Jason and Rahul Sen Sharma, an expert on indexes from Index (INDXX), discuss global economic shifts, trade wars, and the stock market. His company tracks over $20 billion in index-based assets, aiding companies in creating indexes, ETFs, and funds. He emphasizes focusing on long-term macro trends over daily market noise, highlighting "re-globalization" as a key shift driven by supply chain vulnerabilities and a desire for friendly-shoring and near-shoring. While tariffs may offer short-term benefits to some countries like India and Mexico, the focus should be on transformative trends like EVs, battery tech, renewables, and critical metals for long-term investment. He also touches on the importance of understanding index rulebooks due to performance divergences and addresses concerns about the S&P 500's concentration, suggesting the marketplace will dictate the need for alternative weighting. https://www.indxx.com/ #Indexes #Economy #TradeWar #Tariffs #StockMarket #Globalization #Reglobalization #Friendshoring #Nearshoring #Investment #Finance #ETFs #MarketTrends #Macroeconomics #RahulSenSharma #INDXX Key Takeaways: 1:28 Meet Rahul 2:16 Broad strokes and taking a macro view 5:11 Reglobalization 7:49 Level playing field 9:43 Where do we go from here 13:16 A difference in indexes 16:24 Self-indexing and the active managers 20:50 The big picture perspective Follow Jason on TWITTER, INSTAGRAM & LINKEDIN Twitter.com/JasonHartmanROI Instagram.com/jasonhartman1/ Linkedin.com/in/jasonhartmaninvestor/ Call our Investment Counselors at: 1-800-HARTMAN (US) or visit: https://www.jasonhartman.com/ Free Class: Easily get up to $250,000 in funding for real estate, business or anything else: http://JasonHartman.com/Fund CYA Protect Your Assets, Save Taxes & Estate Planning: http://JasonHartman.com/Protect Get wholesale real estate deals for investment or build a great business – Free Course: https://www.jasonhartman.com/deals Special Offer from Ron LeGrand: https://JasonHartman.com/Ron Free Mini-Book on Pandemic Investing: https://www.PandemicInvesting.com

As the complexity and demands of technology continue to rise in our business lives, CEOs need to explore all available avenues of how to identify and attract top talent. This is where nearshoring comes in. Nearshoring is a valuable vehicle to augment existing teams, support rapid scaling, or bring new knowledge into an organization quickly. To learn more about nearshoring we turned to Brian Samson, an entrepreneur who has lived and established multiple companies in Latin America. Because of this he holds unparalleled insight into leveraging untapped talent pools of highly educated individuals in Central and South America. Brian holds a passion for helping businesses thrive by introducing great talent to great companies but along the way we also learned he is a caring human who will always be found rooting for the Chicago Cubs. Here are highlights of our conversation: - Nearshore Defined: Moving jobs or tasks within the same time zone, as opposed to offshoring which involves moving across an ocean. The benefit of nearshoring is finding highly skilled talent regardless of the location that speaks English and works the same business day as the US. - Challenging Latin America Misconceptions: The discussion focused on myth busting some perceptions of Latin America, particularly Mexico, based on media portrayals and personal experiences. - Fostering Children: Brian shared his personal experience of becoming a foster family after hearing about the challenges faced by children in the foster care system. He punctuated the need for more good homes for the 440,000 children in the foster care system in the US, adding that less than 3% ever make it to college. Brian Samson is a seasoned entrepreneur with a nine-year track record as the founder and CEO in the Nearshore (LATAM) industry. Having lived in Argentina and established multiple companies throughout Latin America that serve the U.S. market, Brian has an unparalleled insight into leveraging untapped talent pools. His journey includes raising $2 million as a founder, scaling his company to 80 team members, and achieving three successful exits. He has held significant roles such as Department Head at Lending Club during its pre-IPO phase, which IPO'd with a $10 billion valuation, and was part of the executive team at Sosh before its acquisition by Postmates and eventually Uber. Brian holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and leads as a General Partner at Hang10X Capital, making numerous investments in promising ventures. Away from his professional endeavors, Brian's personal life is equally fulfilling. He and his wife are licensed foster parents and have adopted a baby girl from foster care, now raising two toddlers along with a Boston Terrier puppy in their Oahu home. A Chicago native and a staunch Cubs fan, Brian enjoys the island life, which includes the beautiful weather and vibrant community. With a passion that wakes him every day since 2015, Brian is committed to connecting exceptional talent across the Americas with hyper-growth companies in the U.S. Connect with Brian: Website: www.plugg.tech LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/briansamson/ Connect with Allison: Feedspot has named Disruptive CEO Nation as one of the Top 25 CEO Podcasts on the web, and it is ranked the number 6 CEO podcast to listen to in 2025! https://podcasts.feedspot.com/ceo_podcasts/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/allisonsummerschicago/ Website: https://www.disruptiveceonation.com/ X: @DisruptiveCEO #CEO #brand #startup #startupstory #founder #business #businesspodcast #podcast Learn more about your ad choices. "Nearshoring provides a better work product by reducing cultural and time zone barriers," says Chris Nicoli of Kongusto. Recorded at ITEXPO 2025, this podcast features Joel Ciniero and Chris Nicoli of Kongusto, discussing how nearshoring offers a higher-quality, cost-effective alternative to traditional outsourcing. Kongusto helps MSPs, IT service providers, and businesses leverage highly skilled Latin American talent for IT support, customer service, and back-office functions. “We're more than a standard outsourcing service. Our model ensures our nearshore staff operates at a quality level that makes them feel like part of your own company,” What is Nearshoring and Why It's Different from Outsourcing? Kongusto provides nearshore labor solutions—which means high-quality outsourced staffing without the typical drawbacks. Geographical & Time Zone Advantage – Nearshoring keeps operations in similar time zones, ensuring real-time collaboration and responsiveness. Cultural Proximity – Many employees have strong ties to the U.S., speak fluent English, and understand Western business norms. Seamless Integration – Employees become an extension of your team, rather than feeling like external contractors. Expanding the Use Case Beyond IT Support Nearshoring is often associated with customer and IT support, but Kongusto provides talent for a wide range of business functions. IT Helpdesk & Customer Support – Ensure cost-effective, skilled IT and customer service professionals. Accounts Payable, Billing & Project Management – Nearshoring extends to back-office functions that can streamline operations. Scalable Workforce – Businesses can scale quickly without the expense and complexity of domestic hiring. Why MSPs & Channel Partners Should Take Notice MSPs and technology providers already leverage outsourcing, but many have yet to experience the benefits of nearshoring in Latin America. Higher Retention & Quality – Nearshore employees stay longer, integrate better, and provide a higher level of service. Cost Savings Without Compromise – Companies get skilled professionals at a fraction of U.S. labor costs, but with better cultural alignment than offshore outsourcing. Proven Model for MSPs – Kongusto was founded by experienced MSP leaders who have successfully used this approach for years. Changing Perceptions at ITEXPO Kongusto received strong interest at ITEXPO, with many attendees re-evaluating their approach to outsourcing. Initial skepticism quickly turned into curiosity and excitement. Live employee interactions helped showcase the quality and professionalism of Kongusto's nearshore staff. MSPs saw first-hand how the model can improve service delivery while cutting costs. There are more rules, regulations – probably good for society in general, but it's a chore to keep up!” [08.23] The ideal client for Werner. “It's someone that's open to multi modes of shipping, whatever is most efficient… Someone that's flexible and wants to partner, someone who doesn't look at Werner as just a service provider. We want to work together to solve these transportation and supply chain issues.” [10.20] How both Werner and the industry have changed, and the huge business potential in Mexico. “The pandemic taught us a lot about how fragile long supply chains are, so there's been a move to source closer to the end consumer.” [16.05] The key challenges facing Werner customers right now, and how Werner help tackle them. “There's a northbound-southbound imbalance, with northbound volume outpacing the southbound – there's a lot more coming into the U.S. than there is going out, and nearshoring is going to exacerbate that.” [19.05] The biggest opportunities for organizations in 2025, and the future for nearshoring. “Nearshoring is in the early stages – it's going to take a decade to play itself out, but I'm excited to see where it's going to go.” [22.58] The cross-border potential in Canada, the difference in logistics execution between Canada and Mexico, and the overall importance of the logistics and transportation industries. “It's complex, it's dynamic, it's challenging – but that's what keeps it interesting!” “I don't think we always fully grasp how important logistics and transportation is to so many people… It can seem like a thankless job but what we do, all of us collectively, is so important to companies, to societies.” [28.36] The challenges and risks shippers might face when shipping to and from Mexico, how Werner are helping mitigate them, and Lance's advice for organizations in the early stages of nearshoring. [34.38] Werner's recent $8 million investment to improve operations and capabilities in Mexico, and the importance of providing flexibility, speed, and capacity to customers. [37.55] A case study detailing how Werner helped a client that needed to double their normal volume to keep transportation costs down and boost ROI. “Flexibility is going to be the key to success for many shippers coming out of Mexico, going forward, as nearshoring ramps up.” [40.44] The future for the industry, and for Werner. “We don't practice any more, we're experts at this game.” RESOURCES AND LINKS MENTIONED: Head over to Werner's website to find out more and discover how they could help you too.
