Are interviewers secretly doubting you—and you have no idea what their concerns even are? In this video, I reveal what really happens in debriefing rooms after you leave the interview, and why the reason they give you for not getting the job is almost never the real reason.I share the eye-opening story of Alex, a software developer who was the perfect candidate on paper—but we almost didn't hire him because we thought he was "too outgoing" for our quiet office. Spoiler: he became one of our best hires and transformed our culture. But if we hadn't brought him back to address our hidden concern, we would've rejected him and told him it was because another candidate had "more experience."Learn the seven categories of concerns interviewers have (that they'll never tell you to your face), why asking "do you have any concerns about me?" at the end of an interview backfires, and the strategic questions Alex asked that completely flipped our perception. If you're getting interviews but not offers—and they keep saying you're "not the right fit"—this video will show you what's really going on behind closed doors.Watch the full "Why You're Not Landing Offers" free class: https://www.asknataliefisher.com/why-you-re-not-landing-job-offersFull Shownotes here: https://www.asknataliefisher.com/episode-266

The "Good Guy" act was the very thing making me a monster. In this episode, Jay and Lori discuss the "reckoning" that happens when an addict finally stops managing their image. For years, Jay tried to convince himself and everyone else that he was just a "guy who liked porn", but the reality was much darker. We discuss: The "Monster" Paradox: How the effort to not look like a monster is actually what makes you one. Physical Destruction: The moment Jay realized his stress was causing Lori's body to shut down—leading to early menopause and her hair turning white. The Permanent Limp: Why time does not heal all wounds, and why some parts of a marriage may never reach "100% repair." No More Escape Routes: The "preponderance of evidence" that finally forced Jay to own the depth of the damage. "I would much rather be misunderstood and have a tomorrow, than do all the crap I was doing at that point." Timestamps 00:00 The Monster I Became Trying to Hide? 01:13 Did You Understand the Damage? We’re now on YouTube every week! Click here to subscribe. On our radar this week… There is a lot on our radar along with Santa's sleigh… The Justice Department is dipping into the National Black Toner Cartridge Strategic Reserve as it redacts tens-of-thousands of pages of the Epstein files. Even so, the scandal continues to grow in a way not seen since the days of Monica Lewinsky. Larry Nassar, the disgraced onetime MSU sports doctor, is now a part of the scandal. A note allegedly from Epstein celebrates their shared perverted interest in vulnerable teenage girls. The FBI says the letter is a fake – and we know that Kash Patel would never tell a lie. The newly released files also show Trump was an Epstein Frequent Flyer … after saying for months he never flew on Lolita Airlines. Attorneys General are increasingly in the political bullseye. Democrats in the U.S. House may be joined by some Republicans to impeach Pam Bondi over the Epstein files debacle, even as Bondi continues to fail in efforts to indict New York AG Leticia James. In Michigan, state House Republicans are mulling over an attempt to impeach Attorney General Dana Nessel, something that would be totally symbolic but make MAGA Republicans feel good. The MAGA movement may need to get some couples therapy after an unhinged verbal brawl at the Turning Point USA weekend conference. We'll be joined later in the podcast by Politico senior Adam Wren who's been covering Turning Point's efforts to be a major political force. The next key political battle in Michigan: a special election for the state Senate. The primary for replacing now-Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet is set for February 3 … a swing district that will determine control of the state Senate for 2026. We'll take a look at the candidates on both sides. CBS News has gone from The Gold Standard for broadcast news to the toilet with Trump-favorable censorship of 60 Minutes. Murrow, Cronkite, Severeid, et. al. are spinning in their graves, and the very much alive Katie Couric calls it a “disgrace.” First it was the Donald Trump Institute for Peace, then the Kennedy Center, Trump Saving Accounts, Trump $1 coins. Now Donald Trump has decided an entire class of battleships will bear his name…and he'll play a role in designing them because, he says, “I'm a very aesthetic person.” Is the world's first gold-plated Navy fleet in our future? And will he continue his years-long business of licensing use of his name on other people's projects? Trump has raised the possibility of awarding himself a $1-billion settlement of the lawsuit he's filed against the government he runs…in effect, judge, jury and beneficiary. Why stop at a billion? Why not a trillion or gazillion? Of course he'll say tariffs will cover the check. We’re joined this week by Adam Wren, a national political correspondent for POLITICO, based in the Midwest. He is a contributor to POLITICO Magazine, Playbook and West Wing Playbook, focusing on Donald Trump's remaking of the federal government and the Democratic response to his return to power ahead of what could be a wide-open 2028 presidential contest. Wren previously served as a national politics features correspondent at Business Insider. He has also written for The New York Times and Washington Post. Originally from Ohio, Adam graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and has a master's from Northwestern University's prestigious Medill School of Journalism. Alex built a bio diesel Harley Davidson, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. He then decided to ride it from Vancouver, Canada to San Diego, California, and that seemed like a good idea at the time too. Many lessons were learned along the way, from the engine choice, matching the engine to the transmission, and so much more. Fortunately for us Alex found his way to our garage for some help, and instead got whisked into the studio to be a guest on our podcast. I mean, c'mon, how could we not want to talk about this? https://www.youtube.com/@alexbiomoto Staying with the theme, we talk about other motorcycles that had what we call design flaws. Among them are the KLR doohickey, the Vstrom oil filter, the Zero FX belt and so much more. Let us know what bikes you think have bad design flaws. And lastly, we read all of the emails from the Jason Awards. A girl signs up for a class. A couple hires an accountant. A group of co-workers decides to pool their money and buy a couple of lottery tickets. In the beginning, they're full of hope and optimism — and then something turns. Stories of good ideas gone bad. Prologue: Paul was a cop. One night he was pulling second shift when he had a perfectly good idea: He'd stretch out in the back seat and take a little nap during his break. He fell right asleep, and slept well until he woke up and realized the funny thing about the back seats of cop cars: The doors don't open from the inside. Paul is author of the book Bad Cop: New York's Least Likely Police Officer Tells All. (8 minutes)Act One: It was two months into the tour. Katie Else and the rest of the Riverdance cast had been performing eight shows a week. They decided to pool their money for the Mega-Millions lottery. Lotto fever gripped the cast. They started to genuinely believe they would take home about $2 million each, and quit Riverdance the next day. They took the stage the night of the drawing and pulled off their best performance ever, "For the Lotto!," trying to direct their energy towards the win. An hour later, at the hotel bar, the numbers came in. (17 minutes)Act Two: After years of neglecting their personal finances, Joel and his wife finally decide to sort things out. They hire a tax accountant named Len, whose casual manner is a real comfort, at first. But then, "casual" turns into "drunk" and then it's clear that he's just plain delinquent. Joel tries to take his business elsewhere, but Len refuses to let go of their file. He begs for a second chance, which it seems, came too late. Joel Lovell is executive editor at Pineapple Street Media. (8 minutes)Act Three: Davy Rothbart was on a 136-city tour appearing on morning TV talk shows to promote his book Found: The Best Lost, Tossed, and Forgotten Items from Around the World. Just before one appearance he had what seemed like a great idea at the time. Without letting the host know, he tested it out, live, on-air. Davy is the creator of Found Magazine and author of the book of essays My Heart Is An Idiot. (6 minutes)Act Four: When Elspeth was a girl, she wanted nothing more than her father's attention. He was busy, a doctor, and distant. One day he agrees to put on a volunteer seminar for their church, about his area of expertise: "The Function of the Heart." Elspeth and her best friend are the only two kids who show up, and Elspeth is attentive and engaged, the perfect student. It was an incredible experience for her, the best day she's ever spent with her dad...she thinks. That is, until her mother takes her aside and explains her big mistake. Why has the health sector of the economy uniquely resisted changes in products, productivity, and services that improve consumer satisfaction or reduce prices and spending? One reason, according to the book Seemed Like a Good Idea: Alchemy versus Evidence‐Based Approaches to Healthcare Management Innovation, is that decisionmaking on medical delivery or insurance innovations is often not evidence‐based and sometimes contradictory to evidence. This book explores reasons why the health sector lacks such evidence and why managers often don't use the evidence that does exist. Please join us for a discussion with the authors and Cato director of health policy studies Michael F. Cannon that will explore government policies that cause producers and consumers to leave money on the table. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

