Esta semana, en una nueva edición de Rebelión Sónica, los invitamos a sumergirse en parte del álbum debut de I.P.Y., el súper trío conformado por tres artistas de crucial importancia del avant-garde japonés: Ikue Mori, Phew y YoshimiO. El disco, que fue editado en octubre por el sello del compositor estadounidense John Zorn, Tzadik Records, se grabó en el Club U.F.O. de Tokio y la música resultante fue editada y mezclada durante los meses de cuarentena a principios de 2020. De acuerdo a Tzadik, se trata de una propuesta “sorprendente y poderosa de una reunión fabulosa y esencial de tres superestrellas de la música de avanzada”. Haciendo un resumen de las extensas carreras de las tres titulares del disco, Ikue Mori fue integrante de la banda DNA y una vital fuerza creativa de la escena del Downtown de Nueva York; Phew fundó el grupo Aunt Sally en 1978 y ha sido parte de incontables proyectos solistas y en colaboración y YoshimiO es una integrante principal de bandas de la importancia de Boredoms, Saicobab y OOIOO. En la parte final del programa, viajamos al pasado en la historia de Ikue Mori, para escucharla con material de su disco para música de cine y películas de 1998, simplemente titulado “B/Side”. Como siempre, Rebelión Sónica se transmite por radio Rockaxis los miércoles a las 10, 17 y 23 horas -se repite los domingos a las 19-, con la conducción y curatoría de Héctor Aravena.
