This June, ChatGPT took its first swing with five big questions about Rule Breaker Investing, and a new episodic series was born. Now, we're back for Volume 2—with a baseball twist! ChatGPT pitches David five questions, each a unique pitch type: 1. Hardball: What separates Rule Breakers built to last from those destined to fizzle out? 2. Softball: Can David sum up Rule Breaker Investing in one sentence? 3. Curveball: What would make him rethink a long-term winner? 4. Screwball: Is there a traditional investing rule David (begrudgingly) respects? 5. Knuckleball: If he could pass on just one Rule Breaker principle, what would it be? Come for the hardball, stay for the knuckleball! Host: David Gardner Guest: ChatGPT Producer: Desirée Jones Companies Mentioned: AAPL, AOL, ARM, AXON, BB, DDD, FIT, GPRO, IOM, K, META, NOK, P, TSLA, YHOO

In this session of The Option Alpha Podcast we're going to have a very advanced conversation about implied volatility (IV) and why understanding IV is critical to gaining and edge in the market. Plus we'll use a very specific example with YHOO and HAL both that have IV of 32% but when we apply IV percentiles we find out that you should be trading these stocks completely different. Buckle up - this one is intense!
In this session of The Option Alpha Podcast I'll start a huge discussion on why I think you don't need charting or technical studies to be successful trading options. Plus I'll use YHOO & INTC as examples.

Charts Say Stock Swoon May Have Farther to Go - I don't believe that the universe/capitalism will reward the drawing of straight lines on historical price patterns for a stock. Thusly, I do NOT do nor do I believe you can sustainably profit from any type of "Technical Analysis". Art, maybe, but not profits. But one of the most insightful options traders and options data trackers you'll ever find, Jon Smart, made some great points: "Fundamental traders tend to run into the same problem, too many think a stock is under/over valued and it keeps going against what the majority believes should be happening... The sentiment on $NFLX and $TSLA in late 2012 was that they were way overvalued at $90 and $40 respectively." Alibaba IPO search on Google News - 90,000 headlines in the last week about this topic. I have been patiently waiting to short Yahoo once Alibaba finally comes public. Talk about hype! How LONG have we been hearing about the Alibaba IPO and how Yahoo owns a chunk of it. Any upside for Yahoo from an Alibaba IPO has long since been priced into the stock. I expect $YHOO will make a great short side trade into the Alibaba IPO and there soon after for the near-term. Still gotta wait til closer to Labor Day though. Sigh. How high can the drone revolution fly? - My latest Revolution Investing newsletter. "You see, the biggest problem that all these predictions and models for the Drone Revolution have is that they can't account for the brilliant, innovative and ever new uses that unmanned aircraft and smaller remotely- or automatically-controlled devices will be used for in the future." See also Monday's blog post: Profit from the coming drone revolution.

Today's Cody Underground Topics include: 1. Markets keep falling. Time to do some buying yet? I mention a couple trades I made today. 2. Protesters in Ukraine’s East Call On Putin to Send Troops - Pro-Russian demonstrators occupying a government building in Donetsk also demanded a referendum on seceding from Ukraine, hours after a Ukrainian officer was killed in Crimea. 3. Pandora vs Spotify vs iTunes vs the world. $P is now down in a straight line from $39 to $27 per share, and I’d re-entered the short position on its way down at $35 or so as noted here on Scutify.com. I’m going to lock in about half the gains in my Pandora short position here today. 4. Yahoo gets into the TV business - local and production of a TV-like series. I'm beginning to think $YHOO is a 'House of Cards' so to speak and Marissa Meyer the CEO has bluffed herself into a corner. That sure is a near new font she helped her designers create for the logo, tho huh? As Robert Marcin put it today on Scutify.com "Yahoo is the Sears of the Internet." 5. Deep thot of the day- Are u safe in your GM car since the co and the govt oversight and safety regulations protect u? Or maybe U'd be safer if they stopped all that and simply shut down any co like GM that sells cars that kill people and prosecute the individuals running it. 6. Song of the day is "Pandora's Box" by Aerosmith. See point #3 for why.

Trading Block: Another day, another tech disaster! OPRA (Options Price Reporting Authority) feed went down for about an hour while the underlying continued to trade. What can/should retail do to prepare for these outages? Metals selloff continues. Today's options shutdown is a good argument to use gold options/futures vs. GLD futures. Apple adjustments.
