"I've got a strange feeling something bad is about to happen." Have you said to this yourself before? If you've been in leadership for any length of time, you've probably experienced this feeling many times throughout the course of your career.  This feeling is actually something valuable to you in your leadership role. It is a sixth sense of a sort. The ability to discern what will happen before it eventually does. The challenge is to not become paranoid while still maintaining an acute sense of awareness of anything and everything that could go wrong in the organization you are leading.  Join Michael and Jim as they explore how to balance a high level of leadership awareness without overreacting and causing more harm than good.

Hear the rollercoaster of emotions the lads went through after the heartbreaking final round loss to the Saints into a weird couple of hours waiting with baited breath for Port Adelaide to beat Fremantle. The Blues will head up to the Gabba to face the Lions in an Elimination Final. As if the week hasn't been enough, Vossy performed a citizens arrest this week and is a local hero in Hawthorn.  If you want to get along and see your favourite footy stars take to the green, go to Event Brite – Movember Golf Day -------- Add the show to your favourites on LiSTNR: https://listnr.com/podcasts/footy-talk-australian-rules-podcast  Listen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/footy-talk-daily-australian-rules-podcast/id1673652644  Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1q5RUW2KTONUoP8KF3ZZHY?si=6798bf7f4a1540be See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We also discuss a few Easter cooking triumps and failures - Caro's Fish Pie was definitely a hit (see David Herbert's recipe below). In '6 Quick Questions' we celebrate Emma Thompson movies, reminisce about the glorious comedy of The Goodies after the death of Tim Brooke-Taylor from Covid-19 on the weekend and talk home delivery. For videos and pics make sure you follow us on Instagram @DontShootPod.Like our Facebook page and hit 'Sign Up' to receive weekly updates HERE.Email the show via feedback@dontshootpod.com.au.Don't Shoot The Messenger is produced, engineered and edited by Jane Nield for Crocmedia.David Herbert's Fish Pie (from The Weekend Australian)2 cups (500ml) fish stock500g skinless salmon fillets500g skinless white fish fillets300g uncooked peeled prawns175g frozen peas, defrosted1 tablespoon chopped chives1 cup (250ml) white wine1 cup (250ml) double cream1 heaped tablespoon cornflourTopping1kg new or chat potatoes, halved500g sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks3 tablespoons olive oilBunch spring onions, chopped140g cheddar cheese, grated2 tablespoons chopped chivesPlace stock in saucepan and bring to the boil; add fish fillets, simmer gently for 5 minutes. From the team that brings you 'Don't Shoot The Messenger' comes 'The Book Pod' inspiring conversations with incredible writers.  Join host Corrie Perkin and internationally-renowned Australian author Liane Moriarty on Episode One of 'The Book Pod'.  Liane discusses her new novel 'Nine Perfect Strangers',  the dichotomy of a writer's life and the 'self loathing' that comes with spending too much time talking about oneself, the thrill of having a novel adapted for the screen by actors like Nicole Kidman and Reece Witherspoon and her involvement in Season 2 of 'Big Little Lies'.  We delve into Liane's childhood literary inspiration, sibling rivalry in a family with three successful writers, and why it's impossible to write while promoting a book.  We have a signed copy of 'Nine Perfect Strangers' to give away - just be the first person to email feeback@thebookpod.com.au and tell us why you enjoyed the podcast and you could be a winner. We'll announce the winner on our next show. You can purchase a copy of Liane Moriarty's 'Nine Perfect Strangers' HERE - our first 20 podcast listeners to use the PROMO CODE 'TheBookPod' at checkout will receive a signed copy of Liane's book (while stocks last).  Our first podcast Book Club book is 'Home Fire' by Kamila Shamsie. We'll be discussing the book in November on the show. You can purchase it HERE.  You can email your thoughts on 'Home Fire' to feedback@thebookpod.com.au if you'd like to be part of the discussion - you can even send a brief voice message. Simply record your comments via the voice recorder on your smart phone and email the mp3 file to us.  To keep up to date with the podcast you can follow 'The Book Pod' on Instagram.  To help others find out about the show, leave a review in Itunes or wherever you get your podcasts.  'The Book Pod' is produced by Corrie Perkin and Jane Nield and engineered and edited by Jane Nield for Crocmedia.
