Combining Hard Rock with Rock & Roll may not sound like a thing, but it is. It's called Van Halen. I talk about that and the loss of Eddie Van Halen in this episode. Other things covered are Lebron and the Lakers recent title, a day with the Bodell brothers and father, husband, coach and humanitarian Jimmy Nolan. There's a gofundme account under 'The Nolan Family' you can contribute to. A couple sound glitches that somehow I made it through. Thanks again for listening. DC’s Mike James and Mollie Ames discuss: All terrestrial segments were recorded live on October 9th (Day 283 of 2020), and all podcast segments were recorded live on October 12th (Day 286 of 2020) Part 1 of 3 of the Podcast only content – The Browns are 4-1, and clearly we must be living in an alternate reality. About the only thing that appears normal in 2020 so far is JR Smith not wearing a shirt after winning a Championship. Oh, and Jimmy Butler is forever a legend of the game now, and LeBron James is, without question, the greatest to have ever played the game. (You can also check out Greg Miller’s review of Week 5’s Browns win over the Indianapolis Colts by clicking here) RIP Eddie Van Halen, and remembering 'Back To The Future' by watching it again and being reminded that the good ol' days aren't always exactly as how we remember them. "Sulliball" is the only rooting interest left in MLB postseason right now David Attenburough's newest film "Life On Our Planet" (available on Netflix) is pretty much a 90 minute treatise on why no one should be having a baby right now. Part 2 of 3 of the Podcast only content – Meatloaf may be terribly named, a gross looking aged popstar, and mostly nothing more than lazily made slop as a recipe, but it's definitely qualifies as a comfort food. (begins around the 1:21:00 mark) Lachlan MacKinnon’s ‘Best of Edition’ Let Me Tell You A Story: “The Night Terror” (begins around the 1:41:00 mark) If this vote ends up being the last days of Trump, it's a real shame we are too worried to enjoy the death spin he and his office appears to be in right now. Voting early, how to do so in Cuyahoga County, what the experience is like, and the unprecedented importance of voting this year. You may be able to fully trust voting by mail but have you ever really looked at the mail you get these days if you get any at all? Some weird sh*t out there that's being sent via the USPS, that's for sure. Part 3 of 3 of the Podcast only content – Mollie’s Weekly Reports: Don't worry that new moon in our atmosphere is just some space junk, there are great Heinen's groceries out there, good ones, and not good ones, but there is no such things as a bad Heinen's (except for maybe the one in Middleburgh Heights). And Cleveland Browns brand of wine is a thing, even though it definitely should not ever be a thing. (begins around the 2:41:00 mark) The Neilson ratings are stuck in the 50's in how they gather information, so how can we believe anything at all that they list are TV ratings, especially since fewer and fewer people are actually TV in this nation anymore. Mollie’s Weekly Reports, terrestrial edition! – There's cruises to nowhere now... And it might not be that bad of an idea, actually. A Cleveland Baseball Team fan hobo light had a novel way of rooting for their team during the pandemic, and thankfully Delonte West is doing better. All this and so much more on this episode of the Defend Cleveland Podcast. Enjoy~ To contribute to this 100% listener supported show please go to our Patreon page by clicking here. In this episode our host shares his thoughts on cooperation and the lessons our kids can learn from seeing us cooperate with a coparent. This topic was spurred by the world losing Eddie Van Halen this week, as Chris reflected on the perceived cooperative coparenting relationship Eddie and Valerie Bertinelli had after they had gotten divorced. RIP Eddie Van Halen, thank you for the lesson you probably didn't even know you were giving. EVH has sadly passed away after a battle with throat cancer. He was such an influence musically for me. I'm very sad and devastated to hear of his passing. Although I have never met him. I felt such a bond with him through his music. His guitar style was legendary songs like 'Panama', 'Jump' 'Dreams' light up the room. Van Halen was such an epic band and one of my all time favourites. I put my thoughts down in this podcast on how I feel about his passing. Condolences to the Van Halen family and the members of Van Halen during this sad time. May he rest in peace.
