Clare County Council is being called upon to dish out penalties for drivers who abuse priority parking bays in Clare. There are 52 spaces in this county which are intended for the use of older people and those with reduced mobility to ensure ease of access to town and village centres. The bays are marked with double 'P' lettering in highlighted paint , but as there's no permit system for priority bays, their use depends entirely on a de-facto honour system between motorists. Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor Clare Colleran Molloy says it should be factored into updated parking bye-laws for the county.

Happy New Year! We are very happy to be back after a two-month Hiatus during which time we have been working hard to bring you diverse slate of shows with some great guests in 2024. As we kick off 2024 our guest today in Russell Ducharme manager of the City of Racho Cordova's Neighborhood Services. The Neighborhood Services Division's goal is to grow and maintain strong and vibrant neighborhoods through five main programs: Code Enforcement, Animal Services, Parking Enforcement, Rental Housing, and Homeless Outreach. Collaborating with and educating our community about municipal codes, health and safety requirements, and animal services laws creates healthy neighborhoods, happy residents, as well as a sense of community and shared pride. We had a wide-ranging discussion with Russell who told us about the many services Rancho Cordova Neighborhood Services provides the residents of Rancho Cordova. If you enjoy this program, look out for future shows as we ride along with an Animal Services Officer as they go about their work and on another episode as we follow an officer from the Code Enforcment Division to give us a birds eye view on what these hard working men and woman do to keep Rancho Cordova the great city it is today, safe and beautiful.

When Seattle stopped enforcing its 72-hour parking limit in March 2020, it meant Neal Lampi could stay put for a little while. He still occasionally moves the RV in which he lives, but nothing like the “musical chairs” of before. His current parking spot, on Third Avenue South, has been home for the past two months.Mayor Jenny Durkan said last month that the 72-hour limit would return on April 1, just over a year since its pause. Businesses are reopening, said her one-sentence announcement, and as those businesses return to normal, so too must the space around them. There will be a "a period of education" in the coming days, said Rachel Schulkin, spokesperson for Durkan.
