A Texas man has been arrested on charges of harassing and making a terroristic threat against Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani. Prosecutors say Jeremy Fistel was brought to New York and pleaded not guilty this morning. Meanwhile, fewer than 10 percent of tickets from the city's pedicab crackdown have led to penalties, raising questions about enforcement. Plus, in this week's politics segment, WNYC's Brigid Bergin and Jimmy Vielkind discuss Hochul's endorsement of Mamdani, Cuomo's struggle to connect with living Democrats, and why Brad Lander may have complicated his relationship with the frontrunner.
Today we are joined by Gabe Saporta and Sean Barrett. Gabe is the lead singer for Cobra Starship and was one of the early contributors to the East Coast rock scene. Starting in basements and dining halls to touring in huge arenas. We also breakdown the history of the music scene around rock and punk and how it evolved into pop/radio tunes with autotune and technology. Sean has been the host of The Gathering of the Juggalos for the past 3 years so we dive deep in the culture and find out why all juggalos love Faygo. We also take maybe our BEST CALL ever. Our friend Ramsey, a social media expert and app developer, breaks down how social media companies intentionally keep you on their platform and create an algorithm for you that may involve fear or rage to keep you emotionally involved. To end the episode, we call the bro who drove JT home from the Oasis concert in a PediCab to find out more about the industry. #goingdeepwithchadandjt #chadandjt #podcast #cobrastarship More about Gabe here: https://www.instagram.com/xbrotegex/ More about Sean here: https://www.instagram.com/mrseanbarrett/ Come see us on Tour! Matt Mackowiak is the Chairman Of The Travis County GOP. In a City that overwhelmingly votes Democrat, the people who live in Austin are not nearly as woke as they are perceived in the media. Yet the City consistently elects politicians that govern like they're in San Francisco rather than in Texas. In this episode, we talk about whether or not Matt bears some responsibility for this and how the Travis County GOP could improve its messaging so that more people can get involved locally. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/alex-strenger/support

From criminalizing speech, to outlawing protests, to currency collapse, 15 minute cities and the astroturfing of Nazi talking points on X, the establishment is on a crash course to institute a societal collapse in order to rebuild the world in their own image. Last September, a fire broke out at Mark Williams' and Sarah Schaeffer's place when they weren't home. Their garage, filled with all the implements of Mark's pedicab business, quickly burnt to the ground, while their house and neighboring structures were damaged. Luckily, trucks from every fire department around the Grand Valley quickly arrived to extinguish the flames before they spread further, but the impact to Mark's business, Palisade Pedicab, was devastating. What followed was an incredible outpouring of support from the Palisade community that was wonderful to witness. On today's Postcard from Palisade, Mark opens up about the fire, his plans for the future of Palisade Pedicab, the unexpected benefits that have come out of this difficult experience, and he shares a heartfelt thank you to the community for their support and encouragement. To book a pedicab tour: visit palisadepedicab.com or call 970-875-7344.
