The scope of his role also includes overseeing the VFW's network of more than 1,950 VFW Accredited Service Officers located around the world and on almost two dozen military installations, to ensure they have the necessary training and resources to provide the best possible service to their veteran clients.Michael got his start serving veterans, service members and their families as a senior family program specialist at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, from 2005 to 2007, where he was responsible for the welfare of the families of soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and the formation and training of family support groups assigned to the 94th Regional Readiness Command, which encompassed the entire Northeast Region. He was then appointed as VFW Service Officer for the VFW Department of Massachusetts in 2008. In 2011, he was hired by the Washington Office as a pre-discharge claims representative for the National Capital Region. Since then, he has served in various positions with NVS to include associate director for field operations and assistant director for veterans benefits policy. Latviešu sociālantropoloģe ilgstoši pētījusi pierobežas iedzīvotāju dzīvi uz Kirgizstānas un Uzbekistānas militarizētās robežas. Šis reģions daļai Latvijas iedzīvotāju ir labi zināms kopīgās Padomju Savienības pagātnes dēļ un tomēr tā ir krietni atšķirīga pasaules no tās, ko pazīstam Eiropā. Kādu ceļu šīs abas valstis gājušas pēdējas desmitgadēs? Kāda loma cilvēku dzīvēs ir robežai un dokumentiem, valsts kontrolei un ierobežotai migrācijai? Kādi sociālie kontakti veidojas starp divām valstīm ar šādu robežu? Un, kā notiek antropoloģiski pētījumi NVS valstīs? Stāsta pētījuma autore sociālantropoloģijas doktore, Bergenas universitātes pētniece Elīna Troščenko. Atšķirīga politiskā un ekonomiskā attīstība pēc Padomju Savienības un etniskie konflikti šajā reģionā ir likuši ieviest pastiprinātu robežu kontroli un kardināli izmainījuši ielas kopienas ikdienu un saskarsmi. Kāda ir dzīve Kirgizstānas rietumu ciemos un ko šis pētījums stāsta par cilvēka un valsts attiecībām? "Vidusāzija vai Centrālāzija ir visnotaļ liela nejaušība man," stāstu par pētījumu aizsāk Elīna Troščenko. "Turpinot antropoloģijas studijas, man bija iespēja doties lauka pētījumā maģistrantūras ietvaros, un es devos uz Gruziju, kur arī šobrīd strādāju vairāk nekā Vidusāzijā. Bet pēc maģistratūras beigām es tiku uzaicināta piedalīties lielākā pētnieciskā projektā, kas tieši pētīja robežas Eirāzijā un tieši bijušās Padomju Savienības kontekstā. Kā robežas ir mainījušās un kā tas ietekmējis cilvēku dzīvi pierobežā? Es nejauši uzdūros vienam rakstam par robežlīgavām uz Uzbekistānas un Kirgizstānas robežas. Tās bija sievietes, kas ir apprecējušās no Uzbekistānas pāri robežai uz Kirgizstānu, šīs sievietes bija arī Kirgizstānas lielākā bezvalstnieku grupa, ko varbūt mēs latviski vairāk izprotam ar nepilsoņiem, bet nepilsoņi un bezvalstnieki - tie ir juridiski divi dažādi termini. Un man likās interesanti pētīt un labāk varbūt arī izprast šo bezpilsonības jautājumu, kas Latvijā bija aktuāls. Tā nu izveidojās pētījums par bezvalstniekiem uz Kirgizstānas - Uzbekistānas robežas. Mērķis šim pētījumam bija izpētīt, kā izmaiņas robežas un pilsonības likumos un praksē kopš Padomju Savienības sabrukuma ir ietekmējušas šo cilvēku grupu, kas dzīvos Kirgizstānas - Uzbekistānas robežas. Un tā nu es nokļuvu Vidusāzijā." Iepazīstam personu apliecinošu dokumentu vēsturi Latvijas teritorijā Izdreijātiem burtiem un daudzos vārdos aprakstošs dokuments par konkrēta cilvēka piedzimšanu, bet bez dzimšanas datuma. Tādas bija dzimšanas apliecības 18. gadsimtā Latvijas teritorijā. Vēsturniece Anita Čerpinska iepazīstina ar personu apliecinošiem dokumentiem no hercoga Jēkaba laika līdz pat pagasta pasu grāmatām pagājušā gadsimta 30. gados. Latvijas Nacionālā arhīva Dokumentu publikācijuun popularizēšanas nodaļas vadītāja, vēstures zinātņu doktore Anita Čerpinska ir sagatavojusi personu apliecinošu dokumentu paraugus sākot no 17. gadsimta, kad paliela sīki aprakstīta lapa ar Kurzemes un Zemgales hercogs Jēkaba parakstu kalpoja kā ceļošanas atļauja. Uzlūkojot 17. un 18. gadsimta dokumentus ar mūsdienu skatu, varam brīnīties, cik daudz laika rakstvežiem ir aizgājis teju kaligrāfiskā rokrakstā smalki izzīmējot burtus vācu valodā. Bet dokumentos neatrodam norādes par konkrētās personas dzimšanas datiem. Anita Čerpinska skaidro, kas tolaik bija būtisks šajos dokumentos, kurus izdeva tad, ka cilvēks devās strādāt algotu darbu. Agrāk tās bija vai nu darba atļaujas vai ceļošanai derīgas apliecības, kuras izsniedza tikai augstas kārtas un brīvajiem cilvēkiem. Kaut kas līdzīgs šodienas pasei sāk parādītes tikai 19. gadsimta sākumā, kad jau uz drukātas veidlapas ieraksta cilvēka vārdu un viņa pazīmes, bet to, kas rakstīts par konkrēto cilvēku var izlasīt atkarībā no ierēdņa rokraksta. Pirmās Latvijas pases tiek izdotas līdz ar Latvijas brīvvalsts izveidošanos, sākotnēji tās vēl ir A4 formāta lapas, bet jau ar fotogrāfiju. Laika gaitā – pagājušā gadsimta 20. gadu sākumā – ērtības labad personu apliecinošs dokuments tiek iesiets vākos un izdots aptuveni tādā pašā formātā, kādas ir mūsdienu pases. Bet vēsturniece Anita Čerpinska vēl parāda interesantu dokumentu – pagastu pasu grāmatas un kopējās ārzemju pases tūristu grupām starpkaru Latvijas laikā.

