Some tips on how to get some cilantro in your garden!
You don't need to spray a bunch of pesticides to control pests in your garden. Long before the invention of chemical sprays, nature had a way of protecting itself from predators, and we can take notes! All you need to do to control pests is plant 3 different types of plants in and around your garden space:

Originally described as "not one of our favorites" we came out of this episode with a whole new view of Cilantro and it's many benefits! Yes, you can use it to flavor food however the benefit we discuss the most is how to use for heavy metal detox. Meg notes how much her knowledge has evolved as a Nutrition Practitioner, and now that she does Hair, Tissue, Mineral testing she sees how this oil could help balance the minerals when someone has high levels of heavy metal toxicity which can cause the need to feel in control. Turns out, Cilantro is the Oil of Releasing Control! Listen to hear the whole episode! In this week's episode, we are discussing Nancy Howard, who was shot in the face by a man who was hired by her husband. She survived the almost fatal wound and was able to have her day in court. This is a tale of betrayal, greed, deception and ultimately attempted murder. This episode was recorded live at Henry's Majestic in Dallas, TX on May 2, 2024. We did enjoy a Chardonnay from Horshoe Bend along with grilled Chili-Lime Chicken Skewers accompanied by Cilantro Lime Pearl Couscous and a refreshing Jicama salad.www.texaswineandtruecrime.com

If you'd like to be featured on the podcast please email motherhoodaroundtheworld@gmail.com letting me know where you live, where you grew up and a little bit about yourself.- Emily(Please note this episode discusses infertility and access to abortion.)Claudia's Mango Pico de Gallo* 2 mangos* 2-3 tomatoes (Feel free to use more/less if you love tomatoes)* Lemon juice* Cilantro (better if you use fresh)* 1 onion (I use a purple one for a subtler taste)* Salt and pepper to taste* Chop the mangos, tomatoes, onions and cilantro. Mix together and add the lemon juice, salt and pepper. Better if chilled before serving. You can serve it with tortilla chips and on top of a lettuce salad.Bon appétit! Clients as all the time: should I track this hot sauce? Mustard? Cilantro? Cinnamon? This may be controversial as a flexible dieting/macro tracking coach but my answer is NO. Why? Because I know that isn't your problem, friend. Your issue is eating the bites out of the mac n' cheese pot, the handful of goldfish while making the lunches, the extra mimosas a brunch then the burger after b/c you needed a grease bomb so you didn't eat your planned food. Yikes - this one hurts. But I am here to save you! Tracking is such a great tool, but when we get TOO nuanced we get burn out and then stop. Instead, I have a strategy I am sharing in this episode to help you gain awareness about your eating habits and patterns. Once you try this you will then be armed with the data to make a decision on how to proceed -- no ketchup tracking required!

Unfortunately, our environment is very polluted, and we are bathed in toxins on a daily basis. Heavy metals are one type of these toxins. Today we're going to talk about the best strategy for detoxifying heavy metals. Heavy metals can accumulate in our tissues and can cross the blood-brain barrier. Heavy metal poisoning can affect different parts of the body, including the heart, digestive system, neurons, red blood cells, and certain proteins. Exposure to heavy metals also creates a lot of free radicals and oxidation and forces our antioxidants to work harder. Heavy metals even block our endogenous antioxidants. Our bodies have a very powerful detoxification system, but heavy metals block this important system. While you can avoid heavy metals to a certain degree, you really need to strengthen your detox enzymes: glutathione and SOD. These enzymes help break down chemicals and help prevent oxidation and free-radical damage. The best foods to support heavy metal detoxification: 1. Sulforaphane (broccoli sprouts or broccoli microgreens) 2. Cilantro 3. Allicin (garlic) 4. Curcumin (turmeric) 5. Cruciferous vegetables Two of the best ways to avoid heavy metals: 1. Consume organic foods 2. Get a water filter DATA: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper... https://faseb.onlinelibrary.wiley.com...
