbath: Live At Hammersmith Odeon. To follow-up Heaven And Hell, the group returned to the studio in 1981 to begin recording Mob Rules, with drummer Vinny Appice joining the band for the first time. Released in October 1981 and certified gold, the album was another Sabbath classic, including standouts like “The Sign of the Southern Cross,” “Turn Up The Night” and the title track. Mob Rules: Deluxe Edition boasts an expansive selection of rare and unreleased recordings. Along with additional tracks from Live At Hammersmith Odeon, the collection also includes a newly mixed version of “The Mob Rules.” The cherry on top is an entire concert recorded in 1982 in Portland, OR. Highlights include stellar performances of “Neon Knights” “Heaven And Hell” and “Voodoo.” Metal Mayhem ROC show correspondent and Sabbath expert; "Metal Walt" checks in with recap of the DIO Sabbath Years. Opening with a great discussion filled with the wit -n- humor that only "Metal Walt" can provide.
“Look inside of yourself, you might see someone you don’t know…” – DIO. Anytime someone utters the name “Ronnie James Dio”, almost immediately one is transported to another dimension ruled by magic and fantasy; a place where wizards conjure spells and help angels to protect the castle from the dragons of the realm with clean tigers and shiny diamonds. “Ride the carousel and cast a magic spell…” – Rainbow. Throughout his career, whether it was with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath or his solo band, RONNIE JAMES DIO always supplied a generous dosage of magic, mysticism, and fantastical medieval imagery to Metal, describing (with sublimely, diametrically opposed metaphors) the mysteries and lessons of life that we must face, like dragons that must be slain and conquered in order for the kingdom to survive and thrive. “So, bring an exorcist, a wizard and The Holy Ghost...” - Black Sabbath. Call your D&D friend down at the Help Desk and order some more relaxer, crank up the black lights, grab your sword and a charm blessed by a virtuous witch and JOIN US as we sample the catalogue of one of the most powerful, distinctive, and legendary voices in the whole of the realm of the Kingdom of Metal. MBTV HELLOWEENIE SPECIAL 2020!, ROOOOOO CAM!, AND AXES!
You think those metal horns in my logo are by accident? Ronnie James Dio's 7-album tear: Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Rising, Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, Heaven and Hell, The Mob Rules, Holy Diver, and The Last in Line, are nearly unparalleled in hard rock and metal history. That's what made the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's decision to pass him over when it inducted Black Sabbath such a travesty. All of that, plus Steppenwolf, Judas Priest, and others, in this episode of Well Disguised. Thanks for listening! (I messed up when recording and kept calling "The Mob Rules" album "Neon Knights" instead, so I apologize in advance for the sloppy edits!) --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/welldisguised/message

We are joined by local metal aficionado Gregory Smith as we navigate the multitudinous sub-genres of metal, Billy Corgan's creepiness, and challenging each other to writing erotic fan fiction. NEON KNIGHTS!