I first met Stephen Leroux in 2018 during a visit to Charles Heidsieck in Reims. He greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly handshake, before getting down to tasting business. Unusually we started with Charles' Rosé Reserve. He told me, “we like to start with a non-vintage rosé as the amount of reserve wine is twice less – at 20% with just five to six years' of age. In our Brut Reserve, it's the opposite with 40% reserve wine at an average of 10 years of age.” It was a pivotal moment that re-framed my mind to appreciate the significance of the reserve wine system in creating Charles' unequivocal style. Their proportion and age has a massive effect on the body of the wine. Indeed, the non-vintage rose was far fresher than the non-vintage brut. Charles' characterful sourcing of fruit – notably the inclusion from Montgueux – and generous and masterful inclusion of reserve wines in their NVs sets the scaffolding for the Maison's cathedral-like structure, richness and complexity. In this interview I talk to Stephen about Charles' defining style but also how it's evolving as well as the rise and rise of Charles' under his leadership and through the incredible work of former and current chefs de caves.

She shares with listeners her expertise on how the public can be informed and protected from psychopathic (and narcissistic) abuse.Moscovici was born in Bucharest, Romania. At the age of 12, she immigrated with her family to the United States where she has gone on to obtain a B.A. from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Brown University. Moscovici taught philosophy, literature and arts and ideas at Boston University and at the University of Michigan. Born in Bucharest, Romania, she writes from her experience of life in a totalitarian regime, which marked her deeply.In 2002, she co-founded with Mexican sculptor Leonardo Pereznieto the international aesthetic movement called “Postromanticism”,[2] devoted to celebrating beauty, passion and sensuality in contemporary art. She wrote a book on Romanticism and its postromantic survival called Romanticism and Postromanticism, (Lexington Books, 2007) and taught philosophy, literature and arts and ideas at Boston University and at the University of Michigan. Most recently, she published a nonfiction book on psychopathic seduction, called Dangerous Liaisons (Hamilton Books, 2011) and a psychological thriller called The Seducer (forthcoming in March, 2012), which tells the story of a woman lured by a dangerous psychopathic predator.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudia_MoscoviciTitti Damato is an Italian journalist who has recently acquired a degree in psychology. Having herself been a victim of a pathological person, she was interested in finding out more about that individual's behavior and found Claudia's blog. She not only read this blog, but also translated it and created the Italian blog, https://relazionipericoloseblog.com/il-blog-italiano-di-claudia-moscovici/. The Italian blog includes information and articles from Claudia's blog and books (the nonfiction Dangerous Liaisons and the novel The Seducer) as well as numerous other helpful articles provided by Titti herself and other contributors. She contacted Claudia to let her know about this Italian blog and they communicated by Facebook and became collaborators and friends. Together they decided to try to publish Claudia's book on psychopathy, Dangerous Liaisons, in Italian (Relazioni Pericolose) because there seemed to be little awareness about such dangerous individuals in Italy. Titti was instrumental not only in finding a publisher (Edizioni Sonda), but also in translating the book and launching it at the Feltrinelli Bookstore in Rome and at the Italian Parliament (Camera dei Deputati). Right now, they are working together on doing the same for Claudia's novel on psychopathy, The Seducer. Claudia considers her not only a great translator and what the Italians call "curatore" (media promoter, event launcher and translator all rolled up in one role), but also a great friend, educator on the subject of personality disorders and victims' advocate. She has collaborated with public figures and made big strides in Italy in informing the public about personality disorders and dangerous individuals.