There are times when you might have a suspected stress fracture in your foot. If so, your doctor may order an X-ray.  There are other times when it's extremely unlikely that you have a broken bone at all, but it is almost certainly just a soft tissue injury.   One of the questions I get a lot from runners with plantar plate sprains is how to make sure the pain is not from  a stress fracture.   I have only seen one case where somebody had fracture pain in the exact same spot you would have pain when you had a plantar plate injury.    Can a fracture in the metatarsal seem like a plantar plate sprain?    Well, that's what we're talking about today on the Doc On The Run Podcast.

Today in our Listeners' Stories installment, Lynn Short joins her partner Justin to discuss how they met, grew up in, and grew out of a branch of “Gnosis,” a theosophical cult founded in the 1950s by Samael Aun Weor in Columbia. Weor was a classic old-school spiritual pervert, with 60-plus (likely ghostwritten) books to his name, and a passion for meddling in his followers' sex lives. Lynn and Justin describe what it was like to wake up to each other again—and to normal lives—after 17 years of practicing non-orgasmic sex and missionary work. A unique and hopeful look into a relationship that survived coercive influence—a bond that didn't become a trauma bond. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” talks to Yoram Hazony about how liberalism has failed, how to save Judeo-Christian values, and why not having religion in schools may have a higher cost than we expected. First, Yoram discusses why it was a mistake to think that societies could be based on freedom alone. Next, Yoram discusses why conservative policy will not be enough to defeat woke culture and how Judeo-Christian values can be brought back in a Democratic way. Finally, Yoram discusses how a focus on secularism has had many unintended consequences. He argues that focusing on the separation of church and state may have severed any ties between the next generation and texts that are responsible for the freedoms that we all have today.
