    Australian native Ricky Garard is a controversial figure in the sport of CrossFit after testing positive for testolone and endurobol, both banned substances, at the 2017 CrossFit Games where he finished third. He was hit with a four-year ban from the sport, meaning he could not compete in any CrossFit sanctioned event until after October 3, 2021 Throughout those 4 years, Ricky continued training and pursuing his original goal of competing in CrossFit when his time would come Garard placed 3rd at the 2021 Dubai CrossFit Championship and recently placed second at this year's Torian Pro semifinal event against a stacked lineup of fierce competitors, qualifying him for the 2022 CrossFit Games.     Ten-time CrossFit Games athlete Samantha Briggs may be the oldest athlete in the field, but the 2013 Fittest Woman on Earth shows up to compete. In 2018, Briggs withdrew from the Europe Regional due to an elbow injury, instead competing as a Masters athlete at the 2018 Games where she placed second. While some viewed this as a quiet end to her individual career, Briggs had other plans. She came roaring back in 2019 as one of only two athletes to qualify every way possible. She placed 20th worldwide in the Open, she was the U.K. national champion, she won the Dubai CrossFit Championship, won the Australian CrossFit Championship then won the Reykjavik CrossFit Championship on a team.     Emma McQuaid, from Ravernet near Lisburn, has been to three CrossFit Games and represented Northern Ireland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, finishing fourth in the 63kg event. McQuaid also won the 2022 Wodapalooza competition in Miami, FL. The 32-year-old was quad racing at an international level and winning National Championships before she discovered CrossFit while in America supporting her husband's rehabilitation after he had a serious crash on a quad track. On today's episode, I have Mahmoud Abdelkader, the CEO of Very Good Security, which is like a credit card network for exchanging data Mahmoud co-founded and served as the CTO of a a YCominbator company, Balanced Payments, which was sold to Stipe in 2015. He is also an active angel investor, serves as an advisor to numerous FinTech startups Mahmoud really had to break down what he does for me in simplest terms, and the best way I can explain it is: just like most of us don't carry around cash money, he wants companies to stop carrying their data.
